⭐ Extremely disappointing experience Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and far below what I expected. On the day I received my booking confirmation, I was sent a message clearly stating that I would receive a “grab and go bag” with water and fruit. Based on this information, I arrived at the hotel expecting to receive it. I arrived late in the evening, but nothing was provided. There was no bag, no water, and nowhere nearby where I could purchase water. Even the reception did not have water available. I complained at reception and was then told that the hotel had stopped providing the grab-and-go bags two years ago when the hot breakfast buffet was introduced. This makes absolutely no sense to me. If this service was discontinued two years ago, why was I sent a message on the day of my booking confirmation stating that I would receive the bag? Guests should be able to rely on information provided directly by the hotel. It is extremely frustrating to arrive late at night expecting something that the hotel itself told you would be available, only to then be told that the service has not existed for two years. As a result, I spent the night extremely thirsty, with no way to purchase water and no alternative offered by the hotel. After a long journey and arriving late, this was a very unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, this was not the only disappointment. I was also very unhappy with the cleanliness of the room. There was a very strong smell of mould, which made the room extremely unpleasant to stay in. Spending the night in a room with such a strong mould smell, while also being unable to get something as basic as drinking water, made for a very difficult and uncomfortable night. This was not the experience I expected from a hotel, and I am particularly disappointed by the lack of accurate information and the poor condition of the room. I would not recommend this hotel and, unfortunately, I would not stay here again.
Comfy bed. Breakfast included with plenty of choice. Helpful staff. Clean room and plenty of hot water.
There's nothing I didn't like it suits my purpose perfectly well.
Stayed here as an alternative to Travelodge. It has plenty green spaces and parking spots, so very convenient if you'll be working in the area. Location wasn't bad if you're working nearby. Rooms were big enough and the bed felt comfortable
Facilities are a bit old. Internet isn't too fast. Breakfast wasn't the best either. My room wasn't the best either. Stayed in LG01. Sounds like a good place to put a room but if you want to stay in bed for a while, that won't happen as the room is located near/in front of all services: Laundry, ironing, cleaning so you get loads of noise and people working from early morning.
Location excellent , breakfast fantastic
Had to change from original room L108 as key /lock not working. Also Unfortunately no draught beers , lager, cider or Guinness were available as there was a problem with all of these not sure what the fault was . And wine was pricey at £8 for a small red Merlot .
Very dated, no air con on the rooms
Not much to like here
The rooms are really old, beds uncomfortable. Staff unfriendly and disengaged.
We were meeting friends and needed somewhere reasonable to stay overnight. This was just right, clean and comfortable and close to where we were going.
Difficult to find the correctparkingspace.
Ideal location for activities at the Open University. Large car park and a simple way to register for parking.
Facilities good. Ample parking Friendly helpful staff
Cooked breakfast was tepid warm
Location
With the exception of the receptionist on arrival the staff generally were not very friendly. The walls between rooms were also very thin. We could hear the couple next door at night unfortunately.
Very comfortable room
Nothing I didn't like. It was fine for 1 night stay
Good quiet location, good restaurant and gym swimming pool, good value for money
Carpet not hoovered, blinds didn't shut, no lamp only super bright light, ripping wallpaper and pillows are strange, 1 pillow is not enough but 2 is too much
Nothing much
Funny smells, dated rooms, scaffolding, stated there was a restaurant with menu but only expensive buffet, just very dated
The whole stay was as always brilliant. The staff were so careful with my daughter's medical needs, the chef even came to speak to us when we arrived! They are absolutely brilliant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area, I can't fault it
Nothing at all, we wouldn't stay anywhere else
Access to swimming pool, steam and sauna.
Unable to close bedroom window, hair on shower wall, generally appears run down, stains on carpet, TV remote not working. Restaurant £22 for dinner, limited options.
Staff on arrival were very helpful and friendly, quick check in, breakfast was good, catered for our dietry requirements.
