We loved the solitude and quiet, the walking trails, the variety of the surrounding countryside terrain and nearby beaches.
Everything!!!! This place is just perfect, very clean and very beautiful and definitely will be back in the future
The property was quiet, beautiful and comfortable. We loved the courtyard cat!

Beautifully decorated with quality all round! Super comfy beds.
Only tiny niggle… TV/internet limited speed therefore hard to throw Netflix etc to TV.
Stunning location in a beautiful stone building. Accommodation was superior, very comfortable and peaceful.

Our one-bedroom apartment was gorgeous and peaceful—the only sound came from the garden’s water features. The photos don’t quite do justice to all the spaces, so our expectations were exceeded. My sensitive skin was grateful for the organic products, the kitchen is great quality, and the open-plan lounge space is bright and comfy, with thoughtful coffee-table books. The online picture of the bedroom (that has since been removed) was one of the main selling points for me, and reality didn’t disappoint. The outdoor seating area was so lovely—I only wish we’d had more time to spend in it.
It's perhaps a matter of preference, but—olive oil and condiments aside—I would rather not see any leftover, opened food from previous guests in the cupboards. We greatly appreciated the gifted treats (bread, butter, coffee, fresh OJ, etc.) though.
The laundry facilities were brilliant. The peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings made the last 3 days of our holiday to Ireland special. Thank you for the milk and breakfast items, greatly appreciated.
The attention to detail and added comfort of bread, milk and coffee etc on arrival. Very well located for local attractions
Took a while to find, need to use google maps and postcode.
It was superiorly decorated spotlessly clean and very comfortable

Quiet, clean and upscale accommodations. Our hosts were friendly and informative. Although the location seems remote, it is literally 15 mins to many historic sites and a short distance to excellent dinning and shopping
Our visit came to an end…
Alles für ein kleines Frühstück war bereits im Kühlschrank Solche Betten möchte ich auch gerne zuhause haben 😊 GASTFREUNDSCHAFT wird groß geschrieben
It was very stylish and clean😍 Valerie was lovely and left some essentials, bread, butter jam and tea , coffee , milk and juice❤️
Nothing it was beautiful and peaceful x
Excellent accommodation ,excellent clean and so comfortable Absolutely everything that we needed was provided Courtyard was fabulous Woodland walks fabulous We will be going back again soon 😀
Set in beautifully converted Georgian stable block our apartment was charming and very comfortable. Our room had a lovely king sized bed and everything we needed. Our hosts were very helpful and offered helpful tis on where to go and what to see.
Superb location. Magnificent accommodations.
great location, quiet, calm and peaceful. Modern updated and well appointed apartment. Beautiful jam, bread, milk and tea available. A terrific location for exploring the Boyne Valley and all its treasures. Thank you. I would highly recommend this place.
The bed in the smaller bedoom is quite hard and lumpy.
This quaint and charming property is located in a picturesque part of Ireland, close to Slane Castle and Newgeange, a Stone Age (Neolithic) UNESCO world heritage site that should not be missed. We absolutely loved our stay. Accommodations were very clean and well appointed with a delicious breakfast of fresh, Irish bread and jam with juice, coffee, and tea. One unexpected surprise was having access to laundry facilities. The property was once the horse stables for Townley Manor, and the place has been converted with every modern convenience with a courtyard that is lovely and quiet. The owners were friendly and accommodating and even showed us how to access nearby walking trails. We absolutely would recommend this vacation rental if you are wanting to stay in a place that has been beautifully renovated with a historical feel. Perfect for two couples. Loved having access to separate bathrooms. The beds were luxurious and comfortable. We highly recommend this property!
Extra hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom and a luggage stand in the bedrooms would have been helpful.
What a lovely place! We so enjoyed the beautiful setting, the layout and thoughtful design of our accommodation, the kindnesses shown by the hosts, Valerie and Brian. It was a wonderful choice for not only visiting New Grange, but also to celebrate a birthday (with a very nice dinner at Scholars Townhouse Hotel in Drogheda, followed by a lively evening of music in McHugh's Pub). The grounds and paths around Townley Hall are fun to explore and one might be greeted by a gaggle of curious goats.
All four of us liked everything about the Garden Rooms at the Courtyard.
We chose this place last minute, fortunately for us, they had one room open for our desired dates. It’s a converted carriage house/stables (I think), regardless, the place is delightful. We were coming to the end of a two-week Ireland visit and needed a place to unwind a bit. There are several options for short, interesting walks… either to visit the manor grounds next door or to “get lost” in the woods down the lane… we did both and couldn’t recommend one over the other. The owners are terrific, watching them tend to the grounds with loving care let us see how involved they are on a personal level.
I’m gonna have to think long and hard on this question… our entire stay was wonderful.
The property was in a quiet rural location but only about 10 min. to Slane - a small town but with restaurants and a bit farther to several historic sites. Kitchen area to make morning coffee; there is no coffee shop close by but that was perfect for us.
Liked everything- but one should look at the photos and location to know what to expect.
Unique, secluded and completely comfortable with updated facilities and charming decor.
So quaint and unique. It’s renovated with excellence and full of charm. Every detail was carefully thought through and every need anticipated! Would absolutely recommend this lovely place!!
Nothing. It was just perfect
The property is surrounded by greenery and the peaceful countryside, and it is truly wonderful, meticulously designed down to the smallest detail and full of comfort.

