Tioman Cabana Bed & Breakfast

Right at the beach. And next door a lovely dive shop with very professional staff. Also a fantastic restaurant upstairs. Had the best few days in TIOMAN. And the most gorgeous sunsets. And definitely will come back. I was lucky to stay one night in a private room right at the beach. The dorm is not that comfortable. Lots of cats you can cuddle with.

The dorm can use a make over and a deep clean. A new building is in the making so that is great news.

Vlak aan het strand, fijn restaurant bij accommodatie met heerlijk eten. Eigen kluisje voor je waardevolle spullen.

Bed kraakte en matras was heel dun, en met kuil. Gordijnen om het bed hingen er half af. Je kreeg geen sleutel van de dorm want ze deden de deur daar nooit op slot werd gezegd. Douche had geen waterdruk en water werd niet warm.

Super petit-dej, la terrasse/restaurant avec une vue magnifique sur la mer est très agréable :) Tu y manges bien aussi ! Personnel très sympa, dortoir avec climatisation confortable avec des rideaux pour l’intimité … Je recommande :)

Le personnel est tres accueillant et bienveillant. Ils vous donneront toutes les informations nécessaires à votre séjour sur l'île. Merci pour ce beau séjour. On reviendra

Ottima posizione per vicinanza a traghetto e taxi boat per escursioni

Il personale é poco accogliente e a tratti maleducato. La prima mattina ho aspettato 40 minuti una omelette, altri 20 minuti un ice tea e quando chiedevo quanto mancasse, il cuoco infastidito mi diceva di andarmi a sedere. La seconda mattina avevamo la barca alle 9:15 per un’escursione, la colazione programmata per le 8:30, come da indicazioni della struttura, ma dopo aver aspettato 15 minuti siamo andati via perché non arrivava nessuno. Il 3 giorno ho chiesto a colazione altra marmellata e il cuoco non me l’ha concessa con la scusa che avrei dovuto mangiare quella che rimaneva lì e basta. La location é buona, la cena ottima, ma accoglienza e colazione sono da rivedere.

Very friendly Staff and good Location and i liked the free breakfast. Good Air-condition I cannot really mention any more positive things because I spend most of my time somewhere else.

There's a few things for improvement. Firstly it would be good to provide more trashcans around the property as well as astrays. The cleanliness of the Dorm is horrible. It needs a deep clean asap. There's like food packingings behind and underneath the beds. Also there are new mattresses stored in the dorm?! So why not using them! The beds are super uncomfortable.. The shower has no waterpressure even if you turn on the pump. It would also be class to provide more places to sit at the beach as it seems to exist on the picture here on booking.com but in fact there's nothing. Make sure you wear insect repellent at the beach as there are many sand flies With a little Love this place would have deserved a 10 of 10.

Le cadre est juste incroyable, sur la plage, possibilité de faire du Snorkelling, restau sur place et très bon. Concert et bonne ambiance. Petit déjeuné un peu léger.

La chambre n’est pas nettoyé, les matelas sont pas très confortable, les rideaux sont à changer. Les casiers pour les affaires c’est une chance sur deux de pouvoir en avoir avec un clé. La douche est froide et n’a pas de débit c’est un filet d'eau. Pour le prix ce n’est pas donné pour le dortoir. Le dortoir est donc à refaire.

Lots to like at Tioman Cabana. Arguably one of the best beaches on the West side of the island, clean, clear waters, and opportunity for snorkelling. Hostel room met expectations was clean, consider you have direct beach access. Staff and restaurant are lovely, makes you very comfortable to ask questions and to relax.

Areas of improvement might be water pressure in the hostel dorm, although you are on an island so that may not be realistic. Better storage and security of the hostel dorm, no locks on current doors but that wasn't an issue during my stay.

pac, the owner, is lovely, friendly and the best host we’ve met in our malaysian journey. we felt so welcome and the location was perfect for us. the dorm is simple but enough for the nights.

L'emplacement est superbe et calme. Notre chambre pour trois donnait directement sur la plage, confortable et spacieuse. L'ensemble de l'équipe est très sympa. Le restaurant est bon avec du choix. Nous avons fait une sortie snorkeling d'une journée, les fonds sont riches. La plage de l'hôtel est aussi belle, il y a de nombreux coraux et de beaux poissons à qq dizaines de mètres du bord. Nous avons testé le paddle prêté par l'hôtel avec l'aide d'un employé. Nous recommandons fortement cet hôtel.