Carpets in the room were dirty and damp, smell of cigarettes in a non smoking room. Drinks from the bar were over priced and tasted old, bits in the coke and flat beer.
Decent hotel for the price paid, good facilities, fairly decent room, generally clean
The location is a bit far from everything, expensive for dinner, hard to find everything as it all looks the same
Was easy to find and check in
It was really noisy, the walls are really thin and could hear people messing around in the hallways for ages from an event that was going on, my partner didn’t sleep. The decor is really dated and although the price was cheap there is a lot more modern hotels as the same price out there.
The staff were friendly, helpful and polite .
The layout of the building, long walk to rooms . The room was small dark and limited natural light during the day, dated . The hot breakfast was basic not much to choose from and not tasty
Staff were helpful and friendly, we enjoyed using the pool.
The room was basic and decor was outdated. We stayed in the middle of a heat wave and only one window would open so the room was very hot.
Location
The stairs were not working the whole weekend and the long walk to go to the reception for breakfast
Gym swimming and other facilities are in the different building
Everything about the accommodation
It’s ideally situated for work meetings at the Open University. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The decor is a little tired. Signage around the property is poor and it’s easy to get lost. The dining is extremely limited - for dinner you are forced to pay 22 GBP for a 3-course option. There is no way to get a lighter option. On the second night of my stay there was a large church group meaning that much of the fruit and salad bar was empty in the evening and the next morning there were huge queues at breakfast.
Great welcome by staff
The breakfast when it's a buffet breakfast you don't expect to be limited on what you can and can't have. Paying £335 for 2 nights with breakfast included
The breakfast service was particularly disappointing. Although this was advertised as a buffet breakfast, the servers appeared unnecessarily restrictive and overreactive when guests took more than one sausage or more than one fried egg. This created an uncomfortable and embarrassing atmosphere for what should have been a relaxed buffet breakfast experience. We also spoke to the restaurant manager, who was covering the role of hotel manager during our stay. He told us that they “get a lot of complaints because Kents Hill is not a hotel.” We found this concerning because it appeared to be used to explain or minimise the issues we had raised with him. We were also repeatedly given the explanation that the property is a training centre. We do not believe that being a training and conference centre should mean that guests should accept poor cleanliness, inadequate maintenance, excessive noise or a lower standard of accommodation. The overall impression was that the property was not being managed or maintained to the standard we would reasonably expect from accommodation being sold as a hotel stay on Booking.com.
Unfortunately, there were numerous issues during our stay, which together had a significant impact on the experience: The room was not clean to an acceptable hotel standard. The mattress was visibly stained. The carpet was dirty, including areas underneath the bed. The bathtub had visible dirt/staining around the edges. The shower head was dirty. The toilet seat had visible yellow staining. The toilet and bathroom fixtures showed signs of inadequate cleaning. The bathroom ventilation grille was visibly dirty. The sink and bath/shower drains were dirty. The bathroom tap was dirty and showed significant build-up. The mug and spoon provided in the room were dirty. The bathroom bin was dirty. There was dirt and staining around furniture and bedside areas. Some room fixtures and fittings appeared poorly maintained. There were issues with the wall socket/cable and other fittings. The lift was dirty, including the floor and interior. There was considerable noise during the night, including people running through the corridors, screaming and knocking on doors, which disturbed our sleep. There was also significant noise from work being carried out in the garden during breakfast time. A rat was seen in the garden. The advertised/expected spa experience was disappointing. The spa was not actually within the hotel premises but was located in another building. The facility was a busy local Nuffield Health club rather than a dedicated hotel spa, and it was very busy and did not provide the relaxing spa experience we expected. Overall, the standard of cleanliness, maintenance, noise levels and facilities did not match the expectations created when booking or the price paid. The individual issues may appear minor when considered separately, but the cumulative effect was significant and resulted in a very disappointing stay.
