Très déçue car le logement que l'on a eu est très très haut, une cinquantaine de marches pour y arriver... avec des valises et sans aide du personnel, pas pratique !! De plus, un des 2 lits d'en bas est infesté de punaises de lit !! Mauvaise surprise au réveil

Wir hatten ein wunderschönes und grosses Zimmer und konnten unseren Aufenthalt voll und ganz geniessen. Das Personal ist äusserst freundlich und das Essen im Guesthouse ist super gut. Zum Geburtstag unseres Sohnes gab's sogar einen improvisierten Früchtekuchen... was will man mehr. Dieses Guesthouse ist sicher eines der besten in ganz Bukit Lawang.

La proximité et la sympathie de Tia Tia à gérer notre trek et tous les transferts

Dès l'arrivée, nous avons été accueillis par Tia et son large sourire. Elle est vraiment aux petits soins et se montre très réactive. Son équipe composée d'une cuisinière et d'un jeune veilleur de nuit est adorable. Le logement est formidablement bien situé au bout des guesthouses au bord de la rivière. Nous avons été bercés par les bruits de la jungle et celui de la rivière, la nuit. Quelquefois, les macaques passent et c'est plutôt amusant. Ils ne sont pas agressifs tant qu'on ne les nourrit pas. La vue depuis la chambre familiale est fabuleuse. Grande terrasse pour profiter. Enfin, le lit est très confortable avec sa moustiquaire (mais les moustiques ne nous ont pas dérangés). Douche nickel avec bonne pression et eau chaude. Prises électriques en nombre suffisant. Pour ce qui est des activités proposées, une fois encore c'est parfait. Le guide Kinol nous a emmené dans la jungle pour rencontrer les singes pour la journée. Il est très professionnel et à parfaitement compris ce que nous recherchions (rythme adapté, à l'écart des groupes et il connaît les endroits pour voir au mieux les primates- nous avons vu en une matinée trois Orang outans, un gibbon, plusieurs singes de Sumatra et des macaques). La descente en rafting est très chouette et sans difficulté. Nous conseillons également le bain des elephants à 1h30 de la guesthouse avec le chauffeur de la structure. La route n'est pas très bonne mais ça en vaut VRAIMENT la peine. Communion parfaite avec les pachydermes. En conclusion, nous avons passé 3 jours chez Tia et aurions voulu y passer une semaine...voire beaucoup plus.

The owner was very nice and helpful. She helped us to arrange transportation with car to/ from the lodge and to arrange trekking in the rainforest.

We had a great experience at Rambai. Tia & team were very helpful, right from organising the pick from airport to planning our activities of Jungle Trekking, Tuktuk village sighting (palm sugar making, tofu making, rice field, palm plantations) and nearby elephant washing at Tangkahan. They have a very experienced guide for Jungle Trekking who was very knowledge-able and in addition to ensuring that we could see the Orangutans, also shared lot of other details about their behaviour, habits and insights on how they compare with monkeys etc. One of the days it was raining heavily in the evening and Rambai team were kind enough to collect our food from a nearby restaurant and have it delivered to us. We appreciate their help and kind support, especially since we were travelling with kids. Thank you once again to Tia and Rambai Team!

Not something that we did not like, but for people reading the review, wanted to give a heads-up. To reach Rambai, please be prepared to walk 7-10 mins from the road and cross a narrow hanging bridge. But this effort is worth the view as the lodge is at the end from which the rainforest starts. Rambai team will take care of getting your luggage and belongings, so you just need to walk this distance and on the way you can also see some restaurants and shops.

The location of Rambai Tree Jungle Lodge is fantastic! You do need to be fit to get up the stairs but the view over the river and town is worth it! The hosts are really welcoming, as is the rest of the village! The host (Tia) organised the jungle trek for us and Kinol (the guide) was so knowledgeable about the jungle. I went alone with my daughter and he made us feel safe at all times. 💯 recommend

There is nothing that I didn’t like. The shower pressure wasn’t great but it’s likely very good given the jungle location and the bathroom was clean.

