La douche ne fonctionne pas correctement : il n’y a pas de pression et il est impossible d’avoir une température correcte (soit elle est brûlante, soit elle est trop froide). Les draps étaient tachés et troués. Nous avons demandé à les changer, mais nous avons eu de nouveaux draps tachés. Le tapis devant la salle de bain était également sale. La bouilloire n’avait pas été nettoyée avant notre arrivée : il y avait encore les feuilles de thé et le thé préparé par les précédents occupants de la chambre. La personne qui nous a accueillis et qui a été notre interlocuteur n’était pas très aimable. Aucune empathie malgré tous les désagréments que nous avons signalés.

מאוד אהבתי את הנוף!!! פשוט מול אלה רוק, מהמם!!! מיטה נוחה, כילה כיפית נגד יתושים. מאוורר. אין מזגן אבל אין צורך. ארוחת בוקר מול הנוף, מרשים מאוד. בעל הבית עוזר בכל דבר שצריך

זרם במקלחת בעייתי או רותח או קפוא, לא הצלחנו להגיע לאמצע. אבל בעל הבית ניסה לעזור בכל דרך!

The view was absolutely spectacular and definitely the highlight of the stay.

The cleanliness and facilities were disappointing. The amenities were very basic, hot water took a long time to come, and the water pressure was very weak. There were also beard hairs on the sink and under the mirror area where we placed our things, which was quite off-putting. The bedsheets were not very clean. Overall, it didn’t feel well maintained.

Beautiful view, great breakfast and good location, a few hills but necessary if you want the good views and only 5 min tuk tuk into the centre of Ella. Staff were really lovely and helpful.

Wish they offered cleaning when we were there for a 3 days, especially the toilet bin, but equally we didn’t ask. Some building works which were loud.

Wir hatten ein großes, geräumiges Zimmer mit einer schönen Terrasse. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich, vielfältig und sehr lecker. Der Mann, der uns das Frühstück zubereitete (leider weiß ich den Namen nicht), war immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und machte seine Arbeit, wie auch das Zimmer putzen, ausgezeichnet. Die Unterkunft befindet sich etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum, daher ist es ruhig und es gibt auch hier einige Restaurants in der Nähe.

The view on the Ella pick with a nice balcony. The staff very nice and helpful. The room was confortable.

The access to the hotel very narrow road and part in mud. The hotel is still in construction.. therefore just three rooms are done and when you leave the balcony you are in mud and difficult to join the main street. Only tuk tuk can come to this place.

You walk into a building site - it’s all run down. Disgusting litter everywhere. The lock on our bedroom didn’t work properly so we felt unsafe to leave our bags in there. Our bathroom was dirty with another guests black hair all stuck to the hall where I am supposed to hang my towel. The electrics were hanging out of the wall, and sparking in the middle of the night which was scary! Dirty marks all up the walls. Some plug sockets not working. No AC. No Mosquito nets. Bathroom and bedrooms are very outdated and need redecorating. Breakfast was very basic. Very over priced!

Fantastic accommodation with scenic views of the mountains. Away from the hustle of town. Breakfast is delicious. Highly recommend. Town is about a 10min walk

Parking is a little hard, driving car on small roads is treacherous

Las vistas desde la habitación y durante el desayuno son espectaculares. A unos minutos del centro de Ella caminando, se agradece si os gusta la calma porque el centro es muy ruidoso. En cambio está muy bien situado para las excursiones. Personal amable y muy buen desayuno (estuvimos dos días y varió los dos días).

En la entrada hay obras, no se nota nada desde la habitación pero el aparcamiento temporalmente es más complicado (aunque te ayudan sin problema a entrar y salir), seguro que en los próximos meses mejora.

Diese Unterkunft überzeugt durch unglaublich schöne Aussicht vom Zimmer, sowie von der frei nutzbaren Dachterrasse, auf welcher es das hervorragende Frühstück gab. Der Gastgeber vor Ort - Sameer - war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zu Fuß ist man in ca. 10 min an der Hauptstraße in Ella.