Everything
Nothing
Breakfast was good, close to where we needed to go and swimming facilities
Blinds dusty, bed was hard and headboard was hazard. Staff not overly friendly.
The inclusion of all the facilities and food was an excellent addition to our stay. Very comfortable beds and pillows.
Rooms are spotless, if a little basic - but that's what you expect at the price being paid. Some of the people using the car park need to learn to drive, or at least recognise what the significance of a white line is in the setting...but theres still plenty of space in general
Depending on how long you are staying for, but the breakfast is the same every day and the options don't change. That said, you will pay more and get worse in some hotels in MK. Also, its questionable what relevance night club music is at breakfast some days. Minor gripes but still good vfm. Aircon during this summer wouldn't go a miss but windows do open and there is generally a fan.
Hotel was very well kept, lovely facility, nice restaurant / bar facilities with an outdoor seating area.
Wanted two twin rooms, was provided two double rooms. Understandably the hotel was busy due to the event at the MK Bowl so the twins seemed to have been allocated by the time we arrived for check in.
In easy reach of MK Bowl (via taxi, not on foot). Spacious and modern downstairs. Good selection of food for breakfast.
Bedrooms were dated, bath plug didn’t work
Easy parking, good size dining facility and outdoor spaces
Booked two double rooms with 4 adults , Only 1 set of towels per room bath and hand towel
Access to bar, health centre with pool, sauna and steam room
Could do with updating in the rooms, aka better showerheads and tv
Staff were all brilliant and friendly. Particularly reception. Breakfast was pretty good for vegans. Enjoyed steam room and sauna too.
Rooms are as advertised, functional but tired and a bit basic.
Easy to find, room was spacious
Hotel and rooms look dated Staff were not very friendly we asked for an extension to checkout and were told “no” Breakfast was limited to set choice
The staff can’t do enough for you here and are very friendly. it is a great conference venue with good facilities.
The rooms are old and tired and got very hot in hot weather.
Spa although mega pacjed and had to que for jacuzzi, sauna pool was so cold no one entered it. Great breakfast
Tv would not work even after someone came to fix.
Free parking and inclusive breakfast
The hotel was clean and tidy and had everything expected but it is not 'homely'. It is designed as a large training centre so appears to cater for conference delegates rather than passing trade.

The bed is super comfy
Its a very strange place to say the least. I've never been to prison but certainly feel like I experienced this feeling when staying here. The corridors are very strange. Children running about it groups EVERYWHERE and I mean everywhere. I didn't like the fact out of every room in the building the cctv was pointing towards the door of our hotel room , I did think this was extremely odd. The place is extremely run down , needs a lot of TLC!
Decent breakfast
They gave me a key for my room that didn't work so I had to walk all the way back to change it
Quiet
Log in 2 pm but log out at 10 1m next day, less than 24 hours
The location and booking in process is good considering the area. The evening meal option is a bonus but the choice is limited. Better than expected though. Sports facilities and pool are very good if a little overcrowded
Whilst breakfast is generally good, a bit of variety wouldn't go amiss. Sometimes banging Ibiza style music at breakfast can be annoying but not offensive. The windows should all open and not just selected ones in the accommodation.
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean. There was a fan for us to use on the hot night we stayed.
The staff seemed to do the bare minimum to help with queries. The room was so far away from the reception as this is a very big place. There wasn't enough information to find the room easily. We had one bath towel to share. No remote control for the small TV in the room. I had hoped for a swim at the pool as this was part of the reason I chose to stay here only to find that the pool closes at 10pm. The breakfast.. well....what can I say? It was like something from Faulty Towers. No one knew where we were meant to get the plates or mugs etc. Chaos is an understatement! I decided to take two small side plates to the counter to get a cooked breakfast. I asked for 3 boiled eggs as a vegetarian I don't eat most of the other food and as this was all i was going to eat along with a tiny pastry. I was told I could have 1 egg. This place more than tripled their prices for the night due to an event at the Milton Keynes Bowl. This is totally unacceptable although I know many places do this.