It was by the beach!

It was dirty, the toilets worked fine but the hot water was occasionally not working the lock to the toilet wouldn't work. The blanket given was short and wasn't quite a blanket, rather, a cloth.

Le linge de lit, pas de draps , il sentait mauvais, les coussins tres tees sale, jai du les couvrir de mes tshirt pour pouvoir dormir dessus, pour se couvrir une bete couverture qui ne couvrait qu'une seule personne, le debit d eau tres tres faibles, les essuie egalement tres mauvaises odeur comme deja utilisé, et on entend tres fort les voisin, juste un panneau en bois de séparation heureusement que l'extérieur fait oublier les aléas de la chambre.

I really enjoyed the island itself and the location of Tioman Cabana. It’s right on the beach and the restaurant staff were always super friendly.

Unfortunately, my stay was overshadowed by inappropriate behavior from one staff member (Sham). As a 22-year-old solo female traveler, I felt very uncomfortable with his sexual remarks, especially since he was much older (40+). This made me feel unsafe and pressured, and after reading other reviews I realized I am not alone. There have been multiple complaints about his inappropriate behavior. I really hope management takes action. The dorm was okay but the mattresses were worn out.

Restaurant sur place avec prix très correcte et bonne restauration. Thé et Café au bar toute la journée à disposition. Mise à disposition de masque et tuba sur place.

Bon à savoir: si personne à mobilité réduite l'acces au restaurant et aux chambres trés compliqués

海が目の前の絶好のロケーション。波の音を聞きながらのんびり寛げる最高の場所。船着き場からも徒歩圏内。

部屋のベッドのファブリックがちょっと清潔感に欠ける。水着やタオル等を室内に干せる工夫があると良かった。シャワーやトイレ等水回りの老朽化が気になった。シャンプーが無かったのが残念。夜に勝手にテラスに登ってくる人の気配が気になった。階段にプライベートエリア等の表示が必要かも。

Die Sanitäranlagen waren grenzwertig (kaum Wasser beim Duschen), das Zimmer sehr staubig und die Decke klein. Das Personal war zwar korrekt, aber weder gastfreundlich noch engagiert – es wirkte, als wäre ihnen alles egal. Beim Restaurant mit sehr langen Wartezeiten und schlechtem Service.

Lo mejor de este hotel es el centro de buceo. Hemos hecho 4 inmersiones increibles. Personal de 10, sobre todo Safar y Man.

Mr. Pek is great—so kind and friendly. The view from the café is spectacular. The hostel’s location right on the beach is fabulous.

As others have noted, the dorm is badly run down. Rusty, dirty bed frames; worn out mattresses and pillows; mildewy bed curtains; no individual bed lights and only a handful of power outlets for the whole dorm (10 beds), most of them far away from the beds themselves. Also no security: anyone can walk into the dorm off the beach or off the road, and many of the lockers were missing keys or functioning locks. Too bad—this could be a 10-star backpacker place otherwise!

Dépaysement total…. Notre chambre en front de mer était paradisiaque. L’équipe est aux petits soins!! On se sent privilégiés même si c’est pour le commerce. Le prêt de masques, paddle,…. C’est le top!!!! Et franchement le côté resto est de loin le plus varié et il y a en pour tous les goûts : moi je ne mange qu’Européen et mon mari s’adapte à la nourriture locale : Donc bon compromis!!!

