Wilpattu Restaurant & Guest house

The guest house is located just outside of Wilpattu Park. The room was nice and clean and there was tea available for guests. We were also each served a really nice mango juice as a welcoming drink. They also helped us organize the safari - and we even saw a leopard!

Excellent base for Wilpaatu NP, right on main road so bus stops right there, lovely restaurant with a mango juice to die for. Nice garden spot to enjoy meals. Extremely helpful owner Kaushik who assisted with a good safari

Would have liked a rice and curry offering at dinner, but the kottu, fried rice, devilled sausage etc were very tasty, no complaints....

Lo mejor ha sido el personal, que han sido muy agradables. Las habitaciones normales. Desayuno correcto. Puedes cenar allí si te hace falta, pero con cocina sencilla.

No está mal del todo, pero por el precio pagado y en comparación con el resto de alojamiento en los que hemos estado en Sri Lanka, me esperaba mucho más. Hotel a pie de carretera, por lo que el ruido por la noche era importante.

Staff were all so kind and willing to go out of their way to help us with anything needed. They have a restaurant and a small shop. We ate all our meals here and did a safari with them. Was welcomed by a lovely fresh juice. They also transferred us to Sigiriya! Very nice stay - thank you!

The host was outstanding! He arranged a safari complete with packed lunch. The setting was magical- eating dinner in a raised platform to watch birds. He took us back to the train at the end.

Het personeel was geweldig, ik werd plotseling ziek en er werd enorm goed voor me gezorgd. Roomservice, fruit, water, helemaal niks tekort gekomen. Heel attent!

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Wilpattu national park. The place is great, clean, quiet and comfortable. The garden is amazing with great views into the rice field. The host was so helpful offering to drive us places and making dinner for us when the restaurant was shut. I would definitely recommend this place!!

Tutto perfetto! Sono gentili e disponibili. Ci hanno accolto appena arrivati con un frullato in mango incredibile. C’è anche la possibilità di lavarsi i vestiti (a mano). Tutti i pasti possono essere consumati nella casetta nel giardino che offre un panorama incredibile sulla natura. Camere pulitissime e accoglienti. Su richiesta ti organizzano il safari che è a 15 min dalla struttura! Colazione abbondante e buona.

De mensen hier zijn super vriendelijk, Het verblijf is goed gelegen, langs een verbindingsbaan. Je kan ook een op de eerste verdieping of in de tuin. Heel gezellig. Zachte airco op de kamer, goede wifi. Lekker eten.

De kamers aan de voorkant kunnen misschien wat last ondervinden van het verkeer, maar de achterste kamers zijn in orde

De gastvrijheid was prima. Safari ook goed geregeld.

Weinig leuke restaurantjes in de omgeving. Pickme niet actief hier.

De vriendelijkheid en oprechtheid van de gastheer en zijn familie. Een prachtige tuin met uitzicht op de rijstvelden, waar je lekker kan ontbijten en HEERLIJKE fruitdrankjes kan drinken. De gastheer heeft voor ons de safari geregeld. Nadien hielp hij ons met het vervoer naar het volgend verblijf in Anuradhapura en Trincomalee.

Het ligt langs de grote weg en er is niet veel te doen rond het verblijf op de safari na.

Perfecte plaats om op safari te gaan. Super vriendelijk personeel.

Lovely friendly manager who was always smiling and happy to help during the stay. Also answered all my questions and helped with bus and safari bookings! He went above and beyond, and offered to and arranged a small birthday celebration for my husband. The whole team were lovely. :) Only 10-15 minute drive from main safari park entrance and nice jungle setting at the back. Definitely recommend!

Personal muy atento al nivel de sri Lanka, te ayudan en todo. Les dijimos que llegábamos tarde para cenar y nos hicieron el favor de prepararnos la cena antes de cerrar el restaurante. Al día siguiente nos dejaron quedarnos hasta que volvimos del safari y nos diéramos una ducha. Fue de agradecer.

Please please stay here, the staff are so lovely and super hospitality. As soon as I booked to stay here I had immediate communication to organise a pick up from the train station in pattalam. We organised the safari with them too which so easy as the jeep picked us up from the homestay. We had a lovely morning at wilpattu national park an managed to see elephants, sloth bear, crocodiles, wild deers and much more. Additionally they were able to personally take us to our next hostel in trincomalee which was a 2.5 hour journey. Additionally the food was great and also super affordable. They have ice cream and snacks available along with fresh smoothies. We were just so impressed with how hospitable all the staff were. Other highlights were free breakfast, clean bathrooms, comfy bed and also the view from the balcony. Beautiful view of the sunset and fields, super chill. Thank you so much for our time here we loved it !!