Good location
Rooms are very small and swimming pool is only for adults depth of waters is very high
Location
Bathroom, early Sunday conference at 7am.
Bed was comfortable
The cleanliness, was disgusting. Glad i was only there one night. Dust all over, toilet seat not cleaned, shower head hanging off, no remote to tv, windows wouldn't open.
The location, easy to find and plenty of parking The room, clean, well equiped though window a little difficult to open, rooms are quite tiny but has everything needed for a short stay. The breakfast choice The staff are friendly and helpful The pool area, nice place to chill. Eco friendly bin system, good green foot print. Nice bathroom but could do with a few minor repairs to get it up to standard.
The noise from students at 7.30am Small rooms
Comfy bed
The room was filthy and unfortunately found a cockroach on the day I was leaving so great to know I’ve slept there all weekend. Won’t be returning.
Friendly staff. Decent food. Comfortable room. EV charging available. Tea and coffee in room. Proper key operated deadlock on the bedroom door.
No air conditioning. I took my fan though. No fob for the accomodation entrance (could exit), had to enter through main entrance.
Staff were largely friendly, initially...
There was a large conference group who were also at Kent's Hill at tue same time as my stay. The kitchen staff were unable to manage the demands of having a group of this size. As a result, there was a queue of about 70 people when I went down to breakfast one day. I returned later, by which the food availability was severely limited. The food I was offered from the hot breakfast was also severely rationed - for instamce, i was given only one sausage. When i asked for more, i was told "we are not allowed". Not what I expect when I am paying the same as other guests, who clearly had had more. My first morning, before the large group arrived, there were also pastries available, and the juice machine was stocked. Neither was the case on the other two mornings. By the end of our three day stay, we saw a substantial decline in the pleasantries of staff service... they became less well mannered, and much more forgetful. I suspect this was stress, probably due to the sheer volume of guests. But a venue of this size should be better managed to handle this.
Gym
Reception does not pas messages on I always have early check in .and a late check out as I work nights .I was double booked for some reason and I'm still waiting to be compensated.
Ample parking and v good breakfast
Poor maintenance, no a/c and windows that pivot to a max of 4 inches so boiling, evening meal very poor and expensive at £22 for a basic buffet. Great if you want 3 meals but for a burger or pizza that way too much on a buffet style plate.
The fact there’s access to the swimming pool and easy to deal with dinner
Lack of fans or air con considering the weather being as bad as it is
The spa facilities were lovely, you have access to the Nutfield Health which is right outside but they fail to tell you that when checking in, you kind of have to find out yourself + they don't provide spa towels, you have to collect at reception.
We checked in and we felt like the receptionist didn't want to make the time for us, he was speeding through the information and didn't really give us the time of day, they when I asked for a second key because there was two people on the booking, it was met with a strange attitude as if it was odd that I asked for a second key. The breakfast was okay... we was told we was only allowed one of everything and you was only allowed one plate, so one hashbrown, one egg, even asking for veggie sausages seemed like a big ask for some reason. The housekeeping didn't change the bedsheets once, only took out the bin and didn't replace the toilet paper at all. We could tell the bedsheet hadn't been changed because we accidentally dropped food on the duvet and we asked if we could change it, he went into the room whilst we were at the spa, came back and the stain was still there.
the Bath
that i could only have 1 kind of egg at breakfast as i wanted fried and scrambled due to the importance of my protein intake
Good breakfast, nice staff
Sheets clean and good towels in the bathroom. No plug but the bedside cabinet that was accessible to charge my phone or plug in a fan. Plugs on the other side of the bed but no bedside cabinet. A very large wardrobe instead. Decor was looking a little tired in the bathroom
That the hotel was a 5 min drive from the retail park.
