Das Haus steht in einer wunderschönen ruhigen Gegend! Wir fühlten uns von Beginn an sehr willkommen. Margereth hat uns herzlich begrüsst und war stets bemüht, dass es uns gut geht! Wir waren mit dem Bus unterwegs. Sie hat uns zur Bushaltestelle gefahren sowie zum Shuttle zum Slieve League. Sie hat uns fantastisches Guinness-Brot und Shortbread gebacken. Das Haus hat alles, was es für einen Aufenthalt braucht. Wir haben auch selber gekocht - die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Es muss einem bewusst sein, dass das Haus ca. 25 Fussminuten vom Bus und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten entfernt ist. Für uns war das aber kein Problem.

El alojamiento estaba en muy buen estado y era bonito, la cama era cómoda; muy equipado, se accede fácil, hay donde dejar el coche, el entorno es precioso y la anfitriona fue muy amable, nos dejó unos dulces caseros.

Very warm hospitality and the delicious treats from Margaret. We have had a really relaxing holiday in this peaceful lodge and enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of the country, including a swim at Silverstand beach, a walk up Sliabh Liag and a picnic on Maghera beach.

I loved that as soon as you walk in you can see the love the host has put into this beautiful property. She has an amazing eye for detail and left nothing to want for. It was so quiet and peaceful and will definitely be back.

How clean and relaxing it was

The lodge was amazing, so comfortable and quiet. The homemade Guinness bread and shortbread was amazing and everything was taken care of to the finest detail. Margaret was so lovely and welcoming. The area itself is amazing and one of Irelands hidden gems. Can't wait to come visit again 😍

Location

The place is ideal for a weekend away from all the social media and people if you need that. There is a very good wi-fi but no phone coverage what We really liked. Warm and cozy space, the place it self it’s not exposed to the winds and storms so it’s nice and peaceful no matter the weather.

Margaret was so responsive from start to finish, and the lodge itself was spotless, cosy, and incredibly peaceful. It’s stocked with absolutely everything you could need for cooking, and the thoughtful little extras in the bathroom — right down to face wash and moisturiser — really made it feel special. Margaret also left homemade Guinness bread and shortbread biscuits for us, which were absolutely gorgeous and definitely didn’t last long! Having them with a cup of tea in the evening was the perfect end to the day. It was such a beautiful place to wake up to, with only the sheep there to say hello. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better spot for a little pregnancy getaway. I can only imagine how dreamy it would be in the summer lying outside on the loungers with the sun out and a BBQ going — we’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely spotless and had everything you would need.

We absolutely loved the warmth and generosity we felt from Margaret and how much effort she put into making our stay as comfortable as possible. She was extremely attentive and responsive and we are so glad we chose Dolmen Lodge to stay in. The accommodation itself is fantastic and surrounded by stunning views and is easily accessible to sights and landmarks nearby. Thank you so much for an incredible stay! (Also a special mention to your shortbread - it is sooo delicious!!)

The cabin which is located in a beautiful location was well equiped with all modern essential facilities ,it was soo neat and tidy and even smelled so nice. The host was such a friendly woman who welcomed us with baked treats. Overall had a calm and lovely break. The drive towards the cabin itself is soo scenic.

The location itself is wonderful and has all you could wish for. Perfect hideout for two people that enjoy the seclusion of the location while not giving up on perfect comfort. And meeting Margaret is simply wonderful, too - you are such a kind host and know very well what your guests want and wish for. Thank you!

Apart from the sheep being to shy to cuddle with? Nothing!

What a lovely a cosy place with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The lodge was immaculate and the decoration was beautiful. Margaret is an excellent host and her home baked bread and cookies were delicious! Excellent location with nearby beaches and many locations to visit. We were actually very lucky as the weather was beautiful and had the opportunity to relax outside in the terrace. Great stay in Donegal and we'll be back whenever we have an opportunity.