Super mooi appartement. Het heeft alle faciliteiten en 2 grote mooie slaapkamers.
This was a wonderful place. away from noise and hotel traffic. A great find and the host Valerie was exceptional. Just wish we had more time to stay. Would love to return some day.

None
We had an amazing stay. The Courtyard Accommodation has been thoughtfully done. Exposed stone work making the most of the original features, whilst adding a modern contemporary feel with all mod cons. Valerie has thought of everything.
Nothing not to like.
An absolutely stunning location. Peace at .. The host was welcoming and accommodation 5*. The cleanliness and thoughful food and drinks left for us after a long journey was amazing. Beds were comfy and showers refreshing. We will be back!
Forgetting my hiking boots as there are wonderful walks on the doorstep. There are miles of walks around the estate.
Had a perfect stay at the Garden Rooms. The apartments and the Courtyard are stunning and maintained to the highest standards with every comfort provided as well as some welcoming extras. The hosts are delightful. Highly recommended.
great stay
The setting was tranquil Very clean The little treats
The severity of the speed bumps
There were so many thoughtful touches in the room, like orange juice, sparkling water, bread, butter, jams and biscuits. Even slippers and local hand made toiletries. There were also fresh flowers from the garden which was lovely. The rooms have been renovated to a very high standard and even include a glass jewellery box which was a great addition I enjoyed using during our stay. The kitchen is kitted out really well. We also loved having our own outdoor furniture and seating to start the day with a cuppa in the beautifully planted garden.
It was almost perfect apart from the tv channels were very limited and due to location being out of the UK we were unable to access our Netflix account due to location limitations, so a Netflix account made available to guests would be a nice addition but this is such a minor detail.
Gorgeous grounds, private and quiet, the cottage was spotless with many amenities. Valerie and Brian were helpful, fun, and informative. We loved playing archery in the courtyard. Lovely brown bread and jam in our room for our breakfast. Highly recommend.
Beautiful setting. Very welcoming host. Fantastic attention to detail.
Lovely hosts. Beautiful countryside location. Excellent accommodations, conveniently located near Dublin Airport and sights north of the city.
Located on the historic and bucolic Townley Hall estate - a short drive from Tullyallen and Drogheda.
Lovely friendly and helpful hosts, great accommodation, fantastic location (5min drive from Battle of the Boyne site for example). Lots of other nearby (i.e. < 1 hour drive) things to do and see including beach at Mornington, overall very happy with this rental.
This is a fantastic place to stay, featuring thoughtful touches such as bread, milk, butter, tea, and coffee among other amenities. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Valerie. The lodging itself is pristine and decorated to a high standard. It offers exceptional comfort in a stunning environment. The aesthetics are beautiful, showcasing meticulous attention to detail throughout the space. The bedding and the super king-size bed were of outstanding quality, contributing to an exquisite experience overall. An added convenience is the separate laundry and ironing room, which proved to be very helpful during our stay.
Nothing - the place was amazing
It’s in a stunning location, we are countryside people at heart and this feels so peaceful and relaxing. Valerie was a wonderful host, sending directions the day before, leaving delicious local goods that we have for breakfast each morning, and it’s so lovely to have someone to greet you on arrival and show you around. There was also a helpful guide to how things works as well as restaurant recommendations - we had dinner at Inside Out which was delicious and very friendly service. We felt really treated and loved every moment. The bed is out-of-this-world comfy! I don’t know what mattress that is but I need one! And lots of blankets for the colder months. Having said that, it was lovely and toasty with the underfloor heating that we could control to our liking. There was a selection of games and leaflets with suggestions of activities in the local area. We visited Knowth and Dowth nearby which were fantastic. We also made good use of the Scrabble set with takeaway pizza from nearby Slane. All in all, we had the most wonderful weekend away, and will almost certainly be back! Thank you, Valerie.
Nothing!
Agree with all the positive comments - comfortable, stylish courtyard property with some nice extras. Owners live opposite so are on hand to assist with anything
Living area with small sofa great for 2, might be a bit less comfy for 4.
What’s not to love?! The entire experience was absolutely incredible! Valerie was lovely, the apartment was exquisite and delightfully comfortable. Loved the homey touches and attention to detail in every which way. Felt incredibly spoiled!! This place is truly a hidden gem, no question. We are looking forward to coming back!
There was nothing we didn’t like. Zero complaints.
The apartment was beautifully decorated and appointed. Its location is amazing!
Nothing
We had an excellent stay. This place was perfect for the start of our trip. Great location close to Newgrange & Knowth. The bed was super comfortable and quite honestly the best sleep we have had on this trip. Communication from start to finish with Valerie and then Laura was excellent!! Valerie even went above and beyond leaving me gluten free bread and cookies!
Amazing place to stay, little extras - bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee to name a few. Met at the property by Laura who was lovely and checked in with us throughout our stay. Super clean and beautiful soft fluffy towels! Stayed for a wedding at nearby Tankardstown House 10 - 15 minute ride in a taxi and easy to get to from Dublin, via train and taxi.
Nothing this is a fabulous property.
Immaculate accommodation furnished to a high standard. Very comfortable in a beautiful setting. Very helfuf and friendly host who was responsive to any queries.
Everything! Very well equipped & comfortable. The hosts, Valerie & Brian were very welcoming and helpful. We were even able to use the laundry. The Olympics were starting during our stay & Brian & Valerie had arranged to change the tv in our room over to one that would enable us to watch the opening ceremony.

