Reviewed Aug 25, 2026The bikes are the main draw, but they are designed for people of a shorter stature. You can use them before check-in and after checkout. The beds are comfy, and the staff will answer any questions you may have.
The space appears to have been originally designed as a ryokan, so the onsen space for showering is larger than necessary for 1 person whereas the living room is too small for the number of people staying. Make sure to close the blinds fully, or you will be giving passing cars and neighbors a peep show.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026This was my second stay at Hachi, and just like last year, it felt like coming home. From the moment I arrived, everyone at Hachi made me feel incredibly welcome. They don't just treat their guests like customers—they treat them like family, and that's something truly special. Just like last year, every facility was excellent. The shower rooms, powder room, laundry area, dormitory, and especially the lounge where guests can connect with one another were all spotless and thoughtfully maintained. But what makes Hachi unique is that it's much more than just clean. The handmade furniture, crafts, decorations, and overall design make the entire guesthouse feel like a work of art. Every corner reflects the owners' creativity, warmth, and attention to detail. I am so grateful that I discovered Hachi last year. It's no longer just a guesthouse to me—it has become my second home. I already can't wait to come back again. Thank you to everyone at Hachi for another unforgettable stay!

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026A beautiful place I can warmly recommend to anyone! The rooms were comfortable and spacious, all facilities were cleaned daily and everything was well taken care of. There was a homey atmosphere, which made it very easy to relax and settle in. The staff was very nice and helpful too! The accomodation is easy to reach by bus and the location is great with shops, restaurants and multiple attractions only a few minutes away. At night, the area is very quiet. The view is amazing as well, and it was great to sit in the living room and be able to see Mt. Fuji through the window. The free bikes were also a great way to get around and explore the lake. Breakfast is optional and you do have to pay extra, but you get your money's worth. Overall, if you're looking for an uncomplicated, comfortable stay with a great view and great people, this is it!
The bicycles don't have a gearshift, which makes going uphill quite hard. However, when going around Lake Kawaguchiko, there's no need to worry, since the streets are mostly flat with only very slight incline.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026Ein sauberes und ruhiges Hostel, etwas außerhalb gelegen, aber gut mit Bus erreichbar. Durch die Lage hatte ich zum Sonnenaufgang einen wunderbaren Blick auf den MT. Fuji! (In der nächsten Querstraße)
Es gab nur eine funktionierende Dusche für das gesamte Hostel. Als ich da war, waren wenige Gäste da, aber bei voller Belegung wäre das sehr unangenehm. Ich fand es etwas unsicher. Tagsüber ist die Rezeption nicht besetzt und man kann einfach reinlaufen (Tür ist nicht abgeschlossen). Nachts soll die Tür abgeschlossen und nur mit Code zu öffnen sein, an dem einen Morgen war sie das definitiv nicht. Es ist nichts passiert, aber am besten Wertsachen bei sich behalten!

Pas de possibilité de cuisiner. Peut etre au moins avoir des tasses ou des couverts.

Reviewed May 5, 2026Nous avons énormément apprécié notre séjour dans cet hostel. Le personnel a été très gentil. Le dortoir mixte où nous avons dormi est spacieux, comporte 4 lits et surtout tout était très propre. Le petit déjeuner était également délicieux et copieux, avec le Mont Fuji visible depuis la fenêtre ! Je recommande à 100% :)

Reviewed May 5, 2026Die Unterkunft ist sehr gemütlich und ruhig. Sie ist etwa 1,5 km vom Bahnhof Kawaguchiko entfernt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und spricht gutes Englisch. Es gibt die Option ein Frühstück in der Unterkunft zu buchen. In der Lobby gibt es Kaffe, Tee und Wasser for free. Das Zimmer ist einfach, traditionell gestaltet aber für japanische Verhältnisse sehr geräumig. Man schläft auf Futonbetten, es gibt eine kleinen niedrigen Tisch und einen großen Schrank (wir hatten ein Dreibettzimmer). Generell ist alles niedrig. Wer Probleme hat, auf dem Boden zu sitzen oder liegen für den ist das Hotel nicht geeignet. Es gibt ein großes Gemeinschaftsbad mit mehren Duschköpfen und einer Badewanne. Die Nutzung ist von 15 Uhr bis 10 Uhr morgens möglich und ist gemischt für Frauen und Männer. Die Lage hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Von der Lobby aus kann man den Fuji sehen 🗻 Die Unterkunft stellt kostenlosen Fahrräder zur Verfügung. Restaurants sind fußläufig erreichbar (vorher Öffnungszeiten prüfen). Ganz große Empfehlung ist das Restaurant High Spirits.
Das gemischte Gemeinschaftsbad war nicht mein Ding. Eine Trennung zwischen Männern und Frauen wäre mir als Frau angenehmer gewesen.

Reviewed May 5, 2026This was my best accommodation after traveling a month in japan. The owner stands out - his cleanliness, hospitality, and passion for having the guests have a wonderful stay. He went above and beyond, even helping me clean and dry my muddy shoes after a long hike because I asked for a hose. The hachi accommodation also has an excellent location. Right next to the lake with free rental bikes and conveniently an e bike station right next to it! I even started every morning with a wonderful free cup of black tea and cold water. Could not ask for a better stay, 100% recommend it. Respect and appreciation to the owner for keeping it so clean and aesthetically pleasing.

门口有个bus站，但没见过bus停车，从河口湖坐车到最近的站走过来有点点远。

Lo mejor es que tienes vista del Fuji desde el alojamiento y te dan arriendo gratis de bicicletas con lo que di la vuelta al lago Kawaguchiko. Ya a final de camino se despejó y pude ver el monte Fuji en todo su esplendor! 😍🏔 Es muy cómodo este alojamiento camas grandes y cómodas, duchas y baños muy limpios, además cuentas con servicio de coin laundry. Recomiendo mucho este lugar!

Reviewed Apr 19, 2026The view of mount Fuji from our balcony is absolutely stunning. You can just lie in bed and look at the majestic mountain. They also had free bike rentals to cycle around the area.
Location is slightly far from the Kawaguchiko station, and the buses in Kawaguchiko are not very reliable so it was a lot of walking.

Staff didn’t wait, just entered the room in a rude way nearly pushing me over packing my back. Sorry but the privacy of your room should not be invaded in this manner even you are 7 minutes late.

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026I liked the staff there - very helpful and nice. Told us a lot about the about the area and even about the fireworks show that was happening nearby. The room was beautiful with a great view. The room was cozy and the futons were very comfy. Close to a park nearby which was nice.
A little bit far from the city and train station. The bathroom was a bit cold at first. There is no kitchen facility.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026住宿公共区域装饰氛围很好，在公共区域就能看到富士山，很适合静静地坐着放松，店家也提供免费的咖啡和茶，有饮水机，随时可以喝水，冷水热水都有，店家也很贴心，公共区域整体卫生都是不错的，有垃圾桶，且没有臭味。洗澡的地方也很大，床也很大，睡着很舒服。
我住的一楼，有时候厕所清理不是很及时，好几次进厕所，两个马桶都是脏的，理解店家一时半会儿无法照顾过来所有的事情，但希望能改善这个问题
