Il veut que l’on se sente bien chez lui La maison est très grande, facile d’accès et proche de Nelson. Chambre confortable et très propre. Le jardin est somptueux et magnifiquement entretenu.
Le petit déjeuner industriel et manque de générosité personnelle. Rien n’est fait maison, c’est dommage dans un aussi beau lieu, ça mériterait un investissement personnel. La maîtresse de maison se fait rare

so this info is really for those whom would be bothered by this, this place is of an exceptionally high standard and is very clean, but here in lies the problem for traveling business people, due to the high standard we were asked to take off our shoes at the door, so as not to damage the floor and make the place dirty, which is not a problem if its your home, but when you are traveling for business and you are in and out often this becomes a real nightmare, the bedrooms are tight to move around in, but do able there is no aircon, break fast is not up to scratch

Set back along from the highway down a long dirt lane, this B'nB has the decor and ambiance of an elegant English estate. It has lovely, large shared sitting and dining rooms. Our bedroom and private bathroom were large, meticulously clean and comfortable. Free laundry was available. In the morning, the self-serve breakfast was an cornucopia of delicious offerings. When requested, the owners were available and helpful. We had to drag ourselves away in the morning. Good value. Highly recommended.
No dislikes come to mind.

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026Located in a more rural area. The room was bright, clean and comfortable and there’s a big garden and spacious common area. A laundry room with a washer and dryer was a big plus. A well equipped common kitchen allowed us to cook our diner.
It was totally fine for us, but it’s worth mentioning that a car is needed to get to supermarkets, restaurants etc.

For breakfast they filled up the fridge and we manage our self. Every room has it's one bathroom and they provide toiletries. We had a very nice time here!

Reviewed Jan 6, 2026Charmantes Haus im britischen Kolonialstil eingerichtet mit etwa 6 Zimmern unterschiedlicher Grösse. Schöne Gartenanlage drumherum. Höchst zuvorkommende Besitzer, die im Nebenhaus wohnen. Die Küche und alle anderen Gemeinschaftsräume als auch die umlaufende Terasse waren einfach toll. Man hat sich willkommen und wie zu Hause gefühlt. Es stand immer frisches Obst auf dem Tisch. Zum Frühstück gab es etwas selbst gebackenenes, aber auch alles andere war ausreichend vorhanden.
Da wir insgesamt 2 Monate unterwegs sind, hatten wir etwas mehr Gepäck. Für 2 grosse Koffer gab es im Zimmer 1 nicht genügend Platz. Das Haus ist nach hinten versetzt weg vom Highway, trotzdem hört man die Strasse etwas (zumindest von den Zimmern oben, die nach vorn ausgerichtet sind).

Breakfast options limited but responded to requests for other options. Communication quite difficult - hostess spoke little English and host didn't always understand our requests.

He and his wife were excellent hosts, and having travelled extensively around the world, we would rate our stay at the Captains B&B one of the very best.

Reviewed Oct 6, 2025Breakfast was left out for us. Plenty to eat and a good selection. Large communal kitchen, well stocked after everything was eventually found. Spent a lot of time looking for equipment.
There were no tea/ coffee facilities in the room which would have been nice, otherwise we had to keep going downstairs. We stayed for 2 nights so either give fresh towels or put in a heated towel rail. I really don’t like using cold damp towels. Somewhere in the bathroom to put toiletries eg a shelf or small table as there was no space around the sink.

We arrived late in the night in heavy rain, which made the house seem a little spooky at first. Would recommend arriving in daylight to avoid that misconception