Geweldig gelegen aan de rand van de jungle. Wakker worden van de apen en in de watten gelegd worden door Tia. Zij regelde alles voor ons, taxi Medan, jungletocht, fietstour, cooking class en vervoer naar Betastagi en Tuktuk. Dud boek vooraf niet elders.

De stroom is erg instabiel, airco's zijn niet aanwezig. Wel een koele rivier.

Tia est une personne incroyable elle tient ses lodges de main de maître nous avons eu l’occasion de dormir dans les deux maisons , la première très romantique perchée dans les arbres mérite le coup d’œil avec sa vie à couper le souffle au réveil. La seconde familiale et adaptée aux enfants est elle plus récente avec tous les équipements nécessaires et l’eau chaude. Les deux maisons vous offrirons au matin un superbe réveil parmi les singes un moment hors du temps. La rivière à proximité permet de se rafraîchir. Le point fort de cet établissement est Tia la propriétaire qui est une pépite, gentille, de bons conseils elle se plie en 4 pour subvenir à vos moindres envies et surtout elle vous fera vous sentir comme à la maison et partagera sa culture. Alle positieve reviews over Tia zijn waar. Had geweldig huisje van twee verdiepingen waar 4 personen kunnen slapen. Het zijn vrijstaande huisjes met eigen opgang en ruim terras. Mijn huisje had een mobiele airco die het prima deed. (Staat bij booking. com niet vermeld.) Huisjes staan echt aan de rand van oerwoud. Binnen 10 minuten ben je vanaf huisje bij restaurants en terrasjes. Was wel fijn want ik reisde alleen. Tia heeft een officiële gids geregeld voor oerwoud tocht en het spotten van oerang-tangs. Tocht start circa 300 meter van huisje. Ik heb terugweg van tocht op raft gedaan. Het was geweldig. Ik heb bij Rambia Tree Jungle Loges het jungle gevoel gekregen. Tia bedankt🙏

Wir wurden von Tia sehr herzlich empfangen. Sie war immer hilfsbereit und sie hat die Touren und unsere weitere Fahrt zum Vulkan perfekt organisiert. Wir haben uns bei ihr sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Dschungel Tour mit Kinol war traumhaft schön, so toll durchgeplant, die Jungs waren so aufmerksam und hilfsbereit und Danke für die schöne Zeit, sie wird uns unvergesslich bleiben. The monkeys, so many monkeys...

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt! Die Lodge ist sehr schön und direkt am Fluss. Dir Besitzerin Tia war super freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Essen war sehr lecker! Die Lage war auch sehr gut, da es schön in der Natur war, aber dennoch wenige Gehminuten ins Dorf. Würden dort nächstes Mal wieder buchen!

Die Lodge ist wunderbar gelegen. Direkt am Fluss wo man auch perfekt baden kann und mit diesem unglaublich Blick in den Dschungel. Alles war sehr komfortabel und es wäre auch so schon eine 10er Bewertung wert gewesen. Die herzlichen und tollen Menschen dort (Danke an Tia und ihre Familie)machen den Aufenthalt dann aber zu etwas Unvergesslichem und ganz Besonderem! Unbedingt auch auch das Trekking direkt dort buchen, das war super (2 Tag/1 Nacht gebucht)

Er was op dat moment geen Engels sprekend personeel aanwezig, erg afgelegen plek waar de apen overal liepen. We besloten daar toch maar niet te slapen maar ze wilden het geld niet teruggeven.

Fantastiskt och lugnt läge i utkanten av byn med älv och djungel utsikt med apor i direkt närhet. Här bor du privat på djungel-sidan av älven på en famliljär lodge med endast 2 bungalows. Vi hade en orangutan på lodgen en morgon. Bästa service och omtanke från personalen. Man blir mycket väl omhändertagen. Ska du gå djungel trekking, boka med lodgen. Verkligen proffsig, kunnig och lyhörd guide.

