Stay Ceylon - Weligama

Modern, comfortable hotel with helpful, welcoming staff. The best breakfast that we've had anywhere in Sri Lanka and also highly recommend the Spicy Margaritas.

The beach opposite the hotel isn't great. Quite a bit of rubbish and a very narrow beach.

No elevator and room on the third floor ... and you don't know till after you've paid

We had such an amazing time at Stay Ceylon and didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The room was amazing, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The location was also fantastic, close to everything we needed while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The lunch and dinner options are delicious - both Sri Lankan and western options tasted amazing! The cocktails and juices were also very good. Our room also had a great view of the ocean! The whole hotel uses filtered clean water (showers & taps included) which was a great bonus. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the genuine kindness from everyone working there. The staff wrote us a heartfelt card and gave us flowers on arrival to celebrate our engagement. You can tell they truly care about their guests having a great experience. We’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, and this was easily one of our favorites. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable getaway!

Das Hotel ist unfassbar schön und perfekt gelegen, direkt am Strand. Das Design im Hotel ist klasse! Sehr modern und schick. Wir haben das cleane Design geliebt und auch die Betten dort sind sehr bequem, sauber und neu. Alles, was man sich wünscht. Das Personal war ebenfalls super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Unbedingt dort frühstücken und mal zu Abend essen - alles war super schön angerichtet und sehr lecker. Insgesamt hatten wir einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt dort und ich kann dieses Hotel wirklich nur allen empfehlen. Gerade in dieser Gegend ist es nicht ganz einfach, schöne Hotels zu finden, die preislich okay sind. Aber dieses Hotel vereint wirklich alles. Vielen vielen Dank für diesen tollen Aufenthalt.

We had a wonderful time at Stay Ceylon. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean and modern. Perfect set up for our family of 4. Breakfast was of high standard and the location was great.

I couldn’t have enjoyed my srilankan trip this much if it wouldn’t be for this hotel’s staff top hospitality and amenities. From even before setting foot on the premises everything was taken of and anticipated. I travel a lot because of my job and I have to say: location, services, rooms, amenities, details, everything was always unbeatable with the greatest attitude and they always had a smile on their face and a warm greeting. What you see in here it’s exactly how it looks. No brainer to be back. Really look no more! This is the place!

This place is so well finished beautifal. The staff where the best I have experience Sri Lanka. The hole place is Sooo clean and tidy and kept to a verry high standard. Coudent recomend enuff

Staff extremely nice, clean room, AC was working perfectly. In the heart of weligama. Nice places around (restaurants, gym, yoga, surf). Beach in front of the road.

If you are a light sleeper or are disturb by the road noise maybe this is not for you. We had ocean views but separated by the road which is quite noisy even during the night. Maybe less when not facing it?

The room was very clean and the decoration felt very welcoming. The restaurant had delicious food and the staff were all incredibly kind, helpful, and provided the best service. Ravinthu (sp?) was especially helpful and provided me amazing local tips to help my stay be smoother.

The location is great that it is across the beach but that does mean it can get a bit loud with cars driving by. Honestly it didn’t bother me, but if people are sensitive to that noise, they should be aware before booking.

New modern property with great staff. Rooms are well equipped with great attention to detail. Hotel is located right across the street from the beach. And hotel has chairs and umbrellas for the guests. The street is busy and you can hear the noise in the room. Maybe not the best for light sleepers.

We booked two nights at Stay Ceylon in Weligama, Sri Lanka, but loved it so much that our family (with two teenagers) rearranged our 10-night trip to stay longer! We initially thought we might miss a pool, but the beautiful ocean right across the street, along with the hotel’s immaculate, complimentary sun loungers, meant we didn't miss one at all. We tried to extend, but Stay Ceylon was fully booked for our second-to-last night. We happily returned for our very last night! The property is incredibly fresh, clean, and stylishly decorated. The restaurant is great, and we enjoyed lunch there daily. We had breakfast included and it was also very good. Great coffee!! The hospitality was outstanding. On our check-out day, the staff generously allowed us full use of all facilities and provided showers before our evening flight. These small details made a huge difference. Stay Ceylon was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommended!

