Art Deco Beauty on The Bay Hill

A real surprise, well worth a visit.

Really lovely place to stay which has been fitted out to a high quality. Very spacious living room. Excellent shower. Added bonuses like toiletries, chocolates, games/kids books. Location amazing for Caroline Bay facilities and view. Would highly recommend.

Excellent location, lovely apartment. The beds were super comfy and TV’s in every bedroom was such a nice touch.

The location was excellent. Close to restaurants but quiet. Short walk to town. Safe and secure. Spotless! Quirky in art deco style, with old fashioned radio- that was bluetooth compatible!.👏Very comfortable beds. Loved our stay.

Nothing. As noted by the hosts the access stairs are a bit steep, but there is a hand rail. I am 80 and had no problem.

Everything!!!, clean, comfortable, fabulous view, Furniture was comfortable, decor was very funky. Beds with electric blankets were a bonus, heating was efficient and warm. Had everything we needed. Lovely chocolates too. Excellent communication Central and walkable to everywhere, bar and resturant just down the path. Garage for your car. Loved it will be back

The fit out was very Art Deco and superbly fitted out. It’s a large 2 bedroom with a big lounge and great views if the weather plays its part

Great location. Some lovely restaurants nearby and the Main Street is just up the hill. Apartment has everything you could want and is very clean.

Stairs to the apartment are steep for anyone with mobility issues, but we knew about it so can’t complain. Just something to be aware of.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was spotless, with an amazing view that made it even more special. The location is incredibly convenient,c lose to almost everything, which made getting around so easy. The hosts were also very responsive and easy to communicate with, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Art Deco Beauty literally ticks all the boxes! It is so thoughtfully decorated and has everything you could possibly want for a comfortable, peaceful holiday. The location and view of Caroline Bay are just perfect. Wished we had stayed longer.

The apartment was quiet, comfortable and trendy, plus it was central to the centre of town and had a great view of the garden and the beach. The furnishings were in the art deco style, like the building, and it had been upgraded to modern standards.

The apartment was spotless & beautifully decorated in keeping with the Art Deco theme. We loved the view to Caroline Bay, the location great for walking out to explore. Nearby Stafford Street was ideal for lunching out & a spot of retail therapy!

I could make yet another glowing review, saying it's amazing, the host is great, location is exceptional, but I'd like to focus on balance. It's hard to make a place look good on pictures, it requires great taste, and a lot of hard work, but beautiful places are often very bad to live in, impractical. It's hard to make a place convenient, where every single thing is at the right place when you need it to be, but then again, that tend to be ugly. What Art Deco Beauty on The Bay Hill achieve is the perfect balance between practicality and beauty.

It was absolutely perfect. Great views Perfect location Retro and funky but homely and comfortable Perfect for a getaway in style.

The hosts were amazing with their communication in being able to access the property with detail so all went smoothly. The location was close to the town centre with onsite parking which was secure. Everything was available in the apartment for a comfortable stay and we will definitely be looking if the apartment is available on our next visit to New Zealand.

Easy access with instructions and codes. Beautifully appointed and great location. The views were amazing and the treats were yummy. All check consideration for guests were greatly appreciated. The beds were comfortable ☺️

The location is the best in Timaru, and for the facilities, I would have expected to pay a lot more. The chocolates to welcome us were a nice touch as well. Really surprised we managed to secure a booking, I thought it would have been booked up a year ahead, especially in January

Such an amazing and well-appointed apartment in Timaru! So beautifully designed, it feels like you are back in the thirties but with all modern comfort. We loved the ocean view from the living area, reading a book there in the evening was pure bliss. It's so easy to have the garage available as well - we parked the car there and did not have to worry about finding a spot. The apartment is within easy walking distance of several restaurants, we enjoyed our dinner at Little India and Saikou (great Japanese food and cocktails), both just a 2-5 min walk away. We also walked down to the beach to see the penguins come in, we were lucky and saw one come in and walk to its nest.

I wish we had stayed longer, nothing we disliked! We will definitely recommend this place to others visiting Timaru and come back on our next visit. Only thing to be mindful of is there is a flight of stairs to get to the apartment as it's on the first floor - absolutely not an issue for us but might be for anyone with limited mobility.

Very clean. Lots of amenities, I liked the art deco styling and the views over the bay .. The beds were very comfortable and the host very helpful .

