Near to where I was working
Very dated. Needs refurbishing. Never anyone at reception. Rooms not tidied
Location and comfort
The toilet would sometimes not flush properly.
Perfect location for my needs. The room was big but to be honest a little dated
The WiFi wasn’t great
The staff are very nice, the location is great for me, I've been staying here for over 25 years. It offers the very basics.
My TV didn't work; the place needs a refresh. The water pressure was poor, hot water was hit and miss, the bathrooms and rooms need a refresh. The whole building could do with upgrades to reflect 2026 and not 2000. There were not enough towels left in the room.
Comfy beds, good breakfast, close to restaurant.
Little contact with staff, but what contact we did have i feel could have been friendlier. I emailed a day or 2 prior to ask if any chance we could check in any earlier as we would be arriving very early in day, no response. No flexibility with either check in early or a later check out on asking.
Food looked amazing but didnt eat. Room was very clean and staff very pleasant
Couldnt really fault just a little bit too outside Preston centre but thats a choice thing
The bedding was dirty and had pubic hairs in it. Very tired, needing a freshen up. Staff were very apologetic about the state of the bedlinen
Bar was nice reception was good bed was comfortable and location was good
Location was good for what I needed
Breakfast didn’t start till later which meant I would miss the breakfast that was included in the price. Staff told me they would organise a packed breakfast bag for me to take with me, this was not done and so I didn’t get any breakfast
Good location, ample parking and welcoming staff on reception and at breakfast
Outskirts of town and quiet
Not modern
Nothing
Very dated. Needs a refurbishment
Good basic room with all you need.
Very good breakfast and eve meals ,ideal location for our day out ,staff friendly and helpful.
Only draw back too meny children running around in bar ,un supervised, hot food and drinks around .
Nothing
Smelt like a hospital Not well structured building Outside looked dirty Bad location Bad reception area
The hotel served it's purpose but wasn't great
There was a strange smell on the stairs and the bathroom smelt of marijuana
We liked the staff as they were very accommodating.
The breakfast was not up to scratch as the beans, mushroom, and sausage was cold.
Location very close to Blackpool and commutable to Lake District. Waffles were not included in kids breakfast but they offered for free for my kid.
Asked for a replacement portable fan they did not have one . Nights were hot and could not sleep well. Asked for croissants during breakfast they were over. The rooms were not tidied up after we left . No charging sockets near the beds. The path tub was cracked. No drinking water were provided in rooms too .
The young man who checked us in was excellent, we had a really late check in as in 2am and he was very accommodating. The hotel is very tired and in need of modernisation, the room smelt fusty. To be fair is was very cheap and served its purpose for 1 night whilst we was passing through. Breakfast the next morning in the Lea Gate pub was interesting, we went in at 9am and they ran out of sausages 😳 I ordered beans on toast and received 2 toast not buttered covered with the beans so no chance of adding butter.
The smell
It's a budget hotel, so no frills. Room was fine, shower worked, etc. It's part of a pub, so easy to get meals, drinks etc. Location was good, lots of free and easy parking.
Reception only open at limited times. No aircon in hotel. Rooms are dated.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, especially the reception girls Jane & Kate, they have always made me feel welcome.
Poor internet connectivity and low water pressure for the shower.
Plenty of parking, clean room, and any staff I spoke to were cheerful and friendly. A very spacious room, the bed a bit soft for my back, but the long, deep bath resolved that.
Absolutely zero mobile signal, literally no service, which made things very difficult trying to co-ordinate with the people I had come to visit. I had to resort to the in-house WiFi, and wait for them to respond. I'm amazed in this day and age, communication would be so restrictive. It really made things awkward.
Clean room, lovely staff
Breakfast was good, staff very helpful and friendly.
Wi-Fi could be better, everything else was good.
Staff interaction and evening meals was very good except from them not responding to bad feedback whilst there.
The negativess. The rooms in the hotel were disgusting and in need of immediate remedial repair. We went as a family, 2 couples, 2 rooms for a weekend break. One of the party left the hotel yesterday and cut their stay short due to the lack of room hygiene and more. The double beds were damn uncomfortable too and 3 out of the 4 of us woke with stiff backs the first morning. Ive even been bitten by some kind of bug in my sleep with several little bits on my hand. Their were missing lamp shades, dirty smells in the rooms, odd bulbs, dirty tables, carpets that should have been in the skip years ago, missing pump heads off soap dispensers and lots of free penicillin in the mould in the silicone on the bath. Loose hand rails that nearly come off the wall when getting in and out of the bath which we needed to use for mobility. The minimum legal requirements for the doors under fire safety regulations need immediate attention as the door on one of the rooms was a good inch off the floor, exceeding the 3mm gap guidelines by quite a margin and it would not provide the FD30 as required by law. This was an upper room floor and in my opinion needs addressing urgently, and it should have been picked up on both internal and external fire risk assessments. The breakfast was also very substandard with very little on the plate and it was by no means a full English breakfast. 1 sausage (undercooked) with 2 bacon, 2 hash browns a table spoon of beans with 1 mushroom isnt worth the £9 per head paid. I have taken plenty of pictures so please feel free to have a nosey through my gallery. I could go on but I think the pictures will fill in the gaps for anything I havnt written.