The location is right beside a busy road, so anyone seeking a peaceful and quiet environment is advised to look at other options.

The rooms were extremely comfortable,well lit and clean. We liked the decor and the open balcony with bifold doors. The view across to the beach was very nice. Every morning, the Staff provided wonderful breakfast The staff were amazing and kind and very interested in their guests Stay experience. Overall, the staff were amazing. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

My only criticism would be a little noisy in the dining area from the road noise and sometimes the music was too loud.

זו הייתה השהות השנייה שלנו לאחר קפיצה למקום אחר דיברנו עם הקבלה ישירות ונאמר לנו כי יתנו לנו את אותו החדר באותו המחיר כמו ששילמנו בשהות הראשונה בפועל - קיבלנו חדר קטן בחצי ובמרכז הרעש של הרחוב. דיברנו עם הבעל מלון והסביר שהסוג חדר נחשב זהה בגלל האבזור חשוב להוסיף שרוב היום אין מים חמים לא פעם אמרו לנו שסידרו לאחר שביקשנו ונשאר אותו דבר מעט מבאס ולא שווה את המחיר (בעיני) אבל המלון בהחלט מפנק וטוב לצד זה.

YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE! We travelled around Sri Lanka at the end of November for our Honeymoon and only had one night here on our itinerary, but I wish we had more! The property has been recently renovated to the highest standard. The quality of the building, facilities, and decor is amazing, extremely clean, and comfortable, but that is nothing compared to the staff. Nimesh and his team went above and beyond to ensure we had the best honeymoon stay, even for just one night. We were welcomed with a drink, and our room had been decorated. The rooms are spacious, modern, and we had an incredible sea view. Perfectly located on the sea front to explore Weligama with surf on your doorstep. Dinner and breakfast here were fantastic, lots of variety, full of flavour and a lovely restaurant setting. This place is exceptional value for money!

There isn't anything you can't not like!

Очень красивый новый отель, идеальная чистота, дружелюбный персонал. Большая удобная кровать, невероятно красивый балкон. Вкусные завтраки. Есть все что нужно и даже больше. Через дорогу от пляжа, есть свои лежаки.

Не очень хорошая звукоизоляция, в номере шумновато из-за проезжающих машин и музыки в соседних заведениях. Было бы здорово добавить место для сушки мокрых вещей на балконе, и зонтики от солнца у лежаков на пляже.

Das Hotel ist wirklich toll! Es ist sauber, das Personal sehr freundlich und das Zimmer sehr schön ausgestattet. Die Lage ist toll. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Teilweise mussten wir über eine Stunde auf das Frühstück warten & es war immer wieder unvollständig

ゴールロード沿いでウェリガマビーチ目の前。陽の光が入って明るく、素敵な雰囲気。カフェレストランもいい感じ。ウェリガマの海沿いにはセンスの良い宿が少ないので、こういうホテルが新しくできてとても嬉しい。

The location is perfect. Directly across from the beach, and close to town and all the surf schools, cafes and restaurants. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you feel at home. The food is fantastic, plenty of options, both western and local, but the highlights for me were the cocktails (incredible taste and presentation, and cheap!), and the amazing pastries, which I found out are made on-site by the hotel's own pastry chef! The rooms are beautiful (I had a tour of a few of the top-floor luxury suites. The view of the beach and bay is brilliant!

Amazing stay at Stay Ceylon, Weligama! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and a special shout out to Podi for his exceptional cocktails – truly the best! Huge thanks to Nimesh for all his help with organising our transport and surf sessions. The food was delicious, and the rooms were spotless with super comfortable beds. Couldn’t have asked for more – such an amazing way to end our trip around Sri Lanka. We’ll definitely be back!
