Excellent place. Extremely kind staff. Super clean. Great breakfast. Literally 3 mins on foot from the beach.

The only thing is that there’s no privacy in the bathroom. There is no door and the toilet only has a curtain that separates from the rest of the room.

Only comment I can make is the toilet is basically in your bedroom , only separated by a string curtain . Being with my son , we were not bothered , but I imagine a young couple or old couple .. might find the lack of privacy in that area … a little challenging ..

The perfect location. If you don’t like crowds and want to spend time in a little bit more luxurious place, it will be a great choice. Additionally, no kids, only 8 rooms and beach on the other side of the road. Perfection

El personal operativo del hotel muy amable, en el bar y para los desayunos sin queja alguna. La decoración y limpieza de la habitación en excelentes condiciones.

La comunicación con la gente que gestiona las reservas un tanto áspera en algún momento, la regadera 🚿 sin presión ninguno de los días, al parecer es un problema que no se ha resuelto.

Perfekt & wunderschön! So viel Liebe zum Detail, das Zimmer war super schön, groß und sauber, es gab alles was man brauchte. Das Hotel ist nah am Strand gelegen und zu Fuß sind einige sehr gute Restaurants erreichbar - es gibt außerdem einige tolle Empfehlungen vom Hotel. Der Pool ist sehr sauber und lädt zum entspannen und abkühlen ein. Das Frühstück ist absolut fabelhaft, das ganze Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit und von 1-7pm gibt es eine Bar mit den besten Margaritas!!! Und leckerem Essen/Snacks. Absolute Empfehlung, wir würden definitiv wieder hier übernachten, falls wir wieder nach El Cuyo kommen.

We stayed in the large suite which was an amazing, enormous room with stunning sea views. The place had all the amenities with great cocktails and food. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the boutique style of the hotel meant it never felt packed. We would highly recommend if you are looking for an oasis of calm close to the beach in a place with great design!!

Nothing, everything was great. Water pressure in the shower is slightly low, but it is expected given that El Cuyo is fairly remote!

L'hôtel est superbe, la piscine, la salle de petit-déjeuner, tout est pensé avec goût. C'est un petit établissement propice à la tranquillité et au repos. La chambre que nous avions choisie faisait 70m2, était magnifique et propre. Le personnel était très sympathique malgré la barrière de la langue (il ne parle pas l'anglais). Heureusement, nous avons pu communiquer grâce à nos applis de traduction. Le WiFi fonctionne très bien dans ce petit village où la connexion ne passe pas tjs. Le petit-déjeuner était très bon et se composait de yogourt, granola, bol de fruits, pain, beurre, confiture et, à choix, des œufs (brouillés, omelette, au plat) ou des pancakes. Par WhatsApp, vous pouvez joindre l'établissement et ils vous répondent rapidement et vous envoient des recommandations de restaurants, un sacré plus ! La literie est de bonne qualité et nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans l'ensemble.

Bémols : Il n'y a pas eu de check-in à notre arrivée, un des employés nous a tendu son téléphone et la propriétaire nous a transmis les informations utiles par ce biais en nous informant que la personne de l'accueil avait dû s'absenter. Cela ne pose pas un souci en soi mais nous aurions apprécié que qqun prenne le temps de nous recevoir le jour suivant et éventuellement nous offrir un welcome drink. Nous sommes restés 5 nuits et n'avons jamais vu qqun à l'accueil. Pensant que le petit-déjeuner débutait à 7h00, nous nous sommes rendus un matin à 7h20 et avons pris place à une des tables déjà dressée. Le personnel nous a mentionné qu'il débutait à 7h30 et nous pensions que nous pouvions attendre assis. Nous avons reçu un message à 7h24 nous rappelant l'heure du petit-déjeuner et demandant de laisser le personnel finir le nettoyage... Un peu limite de rappeler à l'ordre quand personne n'a pris de temps pour nous, surtout que nous avions réservé la plus belle des chambres durant 5 nuits. Un deuxième message nous a été envoyé car nous avons demandé 2x le changement de linges, je pense que chacun est libre de demander de nouveaux linges s'il le souhaite. Enfin, à notre arrivée, le coffre-fort était fermé et nous avons demandé si qqun pouvait l'ouvrir car nous voulions l'utiliser. On nous a répondu qu'on pouvait nous donner les clés sans souci sauf que, comme personne n'était l'accueil, on n'a pas pu les demander. On ne peut demander aux clients d'être irréprochables si on ne l'est pas soi-même.

