Очень красивое место с невероятной атмосферой! Vrede en Lust Estate — это именно та винодельня, куда хочется приехать не только ради вина, но и ради самого места. Прекрасная территория, живописные виды, красивая архитектура и ощущение настоящего спокойствия вокруг. Всё очень ухоженно и со вкусом, при этом атмосфера совершенно не кажется излишне пафосной — здесь просто приятно находиться и наслаждаться моментом. Отдельное удовольствие — дегустация вина и возможность неспешно провести здесь несколько часов, любуясь окружающими пейзажами. Однозначно рекомендуем добавить это место в маршрут по винодельням Южной Африки!

Hospitality and cleanness were poor No one ask us about our stay, what we can discover nor activities to do in the region. Breakfast was good but no variety

Breakfast was really tasty and enjoyable. Like the idea of ordering off a menu instead of the usual buffet breakfast. Room was comfortable and ambiance of the estate good. Staff (especially at reception) were very friendly.

Masses of solar panels outside the mountain view rooms spoils the view unfortunately.

Vrede En Lust was absolutely stunning. The Savoye restaurant where we spent most of our time had an extensive, beautiful menu to enjoy seasonal food by the fireplace and beautiful VNL wines. Staff were extremely accommodating, professional, helpful and friendly. It felt like being a home away from home, which was down to the hospitality and beautiful settings around. Room was very well equipped and comfortable with the nicest toiletries and room spray available there.

Maybe slightly more comfortable chairs on the terrace of the garden room but apart from that everything just perfect and idyllic.

Lovely setting on the outskirts of Franschoek. Beautiful buildings with a restaurant and bakery on site as well as a great wine tasting room! Very friendly and welcoming staff.

There was a slight issue with the hot water which was soon fixed. It's a shame that the view of the mountains from several of the bedrooms is marred by a long line of solar panels! Perhaps they could somehow be screened off

Great wine farm experience. Rooms were very authentic. Staff were attentive and food at the restaurants and pool was excellent.

Good location. Nice outdoor areas where you can sit in the evening with a glass of wine. The place is clean. The restaurant was very good on the first night, but not on the second — probably a human factor. Breakfasts are good, filling and tasty.

In one room, the hot water issue was not fixed during all 4 days of our stay. The staff tried to explain why it happens, but honestly I am not interested in the physics — I just need a hot shower. The problem was not solved. Also, there was a tractor working right outside, removing vineyards and starting construction at 7:00 am every day. This is quite strange — it would be much more reasonable to let guests sleep until 8–9 am and then work later. During the day, the work often stopped anyway, so it was unclear why it had to start so early. Overall, the project itself is beautiful and well designed, but the staff does not match the level. I even wrote an email after the stay and received no response, so I am leaving this review here. Also, there is no gym — it is only available in the Residence, which is a separate property.

The wifi strength in our room was very poor, almost useless. Standing at the door you could sometimes get two bars. The TV reception was almost poor, possibly for same reason. This spoilt out stay. The shower door didn’t fit properly though was minor

There is a sense of calm and understated elegance that runs through the entire estate. Franschhoek offers many beautiful places to stay, but Vrede en Lust stands apart. It has a quiet confidence and sense of class that makes it feel like a hidden gem among the many options in the valley. Quite simply, we would not choose to stay anywhere else when visiting Franschhoek again. An unforgettable experience — highly recommended.

Nothing - I liked everything.

Ein schöner Aufenthalt auf einem Weingut mit einer inkludierten Weinprobe. Saubere, wenn auch etwas kühl eingerichtete Zimmer. Der Ausschankraum und der Rest des Hotels jedoch sehr ansprechend und eindrucksvoll.

Wir haben leider zahlreiche Mückenstiche davon getragen. Die meisten auf unserem Trip auf der Gardenroute.

The cottage wasn’t the cleanest. Spider webs in the ceiling, curtains not the cleanest and 2-3 hairs in the shower.

