The staff were very accommodating nothing you wanted was to much trouble the rooms were very clean and comfortable facilities on site exceptionally good and in general you could not ask for more 5 star stay

It was a lovely stay, from the moment we arrived and were greeted with welcome drinks and cold towels (a blessing after 20 hours travelling!), the staff were so lovely and made our first days in Fort Kochi so nice! The facilities are great and the beds are comfy! Breakfast also really good.

Excellent stay at Eighth Bastion. The staff is absolutely lovely, attentive and thoughtful. They made my stay hassle-free. The rooms are spacious and the location is extremely convenient if you want to walk to most of the art galleries, streets and cafes. The 2-hour complimentary tuk-tuk tour is a nice perk and helps you place yourself in Fort Kochi very quickly. Highly recommend!

Top quality hotel with fantastic staff. Everything about our stay was absolutely superb. Rooms were very well appointed with very comfortable beds. The facilities were great - as was the food. And the staff were all absolutely delightful and very helpful. We had local guests eating with us one evening and the staff were exemplary in threat organisation and service

Hotel com ambiente calmo e quarto confortável, com boa dimensão e bem mobilado. Pequeno almoço excelente, muito variado e com qualidade. O passeio de tuc-tuc foi oferta e foi excelente. Staff muto simpático e atencioso. Localização num sitio tranquilo, mas muito perto das ruas mais movimentadas de Fort Kochi.

Beautiful hotel and tranquil place near the beach. The personnel were delightful. Everywhere was clean and the pool was lovely. The rooms were stylish and very big. Breakfast very good.

The staff are all amazing!! Also the tuk tuk they organised for us was also excellent our driver was so knowledgeable and helpful that we ended up extending our time with him. Breakfast was delicious, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and we felt very well looked after throughout our stay.”

The staff were so kind, helpful and wonderful. Every single one of them made us feel genuinely welcome. We were even invited to join their Onam celebrations, including the traditional games and lunch, which was such a special experience. Breakfast each morning was also amazing, with delicious local food and plenty of variety. The hospitality was exceptional and really made our stay in Kochi memorable.

The location in the heart of Fort Kochi, meters away from historical churches, Chinese fishing nets and the new Water metro and Junker station make it an excellent choice for stay and discovering the rest of the Island

Everything was amazing! We were made to feel so special and welcome - everyone went above and beyond. The meals were incredible, the room was amazing (the biggest bath I’ve ever seen!) and the pool was a highlight for the kids. Perfect location for walking around Fort Kochi and seeing the sights. This was really a highlight of our trip! Thank you!

Great hotel! Very accomodating staff from the get go. I arrived at 5am and they were all awake and available for my arrival. Anything I required they had sorted. Breakfast was a mix of traditional and continental buffet and fresh cook to order which was incredible. I had a balcony which wasn’t garden facing and I almost preferred this as it was more private. Price matches the quality. Many have noted ‘outdated’ rooms but I actually just think this is traditional style rather than outdated. Air con in the room remains on when you remove the key from the slot to turn lights on. Great location, walkable to everywhere but away enough from the hustle and bustle of princess street. The tuktuk tour they arranged was perfect!

כלום. מושלם ! חשבתי שזה כולל שאטל לשדה תעופה הלוך ושוב. אבל לא, סידרו לי מונית נהדרת בתשלום שהיה מעט יקר יותר מהובר

The hotel is in an ideal location in the old town of Fort Kochi. All the attractions are easily reachable by foot, and there are lots of restaurants and even a Kathakali show nearby. The price of the hotel included a 2 hour Tuc Tuc drive and a guided morning walk, which were both great. The room was spacious and clean. The Buffet breakfast was great with a good choice (the only thing I missed was Muesli). Free afternoon tea/coffee. Good selection of food for dinner. The kitchen can on request prepare the dishes with less or no chili for sensitive stomachs.😋 The biggest asset is probably the staff: always friendly and helpful.

What I found slightly confusing was that there were several multi-gang switches in the room, but without indications which switch is for what. So I had to "play piano" every time to put on what I needed.

Really loved our stay, as the property came above our expectation including the location. The other standout was the "Service, warm,friendly, attentive and caring staff personals from the security, the front check in reception, the restaurant and house keeping all talented professional and helpful" that made our stay comfortable. We were glad that we selected to stay at this property and experience the hospitality of a well run hotel. Would definitely recommend the property.

A very nice hotel. We enjoyed the pool and the bed was SUPER comfortable. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a little expensive but very nice, and the breakfast options were great with both a continental buffet and cooked breakfasts available.

La ubicación increíble, el desayuno excelente para cualquier nacionalidad, las instalaciones muy buenas y el personal sumamente amable. Le notificamos de nuestra llegada en la madrugada y ahí estaba todo el equipo listos para recibirnos, un servicio excepcional, Quedo muy agradecido con todos en el hotel por su trato de excelencia y gran amabilidad.