The breakfast made me feel unwell and we were given only one towel per room had to buy one for my partner to use
breakfast was ok. room could be cleaner. not as nice as it appeared on the website
bed moved, no iron in room, could hear people next door, expected more, breakfast tastelesss
Good location
Rooms didn’t feel that clean ie hair in bathroom floor was dirty. Man in charge in morning was rude
Has a nice outdoor area
The room had poor soundproofing - could hardly sleep cause I could hear clearly the people next door or above and I don't think they were particularly loud. Bathroom has a 2 tap sink... Carpet was disgustingly dirty, lots of dust, the whole room/bathroom was just not clean and very outdated. I paid 200 as it was a busy period and just needed somewhere to sleep but it was a mistake and I should've just travelled back home even if it took hours. Breakfast was ok
Very good

4years ive stayed here never any problems staff an service amazing
Check out times lil too early
Nothing about it they give some random man my room key no cameras on the landing to go the rooms nothing anything could of happened to me and my mate
We met him that day he knew us off the train and got a key from staff whilst we was still at reggae land and absolutely appalling behaviour anything could of happened to me and my friend as he was in our room having a shower I will be taking it further as they put my life in danger after we left and they give him a key to my room like wtf
Excellent clean
Nothing
Room , loxation
Full English breakfast was served by staff . The food seemed to be under heat lamps. The food wasn't off a hot plate therefore it was only warm @ best
Bed was comfortable. A taxi journey to the National Bowl (don't walk it) or £6 on a lime scooter or bike to the National Bowl.
Poor experience trying to find the reception area from the car park. I went into a building through a side door and there was little to no sign posts for main reception and no-one to help me. I needed a fast check in as I had a taxi ordered. When I found the reception, I was given directions to my room, but could not find it - I was not told it was on the first floor. I headed back to reception (miles away down blank corridors) to get assistance. There was a phone on the first reception desk that I found saying we're away, please call other reception, no-one picked up the phone. They need a lot more signage and some different looks in their corridors to help with way finding. There was a lot of noise outside my room so I struggled to get to sleep. Breakfast was plentiful but poor quality. The light switches were behind a pillow on the bed which is very odd and I had to call reception to find them. I checked out and walked across to the Nuffield leisure centre, but was told they didn't provide towels, so went back to the hotel to get one from reception. What a messy set up! The health centre is tired looking in the female changing areas, the showers and inside the lockers are rusty. Facilities are good though. The floors needed to be mopped a lot more. I paid £140 and was expecting something a lot better. Would not stay here again.
Staff were helpful, breakfast was plentiful
Hotel is ok for an evening but not fancy - similar to a student halls campus. Rooms are small and basic accessed by long winding corridors.
Location to the venue we were attending
On arrival we felt like the instructions to find the room was not clear which resulted us going to the wrong room (and embarrassingly trying the key) we then found the right block to go to, but once again the signage did not seem clear and we couldn't find the lift. We asked other guest and they helped us find our room which we had to carry our bags etc up the stairs. The room itself was small and really should not be advertised for 2 ppl. The bathroom sink area was dirty or Stained and the TV did not seem stable on the wall in the corner where it was. Windows were high up and had to climb on chair to open and we had difficulty finding main light switch which we found behind one of the pillows on the bed (on the wall). The room was not sound proof and we could hear absolutely every noise, door banging, talking etc from the corridor area and other rooms. The morning after there were work men working on the building once again right outside our room (scaffolding was up) and we were woken up by this i believe it was just after 8am. I expressed all this to the receptionist when checking out and if you have work being done on the rooms or near them you should advise guests or simply not hire out the rooms involved as this added to our unpleasant stay. Finally would be really helpful on arrival or in the room of you had WiFi details (although free to join) and breakfast timings as for someone like myself and my friend with medical conditions, brain fog kicks in and hard to remember when you are just told information with no written details. Breakfast was ok for the price but overall the room was extremely overpriced for what we had paid and would be grateful if you could look into escalating this and providing a refund. Thank you
It was close to the venue I was attending
The shower was insufficient. The water would either be scolding hot or Luke warm. The bathroom sink was filthy the taps were full of limescale. The room was tiny you could just about walk around the bed.
