Great breakfast, lovely and clean, good base for exploring local area.

Very well appointed and clean
The Queens Hotel is actually a pub which offers rooms in annexes off a courtyard behind the pub. It is a very popular pub and when we arrived its evening session was in full swing - very noisy and crowded with lots of young locals having a lovely time. We were a bit concerned that the noise would be problematic but the annexe courtyard is closed to the general public from 9pm and only guests staying in the rooms have access from that time. Therefore once you had come through the melee, you were able to escape the noise. The location of the property is great. Right in the center of Buxton. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and functional, if much smaller than expected. Breakfast was very good - the staff really tried hard to give great service and meet individual requests as best as possible. Well done and thank you.
Luckily the weather was great so we were able to sit and have a quiet drink and read in the outside courtyard reserved for guests after 9pm. Had the weather been inclement one would have been stuck in one's room as the pub was not conducive to a quiet drink and reading or chatting with friends in the evening as it is very popular and has lots of loud music and patrons. We had not been expecting the property to be a busy pub but as said before, the noise did not disturb you once in your room.
Clean room in a good location. Helpful staff. Off road parking for our two motorcycles. Central location.
Not sure it was worth £120 for the room / room size? Breakfast was extra.
Location excellent for exploring Buxton
Nothing
Room was really lovely, clean, spacious, good bathroom was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was as it's in a very traditional pub so wasn't expecting it to be quite so nice. Staff on our first night were really lovely as well, can't fault them. Also as you go through the pub courtyard to get to them was expecting racket; not at all! They were almost like little apartments, genuinely very cute.
All very nit-picky things. Overall it was a good stay. -Too noisy, not even from the pub our window led out onto the street and constant noise. -Window only opened slightly so no air to the room making it uncomfortably muggy. -We asked on arrival for extra milk and tea for the room and a lovely lady gave it to us only for the person who cleaned the room the next day while we were out to take it away again and then no one would give us more claiming they didn't do milk sachets. -Sky didn't work though not the end of the world normal TV did. -Bed was huge which was brilliant but solid as a rock! genuine bad back from sleeping on it. -A bit out of the the tourist bit of town however lots of places to eat and drink very close.
Clean room, fabulous en-suite, hairdryer and fan
I have stopped here twice before. This time we woke up a few times in the night due to the shouting from the street which was still apparent at 4am. We thought the bar prices were expensive and the cooked breakfast was bare minimum and not good value.
What a team and what a find! From the minute we crossed the threshold, we were made immediately and thoroughly welcome. What ambassadors for Buxton! Our room was perfect and comfy, breakfast delicious (both cereal fan and scrambled egg fan very happy!). The location is brilliant. 10/10. A huge thanks / recommendation!
Nothing!
Busy pub and the accommodation was at the back and well away from the lively main area. Very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Lovely place.
Nothing
Great central location and all the staff were super friendly Considering how packed the pub gets my room was super quiet
Great value. Perfect for an overnight stay on a cycling trip. Clean and comfortable room. The host provided secure overnight cycle storage.
I have stayed often at this hotel. Always very clean, quiet and helpful staff.
Nothing
Excellent location in the middle of Buxton, very clean and tidy; a comfortable room to stay I .
The room is situated looking out over a pub courtyard and so could get noisy in the evenings and in the afternoon I arrived there was a live band playing in the courtyard which was extremely loud.
Location was excellent Staff very welcoming
No parking provided Room a little tight and very hot even with window open
Very nice room, excellent bathroom. Breakfast excellent (for only £12.50), with cheerful service. Bang in the middle of Buxton High Street - great location, yet very little noise. There was a fan provided - useful in this summer.
I always like a proper armchair to sink into, but there wasn't. Like all hotels, more expensive than I like!
Stayed here twice and can't fault it from signing in to leaving staff been great. Rooms are just right and cleaned and brew kit replenished everyday. Breakfast is great not to big or small and cereals also on side. Bands on in pub and does get busy but it's not loud. And it's great spot for your travels round Buxton.
Nothing to dislike.
Very comfortable beds, in a room at the rear of the bar area and very quiet. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. The hotel is close to Market Square parking but this is not available overnight on Friday and Monday nights due to market stalls setup. Up a steep hill from the Opera House.
No complaints ..easy polite check in. Clean comfortable room. Great hosts.
The room was fine, and the bathroom was as expected. The cleanliness was good, and I was satisfied with the overall standard. I didn’t need a full breakfast, just a cup of tea, and it was served very nicely by a polite and friendly waiter with a lovely smile. I really appreciated the warm and pleasant service.
The room was on the ground floor, and the hotel was essentially a pub/bar. The only window in the room opened directly onto the pub garden, where guests were sitting and socialising. This meant that I did not feel comfortable opening the window, as people could easily see into the room and it felt as though they were almost sharing the room with me. As a result, the only option was to keep the window closed and stay inside the room, which was particularly uncomfortable given the warm weather. At the same time, I had to deal with a considerable amount of noise from the pub and its guests. I also did not feel comfortable leaving the hotel because I had to walk through the bar area to get outside and access the surrounding area. For someone like me, walking through a crowded bar is not a comfortable or pleasant experience. Overall, I did not feel comfortable or relaxed during my stay, mainly because of the location of the room, the lack of privacy, the noise, and having to pass through the bar whenever I wanted to go out.
Super clean
Having to walk through the busy bar
Room was clean and comfortable, sadly no air-conditioning like the rest of the hotel. Staff were all welcoming and smiling. Breakfast was tasty.
Bedroom was a little warm could open the window as downstairs onto a residential street. Most of the hotel looked air-conditioned sady not our room.
bra frukost
först fyra dagar utan städning, sen tre med
My room had an adjacent annexe with two comfortable chairs. My fellow traveller had a room above mine but only with bedroom. Both were very comfortable, cleaned daily and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good and served promptly, efficiently and with regard to food allergies. Despite being atrached to a public house, the hotel rooms are quiet.
Whilst breakfast was good and plentiful, perhaps some fruit might be included or a range of fruit juices rather than just orange juice. The room over my bedroom creaked a lot when the occupant moved about which was noisy. On one occasion a staff member pressured me to take a particular table at breakfast when the room was empty. I chose where I wanted to sit.
The room was spacious, comfortable and recently renovated. In particular the bathroom was very nice. Despite being adjacent to the beer garden it was also very quiet. It's literally in the center of town, 50 meters from the main square, pubs and shops.
Nothing really
Nice room with friendly staff . Freshly cooked breakfast

