Wir haben als Familie zwei Zimmer reserviert und waren rundum zufrieden. Beide Zimmer waren sehr sauber, gepflegt und schön gestaltet. Die Klimaanlage hat einwandfrei funktioniert, und die Zimmer waren mit drei Einzelbetten sowie einem Doppelbett sehr passend für unsere Familie ausgestattet. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Eigentümer: Sie waren ausgesprochen freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Als nette Geste wurden wir sogar mit einem Welcome Drink begrüßt – eine sehr schöne Aufmerksamkeit! Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker und hat unseren Aufenthalt perfekt abgerundet. Wir haben uns von Anfang an willkommen und sehr wohlgefühlt. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft und den schönen Aufenthalt!

The best part was the family that owned it. They were soooo welcoming and kind. The breakfast was delicious and the room was so nice with a balcony to the Nile. What a great little gem.

The staff here were by far the friendliest and most helpful people I met during my entire trip to Egypt. We asked if it was possible to change our rooms, and they immediately helped us. We offered to pay the difference, but they absolutely refused and told us it was a gift from them. They also offered us coffee, tea, and water free of charge. When we were leaving, they even gave us handmade necklaces they had made themselves, which was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture. They responded to every request quickly and were always happy to help. Their kindness and hospitality truly made our stay special. If you ever visit Aswan, don’t think twice about staying here. I would like to thank the owners once again for their incredible hospitality and kindness. We will always remember you! ❤️

Le staff est fabuleux! On a été acceuilli comme de la famille des le premier moment. La manager et son frère sont des perles rares avec qui il fait plaisir de discuter et d'échanger. L'emplacement est charmant et offre une proximité pratique avec le traversier. C'est coloré et confortable

I spent a lot of time looking at reviews and I am so glad I decided on Airkela Nuba Dool. It is so close to the north ferry, very close to Jamaica Restaurant. Valuable in 42 degrees heat. Lovely sitting areas on our own balcony or up on the roof or down by the water. We had four days in Aswan giving ourselves time to plan our day trips but I needn’t have worried. Riwa, who speaks excellent English organised all our tours for us. Great transport to Abu Simbal in a mini bus. Great value, great vehicles. Also, she organised a boat to pick us up from the front of the house to take us to the Nubian Village. Felt like royalty as we were in our own boat where others were packed in on the organised tours. Everyone has been warm and welcoming. Hot water and air conditioning worked. Basic, healthy Egyptian breakfast.

Beautiful, very pretty location, excellent views. Super friendly host and lovely breakfast very helpful with organising tours and extremely kind and honest people.

There was nothing not to like

The people were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. The property has an amazing location with beautiful views and is very clean and well presented. It has a lovely atmosphere and we enjoyed talking to Rawia who arranged for us to go to see Animalia Museum, which is an insight into Nubian culture created by her brother. They are very well educated and interesting family. She was extremely helpful when it came to organising Tours and we were very happy with the fact that they seem to be very genuine and honest and made our stay a highly enjoyable one.

There was nothing we did not like

Rawia and the staff were incredible! Elephantine is a quiet, calm island, but the ferry to the main land it less then 60 secs so it truly is a wonderful location. Breakfast was very good as well. Rawia did everything to make us feel safe and welcomed and she helped us coordinate plans. Thank you for everything!

Charming guest house on Elephatine Island, near the ferry terminal (a 5-minute ride from the mainland). Great view of the Nile and mainland Aswan from the covered deck, where a very nice breakfast is served. Very friendly and helpful staff, who made sure we had water when we went out for a walk on a hot day, and helped us find our way on the dirt paths winding through the island. The room was small but had all that we needed, including A/C and a small fridge, and a comfy bed. If you want to see the real Elephatine Island (not the one behind walls at the giant resort), with all of its bright colors and welcoming folk, stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the island is gorgeous and has nice restaurants on the water. The accomodation was lovely, the staff are very welcoming, kind and helpful with any needs! We loved this little taste of Nubian culture and hospitality :)

Excelente localização, a curta distância a pé do ferry. Limpeza excepcional. Varanda ao lado do rio♥️ Anfitriões maravilhosos. Alterei as datas, sem qualquer problema, quando a reserva não era modificável. Atenciosos( bebida de boas vindas, ajudaram com informação que necessitei para me deslocar a Abu Simbel. Estive 24h ausente, e quando cheguei , um pequeno almoço maravilhoso preparado. E ainda me prepararam pequeno almoço para levar, no dia em que me ausentei). Facilmente, um dos melhores sítios em que já fiquei. Obrigada por tudo!