Podría mejorarse la insonorización de las ventanas y balcones, en época de Monsoon la lluvia puede despertarte, para mi no fue un problema, pero para unos amigos más sensibles sí un poco. Fuera de eso, yo disfruté el sonido de la lluvia.

Our stay at Eight Bastion was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The entire team made us feel so welcome and cared for throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. We loved the complimentary tuk-tuk sightseeing tour, which was a wonderful way to discover Fort Kochi. The food at East Indies, the hotel’s restaurant, was excellent, and the pool was fantastic—our daughter absolutely loved spending time there. As we had a very early flight, the staff kindly prepared a breakfast pack for us, which we greatly appreciated. It’s these thoughtful touches and the genuine warmth of the team that made our stay so special. Thank you to everyone at Eight Bastion for your outstanding hospitality. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fort Kochi.

Everything was excellent. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and were always ready to help with anything we needed. The property was well maintained, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere made our stay very enjoyable.

The only minor disappointment was the hot chocolate served at the restaurant. It tasted quite bland and wasn't what we expected. Apart from that, everything else was wonderful, and we had a great experience.

Hôtel tres bien situé pour visiter Fort Kochi. Grande chambre propre et disposant de tout ( bouilloire, tasses, ventilateur, brosse à dents, peigne, etc…) piscine super agréable. Le petit-déjeuner buffet est excellent avec choix sur une carte du menu sucré ou salé. Le meilleur expresso que j’ai bu en Inde, délicieux pancakes, jus de fruits variés, bref le paradis pour les gourmands. Le personnel est merveilleux : discret et souriant, on se sent à la maison! On a passé un super moment et bien sûr qu’on a envie d’y retourner! Merci à vous tous! 🙏🏻

We loved our two night stay - the hotel is a lovely quiet haven from busy streets of Kochi. The hotel takes its sustainability policy very seriously with minimal plastics and real leaf tea with teapots in rooms -so no tea bags! But it was the wonderful staff and delicious food that made our stay perfect

Staff left you to it rather than taking any interest. Not a problem - but not quite as attentive as other places we’ve experienced in these parts Interior is a little dated. Again, it comes with its own charm. I don’t recommend the garden room - people walk right past it - so you can never have the curtains open which was a shame

The food here is excellent: variety, quantity, quality and beautifully served. Some very delicious local dishes on the menu, and all top quality well presented. The staff are attentive, professional and helpful. For example we checked out early in the morning for a flight. The reception staff provided a breakfast pack for us to take away. Our room was large, with high ceilings and both AC and fan. The balcony was generously sized. Sadly we didn't have the opportunity to use the pool. It looked very inviting. The hotel location is very good with Fort Kochi Beach a block away and close to several places of interest.

Eighth Bastion was the best place we have stayed in 8 months of travelling. It was beautiful, clean, great facilities and the staff were all so helpful and welcoming but without being over bearing. We felt so comfortable throughout our stay, and the breakfast selection was amazing. The value of this hotel was incredible and we would come back again in a heartbeat. The tuktuk tour they arranged was also great and the location is fab!

Service was par Excellence. Thr staff from the security front office room service the restaurant were all very polite and professional and attended to everything. Hotel was clean and the complimentary coffee and tea collection in the.room was fabulous. The bathrooms were spacious clean and well lit. The room was adequate and very comfy bed. We had a large balcony which was great .Breakfast food was more than adequate and they had a menu we could order any type Eggs or indian foods and a wide choice of coffee or tea in complimentary breakfast .

The room house slippers were a bit flimsy and easily come apart but they were still adequate .

Piscine sympa aussi. Super bien placé. Plage, filets de pêche et théâtre disponibles à pieds. Merci infiniment super séjour. Nous avons même prolongé d’une nuit.

Chambre au rez de chaussée devant l’accueil un peu bruyante la première nuit parce que clients bruyants en face. Eau piscine pourrait être un rien plus fraîche. Visite en tuktuk sympa sauf les arrêts dans les magasins où on se sente poussés d’acheter. Ce ne sont que des détails l’expérience globale était vraiment top!

We stayed at this property for 3 days, and from the moment we arrived, it never felt like a hotel — it felt like a warm, relaxed home. The staff made us feel like family, and their warmth and hospitality truly stood out throughout our stay. My 2-year-old toddler had the best time here. The pool was so easily accessible, which made it perfect for a family stay, and being right in the heart of Fort Kochi meant everything was within walking distance. For two whole days, we simply soaked in the calm atmosphere, chilled by the pool, and enjoyed how attentive and helpful the staff always were. We’re definitely coming back soon — we already miss the place!

The room service was a bit intrusive - they would make up your room & then check again later if you want anything.

It is like living in your own beautiful house in the middle of Fort Kochi. Complements to the staff who made my stay very exiting ..🙏

The dinner menu has very little choices .. Kerela’s culinary is very rich hence there should be more choices on the menu..