So… I have quite mixed feelings about this place. Let’s start with the positive: - It is very well located, right on a gorgeous beach and just a few minutes walk from Tekek jetty. - The staff is super nice and friendly, the vibe is great - The lounge/common area is very chill and comfortable - The restaurant is really nice, with tasty and generous meals

Now with the negative: - The dorm is absolutely awful. It is dirty (we had spiders and huge cockroaches, toilets leaking, bad smells…)and needs to be renovated asap! - The beds (in the dorm) are not comfortable at all. I slept poorly the nights I was there - there is very little water pressure in the dorm bathroom, to the point where you can barely shower. Several of us ended up showering outside with the hose which was much nicer and efficient. - it’s very hard to get in contact with them. I tried calling several times the day I was supposed to arrive, no one answered the phone. When you send a message on Booking, they take 2 days to answer. And when we arrived and wanted to check in, we had to wait because there was no one at the reception (mind you there are only one or two ferries per day, the schedule is available, so everyone arrives at the same time for check in and it’s a predictable time, yet no one was available and we had to wait)

L'emplacement est idéal, dans le petit village de Tekek et proche du Jetty sans pour autant se faire sentir. L'hôtel donne directement sur la plage et leur restaurant est parfait pour le coucher de soleil notamment. La nourriture est très bonne et très bon marché ! L'équipe est très sympa, prête à aider pour quoi que ce soit ainsi que très compréhensive et flexible. Je recommande chaleureusement l'endroit !

Great location right on the beach. Mixed dorm ensuite with hot shower. Amazing free breakfast, tea, coffee, orange and water all day. Food in the restaurant is good price and so tasty, thanks to Rasyid and happy helpful staff. Sunset side of the island 10 min walk from Tekek ferry terminal with shops and restaurants in the village. Lots of diving and snorkelling on beach with good coral, free use of paddle boards and snorkelling equipment. I extended another week loved it here.

Los trabajadores eran muy amables y te hacian sentir como una persona y no como una billetera caminantr (cosa que sucede mucho en sea) La ubicación era espectacular con una playa hermosa y super poco visitada al frente del alojamiento. El desayuno era llenador y rico, ademas me parece muy bien el poder tomar agua, te, cafe y cereales con leche gratis. También se pueden utilizar las tablas de padel y los kits de snorkelling gratis lo que me parece genial!

La habitación era una mierda, necesita ser mejorada con urgencia. Las cortinas de las camas se caen a pedazos. Las camas no tienen enchufes ni luces. El baño (piso/ducha/wc) necesitan limpieza. La manta para abrigarse en la cama era muy pequeña tanto que una parte de tu cuerpo quedaba destapada.

Tioman Cabana est vraiment l’endroit parfait pour profiter pleinement de Tioman. L’hostel donne sur une super plage préservée qui n’est pourtant qu’à un quart d’heure à pied du jetty. Le personnel est très à l’écoute et extrêmement accueillant. Vous vous sentirez très vite chez vous et n’aurai plus envie de repartir ! Mention spéciale pour le club de plongée, les instructeurs sont très sympathiques tout en faisant preuve d’un grand professionnalisme !

Le personnel et l'emplacement sont top, on est en bord de mer. Les équipements sont super et gratuits: masque et tuba en libre service ainsi que les planches et les rames de Padel. Il est possible de faire de la plongée en découverte ou faire les leçons pour avoir la licence. Le resto aussi est génial, le menu est assez diversifié et les produits sont frais.

La chambre est très poussiéreuse: sur les lits en hauteur on voit pendouiller des amas de poussière. J'ai passé 3 nuits sur place: la dernière je pouvais plus respirer tellement il y avait de poussière. Les infrastructures de lit sont vieilles. La clim était toujours à fond: j'ai dû dormir avec un sweet car on nous fournit qu'une petite couverture.

Location incantevole in un tratto di spiaggia bellissima. Tutto lo staff è disponibile e gentilissimo per ogni necessità. La camera è basica con servizi basici ma la posizione sulla spiaggia la rende davvero eccezionale per noi il vero lusso. Qui non ci sono fronzoli, si gode del tempo e della natura perciò non fa per voi se siete alla ricerca del resort impeccabile. Il bistró e la scelta di ottimi piatti completa il tutto..e cosa non da poco i ragazzi sono attenti all ambiente e a mantenere l isola così pulita e preservata. Un paradiso! Mi auguro di poter tornare presto ❤️

Con piccoli accorgimenti il comfort in camera aumenterebbe. Ad esempio il materasso ma comunque nulla di veramente importante

Personnel au top, chambre à 20m de la plage, avec un super resto à côté, des activités nautiques (ils prêtent gratuitement du matériel) et un bon petit déjeuner, tout ça dans un cadre paradisiaque. Petit plus : ils ont une politique zéro plastique. La plage est donc d'une propreté irréprochable :)

Rien de bien méchant, mais un drap un peu plus grand aurait été appréciable pour le lit de 2 personnes (on se retrouve vite les pieds à l'air).