We stayed at Rambai Tree Jungle Lodge and it was honestly one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had. The setting is incredible — sitting on the balcony overlooking the jungle and river is something we’ll never forget. Such a peaceful, special place to just slow down and soak it all in. Tia, the host, is absolutely amazing. We organised pretty much everything through her, and I couldn’t recommend that enough. She arranged our jungle trek guide, who was fantastic, and also organised our driver Wahyu, who drove us from Medan and then on to Lake Toba. Wahyu was great — friendly, reliable, and made the long drives feel easy. Tia went above and beyond at every step and genuinely made our stay what it was. We’ll never forget the experience or her incredible hospitality. If you’re considering staying here — do it, and book everything through Tia. You won’t regret it.

The location is good beside the streams. The host, Ibu Tia is a very nice lady and has entertained me and family well. My little girl has made friend with Ibu Tia and the staff. They have shown excellence hospitality to my little girl by playing card and spent time with her. We feel very safe and comfortable with the environment. Definitely will come back with my other girls.

Sehr positiv ist uns die Gastfreundschaft von Tia & ihren Angestellten aufgefallen. Sie haben alles möglich gemacht. Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig und sauber. Die Auswahl an Speisen reicht von der Abwechslung für mehrere Tage. Die schöne Gemeinschaftsterrasse lädt zum Entspannen nach der JungleTreckingTour - haben wir auch über sie gebucht - ein. Die beiden süßen Katzen runden den Aufenthalt ideal ab. Wenn wir noch mal nach Bukit Lawang reisen, dann definitiv wieder zu Tia.

Keine festinstallierte A/C. Als Ausgleich stehen eine mobile A/C, zwei Deckenventilatoren & nachts die kühle Luft vom Fluss zur Verfügung.

Staff was kind and caring. Breakfast was good (but not included).

There was only wifi outside the bungalow

La ubicación muy bien, a la orilla del Río es más, te puedes incluso bañar.Trato muy personalizado, nos organizaron el transfer desde el aeropuerto y la excursión de trekking por la selva no tuvimos que ir a ningún sitio. La habitación muy amplia y limpia, una experiencia auténtica, incluso ruidos nocturnos de la selva.

Del hotel nada, si quieres dormir temprano tiene un pub enfrente con música que puede molestarte.

Fantastic stay, with very helpful people around — especially the host, Tia. The chalet is beautifully located at the edge of the village, next to the jungle and by the riverbank. Everything was just perfect!

Die Gastgeberin Tia hat sich um alles super gekümmert, egal welches Anliegen man hatte (Dschungeltrekking, Transfer usw.). Der Kontakt mit ihr vorab war sehr hilfreich. Sie ist herzlich und man kann sich gut auf Englisch mit ihr unterhalten. Sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen kann man bei ihr bestellen. Egal was sie gekocht hat, alles war sehr lecker und auf unseren Wunsch hin nicht scharf 😁 ... Sollten wir mal wieder in der Gegend sein, werden wir auf alle Fälle diese Unterkunft wieder buchen. Lieben Dank für die tollen, erlebnisreichen Tage.

L'accueil et la serviabilité de notre hôtesse, nous avons été accueillis avec un jus de fruit, on est venu nous chercher dès la sortie du kejak (la gare de bus est excentrée de l'emplacement des hébergements touristiques). La vue était splendide, directement sur le torrent à l'extrémité du village, avec juste les singes comme voisins. Possible également de prendre ses repas sur place. La proprio nous a organisé le treck dans la jungle au top.

Prachtige locatie op de rand van de jungle, wakker worden met de op het dak springende aapjes. Tia is een super gastvrouw en doet dat geweldig met haar team. Zowel het ontbijt als het diner zijn super lekker. Andere restaurants op wandelafstand.

