I loved the location a piece of paradise in Ponta Delgarda … beautiful surroundings… stunning pool and hot tub, amazing rooms … super comfy bed and beautiful reception rooms to chill in, breakfasts were perfect … check in super quick and smooth a shout out to Samuel … staff were attentive and accommodating…. Had dinner one night with delicious cocktails and wine … veal cooked to perfection… and amazing service … thank you to sonaia for the hand written note we arrived too a lovely touch !

Hotel situato in una villa d'epoca molto curato con uno staff eccezionale, ottima colazione, ricercata e genuina, molto abbondante di prodotti a scelta e a buffet. Parcheggio gratuito interno , piscina . Tanti servizi e servizio di concierge eccellente. Posizione ottima, anche se un po' in collina. Struttura ben arredata: camere, salotti, spazio comuni molto curati con gusto e stile. Giardino botanico bellissimo e rilassante , colazione outdoor valida.

Здесь прошлое не пытаются превратить в музейную декорацию, а бережно вплетают в современность, и, пожалуй, именно это создает его особенную атмосферу. Уже в номере нас ждало небольшое, но очень теплое приветствие — письмо от персонала, написанное от руки. Казалось бы, мелочь, но именно из таких деталей постепенно складывается впечатление, что здесь действительно думали о гостях. Сам номер оказался невероятно красивым: винтажные предметы и элементы интерьера соседствуют с современными деталями настолько естественно, будто всегда были частью одного пространства. Ничего лишнего, ничего случайного — все подобрано со вкусом и вниманием к истории этого места. Отдельное удовольствие — территория отеля. Здесь есть прекрасный старый парк, по которому хочется просто неспешно гулять, никуда не торопясь. Утром, после завтрака, или вечером он становится еще одной частью отдыха, а не просто красивым фоном вокруг здания. Есть бассейн и достаточно просторное джакузи, где нам было комфортно проводить время вместе с ребенком. В теплые дни вода в основном бассейне была очень приятной — без того ледяного ощущения, из-за которого иногда совершенно не хочется заходить в воду. Но больше всего запоминается общая атмосфера. Персонал всегда рядом, если нужна помощь или совет, при этом без излишней навязчивости. А расположение позволяет наслаждаться тишиной и зеленью, оставаясь всего в нескольких минутах езды от центра города. Это тот случай, когда возвращаешься вечером в отель не просто переночевать, а с удовольствием провести там время. И если бы я заранее не знала, что у него всего три звезды, никогда бы об этом не догадалась. По уровню интерьеров, территории, сервиса и внимания к деталям ощущение совершенно другое.

При всех плюсах отеля есть несколько моментов, которые, на наш взгляд, могли бы сделать пребывание здесь еще более комфортным. Отсутствие лифта для нас не стало проблемой — мы знали об этом заранее благодаря отзывам других гостей. Следующий момент я бы даже не назвала минусом — скорее небольшим пожеланием владельцам. В номере очень не хватало утюга или отпаривателя. По нашей просьбе персонал без проблем предоставил парогенератор, однако гораздо удобнее было бы иметь его непосредственно в номере. После дороги вещи в чемодане неизбежно мнутся, и возможность сразу привести их в порядок — та небольшая бытовая деталь, которая заметно добавляет комфорта. И еще одно пожелание касается гостиничных гигиенических наборов — причем, пожалуй, уже не только этого конкретного отеля, а индустрии в целом. Было бы здорово увидеть более современный подход к их наполнению. Например, вместо очередной шапочки для душа предусмотреть хотя бы одну прокладку или тампон. В XXI веке средства женской гигиены в отеле кажутся куда более актуальной и действительно полезной мелочью. Женщины составляют огромную часть путешественников, а стандартные гостиничные наборы почему-то меняются гораздо медленнее, чем сами потребности гостей. Ни один из этих моментов не испортил нам впечатления от отеля. Скорее это те небольшие детали, которые могли бы сделать и без того прекрасное место еще более продуманным и комфортным для самых разных гостей.

