The pipes over the small basin made it difficult to access. The blinds did not give you privacy at all, is someone walked past at night and the light inside was on you could see straight into the unit. Did not like the fact that you had to park your car away from the room

• Wi-Fi / TV connection was not working. Staff promised to fix it the next day but never came back. • TV position is awkward. Not directly facing the bed, room feels cramped, and TV is too small. • Game viewing was very disappointing. Very few animals compared to last December — only about 3 impalas and 2 zebras. • No prior communication about the low game levels. Should have been communicated beforehand to manage expectations. • Resort is still under construction. Work was happening while guests were on holiday. • Hot water in the shower ran out very quickly. After about 20 minutes it was already cold, which forces you to rush.

Reviewed Jan 8, 2026We had a wonderful stay at Mzimkhulu Ranch & Resort. The staff were absolutely great—very friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Their positive attitude really made our holiday special and comfortable. The location in the Dinokeng Game Reserve added to the overall experience, making it a memorable December holiday. We would definitely recommend this resort and would love to return. The accommodation was extremely well equipped, offering far more than expected, including plates, cutlery, glasses, coffee mugs, braai tongs, a light at the braai area, cleaning cloths, towels, toilet paper, and soap, which made our stay very comfortable and convenient.”
The only downside was that the restaurant and shop were not yet open, but once they are operational, it will definitely enhance the overall experience.

Just what we needed! We felt so private and safe!! We would recommend this place to anyone who needs a relaxing, quiet breakaway!

Apart form braaing or microwaving it is a little hard to make food for yourself.

The fact that there are no stoves but it’s self catering and the diner isn’t ready yet so preparing meals is a bit of an issue. Didn’t see the buck and some of the other animals that were on the pictures.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2025The place is super cool and quiet , you have some you time with little disturbance as possible . It is a really great spot to just go and relax and understanding that it’s fairly new. They have done fairly great for the place. Also network tends to dissapear but you’re here to relax so that’s a bonus .
The room we were staying in had something in the Ceiling , for some odd reason that lizard or whatever that was , made moving sounds in the morning which were really unpleasant, every morning we had to deal with noise in the ceiling . You kind of need to also buy everything you need before getting here since it’s a very remote area. The Gravel road is honestly something beyond their control but isn’t terrible, you just have to be super careful at some points if your car is very low

Reviewed Jul 17, 2025Our stay was amazing and so relaxing. Princess & Senzo were exceptional, friendly & so helpful. We enjoyed a nice walk with Senzo, during which he showed us the animals and shared more about the history of the ranch & resort. Princess was amazing and made us feel right at home since the moment we arrived. Can't wait to return and see the improvements of the restaurant and glamping camp they are currently building! Keep up the great work!

The chalet was great, but the sink/basin could have been a little bigger, as the dinner plate was bigger than the sink. The toilet wash basin was also a bit small, so water tended to splash all over. Other than that, the room was great

The staff were friendly, available to assist if we needed anything and also meeting the owner. Pool area was awesome including the individual braai areas next to our chalets

Reviewed Nov 25, 2024Absolutely loved how private and cosy it is and that we were not so close to the other people who also booked. service was excellent and the pool was lovely especially with the hot weather, the staff was friendly and all smiles.
No Diner we had to drive to another resort for food but i saw that is said coming soon, it was not train smash. Drive faster when driving on the gravel road, you will not feel the bumps as much, much better than driving slow and less it is uncomfortable especially when driving sedan/hatchback.

To be honest there’s nothing I didn’t like about the place.. the problem was only the network of which I can’t really blame that to the resort.

Reviewed Oct 14, 2024Wow what a gem of a place pool was stunning. staff friendly rooms more than enough. The host came and introduce himself. The animals on property Zebra and wildebeest stunning to see. My vehicle had a puncture the owner and his workers helped me and even fixed my wheel for me this is what you call service. we will be back soon.
Nothing it was perfect for us we enjoyed it.
