Room didn't have a view but not a deal breaker.
The location for buxton theatre is ideal. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
excellent choice for breakfast and also cooked to order.
The location was lovely and breakfast was very good
The Mattress was uncomfortable for us
Perfect location for our additional visits to attractions in the area., comfortable and friendly
Nothing if note
Very nice
TV in wrong place - no shelves in bathroom - decor dated
The location
Unfriendly, poor quality. Tired and dated
Shower head dripped
Great location, helpful friendly staff, love cooked breakfast.
A little bit dated decour, but clean.
Food was good quality and well presented. Room was spotless with lake views. Overall, excellent value
Great location for my stay. Breakfast was excellent.
Very well situated for town centre, theatre, restaurants etc. Ample free parking. Comfy beds. Good breakfsat.
All good the bed was too hard for us but thats a personal choice. Lovely location.
Clean and friendly staff
Convenience for town centre.
This is a bed and breakfast establishment only not what we had hoped for in a hotel. Evening meal meant a walk, which on a cold rainy windy night, took the edge off the evening. Lack of space. One bed was jammed against the radiator. The bathroom was too small with nowhere to hang damp towels or clothes, toilet seat very loose, no shelf on which to stand toiletries, strange taste to the water.
Quiet and great location. Spotlessly clean and staff uniformly attentive and cheerful. Easy check in and departure. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. We would definitely stay again.
Excellent place to stay. Lovely, comfortable, quaint bed and breakfast. Parking, good breakfast, comfy beds, clean. So nice just to walk out, across the park and you're in the heart of Buxton.
Nothing, though a few more hooks or railsin our room would be handy to hang towels from.
Room was a good size, bed was comfy, location was very good, staff serving breakfast were nice
Bathroom wasnt nice at all, shower was tiny, TV was basic, so many of the little things in the room, like waste paper basket, were cheap, plastic. Made the room look tired and unloved and the whole of the downstairs of the building smelt of fried eggs. Probably years of fried full english breakfasts - not sure how you get rid of that smell but not pleasant. Breakfast itself let down by cheap ingredients, juice taste like sunny delight, toast was cheapest supermarket bread.
Friendly staff and a very nice breakfast.
Advertised as 4 star bur probably closer to 2 star B&B
Very pleased with our stay. Buxton is a nice Town. And the Park in front of the Hotel was lovely…
The only thing was the Shower.cold tap not properly working.
Very comfortable and good breakfast. Great location for getting out and about.
Excellent location, comfortable room and good breakfast.
The en-suite was very small with no shelf for toiletries.
Central location, good breakfast, free parking.
Bathroom needs upgrading. Poor water pressure and toilet seat falls on you.
Very clean. Breakfast was fine, no menu which is unusual.
Its described as a hotel. Hotels I have stayed in all served evening meals to residents, this one didn't. The pillows were flat and not very comfy, it was impossible to plump them, no "life" left in them. The mattress was fine. Nowhere to hang damp towels, the hook on the bathroom door had not been replaced. Very tired décor. £110 per night for bed and breakfast with these disappointing details seems rather a high price compared to some family run hotels Ive stayed in.
I loved it's position overlooking the park
Nothing
Great location for us, great breakfast