El alojamiento está bien situado y sus instalaciones ( no dormitorios) son muy buenas. El desayuno va variando y está muy bueno. Puedes utilizar gafas de bucear, tablas de paddle surf sin ningún coste.

La habitación compartida necesita una mejora. Los colchones son finos, hay poca luz, las cortinas de las camas están rotas y hay mosquitos. La verdad que si arreglaran el dorm ganaría mucho! Pero en general se puede dormir.

Estuvimos super agusto desde el primer momento en que llegamos. Nuestra habitación encima de la escuela de buceo tenía unas vistas increíbles . El lugar es fantástico, pero aun más todos los que trabajan allí...✨.Un saludo especial de Cesar y Neus

Bed and breakfast. Bed muy incomoda y breakfast muy justo. No saben gestionar el tema de alojamiento. Escalera con mucho hueco donde se puede caer cualquier niño, planchas del tejado afiladas que se puede cortar alguien. Ni un cenicero en todo el alojamiento, usando las macetas de las plantas para ellos. Cama muy incomoda, hay una cosa que se llama rotar el colchón, si lo mueves de forma cada 3 meses no se deforma tanto, deberían cambiarlos, almohadas nada cómodas. La limpieza, si se puede llamar así, nada, en cuatro noches no fueron capaces ni de recoger basura, ni preocuparse si requeríamos papel, toallas,. Me he quedado en hoteles más baratos y que dan más atención al cliente que se aloja. Desayuno pobre, 1 huevo, 1 mini pankake, 1 tostada partida a la mitad y 2 pedacitos de fruta pinchando en un palo. Podrían preguntar por lo menos que le apetece, hay gente que no desayuna huevo o pan , se le podría poner un plato de fruta o a la inversa, tenías leche y cereales. La leche si está fría y la dejas todo el día fuera con el calor se hecha a perder, se llama cadena de frío, puede hacer daño al estómago

Such a lovely place with a really nice vibe—full of people who genuinely care about the island and the environment. Don’t expect a 5-star hotel, but rather a relaxed, comfortable room and some truly wonderful staff who will look after you. It’s one of the most unspoilt places in the world—let’s keep it that way! Also, this is one of the best teams on the island to learn scuba diving with. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Thank you!

The only minor issue was with the taps in the bathroom and some plumbing, which could do with a bit of improvement. That said, the team let us know they’re still recovering from a recent fire, so it's completely understandable and they're clearly working hard to get everything back on track as they are a small business.

Near by to beach and convenience to any local restaurant. But service not Good as everything need to enquiry at upper floor which is not convenience and not using Whatsapp for any sort of communication.

Lamp very dim at one side, toiletary not given for basic use example body wash or shampoo. Only a small soap was given which is not enough for a room of 5 person. In the room air Cond not cold during afternoon till evening. Top bunker mattress sheet have sand particle.

Très bon emplacement, sur la plage. La terrasse est vraiment agréable, et le petit déjeuner est compris. C'est convivial et facile de rencontrer d'autres voyageurs.

Il faisait beaucoup trop froid dans le dortoir, impossible de régler la climatisation. Grand dortoir un peu vieillot et une seule salle de bain.

The staff was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Everyday they checked on our well-being and initiated conversations with us.

The toilet wasn't clean. The spring of the bed was uneven causing the mattress to slant. The food could be better.

Room is basic but very clean. Perfect location at the beachfront with a house reef that is (albeit a little damaged at the shallower parts) teeming with life if one snorkels further out. Snorkelling masks, life vests, and SUP boards available to use for free. Staff were warm and welcoming, and we had a snorkelling boat trip as well as a discovery dive arranged easily - we spotted turtles and juvenile reef sharks that day! Equipments are in tip top condition. The bistro had the prettiest view and is great for lounging. Not to forget the complimentary breakfast too, which was convenient for us. 😊

Bear in mind the steep stairway to reach the bistro up top - good for young adventurers but may be unsuitable for some. Accessing the top bunk in our room proved a challenge too, as there was less than a metre clearance from the ceiling. And the room was dark. Perhaps it would also benefit travellers if soap were provided. But with all that said, we had a great time and will recommend this place to other travellers!

