When we got to the apartment the room was locked with no key, they forgot to clean the room and we had to wait first for a member of the staff and then for him to clean the room. And if this wasn’t enough during the night two people tried to enter the room, they were looking for the bathroom. And you might ask yourself why didn’t you lock the door? Well this task would’ve been easy if we had a key which we didn’t have because they didn’t give us a key

We were staying in a twin room under a staircase. It was horribly loud and people from the dorm upstairs use it to go to the bathroom. Fortunately we were replaced to another building :)

One bathroom for 10 people is not much and it is a noisy building

The location is convenient and the staff is friendly. They washed, dried, and folded our laundry in no time for 200 NOK.

The place is fairly comfortable but quite dirty. I understand it's a self-service hostel, but the bathroom wasn't very clean either. The room was very dusty upon arrival. The furniture, kitchen, doors, and stairs are very old (I appreciate that they are original, but they are extremely noisy; on the lower floor, you can hear every single footstep). The beds were comfy, but the pillows were not.

- every little sound can be hear from everywhere (walking on the floor and stairs produced squeak, starting the water in the kitchen/bathroom and so on) - super little space for accomodating 10 people - twin bedroom door was squeking loud - the cleanliness in the shower area could be much improved - cobwebs in the corners of the twin room

Just one bathroom with toilet and shower for everyone is annoying if you want to go to the loo while someone is taking a shower. Several kitchen pots and pans need replacing.

It was a good thing that the people staying in 156 were able to spend time with us in 158 to cook, eat, shower, and play games. They only used the room in 156 for sleeping.

Be very careful when making a reservation here, as there are two different buildings where you may be staying: 156 and 158. The conditions in building 156 are terrible. The furniture is extremely old, the room smells awful, and, on top of that, it is not clean. Building 158 is slightly better, but I still wouldn’t recommend either option. It is somewhat cleaner than 156, but the overall conditions are still far from satisfactory. The bed in 158 is particularly uncomfortable, it feels more like a poorly designed couch that you sink into rather than an actual bed. The biggest issue is that you don’t know which building or what kind of conditions you’ll get until you arrive. We had two rooms: a double room in 158 and a twin room in 156, and unfortunately, neither was a good experience.

Bon emplacement, qui permet d'aller à plusieurs randonnées.

Nous étions dans la chambre sous l'escalier qui donne à la cuisine et au dortoir, une ressemble avec la chambre d'Harry Potter. Donc très bruyant, avec les allers et venus des voyageurs, l'escalier qui grince. Il faut impérativement des bouchons d'oreille sinon très difficile de dormir paisiblement. Pratiquement aucuns rangements pour les affaires, sauf un tout petit meuble sous l'escalier. La salle de bain et la cuisine n'étaitent pas très propres. Le ménage des partis communes laisse à désirer.

C'est très très bruyant, plutôt sale. Une salle de bain et wc ( dans la même pièce) pour 10 personnes. Chambre minuscule sous les escaliers, un enfer. Une minuscule salle avec une table qui accueille 3 personnes maximum. La cuisine en mauvais état, la vaisselle fait peur... A fuir. N'y allez surtout pas !8

Easy to find, we had an apartment to ourselves as we booked two rooms as a family of four. Nice view from the balcony, easy to park opposite the apartment. Feels big and spacious.

Not enough cutlery and kitchen stuff. Not the most comfortable and very small beds wish a mattress topper on that was sliding off. You can hear the people next door as the walls seem to be paper thin, but it wasn't a massive issue for us as we were out most of the day.

We were a family of four and I booked two rooms, so we got the whole apartment to ourselves. Kitchen equipment was ok. Very quiet surroundings, but you can hear the people next door.

Not much cutlery in the kitchen, beds were tiny, so if you are bigger than normal you'll find it small.

Le logement n'est pas propre, la vaisselle est sale, de la moisissure se trouve dans le frigo etc. Un seul toilette et douche.

El mensaje ambiguo de donde te hospedas. Se podía entender también que te tocaba en una habitación mejor y luego tuve que mudarme y suspender mi actividad del día pues me lo comunicaron al mediodía.

Tout était parfait, le salon et la cuisine à disposition très bien aménagés, jolies meubles. Une petite chambre, mais possibilité de rangement. Nous avions une chambre à l'étage avec une très belle vue sur un canal avec de grandes baies vitrées.

