Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Nous avons été accueilli avec une extrême gentillesse. La chambre familiale est grande tout comme la salle de bain. Nous avons été conseillé pour le choix d'un restaurant dans lequel nous avons très bien mangé. Le petit déjeuner est choisi la veille et nous est cuisiné le matin. Nous avons opté pour les pancakes et le full irish breakfast.
Le petit déjeuner pourrait apporté plus de produits frais et de fait maison. Les pains au chocolat industriels ne sont pas ce que l'ont cherche dans ce type d'établissement. Le système de pompage de la douche qui nous a tout de même été expliqué mais pas forcément pratique quand on se trouve déjà dans la douche.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026Was für ein Haus!! So viel Charakter und Charme! Das Zimmer war sehr groß, ein Kingsize Bett und 2 weitere Betten. Sehr großes Bad. Das Frühstück ist nicht zu toppen, reichhaltig und wunderschön serviert. Die Eigentümer sind unglaublich lieb und nett, vielen lieben Dank!!

Trish was able to accommodate our gluten & dairy free needs no problem as well. Couldn’t recommend highly enough with family.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2025Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen hier zu übernachten. Ganz arg nette Gastgeber. Super Frühstück und wunderschöne Zimmer. Es gibt Parkplätze vor der Türe und in ca. 5-7 min Restaurants und Pubs. Es stand Wasser und Süßigkeiten bereit. Wir waren jeder Zeit mit dem Gastgeber per Handy in Kontakt. Wirklich großartig.

We needed our car at the Heritage and got a taxi back to our accommodation. The next morning, the hosts dropped us back for our car, which was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you!

Family Room was very suitable for 2 adults & 3 kids/teenagers - lots of space, en-suite, v. clean 3. Breakfast was excellent - traditional Irish; second servings available if you wanted 4. Peaceful location in countryside, very close to Portarlington town and well thin 10 mins of larger town Portlaoise 5. Hosts Padraig & his wife are very accommodating and helpful, great to talk with 6. Free Parking on site

You can hear the traffic all night. Transport from the wedding hotel was not available by taxi which was very disappointing. The room was quoted as €120 and I was told it held up to four people and when I added an other guest to my room I was charged another €20 for breakfast. I was disappointed at this.

Reviewed Feb 13, 2025I stayed in Oak House because I was attending a function nearby. The house was situated in beautiful surroundings and Trish was so welcoming and friendly. She offered me a lift to the function and chatted about the venue. My room was perfect. It was spacious and cosy, and it was equipped with coffee/tea making facilities (and lovely snacks too). The room had a flat screen TV, so I watched Netflix while getting ready. I chose a full Irish breakfast for the next morning, but there were lots of lovely options to choose from. I had a comfortable, peaceful nights sleep and enjoyed the quiet. I was greeted by Padraig the next morning, and he presented me with a delicious breakfast. The freshly made coffee and orange juice went down a treat. Padraig was very pleasant, and he offered me a lift to the train station. Oak House was ideal for my night away and I will definitely return there.

Reviewed Oct 8, 2024What a lovely spot! Beautiful countryside, comfortable beds, Trish was a warm & gracious hostess, and we got to enjoy our very first beautifully prepared Traditional Irish Breakfast. This was a perfect distance from Dublin to get our travels through Ireland started.
It would have been nice to meet other travelers at the B&B on our first night in Ireland, but we arrived on a Monday and there were no other guests there! No fault of our hosts at all, though!
