I wasn’t given the opportunity to enjoy my spa treatment cause the host gave the spa therapist the wrong booking time. I booked x 2 treatments at 13:00, the therapists came at 13:40 and in panic mode saying the host said she made a mistake,she thought I booked for 13:30. So I couldn’t do the foot scrub,could only do the back massage of which took 15 minutes cause I needed to prepare for the game drive. During the massage the therapist was soo distracted,she used one hand to massage me and the other one she was using her phone

The road to the lodge is mostly one way ,,you have to wait and give way to the oncoming cars.i also didn't like their mat in the rooms.

Check-in was slower than expected. The room wasn't ready upon arrival and we ended up checking in at 15:45. The host mentioned they had some trouble with the previous guest. Hopefully this can be improved for future stays.

There is no reception area so you definitely feel completely remote but there are very very good measures in place for you to easily get in and out of the property, we loved our stay!! Would recommend a restaurant on site.

From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the beauty of the surroundings, the peaceful atmosphere, and the luxurious villa. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The villa was spotless, beautifully maintained, and equipped with absolutely everything we could possibly need. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered, and we never felt that anything was missing. A special thank you to Andrea, our host, who was outstanding. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She was always just a phone call away, ready to assist with any questions or information we needed, making us feel truly welcome and well cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful, luxurious getaway. We will definitely be back!

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026My husband and I recently stayed at Minara Private Boutique Game Lodge for a much-needed getaway, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, private, and thoughtfully curated. The room was beautiful, the surroundings were breathtaking, and the atmosphere made it so easy to slow down and simply enjoy being together. Our absolute favourite part of the stay was the wood-fired hot tub. We spent so much time in it! There was something incredibly special about soaking in the perfectly warm water while the crisp winter air surrounded us. It was such a unique experience and honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip. Thank you, Minara, for such a memorable stay. We'll definitely be back, and we'll be recommending it to anyone looking for a romantic bush getaway.
A small tip for future guests would be some guidance on heating the wood-fired hot tub. We took a little while to get the hang of it, but once we did, it was hands down our favourite part of the entire stay!

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026I loved the entire place,the decor and room was authentically pleasing. It was extremely clean and neat as well. Easy check-in and out. It’s very peaceful place and a real gem away from the city. They pay attention to detail.
The only thing I didn’t like is that our Tickle Tub wasn’t functioning properly. It only gets warm on top while the bottom doesn’t get warm. Noticed that the bottom tube isn’t bringing in heat. Was disappointed as was looking forward to using it.

We were forced to book 2 days right !? No problem so why don’t they provide complimentary things like basics water and toilet paper for two days … on our last day we asked for toilet paper and we only got one and it’s low quality if I knew I would have bought the toilet paper with us … which kinda not nice … also we had to request for water and we told drinking water is only the first 2 complimentary small bottles otherwise nothing and we don’t drink tap water… for health reasons … and also I wish their toilet could be designed to have privacy… … there is no door and while doing number 2 the smell enters the entire villa 😩

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026Beautiful lodge with an amazing aesthetic and peaceful atmosphere. Seeing buck roaming the property added to the charm, and the game drive delivered with sightings of the Big Five. The team was also very responsive on WhatsApp throughout our stay.
The in-room spa treatment we booked five days in advance never happened, despite waiting 90 minutes and being repeatedly told to wait a little longer. This was particularly disappointing as we were celebrating our honeymoon. The hot tub also required far more wood than indicated in the provided instructions.

That the farmhouse is right by the main gate, had a person checking in and their phone died so the just kept hooting at the gate The bin is too small for the amount of people We had a rat eat our bread rolls so a bread bin would be a great investment Lastly villa 1 played their music way too loud… signs should be up to keep music low