Welcome from staff
Nothing
Location, staff, cleanliness, rooms.
Nothing, but would have got a 10 with on site parking.
Set back from the pub and main road, it was quiet. The staff were very friendly. The room clean and tidy and the breakfast options adequate.
Nothing.
Room was well appointed, quite large, comfortable bed and good shower - very nice
no tea spoon, but sorted by staff quickly
Good accommodation and great breakfast
The room was great and cosy, well furnished and the bathroom and shower were great to use. Fantastic location too, easy to get about from. I really liked that the room came with a plug-in fan.
The only thing I was missing was a minibar/mini fridge! But that was honestly a very very minor flaw.
Comfortable accommodation and very helpful staff
Basic accomodation but clean and comfortable..Pub with rooms.Room well decorated.Staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient pay parking available in the square
Breakfast well cooked but limited if you didnt want a cooked meal. Steep hill up from the town centre if you are disabled
Very friendly and helpful staff and really good location
The room no10 we stayed in was unbearable hot even the staff commented on it
Pls, wifi very bad. And if something is not done about it, you will likely lose customers because they will come and afterwards due to poor network service in the hotel, will not show up nest time. Also the washrooms muast have a door mat on the floors so that as as you step out of the bathroom, you step on it.
Network service
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and good breakfast .
Good central location, helpful and friendly staff.
Rooms slightly dated, but had everything we needed.
The rooms are clean and furnished simply but well. Excellent shower room. Very nice staff. Great location.
Only small problem was how hot the room was in the exceptionally hot weather; my friend’s room had an air conditioner so was fine.
Very friendly staff. Felt safe for a single female. Clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. Perfect location in the center of Buxton.