Bed was comfy
The shower was a trickle. Carpets were grimey
The bed was comfy and staff was all pleasant and friendly.
It was run down and smelt like an old folks home. We had two rooms and had to change one due to the smell
Great sized quiet back room, comfy bed. Clean but dated accommodation, small but functional bathroom. Staff very friendly and very accommodating.
Fair distance from central Preston, located on a very busy dual carriageway.
Personnel accueillant, tant au restaurant bar qu'à la réception et une belle chambre bien confortable.
Good for a one night stay, comfortable bed and easy check out.
It would be better if early check in was an option for guests
It's close to our family that we were visiting. Racheal stood out among the very lovely staff. And the chef brought out my husbands piached egg.
Nothing
location next to Hungry horse was perfect for where we needed to be, play area for kids was good, breakfast was good, lots of choice all staff friendly and helpful, would stay again
The rooms were very clean but in need of some renovation looking a little bit tired but would stay again
Good Location Good Breakfast Menu
Bathrooms are a little dated by todays standards, but it was clean.,
The rooms were great and although one of the booked rooms was not cleaned when we arrived , we were immediately moved to a clean on
We went for breakfast and the waitresses were not particularly friendly and cleared away the tables even before we were done
Really good value b&b. Food at Hungry Horse also good value. Staff friendly & helpful
I thought bei close to a resterau t was good, the staff were lovely and helpful
The inn was a fair way from a y social amenities
Room was of a good size. Room clean and tidy on arrival. Good tea and coffee making facilities All staff very pleasant and helpful.
The rooms have showers over the bath which makes things difficult for me as I have osteoarthritis. A room with a walk in shower would be good.
Heat in rooms
Zimmer war sehr geräumig. Frühstück war sehr lecker.

The location is good for me as it’s near my family. There is a Morrisons local across the road.
WiFi shocking meaning the tv hardly works. I asked for a variety of soft drinks at the bar, non in stock. Hand soap in bathroom was just water, plug hole in bath black. No one ever on reception to check in, waited 20 minutes this time even after locating a member of staff at the bar. Fire alarm went off twice waking us up and no direction from staff what we should do. I have been coming to the Leagate for years and it used to be a great, affordable hotel. Not any more.
Friendly staff. Couldn’t do enough. The receptionist was so lovely. Nice food at the restaurant attached
Bed was hard. Pillows too hard. Room far too hot- no ventilation. Staff forgot to give clean cups/ towels. Bit noisy from the pub.
The staff were very helpful and friendly
Nothing
Nothing was too much trouble we ate in the pub service was fantastic food was served hot and not warm staff could not do enough. The rooms was clean bed comfy. Would stay again when in area.
Clean and functional.

The hotel was good
The breakfast menu 3 menus Full English £9,Continental £6-99 ,Small £4-99 We picked scrambled eggs off the small menus (not big eaters first thing in the morning)The waitress took our order ,then brought our bill £18 they had charged us for what should have been £9-98 according to the menu, I complained and she said we could have used the breakfast bar i said thats not what the menu says She went away and saw her manager and came back with another bill for £13-99 which is still more than what the menu says Eventually i paid that a mount because a was sick of trying to explain to her The way their menu is printed out is not clear and should be looked at I am a very annoyed customer It spoilt the stay
convenient to visit family good road connections bed was clean ..kettle staff all very helpful
very dated rooms looks bit unkempt outside..trees shrubs need cut especially at exit
Location was good for us visiting family. Easy to access.
Very dated & smells like an old people’s home. Room was quite warm even with window wide open. Shower was rubbish too. Needs modernising.
Good
Good
Convenient for our needs ( going to AIG golf by bus) Reasonable Cost Friendly Staff
Food in restaurant tended to be overcooked As a Greene King pub we were disappointed that there was NO real ale at all
It was in an ideal location for what we were doing for the weekend, staff were friendly.
The fire alarm went off at 2:37 early Monday morning. When I asked about it in the morning I was told it was a known fault by a member of staff. However, another member of our party had also asked a member of staff and they said it was because someone was smoking, so I don't know what to believe. Breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive and if I hadn't already paid for it I would've cancelled it and left, we didn't even bother going down on the Tuesday morning
Was clean and felt warm and welcomed

Great Location, Close to amenities, easy to get to and from
Felt very dated, shower curtain rail slightly broken, light above mirror in bathroom didn’t work, water pressure in shower was very bad so was awkward to shower. Feels like greene king haven’t spent any money on it for a long time.
It was close to our destination and the pub/restaurant was next door.
It is a very tired hotel needing refurbishment. Decor is looking jaded (looks like an old Premier Inn) and bathroom was scruffy with little or no accessories.
Bed was comfy. Had a good sleep.