The room was simple but comfortable. The views on the Nile were beautiful. We booked 3 nights, but it was too much for what can be really done/visited in Aswan. The staff was very nice and very friendly. The owner helped us get a taxi as we were leaving very early in the morning.

Make sure you continue and consistently follow up with staff to get what you are looking for.

Rawia was amazing host! So caring, she even had breakfast prepared for us for take away, as we were leaving early for tour, and would miss it. Location is just perfect, right by the dock. We loved it there

Rawia and Mahmoud were great hosts, very attentive and caring. Felt like sweet home. Communication with Mahmoud was exceptionally fast. Mahmoud also provided us with affordable private car options to visit Abu Simbel and Luxor...and the most important part - our room was on the second floor with great view towards river Nile and Aswan city and during the day and at night views were mesmerizing - so much energy. We also took a deep in the river Nile as there is a cute sandy, man-made beach with sun-bathing chairs. So highly recommend this place for unique experience.

The room is clean and spacious with balcony overlooking the Nile River. The property has its own felucca dock. You can book activities with them at reasonable price. Unfortunately, I pre booked everything before start of our vacation. The manager, Rawia is very engaging and warm and made us feel like part of the family. The same with the property’s caretaker/cook. Her coffee with the free breakfast is the best. But what did it for me is the Karkadeh/hibiscus cold tea!! It’s so refreshing considering the blistering heat in Aswan.

Not the property perse, but Aswan’s very hot weather. It just drains the energy out of my son and myself to the point where we both don’t want to go out much.

Great explanation at our arrival to take the public boat to go on the Island. We enjoyed the homemade tasty breakfast on the rooftop. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Well equiped rooms. Location is peaceful, clean and perfect to see and understand Nubian lifestyle. I recommend 100%.

Questa guesthouse è perfetta per un po' di relax durante la propria vacanza, si trova sull'isola Elefantina e offre una splendida vista sul Nilo, permettendo di vivere appieno la cultura nubiana. Beautiful views. Very nice people away from the hassle of the main Aswan side. Ferry is easy to catch from near KFC. Easy to find. Room was clean and had enough space and lovely balcony. Close to King Jamaica restaurant which is a must for the tagine.

The air conditioner was a bit noisy.

Sweet little guest house well located near the ferry. Breakfast was very good and the view from our little terrace across the Nile was lovely. It is quite basic but clean and we always had plenty of hot water and there was very good aircon in our room. Elephant Island is a much better part of Aswan to stay on than the mainland. Quiet and interesting to walk around - lovely people. Staff were really lovely.

The one aspect that spoiled our visit was the overcharging for trips etc (I see other reviews have mentioned this) . We took a trip to Abu Simbel and a car back to Luxor - both were overpriced by the manager who seemed too keen to get money. I questioned her telling her she was too expensive but she did not budge we were quite frankly a little nervous. You are a bit reliant on your guest house on Elephantine island. She was very keen that we eat an evening meal here which we finally relented to but again it was more expensive than any other guesthouse or restaurant. It made us very wary of asking for anything which was a shame.

Aswan people are hospitable, humble and generous and the host is no different. We went to the other side by ferry with my son to bring some medicine, he paid for our tickets.

Nous avons apprécié le charme authentique nubien de cette petite guesthouse. Les 2 terrasses à fleur d'eau, et en roof top ainsi que la chambre avec vue directe sur le Nil. La gentillesse de notre hôte Rawia, qui a tout fait pour nous rendre le séjour parfait: nous laisser prendre notre chambre des 9h du matin, aller chercher du miel en courant pour notre petit déjeuner, nous réserver à bon prix un felouque pour naviguer autour de l'ile, nous organiser le portage des bagages et nous changer de chambre après une panne électrique. Le calme, la propreté des lieux. L'emplacement hyper pratique à 2 minutes de l'embarcadère. L'environnement authentique et rural d'Elephantine toute en couleur et paisible, loin de l'agitation de la ville. Et les habitant de l'ile très accueillant qui vous souhaitent la bienvenue sur votre passage.

