I would say this is more of a hotel than a hostel so if you are looking for a sociable place this may not be the best option. Location wasn’t the best but we knew that when we booked!

I was really disappointed with the activity booked on their app. Was a 4 to 8hr drive to the key sites of Kufri and other adventure places. Basically the hotel just hires a local taxi to do this. Basic English and the driver had to be told were to go. I think better to just find a taxi yourself that you feel comfortable with. Thought the messaging in the advertisement could be clearer

perfect place to stay - great view, easy short walk up to mall road (mostly stairs) and you can drive and park in front of the hotel

A/c wansn't working at the time but that is because they were waiting on their central a/c system.

The view from the room was spectacular as you're in the hills overlooking Shimla. The room is modern and spacious. This version of Hosteller is suites only, not hostel.

It was cold and raining in Shimla when we were there and there no heat in the room. There is a thermostat for central heating but it wasn't turned on. We had to rent space heaters at 600 INR per day (should have been 300 INR per their website). Also the location is isolated, far from anything but other hotels. We had a driver so he had to take us places and return us to the hotel. The food at the hotel seemed like microwaved boxed dinners - not great-specially if that's all that is available in the area.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. The views were amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Glu app was a bit of a faff. Also the room was extremely cold and you had to pay for a small fan heater.

Property is clean. Location and view is great.

1) Room heater was not provided. They charged 600 extra rent for a night for a heater which cost 900-1000. (Convection heater) 2) too kuch focus on using their app. Rather forcing everyone to use it. From adding extra services to ordering food.

I recently stayed at The Hosteller Shimla Valley View in Shimla and had a wonderful experience. The combination of breathtaking views, comfortable accommodation, and warm hospitality made my trip truly memorable. The property offers stunning views of the hills and is conveniently located near Mall Road, Ridge. The rooms were well-maintained, spacious, and provided all necessary amenities. staff was very helpful and professionals Kudos to them.

Was pricey but it was high season.

The rooms were clean and big . They had full size windows on both sides giving a full valley view. Both sunrise and sunset were visible. And the hotel is walkable from the mall road.

Our room was really lovely, overlooking the mountains, and the location was good for walking to the centre of town (although lots of steps!)

It was really really cold, we didn’t know until we arrived that there was no heating. We were told we could order a heater for 600 rupees per night, which when it came was tiny and did barely anything to warm the room. The hotel is completely run out of an app, so if you want anything you have to do it via the app, even going down for breakfast we were welcomed with a QR code. It just made everything feel quite impersonal. We had paid extra for the best room for the last part of our trip, and we were quite disappointed by the lack of hospitality and being constantly cold.

they kept saying card is declined while it is working fine and the stress of booking being canceled is uncalled for. Then, we are only allowed to pay through their app/ site which adds on additional razaorpay charges which came to additional 500rs!! Don't know if this is to keep booking out of the payment but it is a hassle for the customer. I travel all the time so pls tell me- How is that EVERY single hotel is able to get their payment through booking (local and international) and you claim you are not able to?! Pls do not gaslight people to cover up what you are doing! Multiple other customers have raise issue about this as well so that is enough to prove the accuracy of my statements!

They should mentioned that the Hotel is Veg only, even eggs were not served. Major drawback, Pl ensure to mention at the time of Booking that Veg food is being served in this Hotel . AC blower was very loud, could not sleep.

Very difficult location to get to, and from. Not particularly close to the Mall road, and difficult to find by car for our driver. The check in process is also highly convoluted.

My British credit card would not work with the app which was very annoying! But the staff went out of their way to help us!

We stayed at The Hosteller Shimla Valley View for 2 days, and honestly it never felt like we were away from home. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful especially Mr. Harish Kumar, who made our experience truly memorable. He gave us such warm, family like vibes and was always there to assist us. Mr. Harish helped us explore the local area with great suggestions and guidance, which made our trip smooth and enjoyable. Thanks to his hospitality, we felt well taken care of. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful stay with great people around

Nice place to stay. Modern and clean. Helpful staff. Check in and requests for your room are managed all through a web app which might not work well for everyone. The staff do help you with it but can slow things down . The hotel has no outdoor seating area but I believe they are building one. Western breakfast options limited - just fruit and toast. No jams or pastries - hotel is not the lowest price around so would expect a better selection.

Brand new and the room on 6th floor is amazing. Keep in mind that is a amazing room in a Hostel environment. AC has some issues. But again, the room at 6th floor is really comfortable.

Beautiful property and the nicest of the Hostellers we stayed in. The room was spacious, clean and peaceful with a beautiful valley view. Staff were exceptionally helpful and great to deal with. Food in the cafe was delicious. Would absolutely stay here again.

It is a bit removed from the key areas, but it is relatively easy to get around.

The vibe of the property is very pleasant and cheerful. Though the room (deluxe double on the 5th floor) is not extremely big, it is tastefully furnished and has a really good view from the big glass window that occupies an entire wall. One can enjoy a wonderful sunset from here and also a wide view of the snow peaks. The cafe has decent food which can be ordered through an app. The staff is warm and helpful. I would especially like to mention Mohit Puri who took very good care of my onward travel from Shimla. The mall is within comfortable walking distance from the property.

The only thing I did not like was the breakfast poha which had gone cold and which was not very authentic with its bits of capsicum and no sev. But whatever other food I ordered was good.

Prepayment is required, and this is buried in the fine print. I am ok with this, but if you're traveling it's just one more thing you could miss. Check-in asks too many questions and takes a while. You have to complete it yourself online when you arrive.

We had a nice experience at The Hosteller Valley View. Excellent brand new property with a Panoramic valley view thru big glass windows. The cafe provides very tasty pure vegetarian foods. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. Contact less check in and check out available. Centrally heated rooms with clean bathrooms and essential house keeping items. Fast customer service support(if any issues with booking)

Food was Excellent

This is the best place to stay in Shimla. Room was neat and clean, mountain view was perfect as showed in photos. Staff is very well mannered. Food in cafe was delicious. Overall i love this place. Highly recommended.

Breakfast wasn’t very clear as to how it is organised, you needed to come downstairs and request it which we where not made aware of.

Room and hotel quality match the photos. The weather was bad when I stayed but would imagine the view from the rooms are exceptional

I liked the location, the room decor, the ambiance, amenities, and the view from the room. Everything was perfect. The staff was very cordial and prompt. Mr Nitin and the chef were very courteous. We had to leave fairly early on the last day before the breakfast started. But Nitin and the chef made sure that we get our breakfast before we left. The dinner and breakfast were very good. The only disappointment was that this facility is ONLY VEGETARIAN. Pankaj and Mohit at the reception and travel desk are extremely helpful and made our stay enjoyable.

I would like if they can serve non-veg food too.
