Oak Tree Inn

L'hôtel est situé dans un endroit magnifique, au bord d'un des plus beaux lacs d'Ecosse. Le restaurant attenant à l'hôtel était très bien, avec un bon rapport qualité-prix (comme souvent en Grande-Bretagne).

La chambre était chère pour le confort et la surface disponible. Le lit était petit (140 cm) et coincé entre 2 armoires. Cela ressemblait davantage à un mobile home qu'à une véritable chambre d'hôtel.

Room and setting is excellent.

We didn’t like the fact they concentrated on serving food and did not have anywhere for residents to sit and have a drink after eating. They would not allow you to sit at your table after you had eaten.

Room was spotless. The staff at check in was really lovely and amended my dinner booking to an earlier slot as well. In the morning - I was checking out a little early (breakfast is from 7.30 and I was at the door at 7.25) & when I went to hand in my key - a lovely lady (beautiful blue eye make up) made me feel so welcome and had a lovely wee chat with me. When I said I was just going to get going (I was hoping to grab an apple or banana) she insisted on putting on some Gluten free toast for me. Which was so appreciated.

Only annoyance is that it's exactly halfway through Stage 2 of the West Highland Way (12 of 24km) so you either have a really long or short day either side. Not that it can help this! Also pretty expensive for what it is, but given its isolation, there's basically no other options

Wunderschöne familiengeführte Unterkunft in perfekter Lage zum Wandern am Loch Lomond. Wir hatten ein sehr gemütliches Zimmer mit Seeblick. Das Abendessen im Restaurant sowie das Café nebenan sind auch sehr zum empfehlen.

It is a beautiful property, very nicely decorated, new and clean. Provides guests with bathrobes and slippers which is a very thoughtful touch.

Il y avait de la poussière en dessous du lit, de la tv et il restait des cheveux dans la salle de bain, douche. Les coins n’étaient pas fait. Nous avons eu bcp de difficulté à avoir de l’eau chaude. La cabane était calme mais c’était vraiment trop petit pour un couple+ manque de prise

Proche de Loch Lomond, parfait pour Conic Hill! Facilité de stationnement devant le logement. Notre chambre était dans un cottage, avec terrasse vue lac. Le petit déjeuner peut convenir à tous, avec du choix. Et pour le restaurant, un dessert au caramel extra!

El hotel está situado en un lugar privilegiado en Balmaha, entre Loch Lomond y Connic Hill, donde teníamos pensado subir. Dispone de habitaciones y lodges, ubicados a lo largo de 100 metros de la carretera principal junto al hotel. La llegada es muy cómoda, puedes aparcar en la parte de atrás del hotel para hacer el check-in, y luego dirigirte a tu lodge, donde dispones de plaza de parking. Nuestra habitación era ámplia y con terraza, con unas vistas magníficas del lago. El restaurante del hotel es muy recomendable.

La ventana de la cabecera de la cama estaba rota. No nos molestó ni el ruido ni la lluvia, pero por el precio debería estar reparada. La presión de agua en la ducha tampoco era buena, el regulador estaba roto o limitado. En conjunto hace la estancia algo decepcionante.

De matrassen waren voorzien van een plastic laag, waardoor je snel ging zweten in bed. Het uitzicht uit de kamer was een schutting/parkeerplaats. Erg gehorig, je hoorde alles van de bovenburen. Kleine kamer, maar grote badkamer.

A fabulous stay at the Oak Tree. A great room. So comfortable and full of fabulous finishings and soft furnishings. A great dinner - the haggis & clapshot pie might just be the best pie ever! A truly lovely location for a wee after dinner wander too. A great stay and we'll look forward to a return visit.

The Oak Tree Inn was easily the most luxurious and cozy stay on our West Highland Way trek. We stopped in for lunch after coming down Conic Hill and I had one of the best salads I've ever eaten (spouse had a hamburger that was equally delicious). We had arrived before we could check in, so we took a ferry to Inchcailloch and spent the afternoon exploring. It was magical, especially after coming across a sandy beach where we could soak our tired feet. Back at the Inn, we stayed in a room in one of the cottages, and the lodging was perfect. The shower and bathtub were spa levels, and the robes and slippers that came with the room were plush bonuses. All the food we ate at the Inn was exceptional, and the ice cream shop and gift store next door were absolutely worth visiting—in retrospect, I wish I had bought more local Balmaha honey as gifts for friends. Even if you don't stay at the Oak Tree Inn, eating at the restaurant should be considered a mandatory stop for anyone walking the WHW.

