The floor is falling apart beneath the kitchen and was very concerning on the maintence of the property, self closer on the front door was bbroken so caused issues for the kids

Reviewed Jan 14, 2026The location is excellent and the street is quiet. The kitchen is well-equipped. Nice view with lake and 3mins walk to the lake.
However, the bed is too old and the mattress is way too soft and saggy, which needs improvement. My whole family had sore backs after staying for two nights. Also, there is only hot water from the sink near the toilet where the showers are, which were very frustrating.

Reviewed Oct 15, 2025Het was erg ruim opgezet, dus dat was fijn. Een tuin erbij zodat we nog heerlijk in het zonnetje konden zitten. En hoewel redelijk ver van Taupo centrum wel een hele rustige plek. Met uitzicht op het centrum met daarachter de bergen.
Weinig voorzieningen in de buurt. Auto is wel een voorwaarde.

There was a sold sign outside which had us unsure if we were in the right place. The info received said 11a and the letterbox 11 1 so also confusing

Reviewed Sep 14, 2024Very comfortable home in a lovely location. Has a cosy old world charm and feel. The kids enjoyed playing in the garden, and appreciated the provision of tennis racquets and crocket set. We also enjoyed toasting marshmallows over the firepit.
We had some pesky ants visit in the bathroom vanity which was a little annoying but understand these things happen! A little stressful having to have all the breakfast dishes dried and put away before departure as most places are fine with the dishwasher being run and the cleaner to put away later.

Reviewed May 23, 2024Lovely quiet location with beautiful unobstructed views across the lake. Handy to restaurant and dairy, also walking distance to the lake. House is very comfortable and tastefully furnished.
Unable to access the advertised free wifi. Made 5 phone calls to host who never got back to us to advise on provider and password issues. Also had difficulty accessing mainstream TV channels. There were no instructions for the TV in the compendium.

- We obviously knew this beforehand, but the house is not very close to Taupo, you'll definitely need a car. Wouldn't stay without a car.

Reviewed Mar 12, 2024Everything! The cottage was absolutely lovely. It had everything we could possibly want! We loved staying here and we will definitely come back again. Great location in a quiet neighborhood but close to everything we wanted to do. Well laid out and catered for, plenty of kitchen equipment etc, lovely outdoor area to relax in and just a lovely place to be. We didn't want to leave!
The only thing we could think of was possibly putting in a bigger mirror somewhere! Otherwise everything was just excellent!!!