Blackmail to get a good review and bad feeling with the managers... the materess was really not confortable, the blanket size was just enough for my legs and the pillow are really dirty and old, bad for 19 euros by night.

The dorm is really bad. No plug in the bed, no lights, broken curtains, very bad maitress, shower is constantly leaking which is annoying when you want to sleep. It’s also not clean. I stayed for 4 nights and didn’t see any staff in the room, the bathroom was packed with sand. Also all the staff was amazing except for one guy that was being a bit pushy with girls.

The restaurant and the connection with the beach

Le staff est vraiment cool. Tout le monde est adorable. Des masques et tuba sont à disposition. L’emplacement est parfait sur ce côté de l’île. La chambre est ok.

I was honestly very skeptical about booking here because of the negative reviews from some female solo travellers. I booked here because the location is convenient: close to the ferry and several restaurants and markets. As soon as I arrived I was warmly welcomed by the staff. After checking in I was shown around and the dormitory. I found everyone to be really friendly and willing to give advice and help. I never felt uncomfortable around anyone. The fact that they laugh and joke may have been misinterpreted by some guests in the past. The sea is wonderful and you can borrow snorkeling gear and SUP boards for free. Tea, coffee and (cold) water are available all day. You can book snorkeling tours and diving lessons here. If you are a cat lover, this place is heaven. As for the dormitory: maybe there is some renovation work to be done. The mattresses and sheets are a bit old and should be replaced. Also the cleanliness of the dormitory and especially the bathroom needs improvement (it is important to clean daily, especially when there are more than 2-3 guests).

The staff were so welcoming and responded to any request. All guests are able to use snorkels and paddle boards and I felt welcomed and looked after from the first day. I extended my stay

Wat heb ik een geweldige tijd gehad hier! Vanaf het eerste moment voelde ik me enorm welkom. Iedereen is zó vriendelijk en gastvrij – echt het gevoel dat er altijd iemand is om je te helpen of gewoon een praatje mee te maken. Het eiland zelf is magisch… de natuur, de sfeer, de rust – alles klopt. Het is een plek waar je echt even helemaal tot jezelf komt. Ik raad het iedereen van harte aan. Dit was voor mij echt een bijzonder verblijf, en ik weet zeker dat ik terugkom. Franco

My stay at Tioman Cabana was nothing shirt of exceptional. My favourite memory of this place will be the warmest and friendliest smiles that greeted me from the moment I arrived to the moment I checked-out. The place is run by the most caring team who are always down for a chat, a friendly joke, or to share their recommendations. They will go out of their way to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable stay. The accomodation is connected with a dive centre run by a team of highly-skilled, knowledgeable, friendly dive masters/ instructors. They are passionate about our ocean and protecting it. I stayed in the Dorms. It is clean and spacious, has AC and free WiFi. The beds are really comfy and has curtains for a bit of privacy. Breakfast is included every morning. There is a restaurant (that serves impecable food) connected to the accommodation and has the best views of the ocean (especially for sunset) and allows for a beautiful spot to socialise with everyone. If you are guest, you have free access to the SUP board too! You are also directly on the beach, and infront of some perfect snorkelling spots! I would recommend Tiiman Cabana over and over again, and I can't wait to go back again!

Miły i pomocny personel. Lokalizacja nad samym morzem. Cudowny widok z tarasu. Bezpłatna kawa. Blisko promu i restauracji.

Skromnie wyposażymy pokój. Brak miejsca na rozłożenie rzeczy i ubrań.

Good and strategic location. Walk around 15min can reach Jetty Tekek. Walk around 5min can find restaurants and convenient store. But the resort never provide any toilet amenities, like shampoo, body wash. Dryer. Overall, it’s a good place to stay.

The staff were fantastic: polite, courteous and full of local knowledge with a constant smile. The menu options were great for vegetarian meals, the view was stunning and the sea at the front was clear. It was affordable and within walking distance to the ferry.

