An absolutely beautiful hotel with a very peaceful atmosphere. We would definitely recommend booking a room with a jacuzzi! The hotel’s food was the best we had in the area—and trust us, we normally prefer eating outside the hotel. It was so delicious that we ended up eating at the hotel several times during our stay. The location is also excellent, close to both restaurants and the beach. We would definitely recommend staying here!

The bathroom was a little outdated and could use some renovation, but it was very clean.

Très bel hôtel dans un cadre splendide, au bord d'une lagune d'où l'on a pu admirer un magnifique coucher de soleil. Parfait pour les amoureux de la nature et du calme. Possibilité de rejoindre la plage sur demande en moins de 5min grâce au service de voiturette privée offert par l'établissement - top ! La suite avec jacuzzi, moderne et spacieuse, nous a beaucoup plu. Côté restaurant, les cocktails sont originaux et délicieux, le cappucino réussi, le petit-déjeuner sri-lankais succulent. Nous recommandons vivement l'expérience "Floating Deck & Candlelight Dinner" : magique ! Un grand merci aux membres du personnel, qui ont tous concouru à ce merveilleux séjour.

The whole hotel, bedroom, dining room, food, staff, pool, view, and gardens all were spectacular . It's a proper 5-star resort, not pretend. Staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly. Pool are, gardens, amazing. View our onto the lagoon, palm trees, etc. was like a movie.

אחד המלונות הטובים ביותר שהתארחנו בהם בסרי לנקה. מהרגע שהגענו הרגשנו שמארחים אותנו מכל הלב. הצוות היה פשוט מדהים, אדיב, חייכן, קשוב ותמיד מוכן לעזור בכל דבר. המלון יפהפה, מטופח ושקט, החדר היה מרווח ונעים, הבריכה נהדרת והאווירה כולה מרגיעה ומפנקת. רמת השירות הייתה יוצאת דופן והפכה את השהייה שלנו לחוויה בלתי נשכחת. באמת מקום שמרגיש כמו גן עדן, והיינו נשארים בו בשמחה לעוד כמה ימים.

באמת שלא מצאנו משהו שלא אהבנו. הדבר היחיד שהיה קשה הוא לעזוב.

Our room was huge and in a lovely spot overlooking the water. The shuttle service to the beach was a bonus and it was close enough to easily walk back. Easy walk to the main street and restaurants.

We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this hotel! The hotel is beautiful and very spacious, with a perfect location at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, making it peaceful and relaxing. Our room was huge and included a jacuzzi, which was absolutely worth it. If you have the chance, I highly recommend booking this room type. The view was also beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The pool is one of the best we've experienced at any hotel. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun. Dinner exceeded our expectations. Every evening there was a different menu with several delicious options to choose from, which was a lovely surprise. Everything we tried was excellent. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would happily return!

The only area that really disappointed us was the housekeeping. The hotel states that bed linen is changed every two days, but during our stay this didn't seem to happen. The same stains remained on the sheets the entire time. It was also noticeable that the sheets were very worn from repeated washing - they were extremely thin, had small holes around the edges, and even tore very easily. Housekeeping also came quite late every day, usually between 4:00 and 5:00 PM. This was exactly the time we wanted to return to the room to cool down after being in the sun, shower, and relax. We would have preferred the room to be cleaned in the morning or around lunchtime instead. To be fair, on one day we accidentally left the "Do Not Disturb" sign on, so that missed cleaning was our mistake. The quality of the cleaning could also be improved. The floors were never cleaned, and housekeeping mostly just emptied the bin, made the bed, and replaced the towels. Another thing that stood out was the music in the dining area. The exact same playlist was played every single day. I honestly wonder how the staff don't get tired of hearing the same songs over and over again! What made it even more noticeable was that the recording itself seemed to be damaged, especially the instrumental saxophone love songs, which skipped or distorted at exactly the same points every day. At first it was quite funny, but after hearing the same broken tracks for several days, it became rather irritating. As a musician, I found it particularly distracting. I would really recommend updating both the playlist and the audio recording.