Questa guesthouse è perfetta per un po di relax durante la propria vacanza, è sull’isola elefantina e si può godere di una splendida vista sul Nilo. Le camere sono ampie, pulite e dotate di aria condizionata e tutti i comfort. La colazione preparata al momento è davvero buona e servita su una splendida terrazza sul Nilo, abbiamo avuto l’occasione di provare anche la cena e la consiglio a tutti quanti, veri piatti della tradizione. Il plus è il servizio sempre curato e gentile, con la manager presente e sempre disponibile, ci ha anche aiutato con una problematica che abbiamo avuto. Davvero consigliato!

We had a very nice stay, the hotel is well located with easy access, the rooms are clean, the view on the Nile from the terrace is great. And a very good feeling with the staff and her manager, we discussed and laughed together, we enjoyed this moment!

Le personnel est d'une gentillesse incroyable. Le logement est posé sur le Nil dans elephantine island, quel endroit magnifique. Personne ne vous arnaquera sur l'île, les locaux sont d'une autre mentalité. La terrasse permet de se poser auprès du fleuve en toute tranquillité, c'est un endroit incroyable, une adresse en or.

Breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect, really close to the ferry, restaurants, and the ruins on Elephantine island, making it easy to walk around the Nubian village. Excellent location with view over the Nile. Airkela had booked a car for me from the airport and picked me up at the ferry to go to Elephantine Island. All arrangements were well communicated and went smoothly. The guesthouse was spotless clean throughout. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Close walking distance to restaurants (I really liked the Kana Kato). Above all, very friendly manager and staff.

Rawia est une hôtesse formidable (comme son équipe), elle nous a reçu comme si nous étions de sa famille. Elle nous a aidé a tout organiser en dernière minute et a rendu notre séjour encore plus agréable. L'esprit nubien qui règne ici est un vrai plus après avoir vécu le tumulte des grandes villes égyptiennes, un calme reposant avec une vraie odeur de vacances !

Una de las mejores ubicaciones en Aswan, majo el personal, muy tranquilo para estar, servicio de ferry público cada 10 minutos por 15 libras egipcias. Tiene un rooftop y restaurantes buenos por la zona.

Si tienes pensada alguna excursión por la noche, como Abu Simbel, teniendo en cuenta que el servicio público de barco cierra a las 00, por lo que tienes que conseguir un barco privado que te gestionan en el alojamiento.

Des petits ajustements et réparations doivent être réalisés dans la salle de bain : réparation de la chasse d’eau et débouchage de l’évacuation de l’eau pour la douche. Il n’y a pas de bac dédié à la douche, il y a donc constamment de l’eau dans la salle de bain qui ne s’évacue pas. Les paquebots stationnent sur l’autre rive côté Assouan face a l’hébergement, il y a donc un ronronnement de moteur permanent. Aussi, la moustiquaire ne couvre pas toute la fenêtre et il y a un espace entre les fenêtres. Celle-ci est donc inutile en l’état.

The view from the rooms was amazing! The location is in a local village in an island, unique experience.

The bedsheets were not very comfortable and the shower had no curtains. Also there was some tour upselling with prices “in euros” and some “half-true” information.

Das Frühstück war gut und die Aussicht auf den Nil, phantastisch.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. What makes this place truly special is its incredible atmosphere — you don’t just stay here, you actually live among the locals and experience the real Egypt. Everything is very well maintained, clean, and beautifully taken care of. The staff are genuinely warm, attentive, and always make sure you feel comfortable and looked after. You are truly in the middle of it all, immersed in the culture, not separated from it like in typical tourist hotels. That’s what makes this place so unique. We were even recommended a fantastic local restaurant, where we ended up dining alongside local residents — such an authentic and memorable experience. Getting there is very easy: it’s just a 5–10 minute ride from the main part of the city, either by private transfer or public transport, and you are dropped off right at the hotel. An amazing place overall — 100% worth visiting if you want to experience the real Egypt instead of staying in standard, generic hotels. Highly recommended!

Authentic Nubian hotel in a fantastic location on Elephantine Island with a beautiful view of the Nile. Very welcoming atmosphere and extremely kind and helpful staff. The Nubian breakfast is also excellent and delicious. A perfect place to experience Nubian hospitality in a unique setting.

Host was fantastic. Welcomed us with a drink, arranged for us boats to Nubian village and provided with a breakfast box. Rokms are spacious, confortable and clean. No problem with warm water. Not mentioned the view - it was spectacular. Staying on the island is a great alternative to busy Aswan.

Close to the boat drop off, easy to find. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again without hesitation. Special shout out to Mohammed for looking after us