We have to admit, the property is good - great location, heating on (much appreciated after just climbing down from Conic Hill in the pouring rain 🥶) and just an overall comfy room.

We felt like the price was just too much for what was offered. Breakfast was generally not so diverse, you could either just make yourself an English breakfast or opt for cereal and milk. Not only that, but the walls to the cottage were suuper thin - our neighbours happened to be travelling with a baby and we were woken up several times throughout the night, as we could hear every single noise. It felt like they were in the same room as us:)))))) It’s not like you have many other accommodation options in Balmaha anyway, so I think they are just taking advantage of that.

Wij hadden een kamer in een cottage, en dat is erg gehorig. We hoorden alles van de gasten die boven ons een kamer hadden.

Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was again nice and relaxed. The food was very good and again the staff were all friendly

It was all fine. The only issue was a few cobwebs in the room windows. There was no shelving or storage to put things on in the bathroom. There was a feather pillow on the bed. Having feather allergies wasn’t ideal but I just put it in a drawer

Breakfast was OK. room was in a small cottage of four rooms. Quite noisy and very hard to work out exactly where it was when we were told how to find it. Took a few return visits to Reception prior to actually getting into a room. Gift shop was ok, but didn't visit the coffee shop so unsure what that was like. Dinner was ok, nothing special.

I think it is set up more for families. Everything seems too loud.

Die Lage, am Ufer des Loch Lomond.

Es gibt vom Hotel keinen Zugang zum See, der aber im Prospekt angepriesen wird. Das ganze Gelände um das Hotel ist ungepflegt . Es gibt im Zimmer nur eine Sitzgelegenheit und sonst im Außengelände nur Tische und Stühle, die vom Restaurant bedient werden und man genötigt wird zu bestellen. Die Karte des Restaurants war sehr übersichtlich. Ein wechselndes Tagesangebot fehlte. Es wird mit selbstgebrautem Bier geworben, das es aber nicht gibt. Das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis stimmt hier nicht.

Perfekter Standort, grosse Appartments einmalg. Super Essen und Fühstück. Das beste Hotel auf unserer Highland Reise.

Sauberkeit kann verbessert werden. Graue Abdichtungen, die Ecken nicht sauber, noch Staub, Tasse mit Kaffeerand. Wasserhahn der tropft umd wackelt. Shampoobehälter lose.

Great location, great atmosphere, good food, overall happy with the place.

Choose a room in the main accommodation, I wouldn't recommend the Pods, don't get me wrong it was very clean but feels a bit like staying in a tiny Static caravan, cold shower boiler was playing up, but staff gave us a free breakfast.

The room was spotless in utterly beautiful surroundings. Everything we needed for a one night stay was available to us and the room was styled and out together perfectly. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, particularly in the bar and restaurant where we had dinner. The food for was delicious and the cocktails were very well made. We had a wonderful stay and will hopefully return soon!

The parking could have been a bit clearer sign posted. There was plenty down by the cottage we were in once we found it but we had to park in the general carpark first whilst we checked in. Not a massive issue, just some signage for residents would be helpful :)

I’ve always visited the Oak Tree Inn for a drink and have always loved it. Staying at the Corrie Vern cottage was even better! Super clean, large room, with a great view. Great amenities and staff were exceptional. We were given a room upgrade and the lady at reception even offered us dinner on the house! Super friendly environment. We also were given fans in the room which really helped as it was super sunny weather all throughout our stay.

The Oak Tree Inn was really the heart of Balmaha. We stayed in the superior pods and they were cozy, temperature friendly, private and beautifully laid out. The staff were always friendly and helpful - we had a fabulous time.

Chambre supérieure réservée et payée. En arrivant à 19h on a eu chambre minuscule qui sentait humidité. Nous sommes restés 2 jours, le ménage n'a pas été fait dans la chambre. Je n'ai jamais eu ça dans aucun hôtel !

Ich hatte ein en-Suite Zimmer in einem der Cottages. Der Raum war gross, das Bett sehr bequem und die Dusche warm und mit gutem Druck. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit
