Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Das Personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Restaurant bietet sehr viele leckere Speisen und Getränke. Mit den Guides Dimas und Dito war ich 3 Tage im Nationalpark trekken und hatte einer wundervolle Zeit!

The bungalow was beautiful, very well designed, right down to the clothes line with pegs. Loved the hammock on the verandah. Staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions or requests. Restaurant is very good, everything I had was delicious.

Only criticism would be that the teas in the restaurant were disappointing.

This place is wonderful and has an incredible vibe. The staff does a fantastic job! The guides and the reception team are wonderful. In the evening, they play the guitar, which creates such a nice atmosphere. The food is delicious, and the restaurant has the best view in the area. The natural pool with the waterfall is just amazing! It was definitely my favorite place during my entire trip and worth every penny.

Not much to complain about! You just have to accept some humidity and a slight damp smell in the rooms, but that's normal for basic bungalows in the jungle :) It would also be nice to wash the hammocks.

The Jungle Guide – Une expérience inoubliable Tout d’abord, un immense merci à toute l’équipe de The Jungle Guide pour cette expérience exceptionnelle. Dès notre arrivée à l’aéroport, notre chauffeur Iqbal nous attendait avec le sourire. Il a été d’une gentillesse, d’une courtoisie et d’un professionnalisme remarquables. Le voyage commençait déjà de la plus belle des façons. À notre arrivée à l’hôtel, nous avons reçu un accueil tout simplement incroyable. Le petit jus de melon d’eau offert à notre arrivée était délicieux, mais c’est surtout la bonne humeur, les sourires et l’ambiance chaleureuse de toute l’équipe qui nous ont immédiatement fait sentir comme à la maison. Notre bungalow, en plein cœur de la jungle, était absolument parfait. Les lits étaient extrêmement confortables et le fait de voir des singes venir se promener près du bungalow ajoutait une touche de magie à chaque journée. Le restaurant est excellent, dans un environnement paisible, relaxant et magnifique. Les membres de l’équipe sont toujours présents, souvent en train de jouer de la musique, de rire et de partager leur bonne humeur. On sent qu’ils aiment réellement ce qu’ils font. À moins de deux minutes de marche se trouve une superbe piscine naturelle alimentée par une petite chute d’eau. Un endroit exceptionnel où il est impossible de ne pas passer de merveilleux moments. Et que dire du trekking… Ce fut tout simplement l’un des plus beaux moments de notre voyage. Nos guides, Bryan (Adams)et Jackie (Chan)ont été extraordinaires. Passionnés, attentifs et profondément respectueux de la nature, ils nous ont offert une expérience authentique. Nous avons aperçu un premier orang-outan très rapidement, observé deux serpents, plusieurs espèces de singes, dont les magnifiques silver monkeys, mais le moment le plus mémorable restera sans aucun doute cette rencontre privilégiée avec une famille d’orangs-outans.

Beautiful place 😍 We didn't want to leave! The accommodation is spotlessly clean. The food is delicious and all the staff are warm and friendly. The staff are so kind and friendly. The location is absolutely stunning. The food was excellent and the seating in the restaurant was very comfortable. I had booked the “budget room” but it turned out to not be suitable so Wuan Wan (I don’t know the spelling, sorry!) moved me to Nerly’s next door.

This is NOT a criticism - just a “be aware” to other travellers. This isn’t really clear enough on the app, though the property did contact me when I booked to ask if I knew what I was booking (clearly I didn’t but this seemed to get lost in translation). The budget room is in the corner of the car park and the view is of a mound of cement. Nothing more. The shared bathroom is the one that is shared by the diners so you would have to walk through the restaurant in your pyjamas to use it in the middle of the night. They create a wonderful atmosphere there and there are people playing guitars, games and singing until late.

The people made this place truly special. Every staff member treated us like family, not just guests. the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. My son and I created unforgettable memories here.

Nous avons adoré le lieux, l'ambiance, la piscine, les repas,, les boissons... les employés sont vraiment aux petits soins et toujours présent pour toute demande. Nous avions loué 1 bungalow et 1 cabane. Un séjour de plusieurs nuits vraiment magnifique, au milieu d’une nature luxuriante.