Die Zimmerausstattung ist sehr simpel und schon älter. Im Bad roch es sehr modrig/schimmelig, man konnte kein Fenster öffnen. Auch die Handtücher rochen streng und nicht sauber. Der Kontakt zu dem Hotel-Manager vor unserer Anreise war nicht sehr hilfreich. Er half uns weder bei der Organisation eines Flughafen-Transfers noch empfahl er uns einen Guide.

Door lock looked like it could be easily opened. We underestimated the effort it took to get there from main road. This is worth it for the view and the isolation you get. Not necessarily negative, just keep it in mind.

Heerlijk ontbijt, beste van onze vakantie. Vriendelijke kok. Mooi uitzicht bij ontbijt en kamers.

Een hinderlijke geur op de kamer geeft een minder hygiënische indruk. Buiten dat is kamer basic. Fyi: Ella centrum 10 min stappen via steilere kleine weg.

La vue superbe depuis la chambre et le petit déjeuner. A proximité immédiate du centre ville tout en restant au calme. Le personnel attentionné. Un très bon petit déjeuner, la literie.

La proximité de travaux actuellement (sans désagrément sonore)

Uitzicht was mooi, 10 minuten lopen naar het dorp.

De kamer was niet heel schoon. Er lag nog eten in de koelkast en de bedden voelden beetje groezelig. Er was ook nooit iemand aanwezig. Guest house ligt nu in een soort bouwput, kunnen ze niks aan doen natuurlijk. Het stonk ook erg, zeer muf. Ontbijt was prima. Vonden het erg tegenvallen en snappen de goede recensies ook niet goed.

The hotel is rooms only - no other facilities, So should cost less. The rooms are currently next to a building site which may have been the restaurant area/bar. There is a lot of building in Ella at the moment in anticipation of future tourism.

The location and view were amazing.

It was unfortunate that they are in the middle of building works, once this has been completed, the venue should be much improved. The owner was also open to more suggestions which hopefully will also enhance a visitors experience. Both this guest house and the surrounding buildings are undergoing renovation. The whole of Ella is developing fast, with building works all over, I hope they keep the charm of the village, as the location is amazing for its natural beauty and beautiful people.

The host was so friendly and welcoming and the room (delux double) was absolutely beautiful. The views are magnificent as were the delicious breakfasts! We saw so many birds and other wildlife from our terrace. With a quick no more than 10 minute walk into Ella it was perfectly situated! The host also helped to organise a trip to Udawalawe national park much cheaper than other places!

The view was amazing. The host Sameer was very helpful and nice. Clean rooms, all amenities were available.

This is a great little guest house! Amazing views and a very comfortable bed. I slept very well! It was an easy 10 minute walk to the main road in Ella, and took me 25 minutes to walk to 9 Arches Bridge! But walking back to Ella train station took me 50 mins as I casually wandered back along the tracks! Lovely breakfast! Shower was acceptable, eventually the hotel water came through! Great location, easy enough to walk to places especially the main road! And visit Chill Cafe- wonderful food and drinks! Amazing breakfast, they were very accommodating when I asked for egg hoppers!

The only thing that bothered me was the smell, it was like a musty smell. It really was quite bad. I dont know if it was just my room or all! No fridge in room and had to pay cash.

Clean and comfortable room with an amazing view . In a quiet location but easy walking distance into town . The breakfast was delicious as was the curry and rice that the staff made for us one night. Highly recommend

It had a fantastic view. Large, tasty breakfast served on the rooftop. They did a good job with our laundry and we had it returned the same day.

Lovely views once the rain cleared. Really nice and big breakfast. Location was nestled away to be secluded but then only a 10 minute walk to Ella town or 10 minute walk to start of Nine arch bridge or little Adams Peak.

breathtaking views, lovely small (I think only a few rooms) retreat with a view! and still very close to the centre of the town. We really enjoyed everything at Ridge View Hotel - the owner/manager was lovely and helpful with booking tuk tuks and giving us advice on walking trails to see everything. It was all very central and not too hard to the walking trails,

we wished we stayed longer.