Beautiful aesthetics and attention to detail. The property included lots of extras such as butter, milk, bread, coffee, herbal teas, biscuits in Kilner jars, eco cleaning products, and bathroom products, which were vegan and hand-made. The little outdoor patio was lovely to sit in, surrounded by beautiful flowers and shrubbery. There is a separate laundry and ironing room, which can be used on request. The bedding and superking size bed were of an exceptionally high standard. You are central for sightseeing across the beautiful Boyne Valley area. Valerie was warm and approachable and provided lots of information on eateries, areas of interest, and most importantly, a local cab company should you wish to be car free. Exquisite all round.
That we had to leave.
Delicious bread, butter, jam coffee, juice provided. Books about the property were very interesting. Hosts were lovely. Courtyard garden was beautiful and peaceful.
Everything was perfect during our stay. Our apartment was super clean! The bed was very comfortable and they even supplied us with tea coffee and all the essentials. Beautiful location nestled in the cute village of Tullyallen, which was very peaceful. All attractions were close by and easy to find via Google maps. There are lots of things to do and see. Would definitely recommend it.

It was so lovely and clean and comfortable!! Gorgeous courtyard, lovely high ceilings, well appointed! Homemade bread, fresh milk ,delicious mango orange juice so many extras! Really impressive! AND Valerie was absolutely Lovely!
Nothing
The apartment was beautifully decorated and stocked with everything we could have wanted. There was a bag of good quality toiletries and slippers to wear. Some milk, bread, butter, jam, biscuits, beverages on our arrival. The host was there to greet us and on hand for any queries. The setting on a country house estate was beautiful, peaceful and very near to many places of interest. I highly recommend this venue and would return to stay again. 😁
Nothing!
Valerie thought of everything. It was like staying in a b&b or boutique hotel. The bed was so comfy, and the apartment was finished to a high degree but maintained the stable construction which we loved. It was located close to the places we wanted to see like Bru na Boinne and Trim and Hill of Tara. Plus I reached out to her before arrival due to a medical issue and she was so kind and helpful as was her husband. My only regret was that we had only booked for 2 days. I would have loved to stay longer!
hosts, bedrooms, bathrooms, garden area excellent, thanks to Valerie and family for looking after us
kitchen dining area just didn't feel it would have been comfortable for 4 persons had our friends joined us, so this part of the property was disappointing
Beautiful spot, photos don't do it justice. Very peaceful, it has a lovely combination of the old stone stable block and all the mod cons you could need.
Nothing springs to mind
Large, quiet rooms in a beautiful courtyard location with great hosts and self-catering facilities.
It's a bit of a hike to a decent restaurant.
The garden rooms were gorgeous. Lovely accommodations with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The place was immaculately clean. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The courtyard is beautifully landscaped with lovely garden furniture to sit out and enjoy. I can’t say enough about the property. It was superb.
Absolutely nothing. It was fantastic.
Beautiful homely place
Small tv
Excellent in all regards.
There was nothing to complain about
Location was great. The suite was beautifully decorated. The hosts were charming. It couldn't have been better.
Nothing
From the friendly greeting on arrival to the last cheerio, we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Garden Rooms. The exterior and interior is beautifully decorated, the huge bed was very comfortable and the shower room (which I'm very fussy about) was excellent with a powerful shower. Kitchen facilities also top notch and everything was spotless without exception. We were provided with hot cross buns and a Lindt choc bunny 🐇 as it was Easter, and there was a supply of milk, orange juice, tea (so glad to see peppermint ) coffee and biscuits.
Nothing to dislike, except maybe better signage needed at the entrance as we were thrown by the "Private" sign.
