Winterton Country Lodge @ Rose Cottage

Beautiful property well lite up and lovely comfortable rooms. Close to a little town winterton if u need any bits and them not to far from all the different places in the drakensberg mountains. Would definately recommend if u r lookinf for a county place

Camere nuove, pulite e spaziose, spazi comuni accoglienti, ottima colazione. Parcheggio interno (all’aperto ma dentro la struttura)

Indispensabile la macchina (ma dipende più dalla zona che dalla struttura). Le camere hann” odore di chiuso”, potrebbe essere utile un profumatore per ambienti.

Friendly owner, great cat! Breakfast pack was thoughtful and most welcome.

Air-conditioner / heater was not working properly, and we arrived back from dinner too late to get it fixed - cold night.

The hospitality was great and the location was peaceful. It was only an overnight but a good stop. The heated blanket was a nice touch (if it worked). The bed was comfortable. The house kitties were cute

Discomfort of the bed. I could feel that it is combined single beds. Could have bought queen mattress instead. Aircon ddnt work,. First day riom ddnt have hot water.

Stunning spot, rooms are beautiful and clean and comfortable, peaceful setting with a beautiful pecan forest as a backdrop for a lovely sundowner on your own private patio- the ladies who make and serve breakfast are just the loveliest and the breakfast is top notch. Highly recommended this place for your visit to Winterton!

It was clean and well positioned.

We didn’t see any staff only the lady serving breakfast and we had to call her from the back. We also had to ask her what was on the menu and then there was nobody to give our key to at reception or give us the gate key

The owner really went the extra mile to make us comfortable. He even made a fire for us in the lounge and set up the coffee station. (This was after hours)

I always enjoy stating here and it is definitely my first choice

two biggest issue. 1. new paint smell is really an issue. you have to open the door and keep using the fan to get rid of it 2. shower room sink is not working. water can spread everywhere in the bathroom. it won't dry even the next day

房间4号是新房，装修油漆味道大到没法住、一整晚开窗开空间开门睡觉的，但味道还是很大，还有一个问题浴室地板偏高，洗澡后无法排水，全湿透了

Breakfast was English continental and had a lovely choice of cold cereals, a selection of fresh juices, a nice coffee machine and the warm breakfast was nicely done to exact requests.

The location is great, close to but far enough out of town. People are amazing. Place was clean and neat. Fishing was great.

Everything. The quiet surroundings, location is ideal, it's central to almost all areas of Drakensberg. Staff and owners are very friendly and helpful.

32" from far is too small. Perhaps a 40" would be nice.

We had a lovely time at the Winterton Country Lodge. The host, Jeunesse, provides a most charming welcome. The property itself radiates charm. And we had the largest and coziest unit, with our own porch swing and lots of space inside. Lots of elements showed attention to details, including many European plugs, a teapot, comfy armchairs in the common areas. The property is located out of town, which is OK, as you would need a car to get to most destinations anyway. The grounds are extensive, with a lake, a wooded area, and nice landscaping.

Everything was fabulous. Just to make a suggestion here, there were some muddy areas in the parking lot: maybe a bit of gravel would help to keep mud off the guests' feet. But this was a very wet season and the amount of rain was probably much more than usual.

It is a special place, like a fairy land. I enjoyed the stay at the Rose Cottage very much.

Ich hatte ein außergewöhnlich bequemes und ruhiges Zimmer, an einem kleinen See der zur Unterkunft gehört. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, gutes Frühstück, es gab nichts zu bemängeln.

It was clean, it was beautiful very beautiful.

I liked everything about the property. What i did not like was the way that white man addressed us I think he hates black people or he was in a bad mood. I don’t know if he is a owner or worker but he is the receptionist husband.

The accommodation was amazing, comfy, cosy, lovely décor. Everything was provided for us. My brother's accommodation was perfect for him too. It was lovely to have the choice of either sitting out in the swing chair at our place, sitting up for a meal under shelter together. Or popping around to my brother's cottage and sitting on the verandah, watching and listening to the variety of birds at the damn. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Especially Sipwe and Jeanise ( sorry not sure how to spell them). It was a luxury to have our clothes laundered and ironed, thank you. The setting was very pretty and peaceful. Thank you :)

We can't think of anything really and feel a bit picky but a light over the central area would have been helpful.

Great B n B to visit Winterton Area for Bird Sanctuary and Hot Air Ballooning. Room was very spacious and private and the property was in a great location. Highly recommend staying here for a short trip to Winterton/Drakensberg area. Lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by one night :)

Our room was some distance to the car park. A trolley or evwn a wheelbarrow would have made transporting luggage to the room easier

Das Rose Cottage liegt sehr gemütlich in einem kleinen Wald. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist perfekt!

Das Zimmer ist etwas hellhörig.
