S.S Guest House

The guesthouse is very near to the Mandir & Dashashwamedh Ghat. All good eating joints, street food is in the same vicinity. Amit - The manager was very courteous and helpful. He was a guide to us on directions, eating joints etc. The rooms are good in size, AC in good condition with clean bathrooms and beds. It's a value for money deal. From the Varanasi railway station one has take an auto/toto/ola till a point which is barricaded and then on to cycle rickshaw to the guest house. With family and luggage its troublesome.

We've taken 3 big bed rooms and one room didn't have any almirah/cupboard. Hence, luggage and changed clothes were on the chairs or bed. Bathroom should've a DIY mop to keep it clean and dry and a light over the washbasin for shaving and brushing.

Personal super amable, nos ayudaron en todo lo que necesitamos y nos lo pusieron muy fácil. Cama cómoda, baño limpio, ducha estupenda, AC funcionando. Y muy buena ubicación, mucho mejor que dentro de las callejuelas cerca de los Ghatts, ya que te ahorras esquivar mucha basura, cacas, animales, etc, y además es accesible en tuktuk. Lo recomendamos 100%! Además no nos pidieron o presionaron para que dejaramos una reseña, como sí hacen en muchos otros sitios.

La habitación no tenia ventanas, pero según como se mire mejor, porque aún así entraba el ruido de los claxons (pero muy aceptable para lo que podía ser). En algunas superfícies de la habitación había polvo, pero no en el baño (que estaba muy limpio).

The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent—just a short walk from the ghat and the temple.

Allocated room having window AC and it’s not working properly and they have a switch outside to control the AC. They are switching it off whenever they want by informing power outage.

The staff are great at SS Guesthouse. The main manager and owner is a complete legend, nothing is too much for him. We checked in late, added an extra day, booked a boat trip through him. Great location right in the centre, the street next door is crazy busy but after all it’s in Varanasi!

Rooms were small but clean ! Big issue with wifi and bathroom was not maintained properly with towels looking very old !

The location of the hotel is good , but it is on the first floor without any lift facilities.Sometimes it is difficult for elderly people.The hotel does not have its own kitchen,so for food you have depend solely outside restaurants. Staff are very polite and cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding.

We were there during very busy days and was almost impossible to find accomodations. SS guest house was ok given the circumstances but overall not impressed.

1. No autos go the guest house..only rickshaws. Makes it difficult to go over with luggage 2. Outside look of that guest house and noisy surroundings (which most of areas around the ghaats are)

The attitude and the response from the one managing the hotel was very good and the assurance about holding the booking was great. Even after repeated requests for paying in advancer fearing cancellation, they assured that there will be no problem in the stay

Rooms are not that spacious - if you’re a few people. Guesthouse is only reachable by cycle rickshaws or walking - just something to be aware of if you have a lot of luggage. Can be noisy at night as it’s located within a busy/central area.

The manager Mr Amit Chowdary was extremely courteous and helpful. He guided me for my various requirements which was beyond his duty.

The overall hotel and room was bright (white being a theme) and looked clean. It also smelled nice and fresh. The sheets were clean, the room had enough amenities for 1 night (kettle, coffee packets, etc), warm blankets, cupboard and an AC. The bathroom was clean and everything worked. The geyser had hot water to take a shower with. The lights in the room were comfortable. The host was pleasant to talk to and was helpful with suggestions. The location of the hotel is excellent to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the ghats.

The location is quite good, within walking distance of the river Ganges and from the main ghats. The room itself is quite modern and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom, albeit a bit lacking, still provided a steady supply of hot water!

For 3 people, the room was very small, there is barely enough walking space considering that you need to place your belongings on the ground. The bathroom also has very little to no space to place your belongings and when you shower everything gets wet. It's not so comfortable. Also, due to my clumsy self, I accidentally spilled water on the bed and got the duvet and sheets wet, I was then informed that the guesthouse did not have any other duvets and so it was a very cold night. Finally, it's quite noisy, no sound insulation and in the evenings you constantly hear the hustle and bustle of Varanasi just in the streets.

The location is a totally near to Dasashwamedha Ghat. The hotel is also clean, therefore it'll be a good choice for travellers like me

Its proximity to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is so awesome. It is in the heart of the city. The location of this temple is very close to the temple. It is in the centre of the market. All shops and eateries are all around you.

Car parking was bit far from there. Rs 440 per day was being charged for keeping the vehicle in govt basement parking. The parking was about 700 mtrs from the hotel. The rooms were not spacious but quite comfortable for 2 persons stay.

The location is so convenient, walkable distance to all the major places and ghats. Clean rooms, clean and spacious bathrooms and very helpful staff, Mr. Amit specially. My friend and I stayed here for 3 days between December and January and we absolutely loved it. We went to Kashi Viswanath Mandir twice which is just few metres away from the property.

Nothing major but I wish there was a hair dryer available.

The manager was good and helpful. The location of the hotel is really good and very near to the Temple. Regarding cleanliness the hotel is clean and worth for family.

The hotel is having facilities but they need to work on as once we reached the hotel water was not working due to power cut. The duvet covers were having stains which they changed after multiple requests which as a guest I felt little irritated. On my second day there was no water in any of the toilets for both rooms from midnight till early morning. We already mentioned to the worker who was in charge during that time from midnight around 2:15 am before our Temple visit which he didn’t care and after we came back early morning around 6 am still there was no water. Then the manger again came and started the pump and thereafter it got sorted. So the workers need more training.

the rooms were very clean and staff was very friendly. they offer us good upgrade as the room we booked has some fix going on. the room with three bed was also silent.

The room was extremely tiny. The bathroom WC was broken. After requesting my room was not changed. Rooms are not cleaned daily need to keep requesting to clean the room and that also they only sweep.