Il y a peu d’espace dans la maison, la cuisine est petite et à l’ancienne, très basique Il n’y a qu’une seule salle de bain dans laquelle se trouvent les seules toilettes du logement : pas pratique si tous les lits sont occupés (cela peut aller jusqu’à 10 personnes il me semble) L’emplacement n’est pas super car il n’y a pas de pont pour accéder au centre de Ballstad dans lequel se trouve la seule supérette du coin : si comme moi vous êtes à pied, il faudra faire l’aller retour à pied (≈ 40 minutes de trajet)

Free parking, but no signs indicating where to park, so you just leave your car where you want. If you are not picky about how you sleep and live, this is a good place.

The whole house smells bad, maybe because it is an old house and/or because of the dampness. They mentioned in the booking that it is a shared bathroom and toilet, but not that you share it with 10 people. The kitchen and everything in it was more or less dirty; we washed everything before we used it. Same with the bathroom; we took off our glasses before entering the second time. The shared space where you can eat is really small. The key to the main door was not in the box like it should have been. The quiet time was not respected; this of course depends on the people you happen to live with. Our twin room was okay, with almost clean sheets. If you're not picky about how you live for a night or two, this is a good place to stay.

Suhteellisen hyvällä sijainnilla Ballstadissa. Henkilökunta vastasi whatsappissa hyvin nopeasti. Vaikka paikka oli täynnä, niin siellä oli siistiä ja rento ilmapiiri.

Paikka oli sinänsä aika pieni ja hieman ahdas, mutta toisaalta siellä yöpyy max 10 henkilöä, joten siihen nähden tilaa oli tarpeeksi. Yksi vessa jossa suihku, saattaa aiheuttaa ruuhkaa/jonoa. Portaat aika äänekkäät.

Die schlechteste Unterkunft die wir je hatten. Es war teilweise schimmelig, draußen war eine Stromverteiler offen, es lag Müll herum. Die Terrasse war nicht nutzbar.Im Badezimmer gab es eine Klemmleuchte die am Schrank befestigt war. Ein Zimmer hatte keine Tür . Der Vorhang kam in der Nacht herrunter, ich könnte noch weiter machen, das ist wirklich nicht zumutbar.

Gute Kommunikation im Vorfeld, es gab Gewürze und Öl in der Küche zur freien Verfügung. Bei gutem Wetter konnten wir auf dem Balkon frühstücken.

Der Schlafsaal ist zum Rest des Hauses nur durch einen Vorhang abgetrennt (wussten wir aber bereits aus den vorherigen Bewertungen). Ein Badezimmer für insgesamt 12 Personen (bei Vollbelegung) kann zu etwas Wartezeit führen.

There was an unpleasant smell in the bedroom (that smelt like urine). We notified the staff who came to help clean the floors and remove the smell, and while it was a bit better it was still persisting. Otherwise the stay was fine.

For its money, Ballstad hostel is a great option. The dorm room was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was fully equipped and well maintained. The hostel operates fully on self-service which is quite convenient too. There is a nice hike nearby.

The ventilation in the shower wasn't the best but unless lots of people use it one after another it does its job. There definitely should be at least one more bathroom. There were only 3 people (including me) in the dorm room and 2 people in a separate room during my stay and shower was always taken by someone! Also, don't expect any sun there after afternoon. The mountain behind the hostel creates a big shadow over it for most of the day and night.

Camera di circa 9 mq, molto più piccola della descrizione. Solo un asciugamano da bagno per persona, nessun asciugamano da viso, inoltre non c'è lo shampoo. Le scale scricchiolano e al piano terra si sentono i passi del piano superiore. La chiave della camera è super semplice e non sicura.

Krásná a klidná lokalita, blízko zastávky busu. V domě se i v lete topilo. Pro nenáročné zcela dostačující.

V jednom ze 2 dvoulůžkových pokojů bylo málo místa, chyběly věšáky na sušení promoklého oblečení. Byl tam jen 1 hřebík. Pokoj byl přímo pod schody (trochu jako pokoj Harryho Pottera), někoho by mohl pohyb po schodech rušit. Druhý pokoj vypadal v pořádku. Celý dům je mírně nakřivo, ale to už bych brala jako součást koloritu.

Our room was directly under the stairs and it was very loud whenever anyone walked up or down.

