Acacia Heights - Garden Cottage - Taupo

Easy check-in. Parking spot was easy. Clear instructions and privacy. Loved the spa and overall the unit was super clean. Thanks guys!

Lovely accommodation, easy check in, wonderful staff member who was very helpful. Very clean and cozy. They have a Netflix account for guests. Random dog seen out the window in backyard (we love dogs and it didn't come close to house, just used the yard) the spa temperature and easy maintenance to do. Lots of utensils, plates, glasses, a rice cooker. Coffee machine (you need your own beans) It was a warm and cozy home away from home. Tui song outside. Far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle neighbourhoods, but still close to the main taupo township.

The bells and occasional weird noise from their neighbours across the road. The others are quiet. Parking spot is closed in by the garden, so watch the rocks when you pull in/out as you may block the shared driveway if you're too far back.

Inadequate heating - This was the coldest house during our 2 week stay in NZ! No heating in the bathroom was a major letdown.

Everything was well presented, tidy and property kept to a great standard. Beautiful location that feels private and very relaxing. The cafe down the road was great and convenient too! Will definitely be using again in the future.

Nice and tidy, clean, great facilities, quiet and peaceful location, comfortable, spa, linen provided, close to taupō centre, well equipped kitchen, parking spot, place was not huge but it was spacious enough to be comfortable

maybe they didn’t realise we booked for 3, as the amenities provided such as bodywash, water bottles, milk etc was only enough to cater for 2 people, so we had ration it between us. also too many rules such as chlorinating the spa and having to put the rubbish out ourselves. took away the feeling of a relaxing holiday, this wasnt indicated in the description this would be required, so booking we did not expect for us to have to do so much. I would at least expect staff to be responsible for chlorinating the spa as I don’t expect all guests to remember and therefore may not be clean for the next person.

Property is well maintained and perfect for a family get away trip especially if your from the bigger cities, secluded location but still close to diary’s and about a 10/15 min drive to the centre of town

We were super happy. Was clean, plenty of towels.. everything you need was there. Was amazing and we loved it!

Perfect for couples (as we were), but the 2x single beds, double bed & lounge area all in one open room, so not ideal for families imo.

The place was in a lovely residential area It was very clean and tidy .The bed was so comfortable. We loved the jacuzzi !! Everything was perfect !!

Private and quiet, the spa

Cottage was clean and tidy, well equipped with everything you need.

Great, quiet location. Rotorua is about an hours drive and for those interested in Hobbiton, the drive is roughly an hour and a half. The house itself is easily accessible and has great privacy. Beautiful views from the pergola and overall an amazing atmosphere and place to stay. Huka falls, Huka honey hive, Wairakei Terraces and Thermal Pools, Craters of the Moon and the local supermarket and restaurants are all within a 10 - 15 minute drive. Loved the location as you get a great feeling of privacy and quietness while still being close to the town.

Shower pressure was not great and the enclosed shower is quite small. No dryer also makes it difficult to have clothes dried during the wet winter months. There is a washing line provided along the back of the property opposite where the spa is which on a good day does dry clothes well. There is also a small clothes airer provided which is helpful for very small amounts of washing to be dried however if you are using the spa or going to local hot pools, you go through towels rather quickly and they can take a while to dry when the weather is cold and wet. A trip to the laundromat may be needed if you plan to stay for a while during winter. Aside from these few things, the amenities provided were excellent and clean.

The location was extraordinary, beautifully landscaped with hill-top views from the gazebo. Birds were lively and sounds amazing at dusk. Our stay was short, in and out, but accommodation was comfortable, well appointed and equipped for a longer stay. Good house instructions. Drive to town was short. Highly recommend.

Too many reminders of all the rules you need to follow to stay in the property, this takes away from feeling welcomed.

It was a lovely cottage, plenty of room, comfortable bed and having the spa was a bonus for relaxing, lovely and quiet surrounded by gardens and trees. Very private.

Spotlessly clean, in a quiet location with everything we needed. Spa pool was great after Taupo marathon.

Quiet location and comfortable property that was generally well equipped.

Lots of warnings, rules, regulations (noise, neighbours etc) and potential for penalties which detracted from the experience.

stunning views from the pergola, beautiful gardens all around! the bed was so comfortable, we had an excellent sleep! The hot tub was just the icing on the cake, not to mention the espresso maker…so many thoughtful details.
