Very friendly staff and the pool was amazing!

Maar èèn nacht hier verbleven met onze kinderen van 2 en 3 maar een heerlijk verblijf gehad. Het personeel is vriendelijk, heeft ons naar het strand gebracht en weer opgehaald, en het Sri Lankese ontbijt was echt fantastisch! Zeker een aanrader

Wir (Familie mit zwei Kindern 13, 9) haben das Tree of Life ausgewählt um vor dem Rückflug noch ein bisschen entspannen zu können. Alle Erwartungen haben sich erfüllt. Sehr nettes Personal, ideal ausgestattete Zimmer, die keine Wünsche offen ließen.

We arrived at the Tree of Life after a long flight from the UK, and it was exactly what we needed. Despite arriving quite early, our room was ready and gave us the chance to get some rest. Our boys loved the pool and they had it all to themselves all afternoon. The food was also fantastic…lunch was our first introduction to Sri Lankan food and it did not disappoint. Breakfast was also one of the best, with tasty local options available as well as waffles and pancakes for the kids. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Wir hatten nur für eine Nacht gebucht, um eine Mangrovenbootstour zu machen, was ich an dieser Stelle absolut empfehle! Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und haben uns mit dem eigenen TukTuk zum Strand und zum Restaurant gefahren (welches auch dem Besitzer gehörte und absolut fantastisches Essen bereit hält!) Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und mit Liebe eingerichtet, das "OpenAir" Badezimmer im Natursteinlook war spitze! Ebenso der Pool, der Abends schön beleuchtet war.

Im nachhinein mussten wir für die Fahrten mit dem TukTuk eine Servicegebühr entrichten. Das ist natürlich absolut in Ordnung, aber man hätte das besser vorher einmal erwähnen sollen, auch wenn es (für uns) nichts geändert hätte. Der Strand war trotz Nebensaison und Badeverbot (rote Flagge) eher voll und nicht so schön, wie der Nilaveli Beach z.B.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the pool was clean and just the right size, the breakfast was excellent with multiple options, and the rooms were comfortable and clean.

Honestly nothing to not like about this property, while the location is not directly next to the beach, given it is only a short walk or tuk tuk ride we were able to enjoy a nice ocean swim at Bentota Beach.

Everything - the rooms, the facilities and the breakfast were amazing! By far the best bit was the amazing staff who worked there! They are all legends!!!

Well made chalets, spacious, good amenities and the well set outdoor (closed) bathrooms. It was clean everywhere and spacious.

Nothing major, but the manager was able to iron out an issue once it was raised and sincerely appreciated the concern and was willing to address it. Welcome staff and drink was great! we had a great time in the pool which is also perfect with a nice ambience.

The Tuk Tuk drive took us to a turtle release center where they charged us 5000 rupees per person but the information center at the city told us it cost 2000 rupees per person.

The staff were very accommodating and the place was tidy, quiet and perfect for a decent getaway from the rushes of the cities. We booked two chalets and both were clean, loved the facilities, and enjoyed our stay. We had three of their breakfast options and all three were quite exceptional! Definitely looking forward to going there again next time I'm headed down south!

Pool in the middle of the place, restaurant available, very nice and comfy room, modern bathroom with good style. Loved all of it! Easy to reach, tuktuk is also available at the property. The place also has a very good restaurant near the lake.

A great find! The property is beautiful, so clean, the food is great and the staff are very helpful but unobtrusive. The pool is fantastic. Great value for money.

A very small point, but having a small outside fan attached to the pillar near the outdoor table would be really useful to cool down.

One of the best property in bentota, very quiet, clean, amazing staff.. We came in very early, they gave us rooms early, it's very peaceful.. top notch facilities.. Highly recommended..

The whole complex was magnificent, very clean and tidy. The individual chalets were superb, the showers were stunning. The free tuk tuk rides to the shops etc was a stunning idea. Lovely swimming pool. The breakfasts were a set price where as perhaps the ability to have a couple of pieces of toast would have been nice.

No problems, without hesitation i would certainly recommend this resort for 3/4 days.

This place is amazing, spotless, modern and well maintained. The staff are so helpful and happy and more than willing to run you anywhere in the hotels tuk tuk. The restaurant is not cheap but the quality and quantity of the food is very good. Lovely swimming pool and the room bathrooms are something different. We added an extra night to our stay because of its standard. Don’t hesitate if you are in the area, this is the place to stay.

