Lovely and tranquil environment, relaxing and the view was exceptional. Braai facility on the deck while over looking the dam and watching the sunset was a magical moment. Host and staff were very friendly and helpful.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an incredible getaway! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The owner was exceptionally friendly and took the time to show us around the property, making us feel right at home from the start. The cabin itself is absolutely perfect. Nestled alongside the lake, the setting is picturesque and peaceful, offering stunning views and a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights was having access to the boat, allowing us to explore the lake and fully appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. The cabin is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bed is enormous and incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. While there is no TV, that is part of the charm. The focus here is on relaxation, disconnecting, and enjoying nature. If you'd like a little entertainment in the evenings, bringing along a small speaker or laptop is more than enough. This was exactly the break we needed, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you're looking for peace, comfort, beautiful scenery, and warm hospitality, this is the perfect destination. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

There was honestly very little to fault during our stay. The only thing worth mentioning is that the area (Karkloof) can get quite windy at times (at least during our visit), and the weather can change quickly without much warning. I'd recommend keeping any loose belongings secured or indoors during the evening. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience and not something that would stop us from returning.

EVERYTHING - We stayed at Ekuthuleni Wooden Cabin for our honeymoon, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, romantic, and perfectly suited for a special getaway. The cabin itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views over the lake and a sense of privacy and tranquility that made it so easy to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Our host was incredibly kind and sweet, going out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Those thoughtful touches made our stay even more special. We had the best time and already can’t wait to go back. And we actually managed to see Venus through the telescope during their conjunction.

Loved everything about it. It was a beautiful hidden gem. So peaceful. Had everything you would want and more.

Only thing that is missing is a few casserole dishes or plastic containers. There is really nothing to put salad into or left overs into the fridge.

The owner was lovely with an excellent sense of humor. The location itself is beyond gorgeous we had the best night star gazing and having conversations with owls. The cabin was surprisingly very well equipped and we felt sad that we only booked one night there. 12/10 would go back again ❤️✨

Only staying there for one night. The route made us a little nervous as we had struggled to come down the proper way on the main road but it was only mildly concerning if you have anxiety.

The instructions for checking in were clear, The host Sduduzo was very welcoming and assisted us very swiftly, the location of the cabin is very remote and private, the property is alegant and beautiful the views were breathtaking you can see the sunrise straight from the bed

The setting is absolutely beautiful. The welcoming board and chocies upon our arrival was so special. The nature setting and bird life was fantastic. The little boat available to explore the lake was great!!! We will definately be back.

If you love nature this is the place to stay. We enjoyed everything. The sound of the birds and the ducks and the russle of wind through the trees. We caught and released so many bass. Glow worms flying around while we braaied. The occasional thunderstorm and beautiful sunsets. Look no further.....

The location, almost suspended over a dam with great views, sunsets and sunrises, is exceptional. The one way glass stacking doors on 2 sides make you feel one with the surrounds. A large wide deck above the edge of the dam is a wonderful place to chill on and take in the atmosphere and sunset. The cabin is very well appointed with all the facilities, equipment and creature comforts you could want and need. Our hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This place is a knockout venue for a overnight or weekend stay.

There is nothing not to like.

This stay was pure magic. The home sits right on the lake, and it’s genuinely one of the most serene places I’ve ever been, like stepping into a little slice of paradise. The peaceful water, the quiet surroundings, and the cozy atmosphere made it the perfect escape. The hosts were absolutely wonderful too: warm, welcoming, and so easy to communicate with. I left feeling refreshed and already wishing I could stay longer. Highly recommend this beautiful spot!

This place is an absolute gem. We will definitely be back - before and for our wedding night! I hope it doesn't get crowded with the glamping on site. The privacy and isolation was splendid!! 10//10. Just perfect.

We loved it all!

We had a wonderful stay in a cabin right on the dam, not far from Karkloof Falls. The cabin was extremely comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed and more. It was spotless and very well equipped, with fast and reliable Wi-Fi, all the necessary amenities, and lots of thoughtful little details and items we never expected to be provided. The setting is truly a slice of heaven, with beautiful country views, peaceful surroundings, and an abundance of birdlife all around. It was serene and relaxing. We enjoyed some fishing on the dam and caught a couple of bass, which we happily released. The location is perfect for exploring the Midlands Meander, nearby waterfalls, and surrounding trails. Our host was attentive and gave us a warm welcome on arrival, which made us feel at home immediately. Overall, an exceptional stay and we would absolutely return and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a peaceful Midlands escape.

The cottage was very comfortable and the scenery overlooking the damn, sublime. The cottage was pretty much kitted with everything, even a telescope, outdoor umbrella for the patio and boat with sneaker motor. The fishing was excellent and I caught over 20 bass in the time we were there. I great “fisherman’s cottage”. The damn was crystal clear.

The water pump in the bathroom is noisy when in operation and should probably be outside. Not a major issue though.

A gem of a place to stay. A hidden oasis where you can enjoy nature while still having the luxury of modern facilities. Nice hiking trails around the area. Braai, sky watching and boating facilities provided. Very romantic. Hosts are superb and very kind.

This is an absolute gem! The location is serene and beautiful in any weather. It was such a treat to wake up with the kingfishers, throw a line in the lake, make a cup of tea and sit on the deck. We were made to feel at home by the amazing hosts. They greeted us with a smile and warm welcome, and were always there to help.

To be honest, I can't really fault it.

This was our 2nd stay here and we really enjoyed it. The bird life is amazing. Bass fishing was good, but not as good as the 1st time. The cabin is very comfy, with everything you need. We will be going again.

The peacefulness of nature was exceptional. The lake and land were really well kept and provided a great feel.

The immersion in nature, to city life it is soooo quiet all you can hear is nature. The stunning view you wake up to is so amazing something out of a fairytale. All the furniture is so comfortable. Everything you would need is already here, just have to stock up on foods. The hospitality and the caretaker looking after the place is amazing.

The bugs, but what can you do it's literally nature and a lake right Infront of you. That is to be expected lol. Although the products they use in the cabin is amazing to keep the bugs at bay.

It was perfect, the had everything we needed (and took with us but didn't have to!) The attention to detail was great. We were made to feel right at home straight away by the friendly caretaker, who advised us that he would be "blind and deaf " for the duration of our stay. It rained the whole weekend but we were kept busy with all the board games supplied, fishing off the deck - under the supplied umbrella - and entertained by the many sounds of the wildlife nearby We will definitelybe back!.

The only complaint we have is that our stay was too short!
