Reviewed Apr 7, 2026We had a great time at De Kleine Prince in Prince Albert - the property is very cozy, stylish, and clean. The vibe of the property is very relaxed - we would have liked to stay for longer. Overall Prince Albert feels very safe and relaxed.
If you are not travelling alone, keep in mind that the toilet is part of the room and cannot be locked individually (but there is a big community room to leave the room if needed).

Reviewed Sep 20, 2025De Kleine Prince is a beautiful, very stylish Karoo home. It provides a tranquil, serene haven: a safe space to escape from the world you know to enter and experience the magic of the Karoo and Prince Albert. The house is very well equipped with everything one might need - and more. The bed, bedlinen and towels are high quality (like everything in the house!). I loved all the different relaxing spaces - and also the bird feeder in the front garden and beautiful bonsais on the back stoep. Reading on one of the daybeds on the stoep is a moment!
I really loved staying there! Guests should be aware that the bathrooms in some of the rooms are open plan (wc too) - also coffee and tea is made in the (dream!) kitchen - it’s a house, not a hotel. Parking is either in the street or in an open space behind the property.

Woke up every morning with beautiful birdsong just outside our room. Had coffee on our patio looking at the birds. Best bedding ever! The pillows and mattress are fantastic. Adrian and Lythan were perfect hosts. We can not wait to go back.

The toilet and shower, bathtub, sitting area and bedroom are all in one large room. Not our favorite. However, that seems to be a very popular architectural feature at many of the accommodations we have stayed in lately.

Laythan the house director and Jeandre were great hosts, bed was comfortable, shower hot and strong, generously supplied with in-room toiletries, aircon efficient, and a coffee machine in the common area. Supper at "Karoo Kombuis" for traditional regional food was very charming. The stars were amazing at night.

Reviewed Sep 21, 2024Extremely upmarket, classy accommodation in Prince Albert. Outstanding location. So much attention is given to the detail. We were in awe with the pool house cottage. It was so great, we didn't even feel like dining in town. We just had a great braai ourselves at the cottage. The owner Adrian took us through the rest of the property, and we were really blow away. The pool house has a pool and is equipped with everything you will need for a great stay. There is a large TV and even enough spices to cook up a storm. Extremely comfortable bed, pillows, and duvet. Safe parking. Wood and milk are provided.

The owners have thought through every single detail of this property and are so friendly and welcoming. Really safe area, off road parking and lovely cafe across the main road for food and drinks. The outdoor dining area is just perfect for cooking and making the most of your fabulous stay at De Kleine Prince! Wish we’d had more time here as we loved it, thank you!