The on-site car parking and gym were a plus, and the included breakfast was good, with a nice selection of options. The room was a reasonable size, and the traditional key system was a nice, quaint touch. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would happily stay here again
The soundproofing could be improved, as noise from people coming and going in the corridor could be heard quite clearly. Only one key was provided, which wasn’t particularly convenient. The carpets throughout the hotel are also very dated and heavily stained, so would benefit from being replaced
No air con
When we arrived the staff were happy and helpful. We checked into one room but I purchased x2 rooms. Got to the room which was only one bed, went back to reception and they were really helpful and gave us the key to the second room. No issue at all. The room was nice, very clean. The breakfast was really nice and the service was great as they serve the hot breakfast for you. Really tasty. There were spa facilities which we didn't use unfortunately. Nice garden area outside. We used an uber to get to where we needed to go. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing
Breakfast.
Couldn't open the window. Very dirty bathroom
Huge car park, easy check in, breakfast was quite nice. Not far from venue
Room was small, no fridge, very loud with it being fully booked. Not enough sockets. Needs updating. We paid nearly 2k for three rooms for three nights
very friendly & helpful
everything
Bar was nice.
Rats outside in the courtyard walking around. Dirty bath with black marks looked like burn marks. Light on mirror in bathroom broken. Blinds dirty full of dust. Stained carpets throughout the room, very dirty.
The breakfast
The inflated price because of the weekend event
this has never happened to me before: I have worked in tourism all my life and have been to thousands of hotels, not everything was always as expected, but here they surpassed everything with breakfasts in the form of rationing: my son wanted eggs and ham for breakfast, he got 2 eggs and 2 slices of ham with difficulty, I took 1 small sausage and 1 piece of toast bread for starters and when I wanted to add 3 sausages, I was told that I could only have one! I must say that I do not drink coffee, tea or juice, I did not have anything else and did not want to have anything else ... I asked the reception if this was normal and was told to email the manager (who the receptionist had previously discussed it with in the next room) ... so if you do not want to eat in the form of "rationing", do not come here ...
For the money we paid this hotel was fantastic for what we needed for, work. Breakfast was lovely.
It is a big property, but it’s a conference centre, so what do people expect????
Dust everywhere in the room, cleanliness was disgusting
How dirty the room was
There's was bug's in bed
Bugs
Breakfast was really really good. Enjoyed especially the grilled tomato which was very tasteful. Would love to know the recipe
Would appreaciate if the juices were cold. Instead they were very very hot. And also change the drinking water. It tasted like poison
Okey
Rooms were small , no fridge or iron facilities
The staff were excellent, and the service was good and efficient, no big ques gor booking in and breakfast ,the food was also very good
No surveillance for the happening in hotel corridors, we had a rowdy group knocking our door in the middle of the night making noises. Also although its r written no smoking inside we had people smoking in corridors and smoke drifting in uor room being asthmatic that had me wheezing all night. Try having a no smoking section in your hotel were people can enjoy your hospitality 100%.
So bad, wasn't treated well, rooms eas ok,but so noisy. Not a good sleep.
Everything so messy and disorganised, bad management, did complain but told to email.

Breakfast was cold, location was okay. Staff i spoke to were nice. Free parking was a bonus
There was cobwebs in our room, shower was hot one minute then cold the next, crockery was dirty, cobwebs & spiders on the stairs and surrounding areas, i was at breakfast for 7.10am and the breakfast was cold
Close proximity to national bowl
There was a musky smell. My bed had someone else’s hair all init. The toilet was rubbish had to be flushed 3-4times just for it to go down. The cleanliness and hygiene was terrible there were cobwebs over the mugs in our room that we are supposed to drink out of.
Basic bedrooms, a little dated, but did the job for a couple of nights
A little old fashioned
Le spa