Topissime, nous avons adoré. Lieu très sympa, rivière juste en bas où vous pouvez vous baigner sur la gauche, au calme. L’hôte Tia, très gentille et arrangeante qui pourra tout organiser pour vous, merci encore! 😊

Nous avons eu un peu chaud la nuit car pas de Clim mais n’oublions pas que nous sommes à côté de la jungle. Nous rêvons quand même de revenir 😍

Wat een prachtig huisje op een schitterende plek. Tia was zeer behulpzaam en regelde een jungletrekking voor ons. Ook konden we er ontbijten wat prima was. Goede comfortabele bedden. We hebben er een fijne tijd gehad.

De klamboe boven het eenpersoonsbed was gescheurd, waardoor onze dozhter alsnog gestoken werd. En de klamboe boven het tweepersoonsbed is van erg dik materiaal. Hierdoor voel je de ventilator die boven het bed hangt niet en wordt het erg warm. Aangezien er geen airco is (logisch in de jungle), snak je naar een beetje frisse lucht in de vochtige hitte..

Het thuiskomen bij Tia, wat een ontvangst. Allemaal enorm lieve mensen die te allen tijde voor je klaar staan. Deze plek gun ik iedereen die naar Sumatra gaat! Het was elke keer een klim naar de hoogste kamer maar het was het allemaal waard!

La guesthouse familiale par excellence. Seulement deux chambres pour un accueil et une attention hyper personnalisés. Nous avions la chambre en hauteur, la tête dans les arbres, dominant ainsi la jungle. La vue est apaisante et fascinante. Vous aurez droit à la visite des singes qui passent chaque jour par le toit et la terrasse. Ils ne sont pas farouches et l’expérience de proximité vaut le détour. Pour la chambre en elle même : un grand lit (180) assez confortable et deux petits matelas (90) en bas. Chacun a sa moustiquaire mais il y a seulement quelques moustiques. Il fait un peu chaud mais c’est la jungle après tout et vous n’êtes pas dans un Resort. Cependant, il suffit de caler le ventilateur à l’intérieur de la moustiquaire et le tour est joué. La sdb est grande, l’eau tiède mais vu la chaleur ça suffit. Inutile d’aller manger au village puisque les plats proposés par Tia sont sincèrement excellents, très bien cuisinés, jamais trop épicés et accessibles (1 à 2€ le plat). Nous avons fait tous nos repas sur place avec plaisir. On en profite aussi pour discuter avec Tia qui est adorable et bienveillante. On a vraiment l’impression d’être chez l’habitant. Petit plus : la rivière où l’on peut se baigner. Une petite mise en garde cependant mais indépendante de l’hôtel : chaque samedi soir, la guesthouse Thoma’s Retreat, qui se situe à 100m du Rambai, a la lumineuse idée d’organiser un concert-live-karaoké de 21h à 3h du mat. La sono est à fond et absolument tout la village en profite ainsi que la jungle alentour. Cet excès sonore est assez lunaire, n’imaginez donc par dormir paisiblement et éviter de programmer votre trek le dimanche. Je garde cependant le meilleur pour la fin : le fameux trek dans la jungle. Organisez le avec l’hôtel. Le guide et son acolyte sont top de top et vous dénicheront quantité d’orangs-outans (nous en avons vu une bonne dizaine de notre côté) tout en veillant à votre sécurité et celles des enfants. L’expérience est inoubliable.

Geweldige locatie en fantastisch lieve mensen. Heel behulpzaam. Aapjes lopen in de ochtend over je dak en na een heerlijk ontbijtje wordt je begeleid naar de jungle, waar de gidsen je al even vriendelijk als Tia helpen. Fantastische ervaring en zeker een aanrader.

Niets. Het was een schone accomodatie met alles wat je nodig hebt. Super uitzicht en lieve mensen..wat wil je nog meer?

We vonden alles fantastisch. De eigenares, de locatie, de kamer waar we prima met z’n vieren konden slapen, de apen op t dak, de rivier voor de deur, het eten. Alles.

