City Break Cottage for couples 27 mins CHC Airport

What an incredible find! Matt and Bev were amazing hosts, super responsive and this property was beautiful. It had everything we needed and more space than we expected. A lovely retreat to the countryside while still close enough to amenities and shops if needed. Cannot recommend more highly!

Attention to detail and lots of thoughtful little extras that were much appreciated!

Bed was a bit hard

The house had been setup for our arrival, air conditioner was on, there were snacks setup and it was very nice to walk into after travelling. Such a great quiet country location, cozy atmosphere, great amenities, alot of thought had gone into this cottage we loved our stay here! We highly recommend the cottage if you love the cozy farm house vibes.

Only feedback we might have was perhaps a shower caddy in the shower for added storage.

A képek tökéletesen megfelelnek a valóságnak, a hely, a környék, a kert, a ház, a szoba pontosan olyan mesébe illően szép, hangulatos és kényelmes. Nagyon csendes, pihentető környék, és a házigazdák Matt & Bev mindenről gondoskodtak, hogy otthon érezzük magunkat.Tényleg mindennel fel van szerelve, a legkisebb apróság is megtalálható amire csak szüksége lehet az embernek. Kicsit hűvösebb volt az idő, de nem fáztunk, az ágy nagyon kényelmes volt, tágas kipakolási lehetőség, tiszta nagy fürdőszoba, és a konyha elképesztő volt. Egyszerre volt moder és mégis mintha egy mesebeli kis tündér kuckóban lettünk voltunk.

I love how we arrived and there were complimentary snacks by the front door. Definitely a bonus as we had arrived early hours of the morning and explored and just wanted to check in but had to wait till the afternoon. We got to check in abit early which was good and hadn’t done any shopping yet. So it was awesome to arrive and see this. Also, surrounding views of the mountain was beautiful. Wish we had spent a longer time here. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Christchurch.

The shed was locked and I wasn’t able to get to the bins

The beautiful quaint garden, the black faced sheep running in the paddock next door and the fact that it was in the middle of nowhere but yet so close to everything

We had a great 3 night stay at the cottage. We arrived a bit later than planned when it was dark and a little cold outside, so it was lovely to walk into the cottage which was really warm, well prepared and with lights on to welcome us. Very comfortable and cosy bed. Hosts Matt and Bev were very helpful throughout our stay and communicating how to get there and very responsive to any questions we had. Lovely peaceful rural location on the edge of Christchurch but still within easy reach to the city and surrounds. Hosts also very flexible in arranging a late checkout on our final day. Very relaxing, beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly want or need. The cottage is so warm and the bed is very comfortable.

Upon arrival at this booking, I proposed to my girlfriend, marking the true beginning of our journey through New Zealand. In consultation with the host, i was able to arrange some extra decorations for an additional cost, including champagne, local wine, and various decorations. It exceeded all our expectations. The roses came from the garden of the in-laws, which we also had the chance to visit—a highly recommended experience if you appreciate beautifully maintained gardens within walking distance. On behalf of my wife and me, I would like to thank the hosts, Matt & Bev, once again for the wonderful stay, excellent communication, and great assistance.

Great location in a quiet and rural area, some 15 to 20 minutes drive from the city center of Christchurch. Plenty of opportunity to go on nice walks. Halswell Quarry is about 7 minutes drive away and a great location for walks. The accomodation is cosy and has a fully equipped kitchen, although small. In the online contact we had with the hosts they were very friendly and helpful. Nice Italian restaurant located just across the road within 2 minutes walk.

The bed had a hard mattress. Investment in a better quality bed would be recommended.

Location very peaceful but not too far from city, cottage is cute, clean with all necessary amenities including heating and air-conditioning, no issues with mosquitos or other insects

hosts are very welcoming and friendly. All details for check in and the stay were well communicated before arrival. Cottagge was fantastic for us, we loved the quirky charm of the old style building with it's uneven floors. Thank you, we would stay here again at the next trip to Christchurch.

Convenient for CHCH, but lovely rural location. Everything was easy and as described. Comfortable and homely. Nice personal touches with teas, snacks etc. Good restaurant across the road.

It was wonderful. Cute, quiet. It had everything I needed and was the perfect location. Just far enough away from the centre but very easily accessible.

The cottage is quiet, cosy and had everything you would need for a short break. The weather was cold but the cottage was always warm and welcoming. The fridge was stocked with extra goodies that were most appreciated. The bed was comfy and having robes was a lovely touch. Communication with the host was prompt and helpful. We highly recommend Plux Cottage and will return for our next visit
