Reviewed Aug 10, 2026The place exceeded my expectations, absolutely clean and beautifully put together, its warm and cosy with everything you need to feel like home. Plenty of fresh towels, clean sheets and extra blankets if you need. We had a braai as well, very private area with some nice greenery all around. Our host was welcoming and very accommodating. The place offered reading material and entertainment, with glass on the doors and big windows which let in some good light. With a lovely big bath and hot showers available, the place is absolutely worth checking out.
Only positives on this one, place is just like the reviews, amazing.

Reviewed Jul 23, 2026I did not have breakfast because we were not let in the property and they did not respond to the 13 calls made to the establishment. We slept in the car at Hilton Police station as the safe place to park over night.
The fact that the owner did not respond to any calls and did not bother to call the next day up until I had to call again to inquire about the return of the amount paid and yet still have not received any feedback regarding the return of the money paid.

The host was not very friendly, it was as if she couldn’t wait for us to leave. The plug points for the heaters didn’t work. And we couldn’t use the grass lawn or pool.

The accommodation is very peaceful and secure and only a short drive to the start of the race via a route that avoided the main roads and traffic. Mary-anne was an excellent host and even helped us with the lift to the start in Pietermaritzburg. Thank you very much!

From parking, sleeping layout the unit is more orientated to a family of max 4 rather than two couples. The bathroom and living area create a bit of awkwardness.