We stayed in the tree house and loved the view and balcony - bathroom downstairs was cool - booked hike through them too which was fantastic - tia is a fantastic host and makes you feel at home- one of the better choices given proximity to jungle

This is juste the perfect place ! At the end of the village, so more quiet, front of the gorgeous river. My bungalow was huge and very charming. But most of all Tia welcome you in the best way. She's very kind and gives very good advices, so you can trust her to organise a treck in the forest. I did it and it was a magic moment ( and physical ! ). I love Bukit Lawang, it's a very beautiful place and you can trust me : go to Rambai Tree Jungle lodge you will love it !

This is the most amazing place to stay. I've been to the jungle in India, Borneo and the Phillipines but Rambai Tree Eco Jungle Huts not only provided the most comfortable accommodation but they made us feel like family ❤️🙏. Romi and Tia communicated efficiently and clearly from the moment I booked, several months ago. They provided a very reasonably priced, friendly and knowledgeable return airport shuttle - Wayhu, and the best guides - Ronie and Nanda. We saw Orangutans, Gibbons, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and a monitor lizard in just a half day trek! As well as being visited daily by the local Macaque troop and several large bats. Tia cooked us the most fantastic farewell dinner and we were genuinely sad to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for them ❤️

The owner helped us to arrange the guide and airport taxi before arrival! When we arrived, my friend was not feeling well so the owner managed to change the duration of the trek and suggest other activities. Also, she managed to extend the stay and we kept the same room (from 1 night to 4 nights). We were pleased with nice food and hospitality like delivering food or tea to our room! Our room was upgraded to the family room which was more accessible from the river. I highly recommend this place!

We went as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They arranged our transport from and to the airport, as well as our trekking into the park. The guide was excellent and we had an extra assistant to help with the kids who was also very friendly and helpful. I would recommend booking all these extras through them. It is a beautiful setting on the river. The cabin was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. They can serve food and have cold drinks for sale. The children really enjoyed playing on the rocks and swimming in the river. Overall a very good experience and highly recommended.

The shower only had cold water, but considering the location and weather it wasn't too much of a problem, still a very enjoyable stay.

Staff were excellent, Mr 1000- was very funny :) Robin the guide on our Orangutan trek was very good, highly recommended. Tia was a wonderful host.

Nice balcony with a view. Big bed and one extra bed down stairs. The bed downstairs is quite cooling.

Water pressure not so strong and the water can get a little too hot. Also due to raindrops/branches kept falling on the rooftop, can be a little noisy to sleep at night. Or maybe it was just our luck that time during raining season.

Beloved the personal attention devoted to us by all staff, especially Tia...who's cooking is amazing !

The mould and odour in the top lodge was overpowering and the stairs ate uneven, inconsistent height and steep.

Tia makes the besttt food, never disappoints. In addition to that, the beds are very comfortable and big.

Our stay at Rambai Tree lodges was magical. Tia was incredibly helpful and the people in general who work for Rambai and within Bukit Lawang are so so lovely. She helped sort us out with a guide to go and see the Oragutans and we managed to see 8 of them in one day. The guides are knowledgeable, interesting and passionate giving a wonderful overall experience. The food was exceptional and Tia is a phenomenal cook, always providing us with delicious fresh fruit afterwards. The location was exceptional, right on the edge of the National Park and with the roaring sound of the river outside, it was big, clean and comfortable. When we arrived we were greeted by Thomas Leaf monkeys on our porch, it was truly magical and I would recommend this place in a heart beat.

All was grear

We stayed there before and after a 4 day jungle trek during the low/wet season. The bungalow was located on the river, right at the edge of the jungle. There are frequently macaque and Thomas's leaf monkeys in the trees and jumping on the roof. You can leave non-food items on the patio (like clothes drying after the jungle), but the host advised us to keep the door locked when we aren't around to keep them from coming in. We specifically chose somewhere without AC to acclimatize to the temperature and humidity, but ventilation inside was good. Porters met us at our taxi to carry the luggage through the village and across the bridge, which was appreciated.

