the host emphasized that hotel-like service is not able to be given. i understand, but the service could be better. there could be more amenities other than just one bottle of soap. kitchen could be filled more than just one scratched small frying pan or one small pot.

The bathroom smelt of smoke which was unpleasant however the rest of the apartment smelt fine with no smoke smell.

Reviewed Oct 24, 2025The location of the property is fine if you are looking for some time to relax on Tanjung Aru Beach. The size of the room is also nice with working AC.
The actual state of the suites are not in a good condition. We stayed for one night and noticed multiple issues with the property. Firstly the bathroom was in a horrible condition. There were wet patches on the floor which appeared to be from the last occupier, and there was an unidentified brown sludge which I do not want to think about. There was a crumpled bath towel which was left in the cupboard in our room from the previous occupant, and multiple cleanliness issues as well as poor condition and old appliances, such as a disgusting bath mat, and an iron with holes in the fabric. We contacted the property within an hour of arriving and they assured they would send the cleaner round to sort out the issue. However when we returned in the evening there was no evidence of cleaning and when we contacted the owner, they admitted that no one had come. When we detailed how unhappy we were with the service we were offered compensation and asked us to meet with them; as we do not have Malaysian bank accounts they offered us cash. This turned out to be RM30 and a packet of crisps. The RM 30 they said came out of the wages of the cleaner who has to clean multiple suites throughout the city and they blamed this on her. This is not an issue of the cleaner; this is an issue of quality by the company, and to have the nerve to offer such a laughable amount as compensation, blame the cleaner and then beg that we would not leave a truthful review stating they are a "Small, new company" (they own multiple residences throughout Sabah), represents a worrying lack of integrity and I would advise anyone to be wary of dealing with this company in the future.

The hosts were responsive before my arrival. However, I had a lot of problems getting the key from the mail box as the code that the hosts provided did not work. I told the hosts that I would arrived at 10am. At around 1020pm when I could not open the mail box to get the keys, I called the hosts a number of times and sent a few messages via What's App and SMS. They did not reply. In fact they did not reply until the day I was leaving, giving me instructions to check out. When I raised the mail box issue, they only apologised for not answering my call when I arrived. This is totally unacceptable.

Reviewed Dec 26, 2024Easy self check-in. Loved the sunset & aeroplane view from the rooftop! The house very nice and clean, room very spacious with many plug for you to charge your phone and laptop! Most interesting is the car park!🤩 its like in Tokyo.. If you encounter any problems during your stay, don’t hesistate to contact them. They are very helpful. Thank you mr/mrs Ling for assisted us during our stay.

Reviewed Dec 26, 2024Room is very spacious and clean. Bed is pretty comfortable too. Wifi is quite fast. Parking is automated, so we are not really worried about the safety of our car. There's also convenient stores, seafood restaurants, and Tanjung Aru beach nearby. Even going to big shopping malls like Imago only takes around 5min by car (if there's no traffic). Host also allowed us to check-in early.
I wish there's extra locks on the entrance door, so that it's more secure (kids can also reach the current door lock and handle. so it would be better to have more locks above the door handle). apart from that, everything is fine.

Reviewed Nov 16, 2024The location is 10 min walk to the beach. There are also eateries around the building. Quiet and 10 min drive away from the busy city. If you like plane watching, the rooftop is a go to for that.
There is no floor mat for the bathroom, it would be great if one could be placed there. Other than that, it is good overall.

Smooth check in and check out, and Jon is always available to help should you need anything during your stay. The pool is wonderful, and this is the second time I’ve stayed in Aru, and would definitely choose this apartment again.
The apartment is well equipped (water filter is a great feature!), but a designated hanging space or wardrobe would be appreciated.
