Lucky Transit Hotel - Katunayake Airport

Only stayed one Night, arriving at around midnight. I just wanted to sleep, and in this regard the room and AC was comfortable The owner and Hotel manager were very helpful and made sure I was comfortable

Maybe some fresh fruit with break fast, other wise breakfast was ok. The Manager was happy to answer any of my Queries and assisted with my continuing return journey to the south

El hotel está súper bien ubicado para coger el vuelo, todo super nuevo y muy cómoda la cama. Lo peor el que lo lleva que es super seco.....es más no parece ni de Sri Lanka.....pero bueno no es problema el precio es súper barato y justo en frente a la izda hay una cafetería local para desayunar

Amaaaaaazing shower. Very comfy beds, great AC, really friendly staff. Was very clean inside and was just round the corner from a few restaurants. Overall, excellent value for money

Just off a super busy road, so walking anywhere was a bit dodgy. And the breakfast was not good. That's the only letdown. A dry muffin and soggy sandwich was an odd breakfast. But didn't stop us having a great experience overall.

Avevamo chiesto di venirci a prendere in aeroporto e avevano confermato, ma non si è presentato nessuno. Quando siamo arrivati in taxi alle 3 di notte abbiamo trovato la porta chiusa e non c'era un campanello. Dopo un po' di tempo è comparsa una persona che ci ha dato la camera

Все очень прилично, мы останавливались только переночевать перед вылетом, так что бесплатный трансфер до аэропорта был очень кстати. В номере чисто и тихо, есть кондиционер. Очень приятный дядечка на ресепшене.

Душ такой что мочит все вокруг. На целую двуспальную кровать больше чем нам было нужно, но это не минус, скорее странность.

AC literal blows on the bed, so either o turn it off or you'll freeze. TV not working (like every other hotel with TV I been)

Nur 10min zum Flughafen und trotzdem recht ruhig gelegen. Supermärkte in der Umgebung, Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

In den Zimmern roch (stank) es ausgesprochen unangenehm nach Chemikalien oder intensiven Reinigungsmitteln. Liess sich auch mit Lüften nicht beseitigen. Auch due Klimaanlage konnte dagegen nichts ausrichten.

All in all was a good hotel next to the airport - but we piad a bit of high price I feel - usually such hotels next to airports can be cheaper

Only positive was convenient location near the airport.

The "free transfer" almost made us miss our flight. It was so late that we were panic messaging local taxis to try find someone to come get us, not once did the staff apologise or give us an update for how long it would be, we repeatedly asked them to call the driver to check why he was so late and how much longer it would be but they just ignored us. The room was also very uncomfortable, the loudest ac that you can't sleep to even on sleep mode, the shower soaks everything in the whole bathroom, bed was like a rock, elevator didn't work, terrible wifi. They overcharged us on check in and were not friendly at all.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Lucky Transit Hotel. It was no problem for the hotel owner to pick us up at the airport in the middle of the night. The rooms are very spacious and clean, which is very important to us.

It was a Last Minute booking and I arrived in the middle of the night. I was picked up at the airport and I felt very welcomed and taken care of. They even helped me organize a driver for my next stay.

The hotel is clean but the area is close to a busy Street, not a touristic area

Staff where very helpfull, and arranged breakfast and car to sth of Sri Lanka for us. Pick up from airport included made a hassel free arrival.

The front door of the hotel gets chain up at night, was a fire danger in my mind! also a hassel if u wanted to go for a walk early due to jet lag.

We stayed only very briefly after our arrival in Colombo, the staff were very helpful and accomodating. After a long flight the beds were so comfortable and we slept so well. It was fun to wander the streets early the next morning and watch all the kids heading to school.

Property staff was so kind and happy to work around our departure times and prepared our breakfast earlier then opening time. Excellent service

What a nice place to rest within 10 minutes drive from the airport. After all the experiences in Asia we were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful and spotless interiors, comfy beds, caring and professional staff who arranged and paid for our airport transfer and without any sign of discomfort made sure we could depart at 3am. Thank you!

We stayed for one night before flying back to the UK and had a great experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a short stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. A free 5-minute shuttle to the airport was included, which made things super easy. Breakfast (toast and coffee) was brought right to our room in the morning which was a nice touch! Definitely worth the money for the convenience and service.

Hotel is very nice and clean, close to the airport and supermarket. Winston helped us a lot, we had an early flight and it wasn’t an issue to prepare a breakfast for us at 6:30, he also booked a taxi to take us to the airport!

