Our stay at this quiet mountain retreat was wonderful. The host gave us a very warm welcome with fresh, homemade scones and shared great tips for local eateries and sights. Nestled at the foothills of the Galtee Mountains, the remote location offered stunning views and total peace.

Not much to dislike.

Beautiful spot, Mary was so welcoming and accommodating including freshly baked pastries. Everything very thoughtfully included and decorated. Everything you could need in a very peaceful location.

A quiet little cottage located on the property. There is plenty of parking space. We received clear instructions for accessing the rental, and it had everything needed for a short stay. We also really enjoyed the traditional scones provided by the owner.

The owners are so welcoming and delightful people . They treated you as part of the family .They live on site and always happy to answer any questions and help if needed . The location is central for visiting many tourist attractions but in a very quiet peaceful location and only a few minutes drive from a village

We liked everything including the home baked soda bread. A couple of complimentary coffee pods and clothes wash tablets would have been a bonus.

The location is sensational. Magic for local walks. The place was clean, organized and had all we needed for a really pleasant break from the hustle and bustle.

The property was very modern, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Perfect for our 2 night stay for 3. Mary was an amazing host and an excellent baker who gifted us with fresh/warm soda bread and scones. It had everything we needed and was within close vicinity of the friends we were visiting. I would highly recommend this property to anyone that will be visiting the area. Cahir castle and Mitchelstown Caves are in very close vicinity and great to see if you want to do touristy things, or you can just relax and enjoy the surrounding property. I hope to be back in this area in the future and will definitely stay again.

We liked the very warm welcome and the friendly, solicitous help of our host. The lodge was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We liked the location, which was peaceful, yet within striking distance of lots of places we wanted to visit.

Beautiful property, exceptionally clean and a terrific hostess. Honestly Mary’s hospitality would make me want to go back. She picked up items in the store for me before I arrived and even baked a delicious brown bread which myself and the kids devoured with her homemade relish. Very close to beautiful walks and easy access to the motorway.

We both loved staying at Mary and Micheal's place. The apartment sits behind the main house, is very private and spacious and really well set up for a comfortable stay. There was scones on arrival and Mary went above and beyond with home made bread and pie. Loved the location- highly recommend spending some time in Mitchelstown. If you love hiking there is lots to do in this area and if you are looking to experience proper Ireland then I would highly recommend staying here.

Schoon, ruim, goede bedden, heel vriendelijke en gastvrije mensen.

Een vaatwasser zou het nog beter maken, maar heeft ook weer zijn charme om samen af te wassen.

Mary es muy simpática y estaba todo muy bonito, limpio y cómodo.

Todo muy bien, si tengo que decir una cosa simplemente que al estar una casa al lado de la del propietario parece que tienes menos intimidas. Por lo demás todo perfecto.

Thanks to Mary for the hospitality! Because this is more than just a high-quality accommodation: as a host, she does everything to make you feel good. Brand new apartment, fully equipped, excellent furniture, in a wonderful rural setting. Huge yard for children, with a trampoline. Excellent hiking opportunities, many attractions within a 1-hour drive.

A dishwasher would be a great option to save time. :)

We were provided with essential in the kitchen, teabags, milk etc. Plus complimentary brownies and soda bread. The location was great for hiking the Galtees and Knockmealdowns.

Location and comfortable and clean property, Very relaxing

Had a fantastic holiday at Galtee Mountain Lodge. It was perfect for our stay, it was spacious, very comfortable, spotless and equipped with everything we needed. Mary met us with a very warm welcome and treated us to some of her homemade Soda Bread and other treats. She gave us plenty of ideas of where to visit and eat. The Lodge is ideally placed to explore Ireland as it is central and you can be anywhere within 1 to 2 hours - we enjoyed visiting Wexford and the Hook lighthouse, Waterford and the Copper Coast, Blarney Castle and Gardens, Kinsale, Aillwee Caves and The Cliffs of Moher in County Clare as well as the Mitchelstown Caves, Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle and Swiss Cottage which are all within the local area. The Ring of Kerry is a fantastic drive to do to take in the stunning views and parts of the Wild Atlantic Way. Mary was a great host, she also runs the Galty Valley Food Truck which serves fantastic food - not to be missed if you get the chance.

We really enjoyed our stay, so much so that we could have stayed longer, if we could have.The accommodation is nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. We really felt at home. Mary is an amazing host. We were contacted before and during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We were also provided lots of advice on where to visit and where to eat. We were a group of 3 and the accommodation was a perfect size for us. This is a perfect place to base yourself if you want to visit the surrounding towns. Highly recommended. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at the place. Everything was great: beautifull rooms, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, and very warm and caring host. This is the perfect spot to just chill and relax, but can also be a good base for sightseeing. I hope to come back and will definitely recommend.