Ce que je regrette un peu: la cabane que nous avions était très sombre et sans vue car complètement sous les arbres. Le matelas du bungalow mériterait peut-être d’être changé car il s'affaisse par endroit.

The venue is very beautiful, and I believe this is its greatest strength. The use of natural materials and the organic forms create a warm, authentic, and harmonious atmosphere that fits perfectly with the surrounding environment. The architectural language feels timeless and inviting, making the place both visually appealing and comfortable to experience. The staff is amazing and the location.

We wanted to stay longer... but it was overbooked. Anyway, we missed the warm water, but it's okay.

Mowgli, Adam, Alberto en alle anderen hebben ons een onvergetelijke tijd gegeven - Mega leuke een, twee (of meer) daagse tour die georganiseerd wordt vanuit de lodge waaraan je kunt deelnemen - Goed eten en drinken in de lodge voor ontbijt, avondeten, lunch en snacks! - Water te krijgen in de lodge - Gezellige sfeer - Vanuit de lodge kun je vervoer regelen van / naar Medan, ook dat is een aanrader

Niets dat niet beviel! Tip: Je slaapt in de jungle, dus houd rekening met: - ‘S nachts veel natuur geluiden, geen airco en een koude douche - Je slaapt op dunne matrassen - Muggen (neem spray mee en je zit goed)

Die Herzlichkeit der Mitarbeiter, man fühlte sich direkt aufgenommen. Junge Menschen, locker,lebensfroh. Die Bungalows waren wunderschön, ebenso das "Restaurant". Das Essen ist auch sehr lecker. Besonders hervorzuheben natürlich die Dachungeltour und unsere Guides Wahyu und Jordan. Ich habe so lange überlegt welche Unterkunft und die damit verbundene Dschungeltour ich nehmen soll und war einfach sehr glücklich über meine Entscheidung. Die Jungs haben das so toll gemacht. Sie waren stets hilfsbereit, freundlich, haben alles ganz liebevoll hergerichtet, ganz viel Wissenswertes erklärt. Ich hab mich so wohl gefühlt. Andere Guides die wir getroffen haben waren ziemlich überdreht, teilweise albern und laut im Dschungel. Ich wollte auch keine Dämlichkeit Blätterkrone basteln, was wir auch zum Glück nicht gemacht haben. Unser Spruch "langsam aber sicher" hat alles rundum perfekt gemacht. Das Essen auf der Tour war auch köstlich. Die Route die wir gegangen sind anstrengend abenteuerlich genau nach meinem Geschmack und Urang Utans haben wir auch gesehen. Und manche davon waren wirklich freilebend! Es war der Wahnsinn. Danke Jungs für diese tolle Tour. Übrigens können die Guides auch noch singen und Gitarre spielen, das aber nur in der Unterkunft. Definitiv immer wieder!

Eigentlich war alles super. Die Matratzen im Camp hätten etwas dicker sein können. Wir haben aber auch schon alte Knochen;-)

Nuestra experiencia fue absolutamente inolvidable. Lo primero que deben saber los viajeros es que esto no está “cerca” de Medán: desde el aeropuerto hay unas cuatro horas de coche, pero precisamente ahí está parte de la magia. Cuando llegas, entiendes que has aterrizado en otro mundo: una pequeña aldea rural junto al río, completamente rodeada de jungla y apartada de la civilización. Desde España toda la comunicación fue facilísima tanto por Booking como por WhatsApp. Respondieron siempre rapidísimo y con muchísima amabilidad, ayudándonos además a organizar todos los traslados desde y hasta el aeropuerto y también el tipo de trekking que queríamos hacer. Nos alojamos en una cabaña con baño privado y estuvimos muy cómodos. No hay aire acondicionado, pero sí ventiladores y mosquiteras, y sinceramente forman parte de la experiencia de vivir la jungla de una manera respetuosa y sostenible. Todo el alojamiento tiene una estética eco-rural muy cuidada y un ambiente humano maravilloso. Lo mejor de todo fue el trekking. Hicimos el Honeymoon Trekking de 2 días y 1 noche con nuestros guías Rismanto (“Antonio”) y Adam, y fueron increíbles. Se nota que han crecido literalmente en la jungla: conocen perfectamente las plantas, animales y caminos. El trato fue siempre cercano, cariñoso y profesional. Tuvimos la enorme suerte de ver muchísimos orangutanes y otros primates en libertad. Dormir junto al río en el campamento de la jungla fue una experiencia mágica.