Small annoyance: the fan above the bed need to be rebalanced, as it starts shaking too loudly to sleep with it on. Big annoyance, but applies to all of Bukit Lawang: every Saturday night, Thomas's Retreat plays excessively loud music until 3 or 4 in the morning (as in, enough to push away local wildlife). Definitely don't plan to start a trek on a Sunday morning from any accomodation.

The views are stunning and Tia and the stuff are amazing. So welcoming and helpful. They also helped me to get the guide for the orangutan trekking excursion.

Everything was perfect, the only thing that I could say is that the mosquito net was too thick (more like a bed sheet) so the air from the fan couldn’t go through so it was a bit hot and humid in the bed.

We had a great time at the Rambai Tree Jungle Lodges. Tia is an amazing host and we felt right at home from the beginning. She was very helpful with organizing transfers and a jungle expedition. The food was great and the Bintang was cold. Thank you for the warm welcome!

The location of this place is perfect and the view is amazing. Close to the village but not to close. Please make more of an effort for your guest then you have an amazing place.

We where welcomed with there is your place here is the key (young guy). Not a hello or something but really unpersonal. When we entered the room it was fine but not how you expect it. There was some Gekko shit on the floor (I understand we are in the jungle) but you can expect that to be clean on arrival. There was also dried cement on the floor which you can easily get of but there is just no love for the house from the owners. After telling them it was cleaned so that is good ofcourse. One thing what I do think what was really bad is the breakfast it was not made with any love (lets say ot like that) After that we had breakfast somewhere else everyday.

Honestly at first when we arrived at night, it was raining heavily, we were shocked to find this property was the only one with no electricity. Turned out there was a blackout due to a tree fall, and they don‘t use a generator, which is actually a good thing that we support. We love everything about our stay, comfortable room where we saw different animals, including some monkeys from the balcony. Everyone working here were very helpful and kind. Certainly a place to stay, when you appreciate nature like us, and not bothered by the hike going upstairs.

Wauw, what an amazing place to stay. The view is just stunning from the big relaxing balcony. The bed is big and nice. The owner is the sweetest you can ever imagine, she really helps you with everything you want and is the best chef cook, fantastic

10/10 recommend staying at this place when visiting Bukit Lawang. Tia the owner is the nicest and most helpful host and made sure all my questions and organizational issues (like figuring out how to get from Bukit Lawang to Banda Aceh) got taken care of super quick and with so much care. I also took a cooking class with her which was really cool and the driver Wahyu that picked me up from the airport was also such a nice person to have met. The 2 days 1 night Jungle Trek I organized with them also was really great! Our main guide Jojo was so knowlegable and fun and made sure we had a great experience. I especially loved how attentive he was with me being vegan and made sure I got really great food during the 2 days. Nando and him were a great team to guide us through the Jungle! I was travelling alone and stayed in the upper room for 2 nights and really loved my time there. You can really tell that this place is run with a heart and i couldnt have felt more welcomed and at home away from home :). Apart from the team the location of the place is also just extra special! Thank you so much for everything, would love to come back someday :)

Great location next to the river where you can swim and next to the jungle, so be sure to hear and see apes. The owner/staff is very friendly and supportive and prepared also local food for us. We had the two apartments for our family of 7. The rooms are clean, pretty new and have lots of atmosphere. We would stay here happily again for sure

The room is beautiful and huge. Nice spot also but overall the people working there are so lovely and helpful. You can also trust their guide for the jungle trek. Ours was perfect and fun!

The location is amazing. The room was big and comfortable with a great balcony with beautiful view. The staff were lovely and did so much for us. The food was delicious too. We would definitely recommend and

The best part was the location - simply the last cottage in the village, bordering the jungle. Tia - the manager was amazing and did all her best to make our stay pleasurable. The Guide recommended by Tia was very good!

Be ready to walk long stairs if you book a smaller cottage. The family cottage is down, no stairs for it.