We really enjoyed our stay here! There is a beautiful garden with a cute place to relax and eat just next to the rice fields. The food is really nice and the people very kind! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The host arranged a safari for us and we also borrowed bikes to discover the beautiful environment.

The WiFi is not working very good. The host is trying to fix it.

The family owning the questhouse was very kind. They make you feel comfartble en greet you with a warm welcome. The food there is super nice. The garden is beautiful to sit and have diner. Also the family helps you with every question.

Tuvimos una estancia maravillosa. La familia nos trató increíblemente bien y estuvo atenta a nosotros en todo momento, asegurándose siempre de que estuviéramos cómodos y de que no nos faltara nada. Todo muy limpio. El jeep para el safari de Wilpattu nos recogió directamente en el alojamiento. Estamos muy agradecidos por su hospitalidad y sin duda recomendaríamos este lugar.

Brilliant stay here! The hosting family are really accommodating and friendly. Safari and transfer to our next destination were arranged smoothly - transport is available via the family’s new car. Das Zimmer ist gut und, da wir das Zimmer mit Gartenblick hatten, auch ruhig. Die Zimmer mit Seeblick haben zwar die bessere Aussicht, allerdings liegen diese zur Hauptstraße hin, wofür wir aber die Lautstärke nicht einschätzen können. Die Familie ist super nett und auch das Restaurant mit dem Frühstück war sehr gut. 👍🏽 Die Gästezimmer gibt es erst seit 2 Jahren, weshalb alles sehr neu wirkte. Wir haben uns außerdem von Kaushika vom Flughafen abholen lassen, da die Kommunikation über Booking und später WhatsApp sehr gut mit ihm geklappt hat. Er hat uns außerdem am Abreisetag nach Sigiriya gefahren und war unser gut geschulter Guide bei der bei Ihnen gebuchten Full-Day-Safari. Bei der Safari wurde auf unsere Wünsche Rücksicht genommen und wir haben nicht nur viele verschiedene Vögel, Rehe, einen Elefanten im See baden gesehen, neben einem Krokodil zu Mittag gegessen, sondern auch einen Leoparden gefunden 😊. Der Fahrer und Guide haben hierbei gute Arbeit geleistet, dass wir ihn sehen konnten, da natürlich mehrere Jeeps da waren und jeder Versucht hat ihn zu sehen, wobei aber der gegenseitige Respekt aller Fahrer zu spüren war. Unser vegetarisches Essen im Restaurant als auch auf der Safari waren immer sehr gut und lecker. Und vor allem der Mangosaft! Also ein Rundum-Sorglos-Paket und absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Bad war zwar bei der Ankunft leicht muffig, nachdem man aber wieder etwas Wasser in den Siphon hat laufen lassen, wurde es besser. Die Matratze von unserem Bett war nur 1,95 m lang was größere Menschen wie ich schon merken, wenn dann mehr als nur die Fußspitzen heraushängen.

Está bien ubicado para hacer el safari de Wilpattu. Kaushika nos recogió en el aeropuerto e hicimos el safari con el, es encantador y muy trabajador! Muy recomendable, os ayudará con lo que os haga falta. La habitación es básica, limpia y para pasar una noche suficiente.

No esperes una habitación de hotel con grandes lujos, el baño es bastante antiguo, pero todo limpio y cumple su función.

Het personeel heeft voor ons de safari geregeld, ophaalservice, diner en taxi naar het volgend verblijf. Erg fijn en goed geregeld!

Staff were awesome and super helpful in arranging everything from the safari (good price!) to transport. There is a beautiful cabin in the garden that overlooks rice fields. Good location, 10 mins from the Wilpattu park entrance.

Het personeel was echt onwijs lief en lieten ons heel erg op ons gemak voelen. Bij aankomst kregen we een welkomstdrankje en konden we gelijk dineren in de boomhut. Ook werd onze tuktuk geparkeerd en onze tassen aangenomen. De kamer was mooi. De volgende dag hebben we met de eigenaar en zijn broer een onvergetelijke safari gedaan.

Er was wat geluidsoverlast van de buren met harde muziek en daarbij ook van de wat drukkere weg.

Basic kamers, maar dit was voor ons voldoende. Erg vriendelijke familie die je met alles willen helpen. Safari via hier geboekt, dat was super! Daarbij is het restaurant ook erg lekker. Prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding is goed!

Great place to stay, only about 10 minutes from the entrance to Wilpattu National Park. We did a safari through the guesthouse too, which was great. Lovely food at the restaurant with an amazing view of the rice fields!