Nous avons passé un séjour absolument merveilleux. C'est un véritable hôtel de charme, intimiste, avec très peu de chambres, ce qui donne l'impression d'être comme chez soi. L'atmosphère est paisible et chaleureuse, loin des grands établissements impersonnels. L'hôtel est niché au cœur d'un magnifique parc luxuriant, parfaitement entretenu, où il fait bon se promener et se ressourcer. Après une journée d'excursions à découvrir les merveilles des Açores, quel plaisir de profiter de la piscine et du jacuzzi pour se détendre dans un cadre aussi calme. Le personnel mérite une mention toute particulière : toute l'équipe est aux petits soins, toujours souriante, disponible et attentive au moindre détail. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est également une très belle surprise, avec une cuisine délicieuse et des produits de qualité. Le parking privé est un vrai plus, très pratique pour explorer l'île en voiture en toute sérénité.

This was one of my favorite places to stay on the island. The pool, the gardens, and the interior design were beautiful. We stayed in another hotel closer to the center as well, but I preferred this location. The private, easily accessible parking was a huge bonus in Ponta Delgada.

Het is een hele mooie fijne plek met ontzettend veel mooie details. Een welkoms bericht op je kamer, kleine attentie bij weggaan, fantastisch ontbijt, mega mooi ingericht, mooie omgeving, lekkere geur die overal wordt verspreidt, zacht beddengoed, welkomskoekjes en ga zo maar door. Echt tot in de puntjes geregeld. Het personeel wil je overal bij helpen en proberen het beste voor je te regelen. Een fijn verblijf gehad. Een bijzondere slaapplek!

Ondanks dat alles in de puntjes geregeld leek , liepen we toch tegen een aantal punten aan die wij qua prijs/kwaliteit verhouding niet helemaal oke vonden. Onze doucheknop was kapot. Hier werd een monteur voor geregeld maar bleef onhandig in gebruik. We hadden mieren op de kamer en de airco maakte best veel lawaai. Ene ochtend was het ontbijt perfect aangevuld en soms niet en moesten we om beleg vragen. Voor de prijs die je betaald vonden wij dit een tikje tegenvallen. We sliepen voor deze slaapplek in een ander hotel op Sao Miguel en die was het helft van het geld en leek meer waar voor het geld. We zagen wel dat het personeel heel erg hun best deed dus daar lag het niet aan. Persoonlijk vonden wij het bed echt niet lekker liggen maar dit is een persoonlijke kwestie. Het bed lag super hard. We reizen veel en hebben over het algemeen weinig problemen met bedden. Al met al vooral een hele mooie plek maar heeft voor dit geld wel wat aandachtpuntjes om het echt overall top te maken.

Beautiful historic home in a botanic garden with enormous trees and fragrant flowers. The pool and hot tub were perfect to relax after a day of hiking.

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig ein Zimmer in diesem Hotel gebucht, da unser Heimflug um einen Tag verschoben wurde. Die Buchung war absolut problemlos und wir durften auch vor dem regulären Check-in das Zimmer beziehen. Alles an diesem Hotel ist einzigartig, so viel Liebe zum Detail findet man selten. Wir haben viel Freude sowohl beim Abendessen und auch beim Frühstuck gehabt. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Ein besonderer Dank gilt allen Mitarbeitern, die diesen (leider sehr kurzen) Aufenthalt zu einem besonderen Urlaubsabschluss für uns gemacht haben. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Zentrale und doch ruhige Lage direkt neben dem Botanischen Garten. Schöner Pool, Garten und Whirlpool.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in mitten eines botanischen Gartens. Tolle Anlage mit Pool, den wir allerdings aufgrund des Wetters nicht nutzten. Zimmer (Suite) war sauber und großzügig. Frühstück war ebenso ausreichend.

Nur Kleinigkeiten, dass zB das Personal etwas aufmerksamer bzw. Präsenter sein könnte. Man bekommt aber alles, das man benötigt. Evt. mit etwas Wartezeit. Und wichtig zu wissen, dass es keinen Lift im Haus gibt (viele Zimmer jedoch nur über eine Stiege erreichbar sind).

The Solar dos Cantos Hotel Botanic House is fantastically equipped. Great ambiance and very stylishly furnished. A wonderful garden including a lovely pool. The staff is welcoming and helpful in every situation. Very nice breakfast. It also has a large, secure, free parking lot. Should we fly to the Azores again, we will definitely stay at Solar dos Cantos again.

