Cliff and Coral Varkala, North Cliff

Except room location everything is not satisified. I am very disappointed regarding g the stay, I have booked for AC double bed room, but as AC is not in working condition they removed that option in online and told that I have booked for non AC room and when I wanted to cancel the booking I was not provided with the refund also. And the attitude of the recioptionist Mr. John was also not welcoming, so as a whole they gave us a bad experience.

Only the location is good. It is in walking distance to all the cafes and shopping sites

The washroom was not clean. The locker had no key and they asked money to buy the key. What does locker mean then. The guy was very rude and I didn't like his hospitality.

Staff using the guest bathroom and leaving the door without closing. Staff Bad talks in gust rooms. Traying to girls.otherwise making trouble. When booking less price room in first floor, bathroom in row . If we want change we have to give lot of money

Location is good, but in the app we booked a full 8 member room , but after going there we got 2 separate rooms with 4 beds containing 2 cots.

Comfortable and clean dorms, bathroom clean. Had storage facilities for bags but no locks. Very friendly vibe in the hostel with lots of socialising.

Disappointed with the attitude of the staff. I found them to be inattentive with issues I.e. my socket not working and making it difficult for me to move bed, power cut meaning an hour of no AC, was unable to do any laundry in my 3 nights at the hostel. Even at times I was looking for assistance at reception sometimes no one would be there. Very friendly but not always the most helpful. Another complaint would be the loud music playing on the roof until 2-3am. I understand the hostel is meant for socialising but I feel a curfew or some soundproofing would be beneficial.

Very much compact space didn’t like the stay. In picture it seems to be spacious but in reality it is very small room with 4 beds. Worst thing was damping smell.

**Extremely disappointing and distressing experience — please exercise caution** I made a last-minute booking with this hotel and, while travelling, contacted the property to confirm arrangements. I was informed that my family could not be accommodated under their policy and was asked to meet them at the property. After arriving, I was then told that there was no valid booking and that no refund would be provided because my age and the ages of my family members allegedly did not fall within their policy guidelines. My concern is that any such restrictions should have been clearly disclosed **before accepting the booking and taking payment**. If there were age restrictions, family restrictions, or eligibility conditions, these should have been prominently highlighted during the booking process, with customers prevented from proceeding if they did not meet the criteria. I could not find any clear warning or prominent disclosure of such restrictions at the time of booking. Refusing accommodation after accepting the booking, while also refusing a refund, caused significant inconvenience, distress, and disruption to my family’s travel plans. I have initiated formal action to seek resolution and compensation for the losses and distress caused. I hope this encourages the property to improve its booking transparency and customer handling processes so that other travellers do not face a similar situation.

I loved the hospitality from Sree. Brother was good and kind. He was guiding throughout. Hostel is walkable to cliff. Excellent vibe. Safe for women travellers.

Parking is a bit far but walkable. Washroom was not neat. People smoking outside the hostel was bad. There should be seperate smoking zone. Our room was on ground floor so people were smoking in the front sitting and it was sooo bad .

The stay was very peaceful and cozy. And the host Jeevan was very friendly and helpful … the rooms and the dining area are all very clean and beautiful.. it was literally on top of the cliff and … very much recommended stay fr. I had the best time there.

This was truly a trip of a lifetime. After spending 9 nights and 10 unforgettable days at the property, leaving was surprisingly emotional. The warmth of the staff, the amazing people you meet along the way, and the vibrant atmosphere ensured there was never a dull moment. A very special shoutout to Jeevan and Nandu for being exceptional hosts and making our stay even more memorable. Their hospitality, kindness, and dedication went above and beyond—they absolutely deserve a raise!

I like the terrace view it is worth the money. It is budget friendly also

It was my first time at a hostel. The experience was amazing. The dorm was clean, the people i met were amazing too. Such a great experience. And super close to the beach.

The reception guy is a bit weird and over friendly. During my days there, he used to randomly sing songs when I would pass, one day he creepily started singing “bheege hont tere” WTF was that. I immediately called him out and told him loud and clear to not do this and it makes me very uncomfortable, Stopped after that. Also fyi even mixed dorms don’t have curtains around bed, good luck if you wanna sleep peacefully or just like some basic privacy

Some of the crowd cranked up very loud music at 6-7 am and I was in a work meeting then it fucked my work up coz i will never expect men to misbehave with loud music at 7 am

People were smoking in room, no proper space for shoes, someone has taken my shoes and didn’t get any help from them.

Great location, 2min from the water front. The property is beautiful with lots of light & it is clean - They clean the floors, bathroom & bedding every day. The staff John & Nandu are very kind, I always felt safe and happy here!!