Absolutely loved this stay. Ella beautifully situated which makes it a hot spot for tourists. Although the town offers various places to eat, drink and shop at times its busyness is not enjoyable. Where the Ridge View Guest House is situated is in the perfect location from town and being surrounded by the nature. The views waking up where the best me and my father have ever stayed. Overlooking Ella’s rock, in easy walking distance of little Adam’s peak and nine arch bridges (walk through the jungle to get there). The rooms were spacious and clean, everything you need to find a bit more peace in the hills. Breakfast was huge and really set you up for the day for any hiking. Each day we got to try a different Sri Lankan breakfast which was so yum! The owners and his family were very helpful in assisting us to our next destination. If I had longer on this trip would have stayed here longer just for the view.

The room felt and smelt damp. The bedding felt damp. It wasn't pleasant. The windows were very dirty. It was also very noises. No soundproofing

The owner forgot our booking and one night we had to live in one place, the other two nights in another (better) place. It’s hard to park the car near the place.

This is a lovely little guest house to stay in. We paid for the deluxe room which was well worth it for the view. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you, food was great. Location is in between Ella town and attractions such as Adam’s Peak and the 9 arche bridge

View of Ella rock was just incredible! Breath taking. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful again with the amazing view! A staff member even dropped us to the train station in the morning, with no charge.

The room did not have the facilities as listed, no hair dryer, no safety deposit box, no tea or coffee facilities. No shower gels etc. Which was a shame considering the price.

Nice view on Ella Rock and very good location. You can walk into the city centre. The room was good but the bathroom smelled bad and was constantly wet. Friendly and well-reachable host.

Not so much privacy only when curtains are closed. But then you miss the view.

Bugs in the room including cockroaches, urine smell like pillows that made us very uncomfortable to sleep, bathroom could be better organized.

This has to be the best homestay in Ella! The breathtaking views from the balcony are already worth a 10 star rating alone! We stayed in the deluxe room which seemed newly furnished and had everything we needed. We loved that they had a table and chairs for eating on the balcony as well as the comfiest beanbags for chilling with a view! We are both Vegan and the hosts happily made some nice options for breakfast for us no problem! There is a mini fridge in the room perfect for keeping some drinks and snacks cool as well as tea and coffee making stuff! The hosts are very friendly amd we're always happy to answer all of our many questions ;) They have a laundry service on site and can arrange a tuk tuk and other services easily. We loved our "cabin in the clouds" and would reccomend!!

Our stay was simply amazing! We checked out but decided to come back for another night as we had such a good experience! Also - we are vegan but they were happy to meet our needs when it comes to breakfast - it was SO good!! Thank you for having us!

The view from the second floor room was amazing. Nice staff, good breakfast and a comfortable bed. Good quiet location, 10min walk from town.

Ridge View Guest House is a beautiful accommodation in Ella. It is just a 10 min walk away from Ella town, ~20 min to Nine arches bridge and ~30min to little Adam’s Peak. The room we stayed was nice and clean, there was a ventilator and the beds had mosquito nets. The bathroom was clean as well. We even had some dishes in the room. The view from the terrace is beautiful, we enjoyed sitting there. The Sri Lankan breakfast was really good, we had fresh fruits, eggs and sri Lankan pancakes every morning. They always prepared breakfast at the time we wanted it. Everyone there was really friendly and helpful. Our ventilator broke down and they replaced it straight away. They also organized a driver for us to get to Mirissa. They also offer a laundry service and the price is okay.

The roads to Ella town has little or no light at night, but it was okay for us to walk it at night. They did our laundry, unfortunately some of the t-shirts smelled of smoke afterwards. But it's hard to say where it came from, as small fires were lit in the area from time to time.

We got an Upgrade for the room and had a spectacular view from it. Hosts were really friendly. Everything was clean and the breakfast was good. Great stay.

The owner was really nice and helpful. Nothing was too much. The room was comfortable and had amazing views. Easy walk into Ella centre, Little Adams Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge. Location was excellent.

A minor point, but something to either mop up after a shower, or a shower curtain. Or just remember not to wear socks 😊

The room was comfortable then expected. And they served an amazing breakfast at morning! At the end of our stay, they also arranged for us a taxi from Ella to Trincomalle at a very good price.

The whole area the the hotel is located is in development. They are building several new hotels. So you will also see some construction aside of the hills panorama.

The View is amazing. The stuff was friendly, helpful and they did the laundry service for me. The bed is really comfortable, bathroom clean. We had a little fridge in the room, cups, kettle and tea. Breakfast was everyday amazing and different food. Thank you !
