1511 Coconut Grove

The place is awesome. If you want to experience something different than a standard hotel, go there, you will not regret. With the ocean view, just a few metres from the beach, this is amazing place to stay at. It's clean, with comfortable beds, very helpful owner, and with tasteful breakfasts. I regret we did stay there only 3 nights, definitely not enough.

Internet connection in the cottage was not working but this is what I counted with.

De locatie was fantastisch! Ook erg vriendelijk personeel. Het was super rustig op de stranden.

Het enige wat een beetje minder was dat onze airco af en toe lekte en dat er veel vocht op de muren zat.

Super friendly host, made us feel very welcoming during our stay to the end! Would love to visit again.

Super Strand, tolle Lage mit Bars und Restaurants in der Nähe. Juara Turtle Projekt 2 Minuten in der Nähe. Wir haben um 22.00 Uhr beim freilassen der Schildkröten zuschauen können. Ein einmaliges Erlebnis.

La conexión wifi era bastante mala, pero nada fuera de lo normal en la isla. Las hamacas de la playa necesitan mantenimiento

La localización, la playa de Juara es espectacular, estas en plena naturaleza. El personal es super agradable y la comida esta muy rica. El tour de snorkeling tambien nos encantó.

Si eres europeo el baño con la dicha sin separación te puede resultar algo diferente. Las paredes de la cabaña son finas y se escucha todo al vecino.

The restaurant is great! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The beach bar with a great view and nice breeze also offers some fresh juices and snacks. The staff is super helpful and arranged a great trip for us that was suitable for our 2 year old as well. We enjoyed a lovely massage in our room and spend lots of time on the beach and in the water.

This side of the island reminds us of how many islands in SE Asia used to be. Nature at it’s best, only one small street with simple cabins on each side. A few restaurants offering mostly local food. A beach where sea turtles hatch and a lovely project trying to protect it. It’s just such a shame to see the next door resort (The Barat) feeling completely out of place with loud music and fake grass.

Fantastic location right in the beach with a beautifully kept garden. The dining area was lovely and in keeping with its surroundings. The food was delicious. All the staff were excellent but particularly Amir and Hozey who were warm, friendly and very helpful.

Everything was great, it was easy to find, uncomplicated and very beautiful. The place is very ecofriendly and does not disturb the turtles on the beach.

Bathroom layout, shower head in the middle of a tiny bathroom.

L'accueil de l'ensemble de l'équipe. Un super service client. Organisation d'une sortie jungle avec un super guide. Nous avons pu voir des caméléons. Organisation aussi du départ avec un petit déj take away Le lave linge était en panne et notre hôte s'est démené pour trouver une solution. Le service au restaurant est de qualité et le petit déjeuner aussi. La vue sur la plage est exceptionnelle

La propreté de la literie.. Nous avons changé de logement le dernier soir et nous avons eu l'impression que les draps n'avaient pas été changés

The Staff at Coconut Grove were absolutely incredible, so wonderful, kind and helpful ALL the time! Our Drivers were excellent and friendly, the snorkeling trip with Ken was something we will never forget! The beach and view was stunning, the rooms simple, stylish and super easy. Definitely and the perfect end of Juara beach. Absolutely loved it! Thank you so much to all the team at Coconut Grove! Absolutely worth the long journey! Thank you!

Wakker worden, deur open en je staat op het strand, locatie kan niet beter. Het kleine resort ziet er tip top uit! Je kan gebruik maken van de bedjes aan het strand met kussens. We moesten op dag van vertrek vroeg weg, we kregen zelfs een ontbijt to go mee de avond er voor! Echt top! Verder zou ik iedereen Jura beach aan raden en niet te teket. Rustiger en mooier.

Badkamer is wat oud en klein, al hebben we hier niet veel last van gehad.

Très bon restaurant. Bonne literie, la chambre est simple mais confortable. Ouvrir sa porte et se trouver face a la plage et la mer est le vrai luxe. La gentillesse du personnel!

The location of the hotel is great. I mean anywhere on this stunning island would be fab but you could walk into the rainforest easily, you are next to the turtle sanctuary and there is a small strip of local shops you can walk to easily. The gardens in the hotel were lovely and the local wildlife that come to visit is amazing. The beach is stunning and the local trips are fantastic. We did coral beach snorkelling- awesome

The hotel could definitely have been cleaner. The staff were mediocre. Breakfast was good, dinner wasn't great.The bathrooms are wet rooms but nothing in the room to help drain the water away when you are finished ( like a squeege)

Mosquitoes around my room. I got dozen bites each time coming back and out of the room. 😭

Great location of the hotel but the bungalow was just OK. It was a little outdated and definitely needs some improvements, such as fresh paint on the walls, a renovated bathroom, or simply cleaner windows. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, and the food in the restaurant was very good. The chicken sambal and nasi goreng were absolutely top-notch. The only thing I would suggest is replacing the fish burger, which was absolutely inedible. Breakfast was really good especially curry and rotii.