The hotel was impeccable and the Amaranthe serves as a a fine example of authentic Sri Lankan hospitality, manners and dignity. The staff were, without exception, truly interested in their guests' experience and welfare abd always ready, willing and able to go that extra mile to further enhance their guests' experience. Chef Dhinuka was an absolute master at his craft and so willing to widen one's appreciation of the Sri Lankan culinary culture. Kirula was the mist attentive and pleasant waiter whose mère présence during mealtimes brought à sense if ease and relaxation on account of his wonderful demeanour .Prium and Keerththana on Front Desk were a joy to deal with for all members of my family, from the youngest to the oldest and I thank each of them profusely. The hotel us excellent value for money and will serve to embellish your memories of this enchanting island nation

Fue todo espectacular aunque para mi gusto bastante caro aunque ofrecen grandes lujos por ello. Y el jacuzzi y la comida fue realmente espectacular. Muy recomendado si vas con idea de un hotel lujoso

It was absolutely perfect! The staff were so friendly and attentive! Reception helped us organise some trips as well. The pool and pool area was clean and big. Rooms were great too. Breakfast was amazing, we also had dinner once which was very good too.

Honestly the ONLY thing I didn't like was the coffee at the breakfast buffet. Other than that it was perfect! (The coffee you can order separately is good!)

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our hotel room was modern, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The swimming pool was the perfect size to relax and enjoy.

Das Zimmer mit den Jacuzzi war echt groß und die Ausstattung war gut. Der Ausblick vom Balkon und aus dem Jacuzzi gefiel uns besonders gut. Beim Frühstück gab es genug Auswahl. Toll war auch den kostenlosen Shuttle Service zum Beach.

The staff were extremely helpful especially Mr. Mayuran. We got complimentary breakfast and he helped arranged the tours for Dolphin watching and Pigeon Island. The pool is great. The outdoors are well maintained. The location is good and the hotel provides a drop/pick up service to the beach. The lady in the spa is very friendly and efficient.

The standard double rooms are very shabby considering it is a 5* property. Stay in the Suites, it is totally different from the standard rooms.

Amazing pool area, with a great bar & restaurant, the food was excellent. Staff were very kind and friendly! They sorted out a birthday cake for my husbands 30th birthday, it was fantastic

We loved the location on the lagoon. Great food and drink. Super, friendly staff. Clean large bedrooms. Upgraded to luxury suite with jacuzzi. Large comfy beds. Great A-C. Well managed pool. Short tuk tuk ride or walk to beach and bars. Great massage with Pudu. (25 mins from Nilaveli beach in taxi- well worth that.)

Everything. The hotel is truly beautiful. Our room was enormous and had a jacuzzi in the room 😎The gardens are kept meticulously. The lovely pool and pool jacuzzi are tended by the most wonderful pool attendant who always ensures that he has towels available. We also took a canoe ride out into the lagoon and he was our guide. We were the only ones out on the lagoon save for a solitary fisherman. Paddling through the mangroves was magical as was the array of birdlife. Afterwards we enjoyed great cocktails and chilled by the pool. Breakfast was very good as was bar food. We did not eat much or dinner at the hotel but only because we wanted to explore local offerings. Lastly it would be remiss not to mention the outstanding staff at the hotel who were attentive and very polite and made our stay a delight.

Nothing. This place is outstanding- It feels more authentic than the bigger, more lavish but perhaps brasher Cinnamon Blu just 100 metres away.

Spacious, comfortable en suite rooms with seating area and jacuzzi bath and beautiful views. Loved the restaurant food (thank you chef Suneth!) and the bar. We arrived at 4pm and by 4.30pm were in a kayak heading out into the beautiful lagoon with a mini picnic for a spectacular sunset, which we watched from a rock whilst enjoying the peace, views and wildlife (esp the eagles). Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we had a couple of the best massages we’ve ever enjoyed 😊 Fascinating area to visit.

This was our best 6 days restfull holiday ever. The food was amazing. As a Tamil who has been overseas for 48 years, I really appreciated the chef going out of his way to cook all the different dishes I requested for breakfast and dinner. The junior suite was spacious, had a comfortable bed, sports channels streaming and excellent room service. The rooms were cleaned and refreshed everyday to the highest standard. The service excellent throughout the hotel and was with a smile. Being quiet season, the weather was mild and we had the pool to ourselves for lap swimming By the time we left, we felt as though we were part of the family. We missed the hospitality when we arrived at a 5 star hotel in Colombo for 4 nights. Hopefully we will return one day.

Me encantó la mejora de habitación q me dieron, una junior suite, al ser temporada baja el hotel tenía poca ocupación y agradezco su generosidad. El SPA fenomenal y la piscina junto al lago tb. La playa está a escasos minutos andando, pero tb tienen un cochecito eléctrico que te lleva y te trae si lo pides, Rosh, muy amablemente me llevó y acompañó en un paseo, así que hicieron q mi estancia fuera muy agradable.