Close to airport; set back off the road so pretty quiet. "Free airport transfers" only applies to drop off. Was quoted US$20 for airport pickup; when Uber cost $3. Property seems unfinished - bare wires and holes in ceiling. Bed squeaky and uncomfortable. Breakfast average. We wouldn't stay here again.

Very friendly hotel manager. Warm welcome with a drink. The room and bathroom were very clean. 10min drive to the airport (if the driver knows where he is going - Ours did not!). Shower water pressure good - But water was warm, rather than hot!

Bed (queen) - Very creaky/noisy when moving. Not good for light sleepers such as myself. Our room was on the first floor - We could hear through the night the hotel staff playing videos on their phones.

The service was excellent along with airport transfer offered free of cost by the hotel

The room wasn’t the coziest, and honestly, the place felt a bit strange to me. The balcony was more of a name than an actual feature, and aside from the bed and shower, there was almost nothing else in the room. Airport transfer is paid. Do not take breakfast, so as not to be completely disappointed.

Lucky Transit Hotel is a good choice near Colombo international Airport. They offer free airport transfers, and the staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, making it a great place for a short stay.

Initially got our room mixed up. But managed to get there in the end. Breakfast was served but no dietary requirements were enquired.

The entrance was padlocked at night ( potential fire hazzard). The final bill was more expensive than price shown as vat was not included in price (this was not clearly indicated unless you clicked on price breakdown). Some confusion between the staff lead to us being taken to wrong room initially.

The staff was super accommodating! Made sure we had a car ready with breakfast prepared on time for our flight to the airport. Made sure to double check with us about every piece of information to make sure that everything was provided for. The owner drove us personally which was a nice personal touch.

Air conditioning was very very loud in the room and unfortunately the only way to make it quiet was to unplug the whole system. It is too hot to sleep without AC so we had to sleep with the noise. It’s manageable though.

To be honest, nothing.

I'm going to write an honest review and urge other potential visitors not to stay at this hotel. During my visit, my credit card was stolen; regrettably, I discovered it after a few days. Around 3000 USD has been spent on illegal transactions at the nightclub in front of the Lucky Transit Hotel. I tried to find out who had taken my card, but I was told that it definitely did not happen in the hotel. After a few days, one of their employees reported to the hotel manager regarding theft. It appears that he was terrified of what he had done. Then, he was gone or he got some help to escape. They already new about the issue and let him go. I can't believe the hotel owners didn't realize he was leaving for two nights in a row to have fun at the nightclub in front of them. I reported the event to the local police station, and they are looking for him as he is missing. I have received the relevant police reports. Unfortunately, I went to the hotel owners, who stated that this is not their responsibility as the individual is no longer employed there. He was a member of their staff at the time, so they bear full responsibility for what occurred. This is only a caution for the other guests. Better to choose an other hotel. Take care.

Very conveniently located near airport. Staff and owner are great. I especially appreciated help getting a tuk tuk to visit my friends and go out to eat. Also, free airport shuttle so great!

It was fine. Had a good sleep and a nice room. Toothpaste and toothbrush which I really appreciated.

It is my fault because I agreed to it and didn't check rates and distance but I had to pay a whopping 10 USD just to get driven around the corner from the airport which was disappointing, dispite futher seeing it saying it would be included in the original fee. Hotel abit expensive too I'd say. Also big language barrier but that's ok.

New and very clean

Good communication on line, friendly receptionist, smooth and welcoming check in, helpful stuff, excellent sri lankan breakfast, included comfortable shuttle to the airport. Quiet place but close to a main road with restaurants and shops. We will definitely reccommend this place and looking forward to stay again.

This place was so perfect, and the staff were very nice and wholesome. The room was very clean and comfortable. I ordered dinner and then asked if they had anything sweet and they said they didn't have anything on the menu, and then the owner went out and bought a lot of candy and sweets and served them to me with dinner. Very very sweet. They also dropped me off to the airport the next day (included in the stay) after breakfast. Staying in this hotel made my last 24 hours in Sri Lanka seamless and hassle free. I highly recommend.

We had a great stay at this hotel, even though it was just for one night before our flight out of the country. The room was clean, modern, and had a pleasant fragrance, which made it very comfortable to relax in. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The hotel also offers convenient services such as food and transportation upon request, which made our short stay even more hassle-free.