Tuvimos un percance en la carretera y cuando llegamos a las siete de la tarde la recepción estaba cerrada, no pudimos comunicarlo al hotel porque no teníamos internet. Llamamos al teléfono de contacto y saltaba el contestador. Nos quedamos tirados en la calle. Tuvimos que rentar una habitación en una casa. Todos los hoteles estaban ocupados. No solo eso sino que nos anularon la reserva de dos noches con desayuno y tuve que pagar de nuevo la habitación que me habían anulado.

No me gusto el café, :( estaba muy simple, no sabía a café. Un consejo, deberían de hacer salsita casera para el desayuno 👌🏻 y dar un buen cafecito.

This was our second stay at Nikau and was just as excellent as the prior stay. Breakfast is cooked to order and plentiful. Rooms are large, airy, and well decorated. Staff are attentive. This is a must-stay hotel in El Cuyo

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön. Es verfügte über ein großes Bett und eine gemütliche Terrasse - sehr tolles interior design! Alles war fußläufig zu erreichen; sehr nah am Meer. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker!

Wonderful boutique hotel near the beach.

Super schönes Zimmer und ausgesprochen freundliche Mitarbeiter. Die gesamte Anlage ist wunderschön und sehr edel gestaltet. Das Meer ist nur einen Katzensprung entfernt. Restaurants und Bars erreicht man bequem zu Fuss.

Les rideaux de la chambre ne sont opaques et nous voyons les lumières la nuit de l’extérieur et au lever on est réveillé très tôt la seule chose que je n’ai pas aimé

todo estuvo muy bien. el perfil del hotel esta muy a gusto con lo que esperabamos, el desayuno es justo, no falta nada ni sobra nada. la ropa de cama esta muy bien el el echo de que cada cuarto tenga entrada independiente y las paredes no esten contiguas a la otra habitacion hace que tenga mucha privacidad.

me parece que al personal le falta formacion y por eso tienen falta de criterio al pedirles algo, el criterio deberia ser siempre tratar de solucionar y hacer la estadia del huesped ena experiencia increible y cro que estan mas para no equivocarce que para dar un buen servicio. lo unico que cambiaria es el cartel de madera que hay que colgar de la puerta. es grande pesado y muy ruidoso.

Das hotel ist den preis nicht wert, es sieht zwar nett aus, aber der service ist katastrophal. In den Räumen gibt es keine Ablagefläche und die nassen Strandtücher darf man weder auf der Terrasse noch auf dem Balkon aufhängen weil es nicht zur „appearance“ des Hotels passt. Wir sind einmal per Whatsapp und einmal persönlich unfreundlich darauf aufmerksam gemacht worden. Deswegen fängt es in den zimmern schnell an zu müffeln. Die Athomosphäre zwischen den Personen die dort arbeiten und den Managern ist sehr angespannt. Während dem wir am Pool lagen, wurden die Mitarbeitenden von den Managern lautstark angeschnauzt, was eine sehr schlechte Stimmung machte. Ruhe und entspannung, mit der das Hotel sich fälschlicherweise schmückt, haben wir da nicht gefunden, unter anderem auch, weil den ganzen tag laute Technomusik im ganzen Hotel und Poolbereich äuft. Wir hatten gefragt ob man diese leiser oder ausstellen könnte. Daraufhin haben wir nur eine genervte defensive nachricht bekommen, dass das nicht ginge und das hotel das leisteste in el cuyo war - eine glatte lüge. Machen sie einen grossen bogen um das hotel.

Una experiencia inolvidable. Desde el momento en que llegamos, el personal nos recibió con mucha amabillidad. El check in fue rápido donde nos aconsejaron sitios para ir a comer y cenar, ya que era nuestro aniversario. La habitación era espectacular, amplia y limpia, con muchos detalles cuidadosamente pensado, donde no echamos en falta nada. Cama muy cómoda. Su limpieza diaria impecable, con un ambiente a frescura. El desayuno variado, con fruta fresca y alimentos locales y saludables. Un gran servicio en general que nos sorprende en un lugar apartado que acompaña a desconectar. Regresaremos pronto.

The hotel is very nice, with clean and well-arranged rooms. The pool is well maintained and the beds are really comfortable. The location is convenient, just a few steps from the beach (although not directly on the seafront). The owner is friendly and helpful.