The hotel is in a beautiful garden with views across the city to the port. It is in a well restored old mansion with spaces to rest - a library and a writing room. Bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds and plenty of plugs for laptops / pads etc. An easy walk to the city and the waterfront but quite a steep climb up the hill back to the hotel - not a problem for us, but it is something to keep in mind if you have some mobility issues

The staff were all delightful but not always easy to find them. There was often no-one at the reception and even though there is a button at the desk to call for someone, it is small, very discreet (as in not noticeable unless you are looking for it) and in any case it seems a bit odd that there is often no-one at the reception desk in a hotel. A small issue that did not bother us personally, but was an issue for the taxis we took: there are two entrances to the hotel, both with very narrow and difficult gates. Taxis found it very difficult to maneuver to get in - an not all taxis even knew that there is a second entry (though just as tight and narrow) at an upper level which is important for visitors in the upstairs rooms with heavy luggage.

Heerlijk ontbijt, zelden zo uitgebreid en lekker meegemaakt. De tuin met een prachtige dikke boom en veel bijzondere planten. Een oase van rust compleet met vogelconcert. Het zwembad met verwarmde whirlpool. De kamer is luxe en smaakvol ingericht.

Vanaf de houten vlonder, bij het zwembad, stap je op een zeer gladde, in mijn geval natte tegel, in de daarbij gelegen doucheruimte. Had dit niet verwacht en ben hard onderuit gegaan. Heb als souvenir van deze prachtige plek een gekneusde pink. Desondanks zou ik er zo weer naar toe willen. Een gewaarschuwd mens, telt voor twee😀

The property was beautifully appointed. Our room was large, updated and very comfortable. The grounds were manicured with sitting areas sprinkled through out. The pool area was well maintained and modern. Unfortunately when we were there the weather wasn’t the best so we were unable to enjoy the outdoor facilities. There are cozy public spaces where you can sit and read, play chess, or sip cocktails. The breakfast had several delicious choices with some healthy options. And the staff were a 10. The location is about a 10 minute walk into town which we purposely chose because it is private and tranquil away from the busy city, and we got our daily steps in. It’s a perfect walk after dinner in town.

Wir hatten eines der oberen Zimmer, sehr geräumig und schön eingerichtet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Hotel und die Räume sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Garten ist sehr schön. Pool und Jakuzzi machen Spaß.

Die Matratze ist/war für schwerer Personen nicht besonders geeignet. Die Federn (Federkern) spürt man schon, bzw. Biegen sich ordentlich durch. Das gute Frühstück ist wenig abwechslungsreich. Offensichtlich wenig Erfahrung mit Lunchpaketen (anstelle Frühstück), 1x komplett vergessen, das zweite war, naja … Hauptsache es macht halbwegs satt.

O pequeno-almoço foi ótimo: tinha ananás dos Açores e um bolo caseiro muito bom!

The property sits within a beautiful botanical garden and is the perfect location to walk into ponta delgada. The breakfast was just right and great to fuel us for the day's activities. All the staff were super friendly professional and made us feel at home straight away. A special mention to Roberto (I think) he welcomed us in such a warm and friendly way and it was the perfect start to our exciting adventure on the island. For experiencing the island without having to worry about renting a car for the first few days, solar dos cantos was perfect. The rooms were elegantly decorated and the stay at the property was definitely the best we had on the island and we wished we'd stayed there longer.oh and the lounge/study/ sitting room in the shared area was so cozy and relaxing . Don't forget to check out the rest of the huge amazing botanical garden adjacent to solar dos cantos

The accommodation is perfect, clean. But above all the staff is incredibly helpfull and nice. This is what’s hospitality means. We travelled a lot but almost never seen this kind of hospitality. Thank you so much!!

Beautiful old building extremely well decorated and furnished in a secluded quiet garden adjoining the botanical garden. Rooms large but cosy even with the cold weather we got that week. Staff attentive, breakfasts great variety, nice looking pool and jacuzzi.