Great location, the room was clean and quiet
Nothing about the welcome could be said to be hospitable. Very perfunctory. The room and en suite were small. The taps didn’t operate properly - the hot tap spun, doing nothing. Had to press down hard to get it to work and the cold tap was difficult to prevent dripping. The bathroom was very poorly ventilated. We were given a rear viewing little room, two storeys up, overlooking a fire escape and a bit of carpark. The carpark is largely surrounded by horrible sap-yielding trees. Had to wash the car straight after. Had to clean the windows before leaving. At breakfast, the juice was anything but fresh, the coffee was awful and the tea was very chemical in taste. Filtered water required. It may be Buxton but the tap water is highly treated. The departure was just as impersonal as the arrival - just drop your key in a box and leave.
We had a lovely lake view, great breakfast.
Their was anything I didn't like.
Location
It’s more a bed & breakfast than a hotel
Great location, breakfast and room. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Car park a bit tight
Breakfast was a very nice selection, freshly cooked and nicely presented with an option to choose from a range of options. Location was just great with the pavilion Gardens just across the (pedestrien only) road in front of the hotel. Easy access to all the sites and facilities around the gardens and 'lower' Buxton and a short uphill walk from the back of the hotel to the shops mar ket areaand many take-aways and restaurants in 'higher' Buxton.
Everything was fine thank you.
Location excellent, just a short walk to the town. Facilities good, and great breakfast. Overall really enjoyed our stay.
Few minor niggles with the bathroom, but overall great stay.
Breakfast ok and dietry requirements met
The whole place needs upgrading. Bath and basin chipped, extention cables from plugs Poor showers.
Location
Excellent location with great views across the park.
The room was comfortable, but the bed in room 12 is extremely creaky. Woke us up whenever either of us moved or turned over. Although we are still in very early autumn, the radiator in room 12 was always hot to touch (even though the thermostat attached was on zero). This made the room uncomfortable for sleeping.
Lovely view from room -good position for Buxton amenities- very attentive breakfast staff - good choice - drinks topped up without asking -biscuits too
Parking was a bit tight as on hill but spaces available no problem-nice to find a place that doesn't charge extra
Most comfortable bed ever!!
The breakfast was very good, good quality ingredients, we had tickets booked for the opera house and the b&b was only a 7 minute walk from there. Also lovely outlook across the park.
The bathroom was a bit dark, but as it didn't have a window, not surprising, better lighting would help.
Location was great. Breakfast was exceptional and the lady looking after us was very friendly
As a B&B guest house, it was fine. Stunning views. Freshly cooked breakfast. Coffee not to my liking but that is not a critism as I guess many would like it.
Buxton has gone crazy with prices, not just the Westminster. Over £100/night for a basic B&B is crazy. But in the grand scheme of things, the Westminster is ok
The bed was super comfy and king sized Decent choice of cereals and yoghurt A proper full English breakfast nicely cooked Staff were helpful and friendly
Shower pressure was a bit weak TV screen was a little small and basic Took my fire stick to watch sport but internet speed was a bit spotty
Perfect location, ease of parking and close to Opera House
Good location, good breakfast
Stained bed sheet, had to ask twice to have it changed, apparently message not passed on Clean but tired, DIY maintenance
Well located overlooking the park and an easy walk to the centre of Buxton. Spacious room. Breakfast was fine, just a bit unexciting.
Limited parking on site, so we had to park on the road. The hotel felt like a bit of a throwback, Fawlty Towers without the chaos! It felt a bit pricey for this offering, I guess you're paying for the location.
Mooie ruime kamer
Geen lift dat had ik liever eerder geweten
Good breakfast. Basic room but adequate. Clean & comfortable.
Výborná snídaně. Krásné okolí. Milí ubytované
Špatný tlak vody ve sprše
Breakfast was superb!!!!
Excellent location, adjacent to Pavilion Gardens, short walk to pubs, restaurants and shops. Room was clean and comfortable.
Although clean the bathroom was in need of updating, door didn't even shut properly, shower was very poor. Floor creaked badly in the room.
Perfect location Very friendly staff Lovely breakfast
A little dated decor but would definitely book again
The breakfast was fine and we could have what we asked for. the location was ideal, we could walk to the town centre and through a very well looked after park.
the room was ok apart from a cracked sink, plug that didnt hold the water, no bulb in the shaver light so not working, could do with a few more sockets in room, the light in the bathroom was very poor.
Perfect location. Ideal for exploring Buxton. Good breakfast and comfortable bed
Would have preferred a room with a better view. Not really a hotel - didn’t have the usual hotel facilities
Staff friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast freshly cooked to order. Great location opposite the park.
Water pressure in shower wasn't very good but apart from that all good!
Very good location to explore the town of Buxton
It’s dated decor.
Very good location
Bathroom facilities need updating
Staff very helpful. Breakfast choices good, cooked meal excellent. Location exceptional. Quiet and peaceful surrounds.
Hotel becoming dated. Maintenance needed in our room. Advised management.
Die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft der Gastgeber.
Das Bad
Great location , plenty of parking , friendly staff, cooked breakfast was lovely . The actual bedroom was very clean and comfy bed/pillows
Bathroom was clean but very tired looking , the bath panel had a crack in it with a copper pipe sticking out of it .. in need of a refurb for sure The room we had was on the front of the property with nice view of the park below but we had to shut the Curtains as people on the park could see right in the room , Venetian blinds would be ideal to hide you the option to keep natural light into coming into the room but also give you privacy … The tv is a little dated the guide button didn’t work on the remote so was unable to see what was on the schedule had to to flick through each individual channel then press info to see what the programme was which wasn’t ideal but this is just a minor point
Great location. Ample parking. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Great bedroom with a smallish shower.
Location
Staff not very engaging and a little grumpy
Hotel was perfect location. Rooms was tidy ,very clean and had everything you needed
Breakfast was very good. A good choice in hot food.
We assumed there would be shower gel in the shower so we used the soap from the sink. Maybe take your own shower gel.
Beautiful location on the edge of the park. Central so able to walk to everything
Bathroom was ok but shower was very weak
Only a one-nighter, but everything was as I hoped, and the breakfast was delicious.

Fabulous location. Beautiful house with great parking facilities.
Best breakfast I have had in a hotel, staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast excellent staff very friendly
Location. Room. Breakfast

Location - good.
Breakfast quality and choice was the poorest factor in our stay. I would have liked to have undyed smoked haddock as an option. There was no printed breakfast menu. Cooked-to-order rather than pre-cooked stiff bacon would have been good. Real marmalade from a jar rather than plastic prepacks would have been good.
Comfortable bed, nice towels and a good breakfast
Very poor bathroom- we struggled to get the toilet to flush, and the shower was pathetic. We also hadn’t realised that we would have to walk up several flights of stairs to get to our bedroom.
Breakfast
Dated decor and furniture, poor en-suite, hook hanging off the back of the door, toilet fixed too close to the wall, toilet roll holder fixed at an angle, poor water pressure in shower. **The country was experiencing it’s fifth official heatwave of the year and there was no fan in the room. **
The position of the property was perfect and in a beautiful location. The accommodation was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was first class and the staff were very good.
Bathroom was functional but dated.
Location Breakfast Parking on site
I thought that it was more a guest house than a hotel.
Excellent in every way.
Lovely position across the park from the Pavilion and Opera House. Parking within the grounds.
Bathroom a bit tight and needed upgrade.
Excellent breakfast Room view great Price excellent
Nothing
Location is on the park. So very central
The breakfast service was very slapdash. Our room was at the top of the house, so had to carry luggage up a lot of stairs. There was no offer of help.
Superb location. Pleasant place.
Bathroom needs an update.
We were able to check in early at no extra cost. Also able to leave car in the car park after check out.