The internet connection in the room was extremely poor. The staff did not speak English at all, which made communication very difficult (for example, we ordered pancakes but received an omelet instead). Breakfast was very monotonous, with the same two dishes offered every day. If you wanted an extra portion, you had to pay additionally – which seems unreasonable for a hotel in this price range. The beach equipment provided by the hotel was in very poor condition. The umbrellas were unstable and would collapse even with a light breeze. The sunbeds were very rusty, which ended up staining and damaging our belongings, so instead of enjoying the beach, I had to spend time cleaning my things. There was also no proper place to dry clothes or towels. The air-conditioned room was not suitable for drying, and the owner asked us not to leave items on the terrace in order to “keep the hotel elegant.” However, an elegant hotel would never allow such neglected equipment in the first place. The hairdryer was baby size – if you have long hair, it will take forever to dry. The hotel building itself is beautiful, but that alone does not make a great stay. For the price, I expected much more. I would recommend looking for another place in this beautiful city.

Habíamos reservado una Junior Suite.. resulta una cueva sin luz sin balcón sin apertura..Tuvimos que cambiar y pagar un upgrade.. Las habitaciones son cómodas y bien equipadas..Pero no vista mar no servicios..Caro por lo que es... .

Sehr schönes Hotel, gepflegt und wirklich sauber. Die Zimmer werden auf Wunsch jeden Tag frisch gemacht und alles ist sehr harmonisch angelegt mit viel Sand. Wir sind die ganze Zeit barfuß gelaufen. Das Frühstück ist lecker und es gibt die Wahl aus drei Speißen. Das Bett ist super groß und jedes Zimmer hat einen Ventilator aber auch eine AC. Zum Strand sind es keine 3 min und Abends kann man direkt um die Ecke in verschiedenen Restaurants supper essen.

Die Toilette im Zimmer ist nur durch einen Vorhang (Geräusche) getrennt und die Wand nach oben offen (Gerüche). Es gibt noch eine Toilette im Frühstücksbereich, aber da ist man auch eher mitten drin. Wenn man kein Spanisch kann, ist man eher aufgeschmissen, da das Personal kein Englisch spricht. Der Serviegedanke wird jetzt auch nicht extensiv ausgelebt. Man muss aber auch sagen, dass wir in der Woche dort waren, in denen die Besitzer nicht da waren. Wir gehen schwer von aus, dass vor allem der Service besser gewesen und Missverständnisse nicht enstanden wären.

Mi ha sorpreso la raffinatezza, l'atmosfera e il gusto che ho trovato in questo delizioso hotel. I particolari sono tutti curati al massimo sia negli spazi comuni sia nelle stanze. L'arte sempre presente, il personale gentile e solerte. La pulizia perfetta. La colazione fresca abbondante e servita al tavolo, non il triste buffet. La musica di ambiente soffusa. L'incredibile spiaggia di El Cuyo a due passi. L'ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo e..parlano anche italiano!

Our stay at Nikau Hotel was exactly what we needed. It’s the perfect place to disconnect, relax, and truly enjoy a peaceful escape without the mass tourism you find in other destinations. You can tell that the management has done an excellent job in how everything is handled—there’s a sense of order, care, and intention throughout the hotel. The cleanliness is outstanding, and every detail feels thoughtfully maintained. We will be back soon!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Nikau Hotel unglaublich genossen. Das Hotel ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, super sauber und vermittelt sofort ein entspanntes, warmes Gefühl. Außerdem ist es total fotogen – perfekt für schöne Erinnerungsfotos oder Instagram. Ein besonderes Lob geht an Tammy, die Eigentümerin. Man merkt in jedem Detail, wie viel Liebe sie in diesen Ort steckt. Sie ist herzlich, hilfsbereit und sorgt persönlich dafür, dass man sich nicht wie ein Gast, sondern wie ein Freund fühlt. Das gesamte Team ist super freundlich und die Lage ist ideal, um El Cuyo in Ruhe zu erleben und den Alltag komplett hinter sich zu lassen. Wer einen besonderen, persönlichen und ruhigen Ort abseits vom Massentourismus sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Absolute Empfehlung – wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel had such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, you could really feel the good vibes everywhere. Every detail of the hotel was perfectly in tone, creating a beautiful ambiance throughout. The cocktails were amazing, especially by the poolside lounge, which was the perfect place to relax and unwind. One thing we really liked, was that the check in process was fast and easy and we were able to be in contact with them at all times. Can’t wait to come back!

Ya nos hemos alojado en este hotel y una vez más todo ha sido perfecto. Desde el personal que es muy amable y siempre nos hace sentir como en casa, las instalaciones están muy bien cuidadas, las habitaciones son super cómodas y limpias, hasta la ubicación que es ideal. Nos encanta ver que mantiene la misma calidad y atención al detalle.

