I was given a room with no windows and when I told the manager that it was not how it was shown in website. They asked me to pay extra to get a room with a window. I was amazed that how can there be a room without window.

Internet was horrible! I booked the hotel for working and I struggled to keep up with any call. Frequent drops! Full disappointment Towel Bedsheets and duvet definitely needs upgrading!! It’s turned from white to something muddy.. change your laundry service please. Room had literally no windows, I mean it had two for name sake but really small probably 2x2 feet?! (Nowhere it is mentioned) Panner Ghee roast definitely needs some attention for improvement. Never had such poor taste.

1) Why do you have 2 hotels named AJ Grand? I went to the wrong one first. Then my transfer had trouble finding the Elite hotel. 2) Breakfast was poor. Same unrecognizable food every day. Pancakes were my only reliable food. How about some scrambled eggs? Oatmeal? Bacon? 3) Nothing to do or see apparently outside the hotel 4) TV choices were terrible. How about a list of options? CNN? Netflix? PBS? ESPN? Instructions on how to work the 2 clickers for each TV would be helpful. 5) I was told there was room service but never saw any information about it. 6) No gym or weight room 7) Uber was unreliable

Reviewed Nov 22, 2025Modern hotel in quiet residential area. Large, clean room with very comfortable bed. Got a great night’s sleep. Small room windows help to keep the heat out. Limited breakfast buffet, but many additional items made to order, including omelettes if you eat outside by the pool.

Reviewed Oct 28, 2025The breakfast was good for veg guests. However, for those non vegs, we will have to stay out of the restaurant to get egg omelette. I actually thought that they have both pure veg and non veg available for breakfast. Unfortunately that was not the case, The breakfast restaurant is only for the pure veg restaurant.
Nothing more. Only that i cant have my egg omelette in the restaurant but thats just a little bit of the inconvenience. Oh, and the fact that they keep saying that all the mistakes should be reported to Booking.com when they have the power to settle the problem. The rest are all Good. The staff are excellent!

They cleaned the room in our absence even without asking raising concerns for our belongings and cash (nothing was missing though). But they should understand, If the guests want their room cleaned, then they can put the "Clean my room" tag. But DO NOT CLEAN when they don't explicitly ask.

a bit of stale smell of mould probably due to the humidity and rain in the living room as we entered. However the bedroom.was perfect. Water pressure in the wash basin very less from the taps. Attention needs to be given to that.

Except for one unhelpful reception staff (lady), the rest were very customer centric. Special mention for Sandeep Sharma who was very helpful. Restaurant staff were all very courteous and helpful.

1. Breakfast was very similar on all 3 days that we had breakfast there. Moreover, at the time of booking, I was not aware that the hotel offered only a pure veg breakfast. 2. On the 1st day, the room was not cleaned when we returned at around 2.30 pm. They subsequently did it in the evening. 3. AJ Grand Elite is, at best, a 3* property and needs to improve in a few areas before it can be considered a 4 or 5*

The location is quite and peaceful and is very close to the highway, so in case if you plan to have a short stay and travel towards Udupi, this place is an awesome option. The staff was awesome and took care of all the needs. The checkin/checkout process was smooth. The room was well maintained. I liked the digital door bell at the door, it was feature enabled. the room temperature control was also easy to use. The view from the room was good. The in-room food service was quick and we were able to customise on the food, specifically the sea food. Overall a very good experience. In breakfast we experienced local cuisine and we loved it. We had Pundi Gasi for the first time and we enjoyed it. The place is very near to the Mangalore junction railway station and if you plan to take the Vista Dome train between Mangalore to Bangalore, this property is the best and i think the only practical option to stay overnight.
Breakfast spread could have a bit more of choices. Gym facility are limited(It does not matter though, if you are out on vacation) A print out of invoice was not provided at checkout (Again, not a blocker but something to be careful about)