Unfortunately, the biggest problem for us was the sand flies on the beach. Their bites were absolutely terrible—much worse than mosquito bites. We brought a very strong DEET-based repellent with us, but it didn't seem to bother the sand flies at all. :)

The generator noise for the neiboring hotel

Directly at great beach, nice areas to snorkel nearby. Good airconditioning and comfortable bed.

Loud generator running all night (less noisy at beach bungalows, very noisy at restaurant), food average with small portion size and overpriced (compared to nearby restaurants). Lots of mosquitos (we have never gotten so many mosquito bites in our life, despite repellent - ensure you use strong one).

The beach is directly opposite of the hotel which is very convenient if you’re planning to just chill by the beach or do some beach activities

Probably the best place to stay in Juara, the location is beautiful, the cabins are comfortable and pretty and the restaurant and food are good. The owners made the smart decision to preserve some of the raw nature around the cabin which makes the hotel feel in balance with the setting.

Some nights we had a very loud sound from the generator (?) of the neighbor hotel. It lasted several hours in the night and it made very difficult to relax. Although is not the fault the hotel itself I think something should be done, like offer earplugs or reinforcing the walls of the cabins or put more plants... Also, for the price you would expect daily room service (just cleaning would be enough).

Coconut Grove is a charming beach hotel! Its located right at the beach (you just cross over a footpath and there's the sandy beach with chairs plus also a little bar). Another bonus of the location is that the turtle sanctuary is right next to the hotel and you can start a nice walk to the waterfall. The rooms are located in individual bungalows - mine was very cosy, with a comfortable bed. The staff was extremely helpful and organised transport and snorkeling trips.

Not an issue in my opinion, but the rooms are not soundproof and there are no blackout curtains - so you either get up with the sun or get an eyemask.

It is super close to the beach, and staff were friendly and nice.

Nothing against the property, just that it is not a big resort, so not much facilities.

Der Manager der Anlage ist stets sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Beste Lage in der Bucht, wahrscheinlich die beste Unterkunft dort. Die Hütten passen gut zur Umgebung, im Gegensatz zur benachbarten Anlage, die Luxus verspricht, aber Beton bietet. Das Restaurant ist ok. Fragt nach frischem Fisch, den es nicht jeden Tag gibt. Es gibt verschiedene Biersorten und sogar Cider. In der Bucht sehr ungewöhnlich.

Ich hatte eine Hütte für mich allein und somit Anspruch auf zwei Portionen Frühstück. Das war sehr ausreichend und lecker. Eine Portion wäre mir zu wenig gewesen.

The location is really beautiful and the owner very friendly. We stayed in the beachfront which is a nice lodge . Unfortunately the bedding was really dirty. We had to ask for different pillows as ours was full of stains, yellow and really gross. They should put an extra layer around them that they easily can wash. The bed sheets weren't very clean either. Beda were comfortable. They have an excellent cook for dinner. Though you can't really enjoy it that much as the noise in the restaurant from a exhaust fan or generator (not sure) was so extremely loud. A real pitty as the location is beautiful but the noise just spoils it. We therefore ended up eating elsewhere on the other nights even though the cook was great. Breakfast is simple and not much you can only choose between set breakfast and it was just not enough. We would recommend as the location is nice but there is definitely room for improvement

Lieu perdu dans une toute petite commune à laquelle on arrive en 4x4 par une seule route. On est déconnecté, les repas sont bons et il y a d'autres petits restaurants proches. Plage en face et transats à disposition. Activités comme le snorkeling proposées par l'hôtel

On est en Malaisie donc la douche est juste un pommeau au plafond qui coule entre le lavabo et les WC (pas de receveur) donc on mouille tout ! Mais on est en vacances et le lieu est vraiment sympa

Amazing place right on the beachfront with beautiful chalets in a natural environment. Really helpful and friendly staff. Great food. Excellent trips to go snorkeling and rainforest hiking. Right next to a turtle conservation centre. Easy to walk around to nearby places. Easy pick up from the ferry by 4x4. Fantastic location where we had the entire beach pretty much to ourselves with shallow water and easy swimming in crystal clear water. Truly amazing place.

It’s close to the beach.

It’s so expensive for what it is. Nothing special about the accommodation. Having stayed at Pangkor Laut and Da Tai in Langkawi it’s so basic and doesn’t scream luxury at all.

For me, in that part of the island the best hotel as it was very quiet but had next door a much more active hotel if you want to choose both options, in front of the beach. Unbeatable experience, the staff was great, helpful at all times.

Location in the sea view room was perfect, a few steps onto the beach. Brilliant staff who couldn’t have done more, including organising a snorkelling trip for us. We used the restaurant for breakfast everyday and for dinner, both were great. Would definitely return and recommend Coconut Grove!

It's located towards the south end of the beach so very little traffic : as such it's quiet. The beach is literally a 30sec from the bungalow very nice

The location is really great. The garden view rooms are extremely close to the beach too. The staff are lovely. It's such a great place to relax. We stayed for a week and would have loved to stay longer.

Perfect location at Juara Beach. You just walk a few steps and are on the beach. Close to jungle and waterfall hikes. Simple hut but all we need.

To get on the other side of the Island you have to take a car which always costs a lot of money. Breakfast was really bad and super simple - for the price you pay you can expect more.
