Villa Marbella Playa -San Pedro vs Similar Hotels

Rooms/apartments described as spacious, comfortable beds, modern and well equipped (kitchen, washing machine); minor issues reported (small bath towels, blunt knife, some worn items) but overall high quality.

Several negative comments: rooms described as old, not renovated, run-down, with weak AC, lack of slippers/iron and visible wear (holes in doors); some positive notes about room size and brightness but overall room quality is below expectation.

Mostly praised as 'super clean' and 'very clean' in multiple reviews, but there are a few complaints about hairs on sofa/bath and one instance of dirty water in the flat, so slightly below target.

Mixed reports: some guests praised prompt housekeeping and generally clean, bright rooms; several reviews report insects (cockroach, ants), bathroom bad smell and humidity, so cleanliness is inconsistent across rooms.

Frequently highlighted as a great location, well connected, close to shops/restaurants and bus connections — consistently very positive in the reviews.

Frequently praised: very good/excellent location, close to Puerto Banus and convenient for guests.

Staff repeatedly described as very friendly and helpful (assisted with rebooking to another flat, helpful aqua staff), though a few guests noted brusque service or cumbersome remote check-in; overall service is strong.

Generally positive: staff repeatedly described as friendly, helpful and responsive (prompt room cleaning, welcoming reception, active entertainment team).

Standard quality for this hotel tier (no substantive mentions of food & beverage in reviews).

Generally good: breakfasts described as very good, varied and abundant; meals praised in several reviews though one noted breakfast as decent but not international.

Good basic amenities (kitchen equipment, washer) praised, but several mentions of limited/sparse extras (few drying racks, small dishes, ironing board issues, tired towels) and parking/security concerns reduce the score.

Positive: multiple pools for adults and children, attractive green grounds, varied entertainment and activities; minor criticism about pool opening hours (starts at 11am).

Mixed: many guests felt comfortable and that the apartment was worth it, but complaints about high price, unexpected deposits (150–200 EUR) and paid garage with a theft incident lowered perceived value.

Several guests felt the price was too high for the quality (expected higher standard for a 4-star), stating rooms looked like 3-star and price/quality imbalance.
