Beautifully decorated., friendly and personable hosts. Cute private outside terrace Everything wet needed was there. So many books to read and amuse us. Comfortable bed, couches and space to breathe. Add a few board games and I might move in! It was the perfect retreat

Great communication and a very comfortable stay

We had a lovely stay at Blue Gum for a week. The property was super clean and comfy, with all the things we needed! Madeleine is an amazing host and went above and beyond for us to have a great stay. Warkworth is a lovely place with some beautiful scenery and lovely community. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the area!

The property was beautiful, well designed with a luxury feel. The bed was great, hot shower and warm towels. The outlook from the lounge was private and green. Kitchen was well equipped. Would highly recommend this property and Madeleine the host.

We knew the property had no tv but think that adding a tv would be a positive. Also a net curtain across the main window into the private garden would give some privacy.

Beautiful and compact, but at the same time, spacious and airy. Loved the kitchen and the bed was so comfy!!

Quiet but close to town and surrounding places, Matakana, Goat Island experiences etc. Everything that I could want was there. No TV, but that's something I liked.

I forgot to take my own pillow (which I always do) and found the pillows a bit uncomfortable.

Perfect location for us. Comfy & cozy spot with all the facilities we needed. The hosts were responsive and gave us all the info needed before arriving. 10/10 experience!

Great location, easy access to lots of interesting places nearby, peaceful and quiet, having the owner and their family living on site made it more special. Very well appointed kitchen which is important for us. Comfy bed and very pleasant living space. Madeleine was very welcoming and friendly and keen to make our stay a positive and memorable one. This is the second time we have stayed at Blue Gum, we enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

I had to get under the bed to plug in the bedside light to a multi board, needed a kitchen utensil to reach it. Hair dryer supplied but no power point anywhere near a mirror. No TV, but apparently that’s in the listing.

Very quite, lovely garden. Very well kitted out. Lots of books and magazines to look at, with no TV.

A board game or card game wouldn't go astray, but overall, just lovely.

It's a cosy and well equipped place. We knew that there is not tv but fine with us. The bedroom warmed up nicely with the wall mounted heater. Perfect for a short stay for two.

Blue Gum Stay is a lovely cottage well appointed with nice fittings. It was quiet and sunny. The perfect place to stay.

Very tastefully kitted out accomodation and great hospitality.

The host(ess) gave really clear instructions and communicated well, we bumped into her at the gate and she was friendly and hospitable. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and nice. The location is peaceful and spacious, and fresh eggs were a nice touch (unfortunately we didn't have the time to make use of them, but it was appreciated!). At this time of year, we made use of the heating which kept us very toasty. Being able to bring our dog at no extra cost was also wonderful.

There is no TV - but apart from missing a bit of background noise it made us talk to eachother which isn't the worst thing in the world!

We loved the homely calm ambience of this delightful cottage. Everything was just as described. Immaculately clean; all that we needed was there; very comfortable bed; close to amenities; easy access and lovely helpful host.

Only met Jono and he was a nice bloke.Place was well equipped , quiet and private.

Outside could do with a good tidy up, but he’s obviously a really busy boy who hasn’t got enough hours in the day. No TV either which is unusual but not a deal breaker for us.

This homestay is very private and is in quiet location. It is spotless and comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed. The hostess was very friendly and made us very welcome.

There is no TV, it wasn't included in the amenities but we hadn't noticed this. For us it didn't matter at all.

Lovely homely apartment. Lot's of space. Two comfy sofas and a good size dining table. Spacious kitchen that was very well equipped Shower was a little bit small but perfectly useable. Lot's of books, if we had been there longer it would have been nice to read some of them. Nice quiet location but still close to town and local attractions.

Great location, unit was large and well equipped. Had bacon and eggs with the eggs still warm from the chickens! Only downside was the shower cubicle was very tiny.

The apartment we very large with separate kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen had extensive and excellent facilities, which unfortunately we did not use fully. We drove into town and ate at a very good Italian restaurant. Parking was outside the apartment and moving heavy luggage to and from the car was not a problem, The only small issue was the location, which is a challenging walk up and down hills into the centre of Warkworth where the restaurants and shops are. Wifi was very good.

Very quiet and private. Hosts Madeliene and Johnno were very approachable and helpful. There was plenty of room and great facilities. The location was handy to where we needed to be during our stay.

No laundry facilities. Otherwise, we liked everything.

Clean, cozy, love the books!

We had a lovely stay with our small dog and 12 week old baby, the place had everything we needed and Madeleine was very accomodating when we were a little late leaving in the morning! Beautifully kept and easy to find location.

It was a very cute, decorated well and a modern unit. It’s attached to the main house but you have your own entrance and garden space with seating. Kitchen was well equipped with oven , microwave, fridge, kettle. Bed was very comfortable but a rather tall bed to climb on to haha.

Shower cubicle was so tiny. One of those corner unit triangular shaped.

Modern with everything you need. Heating/cooling systems with cooking facilities. Nice outdoor space to chill out, with a beach vibe ❤️

It was comfortable, clean, and had a good amount of space. The bed and couch were comfy. There is a lot of natural light and lighting in the rooms. The kitchen had a variety of appliances: a hob, a kettle, a microwave, and an oven.

The pillow was too hard; the stay would've been more comfy if there were a couple more options.

The connecting door could do with a visible sliding lock on the visitors side to reassure it won’t be use accidentally.

Liked everything

Spacious lounge area and comfortable bed. Walking distance to The Grange which has many food outlets. Warkworth village centre is also walkable but incredibly hilly. I met the owner one afternoon and she was very pleasant.

I missed the part in the reviews mentioning the lack of TV and Microwave but this wasn’t an issue as I had technology with me that I could watch tv on and there is an oven for those that want to cook.

A very clean, tidy, comfortable and nicely decorated unit, we felt at home right from the start. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything you needed to self cater successfully. The living space was light, bright, airy and had pleasant views outside. Comfortable seating & bed, a modern bathroom and easy parking - ticked all our boxes. A good location - easy access to Warkworth and the surrounding area. In short we very much enjoyed our week there.

No microwave or a way to make fresh coffee. Would have been great to have a coffee plunger. No power point in the bathroom.

The location was perfect for visiting Kawau Island and Warkworth. The place was spotlessly clean and the host was easy to communicate with.

The only feedback I have is that I couldn't find a way to plug in the hairdryer in the bathroom or bedroom. Ended up drying my hair in the kitchen.

Curtains were closed on arrival (we arrived later in the afternoon) and heat pump was on. Very warm and cosy when it was cold and chilly outside.

Just an observation but not an immediate worry - theres no TV and washing machine or laundry. However there are several laundrettes in town. My stay wasn’t long enough to need access to a laundry facility or watch tv.

Very comfortable - a big apartment space. Lovely outlook into a stunning lush lawn and trees, sunny. Quiet and private. Homely, also with books, mags and games. For me the location was excellent and it is close to town. Places recommended to eat were really great. Couldn't find a TV - but that wasn't a biggy for me as there were good Wifi connection for a laptop. Madeline was an excellent communicator and this helped the whole process be very easy - thanks for a great stay Madeline

Would have been great to have more than 1x black tea teabag & some milk. I read in red book re heating appliances - but couldn't find these though before I left spotted a heat pump :-)