¿Qué no te gustó del alojamiento? Más que algo negativo, creo que es importante que los futuros viajeros entiendan bien el tipo de experiencia que van a vivir. Esto es jungla real: hay muchísimo calor, humedad, barro y desniveles. El trekking es físicamente exigente y no es un simple paseo. Hay que venir preparado para sudar y esforzarse bastante. Personas mayores o con poca movilidad probablemente lo pasarían mal. Tampoco hay aire acondicionado, aunque sí ventiladores y mosquiteras. Para nosotros eso forma parte del encanto y de la filosofía sostenible del lugar, pero conviene saberlo antes de venir.

The cabin was nestled into the jungle, overlooking a beautiful jungle view and natural waterfall fed pool. We saw monkeys from our balcony as well! The restaurant sells lovely food which was great value for money, with a great selection for vegetarians. The staff were so lovely and made us feel so welcome. If you are interested in doing the jungle treks in Bukit Lawang, we cannot recommend the jungle guide enough. We did the 2 day 1 night tour, and it was one of the best things we have ever done. Yosia and Adam were beyond great, they knew so much about the jungle and were so kind and funny. Rio was an amazing cook and made some of the best food we have had in Indonesia ( you will never go hungry ). Cannot recommend the trek enough, especially if you’re lucky enough to do it with Yosia and Adam!

Ładnie zagospodarowany ogród.

No niestety zachęcony dobrymi notami zarezerwowałem dwie noce, były to najgorsze dwie noce z czternastu w Bukit Lawang. Za każdym razem szukałem czegoś na uboczu z dala od hałasu. Mam wrażenie że na obiekcie najważniejsze jest trekking do orangutanów i restauracja serwująca niezbyt dobre dania i w zawyżonych cenach( zważywszy że transport żywności jest bardzo łatwy). W tej że restauracji załoga próbuje pół nocy grać na gitarze i śpiewać, a że wychodzi im to bardzo słabo to tylko hałasują, nie dając nacieszyć się dźwiękami przyrody. Na szczęście nie nocowałem w sobotę bo jak się dowiedziałem grają do 2 w nocy. Kolejnym problemem wielkość pokoju na booking,com jest informacja 11m2, ale nie napisali że tyle ma z tarasem, sam pokój ma około 6m2 po odjęciu łóżka na dwie osoby i 2 plecaki zostaje jakieś 2m2 podłogi, taka mała norka. Poduszki strasznie śmierdziały, co mnie zdziwiło że już były komentarze zgłaszające ten fakt, personel przyniósł mi drugie, które też śmierdziały ale już mniej, przykryłem ją własną koszulką i już można było się położyć. Tak więc podsumowując komfortu nie znajdziecie tu żadnego, łazienka współdzielona, rano są kolejki, brak ciepłej wody. Ciszy i spokoju również tu nie znajdziecie bo hałas z restauracji nie pozwoli ci na to. Na koniec mają psa który nie jest zbyt przyjazny a lata wolno po obiekcie.

Magical place!

The whole experience was great! Se had auch a cool 2 Day Trekking Tour with the Guiness Monang and Jerry and saw animals like orang utans, monkeys, warans, colorful birds and insects. We slept in the lodge just for two nights before the trek. I can recommend having a day at the lodge to adjust to the hot climate and the place is also worth it staying at for a bit. The river is super refreshing and you can enjoy the atmosphere of being very close to the rainforest while still having the benefits of civilization. There are several good restaurants in the village at the river and the hotel has one as well with a pretty view. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The room has a great atmosphere , since you wake up in the middle of trees and have the sound of the forest when you fall asleep. It is really relaxing to sit in the hammock and just watch and listen. However, it is not luxurious. The room is small and of course it is warm. At night it gets cooler, then it’s fine and there is a fan as well. It is quite open, so theoretically insects can enter, but we did not have problems with that and there is a good net around the bed. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were smelly, I think they haven’t dried correctly after washing. If you want comfort, maybe it is not for you. If you want peace and quiet and a great nature experience, I would definitely chose this lodge, it is mich more silent and close to nature than the hotels down at the river. The trek for sure is a 100% recommend! Thank you for the great time :)

More of a hostel than a lodge. No hot water. We didn’t care for Juan to start, but when I was not around, he asked my husband if he loved his wife and suggested other women. Not sure where he was going with that but it made my husband very uncomfortable, he walked away and we left a day early.