The garden apartment was excellent . We travel to the area 2-3 times a year to visit family and it is the best place we have stayed in. The interior is very high quality with super comfy beds and the outside area has a wonderful atmosphere. It was lovely to arrive to a few treats and enough to start us off for a few days with milk, juice and plenty of tea and coffee. We even had little bags of toiletries. This is a very special place and it was a pleasure to stay in this accommodation for a few days.
This was the best self catering we have ever stayed in. The hosts were simply lovely, the location great for all we needed and bed, the comfiest we've slept on. We love that the hosts stay in each of the rooms to check each out for comfort. We were met with an easy check in and they accommodated an early check in request too. Hot cross buns, homemade marmalade and jam as well as delicious butter, oj and the basics greeted us - it was Easter weekend! The comprehensive shop in Tullyallen had all we needed and the location was great; we explored Dublin (train from Drogheda), Trim and Slane from here. The bathroom is lovely and well equipped with a gorgeous rain shower that's hot! The bed is to die for - super comfy and the most beautiful blankets in case you're chilly but the underfloor heating and huge gorgeous arched glass doors along the south facing wall mean you're never going to be cold. Utterly private location along a long driveway.
that we couldn't stay longer!
Beautiful, well thought out and very comfortable. Hope to stay again.
Nothing
We stayed here for the February bank Holiday weekend. One of the very few places in Ireland worth the asking price. I would highly recommend and I would stay here again without hesitation. Our two kids loved it. Valerie was also very accomodating. The rooms are spotless. Thank you for making our stay more like a home away from home.
Beautiful apartments finished to a high standard..Valerie our host was fabulous nothing was too much bother . Would highly recommend
Loved everything
The Courtyard is an idyllic place situated in the grounds of Townley Hall. We enjoyed the understated beauty and peacefulness of this location, yet nearby amenities and places of interest are easily accessible (car essential). The apartment was modern and comfortably appointed, and we found it well equipped for our short stay. The owners were friendly and helpful - thank you for ensuring that our visit was a pleasant one.
Rich history, exceptional comfort, ideally quiet and secluded.
Wow! What a special place! We we’re absolutely stunned at the beauty of this gem… it was well appointed with everything you need when away from home. Best nights sleep of our entire 3 week trip!
This property is exceptional. In fact, I don't think we have stayed in a more attractive place via this website. Townley Hall is perfectly situated for visiting Newgrange archeological site and the Battle of the Boyne battlefield. Neither should be missed.
The apartment had everything one needed. The courtyard outside is beautifully planted and we had our own little corner hidden behind tall grasses. Really charming
A beautiful place, couldn't fault it. Beds were beyond comfortable.
Nothing.
We loved everything about The Garden Rooms. In fact we stayed an extra night as the hosts Valerie and Bryan were so very warm and accommodating. Aside from the stunning buildings and beautiful tucked away country location, it was so close to ancient Newgrange (Brú na Bóinne) and the historic Hill of Slane, amongst other local treasures. The gorgeous 2 b/rm. Garden Room Apartment catered perfectly for our family and the yummy local items for a simple continental breakfast were icing on the forever loved Irish cake!
Absolutely nothing!
The quiet atmosphere enabled us to just sit back and relax. A beautiful estate surrounded the property and was available to explore. We can go on...but book a weekend and enjoy the discovery.
We have nothing to add as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Fabulous apartment, great character to the property. Extremely clean. Lovely hosts. Quiet, serene, spacious. Top of the range facilities. All needs catered for. Essentials left in kitchen for breakfast. Complimentary late check out. Brilliant stay.
Exceeded all expectations
Fabulous property so clean and comfortable, best beds ever😘. Lovely hosts couldn’t do enough for us . Left foods stuff for breakfast which was so welcome. 5star accommodation , lovely setting and so convenient to so many historic places
Couldn’t fault it anyway
