Visited in winter. Heating struggled and no electric blankets so rather cold at night.

Reviewed May 13, 2026There were some delicious muffins on arrival but only basic tea, instant coffee and milk otherwise. Plunger coffee and a little muesli would have added another dimension. Cleaning and dishwasher facilities were all provided and the cottage was well appointed and clean. The cottage itself and the whole are is very attractive and the hosts lovely.
The area around the cottage is truly beautiful but access up to it was a bit "rural" with steep stairs. It was very slippery and boggy underfoot in the wet and not that great for oldies especially. A smaller less steep access from in front of the car parking area and up the other side of the verandah is suggested.

Lovely private cottage, nice furniture and fittings.Great to have a washing machine too. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden and stream. Jude and Shaun were very accommodating and helpful.
This isn't a dislike just a suggestion. A few more hooks around the cottage would help, also a full length mirror on the wall in the bedroom.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026We stayed at Willow Cottage which is lovely all around - a perfect place to get engaged :) Very clean and with everything you need to be comfortable. Although very central, it still feels secluded. The gardens are lush and beautiful and Jude is a very thoughtful host.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026The cottage and overall environment was really beautiful. You could tell that you were in an environment that had much love put into it. The location was excellent, close to everything. The cottage was really well equipped and very clean. The host was very likeable and welcoming and gave us tips about exploring the area. We thank her for an amazing stay. We will stay there again if we come back.

The place is nestled in the heart of an extraordinary garden, a charming little independent house, perfectly equipped with everything you need to feel at home. The decor, thoughtfully designed with great taste and attention to detail, creates a warm and soothing atmosphere. Everything was comfortable from start to finish. We had the joy of waking up each morning to the song of the birds, a real delight. CJ and Jude were wonderful, welcoming, and attentive. A huge thank you for this unforgettable stay! I recommend it without the slightest hesitation.

Reviewed Oct 5, 2025The cottage was well-stocked with what we needed, including laundry facilities. Fantastic location. Walkable to the beach through a reserve accessed just off Tutaritari road. Felt very private and comfy, on a stunning bit of land with it's own sprawling garden and stream! Hosts were very responsive and kindly accommodated a last-minute change for us. Would recommend booking a boat ride with Hahei Explorer that leaves right from Hahei beach. We also loved the Pourhouse being so close and our date night at The Church bistro for dinner up the road. Such a great little getaway. Thank you for sharing your world with us for a smidge in time! Very jealous of the local lifestyle here.

Reviewed Jun 28, 2025The cottages were wonderful and perfectly located in Hahei, the shops, brewery and near the start of the walk to Cathedral Cove. The Cottages were spotless with everything one would need for a short or long term stay. Bed was very comfortable and it was lovely having breakfast on the sunny balcony.
Would only recommend a couple of solar lights on the way to the far cabin to make it a little easier to navigate. Other than that it was perfect.