This place is fabulous! Forget high end resorts. Rooms are great - super wifi, tv, great bathroom- outside waterfall shower. Staff are wonderful! Wonderful place if you just need a retreat.

Struttura nel complesso molto carina, la stanza era pulita ma non era molto grande. Il bagno invece era piuttosto ampio

Purtroppo questo è l’ultimo hotel in cui abbiamo soggiornato durante la nostra vacanza e quindi abbiamo il confronto con le altre strutture che erano davvero eccellenti. Qui ci siamo sentiti molto meno a nostro agio, le informazioni relative ai servizi dell’hotel non erano chiare e alcune non ci sono nemmeno state fornite. Ad esempio, nessuno ci ha detto che ci sarebbe stato il servizio gratuito di Tuk Tuk, lo abbiamo letto nelle recensioni e lo abbiamo chiesto per andare alla spiaggia e a cena in un ristorante vicino alla spiaggia ma non sembravano molto contenti di farlo. Nessuno ci ha detto gli orari della piscina e del servizio Tuk Tuk gratuito. La colazione era sufficiente ma è stata la meno buona e la meno abbondante tra tutte quelle che abbiamo fatto in Sri Lanka, la frutta anche purtroppo non era buona come negli altri posti. Nella colazione era compreso anche uno yogurt ma non ce lo stavano portando; quando lo abbiamo chiesto ci è stato detto che era finito e sono andati a comprarlo. Potevano anche portarci qualcos’altro al posto dello yogurt, non era un problema, solo che avremmo preferito che ce lo dicessero almeno senza far finta di nulla come stavano facendo loro.

So pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We booked it as a quick stop closer to the hotel and didn’t really mind where we stayed and weren’t expecting much. But this place was perfectly clean, everything looked brand new. The room was beautiful and what an amazing bathroom. Really is a beautiful spot.

If you are visiting Bentota this is the place to stay! Forget the big hotels, Tree Of Life is far more special. Located down a small peaceful road with lovely places to eat within walking distance or a few mins tuk tuk ride. There are 6 Villas set in gardens around a lovely pool, inside is beautifully presented, big comfy beds, incredible bathroom & extremely clean. Fridge is always topped up with water, daily fresh towels & cleaning if needed. Breakfast is served in the little restaurant area which is comfortable & once again beautifully presented. Food is cooked freshly each morning, fresh fruit, eggs, pancakes, curry, we tried it all, it was delicious. Staff are friendly, welcoming & work really hard everyday to keep the place clean & tidy. We’ve had a relaxing stay away from the noise we would definitely return.

Veľmi príjemný a ústretový personál, majiteľ aj manažér tiež skvelí. Perfektny, čistý a teplý bazén ideálny pre deti, veľké izby a kúpeľňa s WC, pohodlné postele a čistý areál. Ticho v noci.

Trochu ďalej od hlavnej cesty a pláže (na pláž a späť vás však bezplatne vezmú tuktukom) a občas zo susedstva cítiť dym po pálení lístia, čo ale resort neovplyvní. Rovnaké raňajky sú po pár dňoch už fádne a WiFi je občas slabšia, hlavne keď je veľa hostí, inak v pohode. K bazénu by sa hodili hračky pre deti a zišlo by sa ošetrovať areál proti komárom.

This was the quietest room we had on all our trip. Very comfortable and roomy and the bathroom was incredible.

Such a beautiful place and very peaceful. This was our first stay in Sri Lanka and we are so glad we stayed. The staff are amazing, they organised our transport from airport, organised tuk tuk rides when we needed, made us feel so welcome, cooked amazing food. The service is outstanding. Our room was so lovely, clean, with great air con and view on the pool. Our bathroom was huge and the pool is lovely and warm. Highly recommend and would stay again.

A Bit away from the Main beach, but they provide a free Tuktuk Transport!

Prima ingerichte bungalow (6 stuks) rond een zwembad. Heel aardig personeel. Prima ontbijt en housekeeping! Gratis tuktuk service naar strand en prima restaurant vlakbij. Dorp en strand op 15 minuten loopafstand.

Vrij dicht op elkaar. Enige muggen aan het einde van de middag. Verder geen minpunten.

Staff very welcoming , Neul and his staff were so helpful . Clean , bright , very well maintained property with a pool, onsite cafe/restaurant. Great facilities. Quiet in the evenings which was good .