Buxton the town and countryside are beautiful
Room was small
very well kept room
Clean
The description was nothing like the actual place extremely misleading. The doors slammed back on themselves so kept us awake both nights. Room and ensuite tiny really really small
Very friendly staff, room was extremely good and clean. Breakfast was great, if you are in Buxton then it's brilliant for getting to where you want.
The only thing I can come up with is the fact that they don't do food in the evenings. However, this is not a criticism. The staff were quite happy to give me recommendations of places to eat, very knowledgeable. Thank you.
Mooie ruime kamer, nette badkamer, vriendelijke staff. In centrum van het dorp.

Convenient for Market place and eating establishments. Good quality ales. Well appointed accommodation. Excellent breakfast.

staff were super friendly, offered an alternative to breakfast as we were leaving very early and gave a good breakfast recommendation. Rooms were also really nice!

Very quiet rooms located at the rear of the pub, wonderful would love to back.
Had to go into bar to check in, walking in through a few drunk males very intimidating, very run down, had a bad vibe for me.
Great location. Great pub. Great music venue
The room was clean and quiet and a good location.
The pub and beer garden was a bit tired, but the room in the annexe was good. There's no parking at the pub, but the market Square is close and available except for the two market days.
Room was quiet, clean and updated. The staff very friendly and helpful.
The outside appearance and initial approach through pub.
Great location and very clean room with everything we needed.
Some noise from the pub but to be expected and nothing some earplugs didn’t stop.
Very clean and comfortable.
Nothing was wrong with it.
Location
Room was small and next to door so no chance of a lie in as it slams shut from 6:30am when people are going off to work.
The location is good due to close proximity to eateries, shops and the market place for buses. The receptionist at the counter is very helpful and friendly.Clean room with good facilities such as ample space for putting things and a place to hang clothes which some hotels lack.My only regret was just staying for a night.Good communication with the staff.
Nothing
Excellent location in centre of town. Comfortable and clean room. Very good breakfast
A lovely cosy quiet room.
Lovely, friendly staff and a great set up
Friendliness of staff and locals in the bar. The Band were smashing. Room lovely, huge bed and pristine bathroom Thank you We will definitely stay again

The room was compact, warm, and very comfortable, with Sky Sports available

Clean comfortable rooms.
Parking was a bit awkward with market days at the weekend.
Accommodation is at the back of the pub, really quiet, clean room
The room was comfortable and the showers worked fine. It was an easy walk to restaurants and supermarkets. Staff were friendly and breakfast was decent
It is a popular pub and going in and out of the hotel was a little uncomfortable as there is no separate entrance
Location. Cleanliness. Security of room.
Shower too small. Couldn’t access.
Great stay
Small room but everything we needed. Lovely and clean and so quiet!
Nothing
Despite the pub looking a little bit rough and ready (I’d had a long day and the football had been on!) was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room. The room was clean and fresh, couldn’t hear any noise from the pub at all which was great. Bed was super comfortable and slept better than I do at home so big winner there. Staff were friendly and attentive at check in and check out. I occasionally stay over in Buxton for work so will definitely look again.
Not the end of the world but the bathroom was a little on the small side and everything felt piled in a bit. Wasn’t huge issue though.
The main bar is large with lots of available seating. Music and jukebox. Staff were polite and helpful. The accommodation was to the rear of the main pub, and whilst I stay at hotels on a regular basis for work, the accommodation here was excellent. Clean, tidy, nice little touches; overall, I was disappointed not to be staying longer. Definitely recommended.
Nothing
Breakfast was lovely Room was clean Staff were helpful
It would be nice if the property would consider blackout linings for the curtains
The staff are lovely - friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms (in a converted stable block at the back, so not over the pub) are modern and immaculately clean. And the cooked breakfasts are very good too!
Clean enough , comfortable enough and enough for a short stay, not luxurious hut it doesn't pretend to be good value in a super location.
Wooden floors so a little noise with early check outs , some bits weren't everso clean but overall it's good
The location in town was perfect for us, but we were just passing through.
Struggled with parking, another tourist town trying to discourage tourists, locals or anyone who has to drive.
Friendly staff, good value for money, excellent location
The staff were great all those I met were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean comfortable, and peaceful. Would definitely stay again.
There was nothing about our stay that I didn't like, had i driven I'd probably say parking is an issue, but given the location there isn't a lot they can do about that.
