Reviewed Sep 17, 2026No breakfasts were served but there were many eateries in near proximity that served breakfasts. The accommodation was well-presented with attention to detail, and everything was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the rest of Riebeek-Kasteel.
Nothing. The sloping roof, as this was a loft unit, may prove challenging for tall people, but did not affect me.

Reviewed Sep 16, 2026Location good- You can walk to shops and restaurants. Check-in process was easy and there is safe parking. Room is clean and comfortable with everything you need for an overnight accommodation. Very comfortable bed.
Ceiling a bit low above the bed, but this is due to the architecture of the roof. Needless to say, my partner who is tall, bumped his head quite often :-)

It was an exceptionally hot day, when we worked out the room was upstairs, we had the wrong key. Fortunately the reponsible person responded & was very helpful & sorted the problem out

Reviewed Nov 2, 2025Beautiful views in town. Small and like most tiny towns, artsy and friendly. If you go via Bains kloof pass to get there, it is an unforgettable journey. There are many beautiful mountain passes in SA, but this blew our minds away.
Accomodation should have signs on the ground floor indicating where to go. All good restaurants were unfortunately booked as there was a wine festival the next day. Avoid the Regalia restaurant. No prices on drinks so they overcharge by minium 50%. Food average. Other restaurants while there were good.

Reviewed Jun 9, 2025This was my second time staying as Kasteelberg Place - I opted to return because I had a positive first experience largely due to the modern facilities and excellent location. These two attributes remain key selling points of this property; additionally, the property is tidy, well maintained, and offers complimentary secure parking for those coming by car. Glenda, the property owner and manager, is very pleasant and accommodating. I would highly recommend Kasteelberg Place to those visiting Riebeek Kasteel.
Small points for improvement only: there was no rubbish bin in the toilet, nor was a hair dryer provided.

The WIFI was a bit slow for streaming, or the reception was not particularly good. A dryer or rack/line to hang clothes would complement the washing machine :)

One problem was that because it rained very heavily while we were there, the room (unit 4) of our guests got very wet at the entrance. The front door mat and almost up to the carpet) The rain drove in under the door.
