Very disappointing experience. We stayed here once in February, and on this visit we discovered that the door code was exactly the same as it was four months ago! It is unbelievable that the door code had not been changed for such a long period, which raises serious security concerns. The check-in information was also not sent on time, leaving us unable to access the property for over an hour after the official 3pm check-in time. The same thing happened during our February stay, and at the time we assumed it was a one-off mistake. Unfortunately, experiencing exactly the same issue again suggests this is not an accident but a pattern of poor management. It was impossible to get assistance without making a phone call, which is particularly inconvenient for overseas travellers. We were told late check-out was available, but the message we received still stated a 10am check-out, so we left at 10am to avoid any problems. To make matters worse, there was a construction site next door and very limited parking available.

The owner didn’t communicate at all even though provide phone number, I send request through bookings message as well as text message to the owner but got no response at all. I tried extending my stay and waited for the owner’s response before booking with others, but the owner never replied, I have to spend much more money to book with others in last minute. Worst customer service ever.

Reviewed Dec 9, 2025Ich habe mich in der Unterkunft sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist eine kleine Wohngegend mitten in der Stadt, man ist schnell überall und dennoch ist es sehr ruhig und abgeschirmt. Die Unterkunft war sehr schön eingerichtet und gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen und war traurig nur 2 Nächste dort zu sein.

We only had one issue which was that we spent 45 minutes trying to get the oven to work - there were no instructions so we had to Google the manual for that particular oven and figure it out from there. It had been turned off at the wall and turned out we had to set the clock to the correct time before the oven would work - not ideal when we got in quite late and were very hungry. Would have been fine if there were just instructions in the guest book!

Value for money .Quiet. Modern appliances .easy check in. Very private. .Great sound proofing with double glazing and tint to keep sun glare down. Netflix. .clear helpful instructions for all appliances. Great wee place- we will be back!
.Only one towel each. Not enough shampoo for us to wash our hair or clean ourselves .(One small sample bottle of each for 2 people for 2 nights ) .only one spare roll of toilet paper. .No milk.

The lack of car parking was disappointing as the ad stated carparking available. On the street isn't that secure in christchurch. The fold out couch/bed was adequate for one night, could become a pain in the back for longer stays.