The big step down to the bathroom was a bit scary and the steps to the restaurant were also very steep.

The quiet, serene environment. Sound of waves and feel of soft sand under the feet. Clean and necessary water sprouts provided outside every unit. Aircon is cold despite the hot sun.

The step down into the toilet is about 30cm, not very conducive for older folks.

Chambre très, très bas de game, difficile de faire plus spartiate, pas de savon(meme sur demande, 1ere fois que l on a dû en acheter), très peu d éclairage et pas du tout au lavabo et miroir, pas de drap, petit dejeuner (le plus basic de toute l Asie, et oui, nous l avons trouvé !!!), 1 œuf froid, 1 tranche de pain, 1 très petite crêpe, et 3 très petits morceaux de fruits.... plus mauvais rapport qualité prix rencontré en Asie ... 60€ une honte, ça ne vaut pas plus que 25 ou 30€ et encore, car il y a la vue .... Je ne comprends pas que vous osiez mette cet hôtel ds votre catalogue

The beachfront location was perfect and so handy only being about an 8 minute walk from the jetty. Free breakfast as well as tea, coffee and water was fab. The staff were so friendly and helpful anytime I had a question. It was great being able to use snorkel equipment as part of my stay. I just wish the mattress was slightly more comfortable.

Das Personal und das Essen ist gut und das Highlight ist die Lage des Restaurants, von wo man sehr schön aufs Meer schauen kann. Doch der Dorm war dreckig, die Bett Vorhänge haben nicht richtig gehalten, die Dusche ging nicht richtig und das ganze Bett war so durch gelegen. Das schlimmste ist, dass für sowas 16€ die Nacht verlangt wird. Für ein paar Euro mehr kriegt man schon wo anders ein privates Zimmer.

The property is in a beautiful location. Our room had the best view in the house with a gorgeous view across the ocean. It was an idyllic spot for sunset. The staff are friendly, fun and extremely helpful. The location is perfect with a restaurant at the property but with shops and further restaurants within walking, cycling or driving distance. I felt right at home here and would highly recommend anyone to stay here for a tropical dream holiday filled with relaxation and good vibes. There are options for snorkelling, scuba diving and other water based activities right on your door step. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would go back in a heart beat.

I appreciate that everything at the property is made from recycled or repurposed materials, however, it would be good to have some more comfortable seating for lounging around during the day and in the evenings.

L’ambiance, le cadre, toutes les personnes qui y travaillent, le restau, le petit dej gratuit, les plongées, c’était génial! Si j’avais pu rester plus longtemps, j’y serai encore!

Moi ça ne m’a pas dérangé, mais par rapport aux autres commentaires : le dortoir peut sembler un peu roots mais il est propre, calme et climatisé (c’est l’essentiel!)

Lage ist top, Personal ist sehr freundlich. Man kann sich ein SUP und Schnorchel gratis nehmen. Für Leute, die Tauchen wollen alles dabei und sehr günstig.

Im Dorm waren oben an den Betten Spinnennetze und die Decken waren sehr klein. Durch die AC wird’s Nachts schon kühl und dann friert man eher.

Wonderful people and atmosphere! Can't recommend it enough, and will come back when I have the opportunity. The vibe is just perfect. It's also right next to the beach. There's also a restaurant with good food and a fantastic view to the beach. They also have a dive shop where you can get your diving license or just go diving with an instructor if you don't have one. There's also free snorkeling gear! Last but not least, there are super cute cats fighting for your attention all over the place :) 🐈🏖️

The facilities aren't the greatest. The beds are very hard. The hostel dormitory is clean and spacious and has good AC. But that's about it, it's all very rudimentary and the bare minimum. It looks somewhat depressing; also there are no power outlets in the beds (but shared ones). But overall that's not a big deal and OK for the price.

Great location. We lived right on the beach with gorgeous view of the ocean. Resort is right next to ferry station in the heart of Tekek village with easy access to cafes, stores etc. The beach is fantastic but if you’re looking for snorkelling it would be a wrong place as there are no corals around.

Room is quite tight. Basically it has only a bed and a little rack where you can put some stuff. No fridge, table, wardrobe, tea facilities. We have not realised that when booking so it came a little as unpleasant surprise.