Tolle Unterkunft mit sehr netten Besitzern und perfekt gelegen für eine Wilpattu Safari. Das Frühstück ist super und man kann zudem sehr gut im Restaurant zu Abend essen. Die Aussicht in den Garten vom Balkon ist toll.

Für große Personen (> 1,90m) könnte die Matratze etwas länger sein.

Sehr gut gelegenes Guest House, direkt beim Wilpattu National Park, mit sehr herzlichen Besitzern. Der Ausblick vom Balkon in den Garten voller Bananenpflanzen ist wunderschön und das Zimmer war super sauber. Wir haben über die Unterkunft eine Safari mit Kadil gebucht und es war ein unvergesslicher Tag. Das Essen in der Unterkunft ist lecker zu sehr fairen Preisen. Der Bus für die Weiterreise wurde für uns sogar direkt vor der Unterkunft angehalten. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war einfach top, können die Unterkunft nur jedem empfehlen!

Das Internet war, wie überall in Sri Lanka, nicht das beste und das Bett könnte bisschen bequemer sein, für zwei Nächte aber vollkommen ok.

Rendezett, tiszta szobát kaptunk, gyönyörű kilátással a hátsó kis pálmaerdőre. A személyzet nagyon kedvesen fogadott bennünket, és még reggelit is csomagoltak, mivel hajnalban indultunk a Nemzeti Parkba szafarira. A szállás jó helyen van, tuktukkal könnyen elérhető a park.

The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The place is perfect for an overnight stay to go to wilpattu national park. Food was great and reasonable. Beautiful garden from the balcony. If you’re using buses really easy access.

We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great value, especially for a group. We were a party of four and found it perfectly suited for our needs. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. The entire place is kept very nice and tidy. . The included breakfast was a real highlight; it was tasty, fulfilling, and a great way to start the day. We also loved our room's balcony. The view was lovely and the fresh air was so relaxing. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and friendly place that offers excellent value for your money, look no further.

Het personeel is echt super vriendelijk. Wij vertrokken om 5:00 voor safari en konden toen gewoon uitchecken. Ze bieden ‘s avonds ook hele lekkere maaltijden aan.

Het ligt aan een redelijk drukke weg dus niet echt op fijne loopafstand van andere restaurantjes

Struttura davvero carina posizionata sulla strada principale a breve distanza dall'accesso al Parco Nazionale di Wilpattu. Stanza comoda con un bel balcone sul verde. Oltre alle stanze è presente un ristorante e negozio di cibo. Abbiamo mangiato bene, ottimo riso e succhi freschi. Il ragazzo accogliente e sempre pronto a dare consigli e aiutare. Ci hanno preparato la colazione al sacco e tenuto gli zaini durante il nostro safari. Abbiamo anche sfruttato il loro giardino per stendere i panni ad asciugare. Chiedete direttamente a loro se avete bisogno di una macchina o un tuktuk, buoni prezzi!

The room was perfect and the balcony was a pleasant addition to the space. There was always the option of eating just outside the room instead of in the restaurant on the ground floor, which was perfect. The host was very helpful in arranging for safari, as well as flagging down the bus to get us to our next destination. They were welcoming and helpful. This is a perfect base for a safari at Wilpattu.

The guest house is located on the busy road. A room facing the back of the guest house is less noisy.

Fantastic location very near to safari park. Very convenient restaurant/shop attached. Tasty food and delicious fresh fruit juices. Staff & family absolutely wonderful, always smiling and so welcoming. Room had good air con, great view (lake view room), and was clean. Bathroom basic, but it worked. Bring your own toiletries. They arrange safaris, and the (young adult) son joined us on ours, he had very good knowledge and communication skills, so we didn’t need a guide.

Street traffic noise v loud even at night - main road. Maybe rooms facing the back of the building would be quieter.

Struttura ottima per appoggio ad una giornata di safari a Wilpattu, organizzato direttamente da loro su nostra richiesta. Camera e bagno senza pretese. Gestore molto simpatico e disponibile. Non di certo la miglior accomodation dello SriLanka, ma rapporto qualità prezzo assolutamente ottimo

I loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the host and his family. He was able to help us arrange transportation to/from the guesthouse and also the safari jeep. The location is very quiet despite being by the main road. It’s located some distance from the safari but still relatively close by. we managed to see the elephant and even a leopard! The room itself was clean and well planned, all the basic amenities were provided for us.

It’s all very clean and simple, don’t expect anything super fancy and you will be good. Wifi was a bit spotty on our 2nd day.