Toda la experiencia ha sido excelente. Es un hotel muy bonito, cuidado, tranquilo; la atención ha sido muy amable por parte del personal. Tanto el pueblo y la playa tiene mucho encanto. Muy Recomendable.

The amenities, the attentiveness of the staff, and the overall quality of the property were far better than we anticipated. Jairo at the bar made amazing cocktails, especially the mezcalita! The best was lounging around the pool with some nice reading time and good music in the background. We only wish we could have extended our stay.

La chambre est jolie et bien équipée, à quelques pas de la plage. L'établissement est également charmant, décoré avec goût et très propre. Les boissons et cocktails sont chers mais bons !

La chambre et le lieu de manière générale sont étroits, peu de place pour circuler ou se détendre au bord de la piscine. Seulement 2 coussins et 2 chaises sinon c'est l'espace restauration mais pas de chaises longues. Aussi la chambre est très sombre ! Lumière pour une ambiance tamisée mais TROP tamisée Le petit déjeuner est uniquement continental : œuf, bacon, avocat, fruits ou hotcake. Nous aurions aimé avoir plus d'options et typiques du Mexique... De plus, l'établissement ne propose que le petit déjeuner alors qu'il y a peu d'options pour le dîner par exemple. C'est dommage. Également, rien pour accompagner votre boisson. Le personnel ne parle pas 1 mot d'anglais, ce qui ne facilite pas la communication. On ne vous communique rien sauf si vous posez la question. Ils ne sont pas dans une démarche très proactive vis-à-vis de leurs clients. Par exemple : aucune indication pour trouver l'accès à la plage. Globalement, le lieu se veut de haut standing dans un esprit exclusif. Mais les prestations et services ne sont pas à la hauteur de leurs attentes. Par exemple : pas de welcome drink, serviette de plage / piscine pas très propre. Et enfin, un lieu avec des restrictions : pas le droit de fumer, pas le droit d'étendre sa serviette à l'extérieur. On vous le fera savoir avec un joli message WhatsApp adressé personnellement 😊

El hotel es precioso, las instalaciones de primera y la atención muy amable. Ha sido una experiencia maravillosa, nos encantó la música de la alberca y la tranquilidad del lugar. La pasamos increíble.

Todo estuvo perfecto. Sería bueno que la alberca pudiese ser ocupada también por la noche bajo solicitud de silencio por respeto a los demás huéspedes. Seria un plus estupendo al ser un hotel solo para adultos.

The property is amazing, I can probably say that it is the nicest property en El Cuyo. Everything is planned with great detail. The pool is amazing, the rooms are very nice. They have great staff.

The property is not beachfront but 50m maximum walking distance. Pretty much all the properties en El Cuyo are not beach front and specially if you want a nice place like this one! Still great experience only to walk 50 m to the beach. If you rent a car there is no problem at all.

This stop was not planned as we were in Tulum and the beaches were not very nice and had a lot of sargassum we looked for an alternative and we found El Cuyo and this amazing hotel Nikau. It has nothing to do with Tulum. The beach was long and clean and had nothing of sargassum. There isn’t any beach clubs but that is a good thing, as we can sit and lay anywhere and literally be on our own! The hotel was exclusive and quiet with amazing decor and good vibes. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the cocktails at the were so yummy and fresh! We hope to come back soon and stay much longer than just one night.

It had a super cool, laid-back vibe—like a hip boutique hotel with a tropical, beachy feel and just a touch of Tulum style. The aesthetics were beautiful and calming, and the pool area was the perfect spot to unwind. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and the front desk concierge was amazing—friendly, helpful, and full of great local suggestions. They really went out of their way to help us with anything we needed, which made our stay so much easier and more enjoyable. The quality of the property is top-notch, and it’s clear the owner truly cares about the guest experience. You can feel the love and attention to detail. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a stylish and peaceful stay in El Cuyo!

I had booked this hotel for a couple days of relaxation and to say they delivered is an understatement. It was everything I was hoping for and I’d make the trip to El Cuyo again just to enjoy this hotel another time

Nothing - the whole place is perfectly done

The hotel was right across from the beach so easy to go for a walk on the beach, watch the sunset and the full moon. It wasn't too far from town. We did have a car so chose to drive when we went into town. The hotel was comfortable and very esthetically pleasing. Federico at the reception was very pleasant and helpful.

The only hiccup we had was the coffee maker on our second night. The first room we stayed in, had good coffee and coffee maker. The second night we had a different room. Coffee maker would not stop pouring so my husband unplugged it. When I tried it, it spilled from underneath the machine and coffee tasted like dirty water.