Friendly staff. Very helpful. Room was lovely. Very spacious with a great outlook to the pool & lagoon. Good water pressure in shower. Only ate breakfast in the restrauant and that was excellent on both mornings. Loved the pancakes along with curd & treacle and some papaya & pineapple.

The staff is really nice and the service is superb. Rooms are spacious. It is not on the beach front but very close. Along the beach there are many places offering sunbeds so not a big issue.

The hotel needs a good renovation. Everything feels worn out including the rooms and public spaces. I was expecting a bit more for the price

Je trouve que le buffet du soir est très cher. Un prix exorbitant entre 18-22€ je crois. Après il s’agit d’un resort c’est les même prix qu’en France pour les boissons repas et cetera.

Such a beautiful hotel. With friendly and helpful staff. We found it to be the best pool we could find in Trincomalee with a decent deep end. Rare in trincomalee. We all loved it so much that we booked it for a second time during our holiday. Very central to all the best hotspots like Fernando’s bar district. 5 mins walk. Would definitely recommend five stars all the way.

We were upgraded to a junior suite which was wonderful, and had a jacuzzi. Very large and comfortable room with terrace leading to pool. All staff delightful, very attentive and helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinners were excellent. The hotel provided better drivers' accommodation than the other hotels we stayed at. Handy location between Trincomalee and Nilaveli.

Took a long time to get hot water in the shower and jacuzzi. Reported this and hotel were unaware but will look into it.

La struttura è curata nei minimi dettagli e molto pulita e situata in una posizione leggermente isolata, lontana dalla confusione ma comunque a pochi passi dalla spiaggia di Uppuveli e dai ristoranti/negozi. La colazione e la cena, entrambe a buffet, offrivano un’ampia scelta e di ottima qualità, mentre il pranzo è possibile gustarlo a bordo piscina direttamente sul lettino o al bar adiacente. La camera, spaziosa e luminosa, offriva una vista mozzafiato sulla baia che ha reso il risveglio ancora più speciale. Un luogo dove sentirsi coccolati e rilassati: lo consiglio assolutamente!

Almost Everything

Grateful staff, good atmosphere, and spacious rooms. Overall, everything was fine and good value for money. However, the bar service was disappointing. The bartender lacked cocktail knowledge, and both times I ordered, the drinks were poor quality despite being expensive.

Very big rooms. Viewing deck lovely to watch the sunset. Nice big pool. Great aircon in the room. Lovely shower.

This didn’t feel like a five star resort to us - the facilities were quite outdated and old with great room for improvement (for example: the pool chair cushions were grubby/tatty/missing entirely, there were no cushions provided if you wanted to sit by the lagoon, the coffee machine was broken so cappuccinos weren’t possible, they didn’t have ingredients for some of the cocktails on the menu) There is no gym on the premises. The cocktails were also very, very overpriced - they charge £14 for a margarita! The rooms were cleaned but again, not to five star standard - dirty glasses and spoons were left and not replaced with clean ones.

Exceptional service at a true 5-star hotel! We had such a wonderful 3-day stay that we decided to extend our visit at the end of our trip. The team arranged all of our activities seamlessly. A special thanks to the Guest Relations Executive, Sri Mayuran, who was extremely helpful, as well as Mithu from the restaurant —both made our holiday truly memorable. The hotel is spotless, the food is delicious, and the location is excellent. Highly recommended!

Piękne, ciche i spokojne miejsce. Obsługa na najwyższym poziomie. Wszędzie blisko. Plaża piękna - zupełnie nie przeszkadza że hotel nie jest nad samym morze, jakość, obsługa i poziom miejsca rekompensuje to z naddatkiem.

De rest van het hotel is verouderd. Zowel het verblijf rond het zwembad als de bar en toegang kan een opfrisbeurt gebruiken. Een groot contrast met de kamer zelf die er prima uitzag. Vooral het prijskaartje stond niet in verhouding met wat je te zien kreeg. De avond van Volle Maan was er geen drank te verkrijgen. Volgens de barman kon je ook geen drank meenemen naar de kamer. In het zwembad waren veel kinderen aan het spelen waardoor rusten rond het zwembad moeilijk was. De bediening was oké, maar niet zo warm als we elders in Sri Lanka hebben mogen ontvangen. Het hotel ligt op wandelafstand van het strand, maar je moet wel langs een smal en verlaten straatje.