We loved the lodge from the moment we stepped in. It was really well done to such a high standard! We loved the attention to detail from the decor to the fresh baked goods, basic food supplies, the iron and toiletries. We kept noticing little details through the few days stay. The welcome information book was really good. Margaret was an excellent host and really cared for our needs.

There was nothing we didn't like. It rained for most of our trip which didn't bother us.

Host Margaret was top class. Place was absolutely spotless with homebakes to die for.

That we could not have stayed longer

A perfect place to stay. The lodge is lovely and cosy and provides everything you need for a relaxing stay. Margaret, the owner, is an exceptional host: friendly, efficient and generous with her provision of home-baked goods. The location is ideal for visiting south Donegal with nearby beaches, headlands and historic sites. It was peaceful but easily accessible.

We loved everything about the property peaceful location. Margaret the owner was a brilliant host we especially enjoyed the Guinness bread and biscuits made by her. She gave us plenty of information about where to go in the area too.

Dolmen Lodge is thoughtfully appointed and cozy with an absolutely lovely host, who added warmth, attention to detail and baking skill to our visit! The location is like no other in its secluded beauty. We will always treasure memories of our stay.

Lodge was beautiful, peaceful with lovely views

Everything was great. The owners were helpful, we got homemade baked goods, it's very nice. Charming cottage and beautiful surroundings.

Host was really wonderful. She made sure we had a smooth check in. Location was really beautiful nestled between the mountains and surrounded by sheep. The sound of the rain hitting the cabin roof was a bonus. Nice warm shower and access to Netflix too!

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay in Dolmen Lodge, with stunning views on the mountains and sea. Margaret was very kind and helpful.

There was no lack or imperfection to mention. Everything was just perfect.

The lodge is very comfortable and cozy and the owners thought of everything you could possibly need and have it all organized while still creating the feeling of brightness and space. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and they welcomed us with delicious home made cookies and Guiness bread!

If you want to eat out there isn't much option in walking distance.

The Dolmen Lodge was an excellent place to stay on our trip to Ireland. The lodge is beautiful inside and out and very close to the coast. The hosts are wonderful and provide homemade bread and cookies as a welcome to the lodge. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Would love to back and stay when we come back to Ireland.

Dolamen Lodge is in a very rugged yet beautiful location.. it is far from other touristy locations with all the amazing scenery of Cliffs of Moher. Unfortunately we came down with horrible head colds and were unable to take in much of the local attractions.

We loved staying at Dolmen Lodge Margaret has filled the lodge with everything to make your stay comfortable. The lodge was spotless!

We recently spent 4 days at Dolmen Lodge and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the stunning Atlantic coastline. It is within easy distance of Donegal, Slieve League cliffs, Silver strand beach and many other walks and bays, and the cabin itself has lovely views of the surrounding hills- and even the sea. The inside is cosy without feeling cramped, is modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable and has everything needed for a relaxing break. The cabin has been kitted out to a very high standard and it is evident that much thought and care has gone into making it a really lovely space with all the extra touches and details included.

The homemade Guinness bread is exceptionally delicious. Margaret came by to say hello. All the instructions and recommendations left were easy to follow and very thoughtful. (PS: drop by the egg nest to buy some fresh eggs for the perfect breakfast). If you're looking for the perfect cozy stay with your loved one, this place would simply do!

The homemade Guinness bread and homemade cookies were gifted to us by the host upon arrival and were delightful. I could not fault our stay at the lodge. I was thoroughly impressed. Plus, the host, Margaret, was as friendly as you could hope for, making us feel very welcome. Plus, the lodge was nothing short of perfect, we both loved the decor, it had everything you could possibly need for your stay, and the cleanliness of the entire location was impeccable.

What a lovely, cozy place to stay. Very comfortable, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Perfect for a relaxing, away from it all holiday.

Dolmen Lodge is the perfect spot to get away from it all. It is ideally situated in a beautiful area and comes with an amazing sea view. We couldn’t believe how well furnished it was and the bed was so comfortable. Margaret was a fantastic host - the homemade bread and shortbread were a lovely touch. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back!!!