De ontzettend lieve mensen, die er alles aan doen, zodat je je welkom voelt. Het is één warme familie samen. De lodge zijn prachtig, schoon en midden in de natuur. Hier vandaan start meteen de jungle tour.

Skvělá lokalita, ochotný personál - pomohli s veškerým zařizováním - zařídili hned na druhý den trek v džungli, poté nám pomohli se zařízením dalšího transportu. Naši průvodci na treku Yosyi a Adam byli skvělý, vše nám ukázali, vysvětlili, nebylo co vytknout.

Vzhledem k deštivým večerům bychom byli ocenili, kdyby byla možnost i sprchy s teplou vodou.

I like the place it was perfect... The only thing I would say it's that they sell you a tour in the jungle... Like everybody else in Bukit Lawang by the way. But the tour with them for me it wasn't the best... The guide we had was not enjoying is job, he said that he was tired of being a guide and wanted to be a boss after like 1-2 hours of hike... we had 3 days 2 nights !!! 🤦🏼‍♂️ So he didn't explain much and the helper didn't speak English so it's not is fault he couldn't explain things to us... And finally by looking a other groups, because your seeing alot of other groups in the hike, it's like ours was cheaper (food, mattress, sleeping blanket) not by alot but still... The place a 1000% go there !!!! 😍 The tour, I'll go search in town for another one if I had to redo it.

We fell in love with this place. First of all - the location. You feel like in the jungle (the nature around is absolutely stunning), but you are still close to the village. There are waterfalls and pools you can swim in! The cabins are cute and comfy, the restaurant has great area to hang out, good food, amazing views. We went on one day jungle tour and we absolutely loved it. They really made sure we were going to have great memories - and we do now! (we saw orangutans! so happy). And the most important thing - the staff. The people who work here are amazing, they did everything in their power to ensure we had an unforgettable stay. Do yourself a favour and stay here if you have a chance!

Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt. Wir haben uns für die 3 Tage-Tour im Dschungel entschieden. Für uns war es die beste Entscheidung. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß mit unserem Guide Antonio. Wir haben viele Tiere gesehen (Orang utans, Thomas Languren, Schwarze Gibbons, Hornbills, einen Waran, einen Pfau) Wir wurden erstklassig versorgt. Wir würden jedem die Unterkunft und die angebotene Dschungeltour weiter empfehlen :). Das gesamte Jungleguide-Team war sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit.

Wat een fantastische ervaring! Een heerlijke accommodatie, op loopafstand van het dorpje, midden in de jungle. Prachtige, kleine kamer met uitkijk op de vallei. Relaxte medewerkers, die met hun gitaar savonds voor een leuk sfeertje zorgen in de openbare ruimte/restaurant. Hele toffe plek. Daarnaast via The Jungle Guide een 2 dagen (1 nacht) trekking gedaan in de jungle, met onze gidsen Bob en Pablo (super leuke jonge jongens). Dit was ongekend mooi! Beide dagen op verschillende plekken Orangoetans gezien, fantastische natuur gezien en avontuur geslapen midden in de jungle. Dikke aanrader!

Sehr freundliches Personal, wenn man vor hat, einen Dschungel-Trek zu buchen, ist man hier richtig. Man kann die Guides schon vor der Tour kennen lernen und alle Fragen werden freundlich beantwortet. Man fühlt sich schnell dazugehörig und bekommt bei allen Fragen Unterstützung, wenn gewünscht.

Incredible location, well designed room, great staff

Sie war besonders, natürlich, so wie die Menschen hier leben. Der Naturpool war grandios, der Blick durch die Baumblätter vom kleinen Balkon, von der Hängematte aus war einzigartig. In der Lodge war immer freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung, die alle Wünsche herzlich aufgenommen haben. Wunderbar waren die musikalischen Darbietungen und Gespräche. Man sollte, wenn man eine Trekking Tour bucht versuchen, vorher und nachher noch etwas Zeit in diesem Ort zu verbringen, um etwas tiefer in das wunderbare Wesen der Menschen und des Ortes einzutauchen.