Nothing for our trip , but be aware that there are some steep steps up to the entrance which less able people might find difficult.

The apartment was amazing, furnished in art deco style in keeping with the building itself. We had everything we needed and more, the furnishings were so luxurious, scented candles, beautiful hadwashes and shower gels. Practical things like washing tablets, clothes airer, coffee pods and machine, I could go on.Definitely would recommend and stay again. Its central to the town, bars and beach, a couple of lovely restaurants 2 mins walk away. And a lovely view of the ocean from the lounge. Penguins also come to the local beach at dusk, so that was lovely to see. Only thing to be aware of it is on the 1st floor so up a flight of stairs, ok for us as fit and well but mobility issues would be an issue. 10/10 excellent!

The tastefully Art Deco themed apartment was a pleasure to stay in, and felt welcoming like a home, including espresso maker and coffee pods. Having individual secure garage for my car was a bonus. The views are great and several very good restaurants are only minutes walk away.

The apartment was extremely comfortable, cosy, and a lovely place to come back to at the end of a busy day. The owners have clearly put a lot of time and care into the details, from the thoughtful thank-you card and treat to the little coffee bar setup. It’s beautifully furnished and decorated, very warm, and in a great location with amazing views.

Nothing major, I’m a light sleeper and did notice a bit of traffic and train noise at night, but that’s just part of the location and not something the apartment/owners can control.

Perfect location, 100 meters from lovely restaurants and walking distance to town. The view was spectacular. Once we sorted parking, (as we drive a rather large vehicle that didn't fit in the garage) we were more than happy as it was off the main streets. You could certainly hear the road noise but got used to it pretty quickly. The way the apartment was furnished was super lovely and personal touches, eg: a hand written welcome card and chocolates were very welcoming. I was a little confused when we arrived but quick phone call to the owner sorted that out, followed by a text later in the evening was greatly appreciated. There is a good flight of stairs to climb upon arrival, thankfully my 81 year old mother who we took away with us is super capable of climbing them. Oh and the water pressure! My plumber husband was impressed! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many, many thanks.

Everything.. the decor the location!!! The special touches.. I took my 9 year old son and nephew.. Caroline bay park was right across the road they spent so much time there. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've stayed in! Handy location walking distance to town and the restaurant's 2 minutes walk are away are fantastic

There was nothing that we did not like. Only comment is an extra pair tongs and a bigger baking tray would be handy when staying longer than a couple of nights. We absolutely loved our stay.

The steps were a challenge, but we did know in advance they were there. The only other thing was a dryer, I was a bit confused whether the washer dried as well, but we managed with the airer.

Gorgeous Art Deco apartment with wonderful sea view in a building from the 1930‘s. So awesome! Everything was perfect with many wonderful details. One of the best places I have ever stayed at.

Amazing stay in this apartment! Very clean. It has all sorts of lovely art-deco design details and modern facilities; a great kitchen, warm mood lighting (hue customisable), high quality furniture, tv, wifi, everything you need to feel at home. Great view of the Bay and close to city centre. Private parking for your car (garage with lock). Truly a gem, do not hesitate to book.

Beautiful apartment in a lovely location overlooking Caroline Bay. It was very clean, wonderful comfy beds with luxury bedding, fantastically well equipped with everything we needed. The hosts were amazing. There are excellent restaurants a short walk away. We can highly recommend this place you wont be disappointed. 😃

We were so impressed with the location and overall presentation of this apartment and attention to detail. Very clear instructions for everything, welcome card and chocolates, lovely decor, comfortable bed and upmarket furniture and accessories. Athena was so professional, followed up when we arrived, and let me know when I left something behind. Short walk to the park, beach and restaurants. By far the best place I have every stayed in Timaru.

Excellent view, and location. Decor was a delight with many items of interest especially in the teal sideboard in the living room. Facilities lived up to the “art deco beauty” description in the apartment name.

Absolutely everything was fabulous. The decor, the space & facilities were all great. Little touches made it special and you felt very much welcomed to the property and we were well looked after. The instructions were super clear and parking was straightforward. Alhena and Carl were perfect hosts, super responsive, warm and friendly. Very professional while remaining personal and informal. Highly recommend, a beautiful apartment with a great view.