I loved how cozy the property felt. Everything you could need was right there. The staff were super friendly even with my poor Spanish, they went above and beyond with my late check-in (missed flights etc). This is def a Tulum vibe hotel but for grown ups.

We had an incredibly special stay at Nikau. All of the staff was lovely and helpful, the breakfast and bar were excellent, and El Cuyo was just the uncrowded, unpretentious, relaxing beach town we were looking for. Incredibly grateful for Nikau!

Before even arriving to Nikau Hotel, we were in contact with them and had many questions resolved as in tours, massages etc. Once we arrived at the hotel, it was beautiful! Andrea and Adriana received us and gave us the run down of the hotel and El Cuyo. They accompanied to our room which is not seen that much anymore so that was appreciated. They gave us amazing recommendations for eating out which we didn't have time to visit many but will be back for sure to try more. The breakfast had a variety of food and fresh fruit and juice! Jairo our bartender made awesome cocktails, we recommend the mezcalita. Every detail in the rooms and hotel were spot on. Overall, the staff and the attention was exactly what we were looking for. We will be back!!

The tranquil vibe was the thing we loved most about Nikau. It is an amazing boutique hotel with beautiful artwork in the lobby and dining area. The entrance will draw you into their little piece of paradise. It feels very secure, laid back, super clean, very large and tasty breakfasts, super comfortable king size bed, hammock, lovely little pool, nice bar area for ordering cocktails from the hotel. They really do go all out to make their guests feel welcome, safe and comfortable. The extra touches are what make it unique.

Everything was perfect, a short walk across the Sandy street to the beach, 2 minutes maybe, great restaurants within walking distance. You do not need a car to get around. It is located in the center of the main beach road for easy access.

No place where to dry a bikini or a towel. Not kitesurf friendly, no storage area. Was not permitted to take cups in the room. For the second coffee at breakfast we had to pay. Our room in the ground floor had no privacy.

No door on the bathroom, cute but no .No water provided unless you paid. I've been in some pretty just ok hotels and every one of them provided at least a bottle of water. Expresso machine available, no regular coffee in the room. Cool tub on the balcony but it doesn't drain all the way and the next morning there were hundreds of mosquitoes. Light you can read by would be awesome.

Not a great place to stay if you’re here for the kiteboarding. In the bedrooms, the bathroom area is well lit, but not the room - way too dark to read a book at night. Constant monotonous music from the bar with heavy bass from about noon to 9pm. Breakfast is lovely and delicious but after 7 days we were looking forward to some variety.

Everything was perfect, so relaxing. Beautifully designed with attention to detail. Tasty breakfasts. Very friendly place - thank you Tamara, Andrea, Jairo, Laura...!!

It was very nice hotel. Peacefull and cozzy. Beautifull Design full of natural toutch. Very comfortable bed and towels. Everywhere, everything and everytime clean.

Every day same breakfast. We could choose from eggs or pancakes. Toilet and bathroom was directly conected to the bedroom. There were no door on toilet, just curtain. So you have to be ok with this. And we had a bit smell from schower, so we had it also in bedroom.

Gorgeous property, excellent breakfast, great drinks at the bar, kind staff.

The bathroom in the bedroom doesn’t have a door/isn’t enclosed so you can hear and smell everything!

Beautiful boutique hotel, cosy and tasteful, in front of a magical wild beach, perfect for couples that want to relax. Outstanding customer service from all the staff, great barista and cocktails. Premises are brand new and well thought, and sure some little details may be enhanced with the time (night curtains, toilets, lightning), it doesnt change the vivid feeling of peace and serenity you get as soon as you enter this hostelry work of art

The welcome was really warm, receptionist took attention to every detail. The hotel’s interior and environment is very cosy. Breakfast was delicious. All the best recommendations!

The road to hotel was a bit challenging (~800m) but it is not a problem once you reach the destination :))

Nikau hotel is very charming, the staff, the rooms, the delicious breakfast, everything is catered to and I had a great time.

How pretty it is

The hotel is very new so a couple of things were missing. The town is constantly left without power. They don’t have generator as other hotels have and didn’t have candles for the rooms, we had to ask the admin to get some for us and ended up buying more. It was raining a lot they didn’t have umbrellas. Breakfast was very basic and one day I got berries with mold and a juice that was fermented. I think it’s because it is very new so probably the kitchen staff does not know how it works or what to do.

I loved the place, the design, the rooms, all the small details! Seems like this place is made with care and love.