Vrede En Lust is an exquisite location where the staff are all so kind, the breakfast was delicious and the rooms are immaculate.

The staff were friendly, lovely pool and food was nice. Staff provided a cot at lunch time.

We booked two of the cottages for Christmas but neither were particularly clean with visible dirt on the floor, cleaning products in a cupboard next to the fridge easily accessible to children. Lampshades broken, tv’s are old and Netflix didn’t work, wardrobes that don’t shut and are also so dangerous for children as can easily fall/be pulled over. Shower flooded the room on the first night, after staff quickly cleared the water and cleaned the drain filter, a manager arrived about 30 min later at this point it was late on Xmas eve and I was trying to get my 2 and 4 year old to bed not to apologise but to ask how I had flooded the room. Finally a swarm of bees outside the cottage, bees in the room on Xmas Eve and we awoke to many outside the door. This again was just not safe for and nothing was done, no one came to speak to us or apologise, suggest to move us. We have stayed at the Vineyard, Alphen and Boschendal and this was very poor in comparison. Needs refurbishment.

Cosy and comfortable with a great view. Enjoyed the sweet little chocolates and bedtime notes.

The floor wasn’t swept when we returned in the afternoon although everything else was cleaned by housekeeping. Only one teaspoon between two guests.

Booked three rooms for a work function. One of the rooms for an entertainer quite well known in a South African context. Asked if the person could check in at 2 (their normal check in seems to be 3) and could not have been met with more indifference from the staff (manager and frond desk person).

Everything was just perfect! Staff, room, location everything you can think of. Food was delicious and drinks were cheap

The staff was very helpful, place is beautiful and we enjoyed it a lot!!!! I would recommend this wine farm to everyone.

Wunderschönes Estate mit einem sehr schönen Garten. Die Zimmer sind sehr komfortabel eingerichtet und man kann am Pool entspannen. Das Personal war auch super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten hier bisher auch das beste Wine Tasting, da hier die Beratung am kompetentesten war. Preis/Leistung sind auch top! Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen, wenn wir in die Winelands fahren!

Beautiful estate, kind and helpful people, relaxing vibe. Bikes availability and space to cycle was great.

Minor details could be improved, the fridge was constantly leaking and the pool water in the afternoon was a bit oily, I guess it'd be solved with a mid day extrs cleaning.

Great and beautiful estate with cosy cottages, nice gardens, pleasant refreshing pool, delicious breakfast and great service at the reception. Daily cleaning of the room, making up the bed and refreshing the towels.

The sweet breakfast consists of one croissant and one cupcake. This could be a bit more original. A small welcoming bottle of wine from the estate in the room would be a nice gesture.

Wir hatten zwei der Cottages gebucht, leider war es sehr schmutzig im Zimmer und auch sonst etwas heruntergekommen und nicht so sauber und schön wie erwartet. Der Fussboden im Cottage war extrem dreckig (überall), mit grossen Mengen an Haaren, Sand, Essensresten etc. Generell waren die Oberflächen nicht gut geputzt, Gläser und Besteck im Zimmer auch weit entfernt von sauber. Man hat das Gefühl dass sich niemand so richtig kümmert. Wäsche welche ich gewaschen hatte wurde nur teilweise gewaschen und ohne Info und Kommentar kamen einige Teile einfach schmutzig retour, komplett ungewaschen. Leider können wir diese Unterkunft überhaupt nicht empfehlen.

Sehr schön gelegenes Weingut. Wir hatten ein sehr großes, modernes Zimmer mit schönen Ausblick auf die Berge. Bergblick buchen! Gute Ausgangslage für eine Weintour mit Haltestelle für die Tram. Sehr leckeres Essen.

The WHOLE experience was just out of this world. The staff were so friendly. The event was amazing - we were all so impressed how quickly everything got packed up and the farm restored like nothing had happened moments prior. Will definitely be back next year!