Staff. Arrived exhausted after working a full day and driving 4 plus hours to hotel. Got to reception and no one there. Called number and it was a bot who called front desk. Useless. Second option to go the pub next door and talk to manager. Husband offer to go get someone and went over. lady said she be right over. We stood at the reception desk watching her on CTV talking to 2 other staff members between 10-15 mins. Obviously could care less we were waiting to be checked in. I then took it upon myself to go to the pub ans demand to be checked in.. 2 of the staff came.right away.. unreal. Room.was a sauna. No a/c or fan, slid getting in shower however there is a very small sign by the tub if I want a bathmat I need to call reception.. won't do that after slipping and naked in the shower. Shower had no pressure whatsoever. Useless. Will not return..
Good value and a reasonable location for our purpose.
Basic
Room & Bed clean, quiet & comfortable Breakfast was good & very good value
On site restaurant stopped serving at 9pm so had to go out and eat elsewhere
Close to the family we came to visit.
No A/C and fan provided wasn’t that good.
Friendly staff
Shower needed attention
Friendly staff great location and great price as we went to the golf open
Location Comfort of the bed Value for money
The bathroom looked tired and could do with updating, a better more powerful shower.
Cleaning staff were very good and kept bedroom very clean given how tired they are
Main areas dirty and very tired. Door from Reception was filthy.. Toilets is Restaurant disgusting Poor choice at breakfast 9.30 no yoghurt no pastries scrambled eggs awful
Room was clean though missing a full length mirror
Waiting time to book in as no one at reception. Lack of towels considering it was a family room there were two large and two small towel for everyone and when I went to reception know one there to get more towels. Fire alarm went off when I was in the bath so I rushed to get dressed and it went off. It then went off about 2am again leaving me wide awake for two hours.
The cooked breakfast I requested was excellent and arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. The buffet had plenty of choices and everything was replenished before having to ask the staff, who were very attentive to everyone's needs. The location especially for myself was only 5 minutes drive away from where I needed to be on the day. The price including breakfast was very reasonable compared to other hotels within the locality.
Having travelled around the world and and stayed in hotels up and down the length of the U.K. I have to be brutally honest, the hotel part of the complex is tired and is in dire need of a facelift both outside and inside and i can only speak about my room and not others. The room itself was large with a queen size bed and a large T.V with good reception and the bathroom again was a good size with a shower over the bath and enough shelving to place your toiletries. However, The carpet in the bedroom was threadbare and had a 12 inch rip at the side of the bed, the walls needed a good lick of paint. The wi-fi was pretty good in the room on the first night and i was able to access the internet quite quickly. However, the second night (Friday) the hotel complex was pretty full and access to the internet in the evening was nigh on impossible. The shower in the bathroom had no pressure and the water just dribbled out of the shower head The sink taps were loose thus making it difficult to turn the water on and then off The toilet handle again was loose making it difficult to flush. I did not expect to undertake any in-house maintenance to make things work. On the plus side, the staff were extremely helpful, very friendly, which i would always expect being a fellow Lancastrian and again the location suited my needs and would I return, well Yes, the place just needs some TLC and to be honest i have stayed in hotels far superior, albeit i have stayed in worse.
Nice location
Nothing
Good price
Areas going into the hotel & room had a strange smell
Very clean and helpfull staff
Nothing
Location good Breakfast was good Bed comfortable Staff very accommodating
The accommodation looked tired around the hallway and room. Lights were poor, low lighting. Bulb out in bathroom above sink. Shower. Water pressure very low The room was hot with little ventilation
.
Broken shower with extremely burning hot water but nobody to repair it, extremely hot room without airconditioning, extremely bad and rude customer service overall
It’s a remote ”hotel” that you can only access with car but if you have that you have a gas station open from 6am to 22pm across the street.
It’s noisy spot as the big road is just next to it and as the rooms are extremely hot without airconditioning you have to open the small window during nights but then can hear the constant traffic so earplugs come handy. Our shower didn’t work so it only gave extremely hot water which made it impossible to shower although we mentioned this to the staff nobody ever did anything for the case. The staff at the restaurant were rude and unprofessional but dont want to go into the details.
Clean & practical
No air-conditioning
Fairly priced, comfortable room. A good value breakfast with plenty choice. Ample parking, convenient for motorway. Friendly, helpful staff.
A little tired. Perhaps biscuits with tea & coffee on the room.
The staff who were very helpful and friendly especially the lady on hotel reception.
The accommodation. Very very tired and needs money spending on it. The room smelt musty as if its not used on a regular basis. We had no toilet paper Nor shower curtain in our room.
Good location , food quality in the restaurant was good value for the money
One slight complaint there was no air con in the room
Emplacement

The shower was a little weak in pressure That's all other wise excellent
We Love the Location. Staff. People so friendly. Foid Very Good as well.
Didn't like the Step from the outside into the Bar. Several times i either trip up on it or missed it coming out. I think you need a Warning Strip accross it. Iv'e not long had a back operation so needed to be safe.
Good breakfast
Poor staff Rooms basic Badly signposted for reception
Value for money, free parking & vlise to the motorway
Very dated rooms & the shower wasn't great
Very clean , great bed linen. Good TV
Breakfast was nice and hot.The whole experience exceeded all our expectations thanks to all the staff.Would reccomend a stay.