К сожалению мы не смогли позавтракать горячими блюдами (2 утра из 3х). Видимо не хватает персонала. К нам просто не подходили, чтобы принять заказ и никого не было, чтобы позвать. Сами яйца (просто жареные или скрембл) могут готовить минут 20-30! Заселение тоже было не быстрым, хотя это было в 20 вечера и перед нами была всего одна девушка. Так же при заселении нам рассказали про теплый джакузи, но он не работал все три дня пока мы были там :)

The hotel is not only beautiful, but the location was excellent and lush. The interior decor was amazing and the room was huge and clean. The bathroom was perfect! The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was terrific and changed some every day. The garden and pool area were perfection!

The property was beautiful with wonderful gardens and a wood lot Trail. We had a view of the ocean. It was previously a manor and all the rules are beautifully done . There was a swimming pool and a sauna. It was a bit cool in the season for us to use. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were very accommodating and informative. They were always available for questions. We don’t want to leave and would definitely come back again. By the way the parking was fabulous. They have their own secured parking lot.

This is a beautiful property, historic but with modern comforts and plenty of space, both inside and outside, to relax. We didn't use the pool or the jacuzzi as the weather wasn't too warm, but they look lovely. It's in a fringe of town location but so long as you are reasonably energetic and mobile you can reach the centre of Ponta Delgada on foot in around 25 minutes. The hotel breakfast was really good. We didn't try much from the light meals menu and what we had was fairly basic, but we did use the honesty bar, which is a useful-to-have facility. We found all the staff members to be very friendly and helpful and they went out of their way to provide early breakfast for us on our last day. Our room was extremely large with windows on two sides - very comfortable. Parking is on site and you are given a fob to get in and out of the car park.

Unfortunately there were some stains on the fabric headboard covering in our room, slightly offputting but we looked past it. The bathroom door is glass and if someone uses the bathroom during the night the light will spill out into the room. Again, not a deal breaker for us but noticeable. The honesty bar was a bit expensive at 4 euro for a tiny beer, but it was convenient.

This boutique hotel has beautiful grounds which includes a hilltop view, ancient trees, a pool and a 24-hour jacuzzi. The location is quiet, safe, and 15 min walk from a mall with a large selection of stores for emergency shopping. The classically decorated rooms were airy, spacious, and had very modern conveniences such as abundant plugs and USB charging ports, as well as a heated towel rack! The breakfast is very healthy, fresh, and delicious. One small imperfection was that when we booked, we requested via email for 2 separate beds since we were two friends and not a couple, which the hotel confirmed. It was unfortunate that even though we requested months in advance, we were told upon check-in they could not accommodate us because the hotel was fully occupied. However, upon further inquiry, the hotel switched us to a 2-single-bed room the next day and gave us a free bottle of wine and a meat&cheese board as compensation. While this was very satisfactory, I wish it was offered proactively instead of the guest having to request it. We were also not given a parking transponder upon check-in, and only got one when requested the next day. For guests that drive, a transponder is a must because the receptionist was sometimes away from the desk and could not open the parking gate right away when driving in and out. Lastly, I wish the jacuzzi temperature was hotter. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay during our time on the island. Staff was amazing, breakfast was perfect every morning. They even provided a birthday cake for me during our stay. The history of the house added to the charm. Room was lovely.

This was our first hotel on our Saõ Miguel trip and I can tell you that there aren’t many places like this! The whole property was very well maintained and room was stunning! The breakfast was one the best I’ve ever had with many local products and we just adored the whole colorful interior and the breathtaking garden. But what really made our stay unforgettable was Miriam and the whole staff who were the most friendliest and sweetest people ❤️ We will be back!

I’ve stayed here before and the staff and hotel is great. Nice breakfast and warm comfortable feel. Sitting rooms with fireplace as well as exterior sitting areas with fireplaces. Pool and jacuzzi as well. I would stay here again!

Very nice room and very friendly hotel staff. The breakfast was a bit limited… hot items were lukewarm at best. Scrambled eggs and bacon were good. Vegetables were overcooked and not appetizing. Nice selection of bread and jams. Our room was over the kitchen area and the staff was noisy in the evening going into the night so another room might be better.

Lovely renovated property with views over Ponta Delgada. Would be nice to have teas and kettle available in the room, coffee machine was available. Also tea and coffee can be made all day in the breakfast area.