Staff amazing. Food excellent. Rooms clean with sensational bathrooms! Resort is a collection of 6 cabanas around a pool and restaurant - Small enough to feel special, large enough to feel spacious. There is a nice local shop at the end of the road. River restaurants within walking distance. Everything else a tuk tuk away. Larry can arrange any trip you like, and Neil is always on hand with a big smile to help. All the other staff are equally friendly and accomodating! One of the best places we've stayed in Sri Lanka

Should have stayed longer than 5 nights

Petit havre de paix, la piscine est chouette, et le personnel très agréable.

Персонал очень отзывчивый. Чисто в номере. Каждый день вода и полотенце по желанию. Бассейн чистый. До пляжа возят бесплатно на тук-туке и назад. Предлагают морепродукты. Цена на них не фиксированная, но порции огромные и очень вкусно, по сравнению с ресторанами поблизости.

Минусов мы не нашли. Разве что не дешевое место.

Beautiful resort with excellent design, outdoor bathroom was great. Staff was very attentive and food was great. I loved the free shuttle to the beach. Highly recommend!

Sehr schöne und gepflegte Anlage mit traumhaftem Pool und sehr schöner Dusche unter freiem Himmel (aber mit Insektennetz) im Zimmer. Das Bad ist inshesamz purer Luxus. Viele schöne Palmen im Garten, alles sehr geschmackvoll und stimmig. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es wurde sich gut um uns gekümmert, alle waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gute ruhige Lage, bequeme Betten, guter Wasserdruck und der kostenlose Shuttle Service zum Strand war auch sehr praktisch. Wir können auch das dazugehörige Restaurant empfehlen. Insgesamt lohnt sich der teurere Preis für das was man dafür geboten bekommt.

A nice stay, the accommodation is great. A beautiful bathroom and great rooms. The property is one of the best we’ve stayed in on our 3 week tour of Sri Lanka, a few minor issues below but they could be easily rectified and avoidable for others if they know about them up front.

You’re told that the Tutuk is complimentary and encouraged to use it and then when you arrive at the destination they charge you for it unfortunately. This happened to a few guests when we were staying there, so just make sure you have confirmation of this before travelling. The breakfast that you’re also encouraged to have is not complimentary and is on your bill at the end of your stay. There is no mention of any charge before hand or any prices on the breakfast menu. This requires some clarity.

Wir haben uns als Familie sehr wohl gefühlt. Zimmer schön groß und sauber, toller Pool und sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Kostenloses Tuktuk zum weiten und nicht überlaufenden Strand und als wir einen Krankheitsfall hatten wurden wir sofort zum richtigen Arzt gebracht und vor Ort unterstützt.

Väldigt fina rum. Inredning, toaletter, allt var noga planerat. Poolen var grym för barnfamiljer. Ett helt perfekt ställe !!! Gratis TukTuk till stranden. Personalen var helt fantastiska.

I found out at checkout breakfast wasn’t included but no one had told me that, so they just charged me anyway. Annoying but the breakfast was great!

Tree of Life Bentota was super clean and incredibly comfortable, with genuinely amazing staff who couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was great every morning, the pool was a real highlight, and even the bathroom was spotless and well designed. Having a tuk-tuk on hand to take us anywhere made getting around effortless. We also enjoyed dining at White Tree Restaurant, which was a lovely spot for a relaxed meal. A really easy, welcoming place to stay – highly recommended.

It’s pretty small with daily rooms so be prepared for children - really not an issue at all or a negative for the hotel.

We werden hartelijk ontvangen en voelden ons meteen welkom. Prachtige huisjes en nog mooiere badkamer. Ongelooflijk vriendelijke mensen, die steeds klaarstaan om te helpen met wat dan ook. De eigen tuk tuk bracht ons gratis naar het strand en hun eigen restaurant (white tree), altijd handig

We had an amazing stay. The room was very tastefully decorated and the beds were big and comfortable. Loved the semi outdoor bathroom! The pool was very clean and enjoyable to cool off in. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a great start to our vacation!

Very minor but some hooks in the bathroom and bedroom would be useful to hang things on.

We landed here just after a long 10h flight and it’s such an oas. It is calm, clean, nice pool and absolutley wonderful staff. A big and much needed plus is the free tuc tuc service since the hotel is a bit outside. Breakfast was also great with several options.

Pleasant small resort with nice pool and rooms.

We were let down by the tuk tuk availability and the very poor communication with the on-site manager in this regard. Property management did their best to fix this situation once they were advised.