Our stay at TheJungleGuide was fantastic! The staff do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, from organising transport to and from the accomodation, to singing tunes with you at night! The inclusion of a jungle trek in our stay was the highlight! We were taken on a 1 day trek with Wahyun and the absolutely hilarious Bandito who were knowledgeable and so much fun during our trip. The food from the kitchen was nice and gave a taste of the local cuisine. Overall this was an amazing stay that we will definitely be recommending to friends back home!!

De jungle trekking met Antonio was meer dan geweldig. Super aangename gids met super veel gevoel voor humor. Ook hadden we alle dieren tegengekomen die hier te zien waren.

The cabin is beautiful! Very comfortable! And even though the bathroom is shared, it's really close and always clean. The restaurant is delicious! And the view is beautiful! But without a doubt, the best thing about it all is the staff. From the person who picked me up at the airport to everyone who works at the hotel, they all try to make you feel comfortable and like family. I definitely want to go back there. I booked my personal transport, lodging, and jungle trekk and a cooking class with them; everything was beautiful.

The most beautiful place to stay in Bukit Lawang. really feels like you are in the jungle and in nature but also so central to everything and the village. The facilities and rooms are amazing, so spotless and clean. But the most important thing is the service and the amazing people that work there. I extended my stay twice after my jungle trek (which they helped me arrange). Thank you to everyone and Wawun for being so helpful and welcoming. The restaurant and common area is also amazing and a great place to hangout and listen to guitar and some songs. My 3 day jungle trek with Bob, Rasmuli, and other Bob was also the most amazing experience I could have asked for and I would definitely do it again. The guides are incredible and so knowledgeable and it’s truly a fulfilling experience. I can’t wait to come back.

Such a beautiful place. The staff were all fantastic, singing and playing guitar, welcoming and trying their best to give everyone the best experience possible. The jungle trek was so amazing Bob, Rasmuli/Ongat Kaban, and Irwan were such great guides and fabulous cooks, we never went hungry.

The location was perfect just minutes from town and the setting was magnificent, the room engulfed by the jungle, the best place to stay, the room was amazing, the staff were friendly and happy to please, highly recommend staying here it was unforgettable.

Everything was perfect

Exceptional value for money. Rooms are clean and nicely set out with awesome views of the bush. Toilets were clean and hot shower. Best part was definitely the staff, all super lovely and have a cool vibe going on in the common area.

Beautiful accomodation to stay with the nicest and most welcoming staff (shoutout to them)! The jungle tour was a lot of fun with great guides Dimas and Adam. An experience to remember!

La atención de todo el staff a pesar de ser gente joven, son todos muy amables y nos ayudaron en sacar el bus a Toba Lake; Nata y Toto como guías en el trek fueron adorables ,gracias por la experiencia

Absolutely stunning, it felt as if I was sleeping in the middle of the jungle, yet I was so close to everything! The rooms are super cosy, I loved to use the hammock just chilling on the balcony, listening to the sounds of the stream and animals. The staff is very friendly, their restaurant serves delicious food and you also get a welcome drink.

There was only cold water in the shower.

Ha sido toda una experiencia haber estado aqui. Todo el personal es muy amable, te dan mucha conversación cuando vas al restaurante, ademas hay ratos que se ponen a cantar y da muy buena vibra. El restaurante tiene unas vistas espectaculares, la comida buenísima. Nosotros hicimos el treking de 2D1N, no hay palabras para describir la experiencia que ha sido para nosotros, nuestros guías (Wahyu y Bob, y Rio fue quien nos atendio en el campamento, sin duda los mejores) siempre súper atentos a nosotros, la noche en la jungla te da una desconexion total, sin duda se lo recomiendo a todos los que puedan ir. De ligging van de accomodatie is fantastisch. Erg fijn huisje. Goed restaurant. De jungle tour die de jungle guide aanbiedt is echt een aanrader! En in de avond is er veel gezelligheid in het restaurant!

Erg mooie bungalow met een heerlijk bed. Goede locatie ook. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel!

Geen warm water, geen airco (wel een ventilator maar dit werkt toch niet optimaal verkoelend), geen wifi in de bungalow, enkel in het restaurant.