In general everything was good

An OK hostel 3km from the village of Ballstad, not so convenient for the supermarket but very close to the start of the footpath to hike up Skottinden. No inside space to store a bicycle. The twin rooms are rather small, OK for sleeping but there's nowhere to put rucksacks or panniers. There was a wardrobe but the room is so small that it's difficult to get into this and it takes up all the space where you could otherwise put a rucksack - it would be better to remove the wardrobes and put lots of hooks on the walls as there is nowhere to hang wet gear (apart from inside the wardrobe!). The dorm actually looked more spacious. There was only one bathroom, one small kitchen and one small dining table between potentially 10 people (fortunately there were only 5 people staying in our annex at the time) - it would be rather crowded if full. There were only two pans in the kitchen and only two large plates - not particularly well equipped. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was good and the wi-fi worked.

Very good value for money, great location, friendly staff, great parking available.

We got the twin room and upon arrival we saw that the room is right under the stairs, which is very frequently used and thus noisy (even in the evenings and mornings). Kitchen and bathroom could use some cleaning (we did see that staff cleaned fairly often, so maybe that’s more on the people currently staying there). This might just be personal opinion, but one bathroom is hardly enough for 10 people and can create uncomfortable situations.

Lovely double bed room with a shared living space and bathroom. A very nice kitchen to use. By the water with harbour view, calm and restful. Everything clean and well maintained.

I drove here from Shanghai, China. The room had a view of the fjord from the window, it was very quiet, and the parking lot was large.

The bathroom, shower area and bed linens were clean and comfortable, and the entrance area was well maintained. The price was good. The parking area was outside right beside the rooms.

Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. The staircase to the kitchen passed directly through our room, which caused constant noise whenever people went up and down. The small table in the room was unusable due to mold. The refrigerator was dirty, with food splatters inside, and the oven had old melted cheese stuck to it. The main entrance door was always left wide open, regardless of the time of day or night. In addition, the key and lock for the room were very difficult to use and made a loud noise every time the door was opened, enough to wake up people sleeping in the room.

Die Lage war gut.

Leider nur 1 WC welches sehr lange durch andere Gäste besetzt wurde und nicht sehr sauber war. Der Geruch im Haus war nicht so schön, bedingt sich durch die vielen Nutzer des Hostels. Die Betten waren leider auch sehr schmal.

ダブルベッドルーム用の個室は、ドミトリー・シングルベッド2台の個室と違う施設で入室方法も異なります。 ホストの手違いで幸運にも後者に立ち入ることができました。こちらの施設を利用する際は多少高価でも絶対にダブルベッドルームを予約することをお勧めします。 ダブルベッドルームの施設は新しく、室内はとても清潔で綺麗でした。共用ルーム、個人のベッドルームともに大変快適でした。キッチンには調味料やコーヒー/紅茶も用意されていました。

ドミトリー・シングルベッド用個室の施設はキッチン管理に問題がありました。ゴミ箱には数日分の生ごみが溢れかえっており、生臭い匂いがしました。冷蔵庫の中にはいつものものか分からない使いかけのフルーツや調味料が散乱しており、管理されていない様子でした。また、バスルームはドミトリー宿泊者と共有で一つしかありません。 ダブルベッドルームは全て問題ありません。どこのドミトリーにも言えますが、もう一組のグループが夜遅くまで騒いでおり騒音がかなり響き、ドミトリーに宿泊している家族をこちらの部屋に呼んで食事をしていました。施設を共有する宿泊者のプライバシーのために、注意喚起をするべきです。 立地はすこし不便ですが、コストパフォーマンスの良い施設だと思います。

Körde förbi eftersom det är dåligt skyltat. Tyvärr inte städat på golvet i rummet. Ingen plats att hänga eller lägga kläderna i rummet. Hämtade till slut en stol från köket. Stolarna var nedsuttna. Gardinstången trasig i sovrummet. Ingen omsorg om stället, tyvärr.

Lage ist gut. Parkplätze genug vorhanden. WLAN war gut. Gewürze/Öle in der Küche waren einige vorhanden. Sehr nettes Personal. (Habe mich bei der Hausnummer vertan, mir wurde sofort alles freundlich erklärt). Bei nochmaliger Buchung würde ich die Doppelbettzimmer nehmen, da es dort gemütlicher ist.

Zimmer sind sehr klein (bei größeren Gepäckstücken wäre es ein Problem). Keinen vorhandener Gemeinschafstraum. Es gibt nur einen runden Tisch neben der Küche ist aber alles sehr eng. Sehr wenig Geschirr, wenn alle Betten besetzt wären ist es einfach zu wenig. (Nur 1 Topf, 1 Pfanne, 1 kleinen Topf, 2 Müslischüsseln). Bei den Betten war eine zusätzliche dünne Matratze drauf, die leider immer verrutschte beim schlafen.
