Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Stunning landscape and exceptionally comfortable rooms. The spa was great too, with thermal experience to go with our treatments. Went in winter and loved it. What really made our stay was the thoughtful touches and attentiveness of all the staff we encountered. Coming back to our room we found surprises and that the room is kept fresh, and porters ready to welcome and see you off which was incredibly efficient. Only 30 minute journey to the airport, 20 minutes to V&A waterfront, making it out of the centre but for the best reasons (tranquil by the vineyards and mountains). Best of all near the lovely Kalk bay - perfect for a short trip out (16 mins). We especially loved the breakfast at the on site restaurant - we could tell the chef put in a lot of care.

Reservamos um quarto por 6 dias, de 26/4 a 1/5, no entanto por imperativos de saúde tivemos de fazer o check-out dois dias antes. Uma semana antes do check-in comunicamos tal preocupação tanto a Booking (sem qualquer resposta) e ao Hotel. Aquando do check-in voltamos a manifestar a mesma preocupação na recepção do hotel, tendo nos sido informado que caso vendessem as últimas duas noites a um outro cliente, reembolsariam-nos o valor através do cartão de crédito. No dia do check-in voltamos a manifestar a mesma preocupação mas até ao momento não fomos contactados pelo hotel e muito menos pelo booking.com. Ultimamente é praticamente impossivel entrar em contacto com a booking para alterar a reserva. No passado era possivel contactar até por via telefónica, facto que é de lamentar.

Reviewed Apr 14, 2026Everything about Steenberg was fantastic, we spent 5 nights there in April and would happily have stayed another 5! The staff are phenomenal, so friendly, welcoming and warm. We loved our room and the turndown service each night. Breakfast was superb, accompanied by views over the mountains. There were also brilliant small touches, such as a shuttle into cape town and being booked for dinner in the delicious Tryn after a long flight
I'm scraping the barrel but the shampoo and conditioner weren't my favourite and the pool is in the shade - but, if you're a sun worshipper like me, there's a sunny patch to the side

Reviewed Apr 4, 2026This is our second time staying at Steenberg. It continues to be one of the most exceptional hotels. Rooms are large and beautifully furnished. Food and wine choices are exquisite and fantastic value. All of the staff (across the hotel and restaurants) are so welcoming and offer gold standard service.
There is nothing not to love about Steenberg.

Reviewed Apr 3, 2026Sehr schöner Garten, wunderschöne Hotelanlage. Unser Zimmer mit eigener Terrasse war sehr großzügig modern und komfortabel eingerichtet. Alles sehr sauber. Personal sehr freundlich. Bistro außergewöhnlich gut und sehr zu empfehlen. Frühstück im Restaurant hervorragend, alles frisch und sehr schön angerichtet.
Poolanlage ist leider sehr schattig und dunkel da durch zu viele Bäume keine Sonne durchkommt.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026Schöne Anlage, und sehr weitläufig. Tolle Möglichkeit zum laufen, joggen etc. Zimmer sind sehr unterschiedlich, schwer einzuschätzen was genau man “bekommt”. Pool area ist klein aber sehr gepflegt.
Die Mitarbeiter sind nicht gleichbleibend freundlich und aufmerksam.

Der Service war leider teilweise sehr bemüht, aber hat falsche Aussagen getroffen, so dass wir unseren Wein Wine Tasting nicht machen konnten. Aber sonst war der Service super freundlich und aufmerksam. Insgesamt top Service.

We got severe food poisoning from eating dinner at their bistro on first night and have been sick for over a week and management still didn’t get back to us. We have had to go into a hospital and are on antibiotics, and doctors confirmed it was food poisoning.