Eén van de twee kamers die we boekten had airco en dat was toch wel een must voor een goede nachtrust. Zeker aangezien we al om 5 uur moesten opstaan om richting safari te vertrekken. De ligging tov het wildpark was uitstekend; binnen een kwartiertje waren we bij het Wilpattu Wildpark. Verder kregen we een lekker ontbijtje mee voor onderweg, en ook was er een prima avondmaaltijd te krijgen.

Anders dan verwacht en eerder afgesproken was een safari regelen via deze guesthouse toch wat lastig. Door wifi problemen verloren we de internet verbinding waardoor we tot 2 x toe online safari tickets zelf hebben moeten boeken. Nu maar hopen dat de twee creditcard reserveringen niet allebei worden afgeschreven....! 🤞 we zouden een gids meekrijgen (waarvoor we de entreeticket al hadden betaald) maar dat lukte uiteindelijk niet.

Ottima punto di appoggio per il safari al Parco Nazionale di Wilpattu, che ci è stato organizzato in modo perfetto dal proprietario.

Struttura molto vicina all'ingresso del parco, camera pulita e letto molto comodo. La colazione al sacco per il safari è sicuramente un gesto molto gentile. Il proprietario ha sempre risposto alle mie domande aiutandomi a organizzare safari e trasferimenti in modo molto gentile, ma ogni tanto è stato un po' difficile capirci.

La struttura è proprio sulla strada principale quindi si sente rumore dalla stanza. Non c'è nulla attorno quindi se non vuoi cenare li la sera (ristorante chiude alle 18:30) devi prendere un pick me per andare nei ristoranti vicini (un po' lunghi i tempi di attesa dei tuk tuk data la zona)

Het bed was aan de korte kant voor mensen langer 1.80 m.

El hotel está muy bien, es cómodo y acogedor y la gente muy amable.

Reservamos un safari privado de día completo en Wilpattu y fue un engaño. El conductor del jeep (placa 157) nos dejó tirados a mitad del recorrido con la excusa de una rueda pinchada, y más tarde lo vimos haciendo otro safari con otros clientes. Además, mintió en el hotel sobre la hora del incidente. Consejo: si reserváis aquí, pedid que no os asignen al conductor 157. Esto no fue cosa del hotel ya que ellos piden un conductor a la reserva de Wilpattu.

Die Mitarbeiter der Unterkunft waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie haben uns sehr nett in Empfang genommen und schon im Voraus unsere Safari organisiert. Das Essen war lecker und preiswert und auch die Zimmer waren in einem sauberen Zustand. Abgesehen von der Safari ist in der Gegend allerdings nicht viel zu erleben. Wir würden es sehr empfehlen!

Perfect hotel om te verblijven voor een safari in Wilpattu. Onze Safari ook vanuit het hotel geregeld, was super leuk. Groot bed, goed werkende airco en nette kamer.

Redelijk duur in vergelijking tot andere verblijven.

Staff superlativo. Ci hanno organizzato il safari in maniera impeccabile, con tanto di colazione al sacco. Il ristorante è ottimo (succhi spettacolari).

In bagno andrebbe messa una zanzariera per limitare gli insetti. Consiglio di portare i tappi essendo sulla strada se si ha il sonno leggero.

Je hoeft geen extra luxe te verwachten op de locatie. Het is simpel en daar betaal je ook voor.

Wat een ontzettend lieve en gastvrije familie! We verbleven hier twee nachten in verband met onze safari naar Wilpattu, die zij ook voor ons regelden. Alles was tot in de puntjes verzorgd heerlijk ontbijt en lunch mee.. Onze chauffeur en bijrijder deden er alles aan om een luipaard te spotten en ja hoor, het is gelukt! Als kers op de taart hielpen ze mee met een "surprise party" met een prachtige zelfgemaakte verjaardagstaart voor mijn dochter die jarig was. Het avondeten en het ontbijt waren heerlijk alles vers. Ook bij ons vertrek stonden ze voor ons klaar: ze hielpen ons de bus te nemen en hielden hem zelfs voor ons tegen. Ligt aan de doorgaande weg, maar toch hele groene omgeving.

Mooie accommodatie als je voor een safari wilt gaan. Mooie kamer en badkamer. Vriendelijk personeel die erg behulpzaam is.

Niet veel alleen wel rekening houden dat als je een safari boekt je zelf de entree kaarten moet regelen. Dit was bij ons even een gedoe, site was moeilijk te vinden, maar met goeie hulp van het personeel is het gelukt!

Uitstekende uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan Wilpattu . Heel schoon met lieve mensen die een safari voor je kunnen regelen met ontbijt en lunch. Omdat de plek langs de weg zit vind ik het vooral geschikt voor een bezoek aan Wilpattu, maar als je een rondje gaat wandelen sta je versteld van de mooie landschappen en omgeving.
