Every detail was considered. Everything was clean, comfortable, felt luxurious, and the grounds are breathtakingly beautiful. The staff is incredible, the food is delicious and they took great care to accommodate for allergies. Peaceful, serene - we have could stayed for much, much longer.
Literally nothing!
The rooms n location
The staff
The rooms were excellent
The basic necessities were not in the room
The property is set in lush greenery, very peaceful & tranquil.A luxurious experience surrounded by nature. The rooms are comfortable and elegant. The pool & sauna area was a relaxing experience. The dinner was delicious & the service impeccable (Thank you Troy for the beautiful table at the fireplace). Excellent breakfast (no buffet, served at your table) in an excellent setting. The location is a short drive (2.5km) into the vineyard grounds of Vrede & Lust, not in Franschhoek town.A hidden gem!
Beautiful
Heaven on earth! So peaceful
- tranquil location. There’s not much to do but relax and that was the reason we booked it - staff are kind and accommodating and generally a lovely group of people. Shout out to Carmen especially.
Angala is a wonderful property that provides for a luxurious stay. The setting is beautiful and the gardens and pool area very relaxing. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous. All the meals were excellent and of high quality.
Having to leave!
Es war sehr ruhig und erholsam Personal sehr freundlich. Zimmer sehr schön und konfortabel.
Als wir einmal am abend nur etwas kleines essen wollten, war dies schwierig. Personal war sehr unflexibel.
We’ve had an absolutely incredible stay at Angala, truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. It’s located a bit outside the city, but we actually saw that as a positive — the atmosphere was wonderfully calm and relaxing. Troy made our stay absolutely perfect with his 10/10 service and friendliness, and Cerene was also so lovely, serving us a delicious breakfast every morning. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know.
Absolutely loved this place. Stunning rooms, super comfortable beds, beautiful gardens! The staff were amazing!
Absolutely stunning! The rooms were so gorgeous and the grounds are amazing!
Angala is a hidden gem. This was our second time staying & I think it’ll become an annual treat. We had an incredible dinner, Troye looked after us so well. Just perfect. The rooms are divine, beds so comfy you never want to leave. The views, gardens, pools & setting are just dreamy.

Nothing
Het ontbijt was prima. Goede locatie maar te lange hobbelige oprit naar het hotel. Heel vriendelijk personeel en heel goede service.
Te weinig stopcontacten in de kamer
Fireplace dining area outside is possibly the best table i have ever been at. The attention to detail is exceptional and location quiet and relaxing.
The room, the grounds, the main building... all the facilities were fantastic.
Liked it all... the dinner and breakfast was very nice but not excellent.
Wonderful boutique hotel nested in the vineyards. I booked because I wanted to try a natural pool. Not only the pool was amazing but also the whole spa experience with sauna, hammam, cold plunge and jacuzzi! Overall we loved our 2 night stay at Angala. We felt very special and all the staff were nice to us The hotel itself is amazing, comfortable and I loved the outdoor shower! Dinner was delicious. Tranquility is king!
Staff was excellent and the evening dinner definitely recommended
The property is exceptional. A beautifully designed and tucked away gem with so many amenities and laid out to provide a tranquil respite from our busy world. The staff are all very professional and attentive and go out of their way to make you feel at home.
Everywhere is special. Whether relaxing in the sitting areas, walking in the fabulous vegetable garden, relaxing in the pool or sauna, or simply walking or jogging on the surrounding trails there is nothing not to like about this hotel.
Our stay at Angala Boutique Hotel was nothing short of magical—a true sanctuary for the soul nestled in the heart of South Africa's Cape Winelands. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a warm embrace of hospitality and serenity. Angala is truly a bit of heaven on earth—a place where time slows, hearts open, and presence becomes everything. Every moment for us felt like a return to something divine. The serene atmosphere, with its lush gardens and tranquil pools, provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation - a sanctuary where nature, spirit, and stillness converge. Special thanks to Nikki( Nikisha) for his insightful approach to healthy cuisine that added a a nourishing touch to our dining experiences. Also special thanks to Sereen, whose warm and loveable energy brightened our mornings and made every day start with a smile. We truly experienced a bit of heaven on earth during our stay at Angala. With gratitude and love, William and Grace
Nothing. everything was perfect.
Words cannot describe it, but this place is curated to be special above the norm. A hidden gem in the most beautiful setting!
Beautiful setting and staff treated us like Roayalty

Had a short but pleasant stay. Angala breathes serenity and is so so beautiful. The hike up the mountain is nice and recommendable. The pools are great and the surroundings and views are amazing. Breakfast was a great plus!
No negative comments
We really enjoyed the breakfast. Yogurt, fruit and honey followed by toast and cooked if ordered. The dining area is beautiful and quiet and the staff are delightful and always smiling and helpful.
Our room had an outside shower as well as inside and the facilities were great. However. There were no curtains or blinds at all !!!. I went outside and the privacy coating on the glass was very good but it did not stop the feeling of being on display we had when inside the bathroom. Even though the window covering was not absolutely necessary it was for us and we would have been far happier if something had been there for us to pull across. The evening meal only had 2 choices. I had the vegetarian to try it. the main course was a vegetable stir fry, which, all though pretty and tasty was unimaginative in todays restaurant world. There are so many different vegetarian ideas. They could have done better and it was expensive for a vegetable stir fry.
Location next to where we were attending a wedding Lovely grounds
Room service didn't resale exist although it was advertised
I booked Angala for my husband to unwind and relax before our wedding. It was a slice of heaven and exactly what he needed! The facilities are incredible and the owners very hospitable and warm. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you Angala
The setting for the hotel was amazing with views at every angle. The pools and wellness facilities were great and very relaxing and the room was large with everything and more we needed. The vegetable garden was also great to walk round and explore.
It was a little off the main road, but that didn’t detract from anything.
It’s the second time we’ve stayed and it truly is a magical place. It’s not inexpensive, but worth it. The food is exceptional, staff so friendly and professional. Location is amazing, quiet and tranquil. Loved the natural pool and surroundings
It was all wonderful
The natural and the ozone pools with the sauna and steam sauna
Lush green
What a magical oasis with the most calming energy. Everything is spotless, the staff are charming and the gardens and views are spectacular. The vegetable garden is a must see and the dinner is delicious. An absolute must. You’ll want to stay longer!
Beautiful room and the grounds are lovely. Staff were exceptional and so welcoming!
Our room did not have electricity (the lights worked but no powerpoints or amenities). They tried to fix it but didn't work for our two day stay and no discount was provided.
Breakfast was excellent as well as friendly staff
Fabulous location Incredibly relaxing
Nothing
Peace and quiet
Location proved difficult to get taxis would need a car we were there for wedding on the wine estate therefore didn’t want to drive
Beautiful setting in beautifully kept wildlife-friendly gardens, with wildlife pond you could swim in, and fabulous on-site organic veg garden on the side of the mountain. Very eco-friendly, excellent, elegant food, and friendly but unobtrusive service from all staff. A peaceful retreat.
A tiny thing - I couldn't plug in the hairdryer close enough to a mirror in the room.
Angala is a great boutique hotel situated on a farm with beautiful views. The entire experience was excellent. We had drinks at the fireplace after our conference ended and enjoyed the amazing atmosphere. The team went out of their way to make it a memorable stay.
Wonderfully calm and private with a caring staff who took the time to chat with us. The breakfast was particularly delicious.
Everything you need is in your room. Comfortable beds. Lovely staff
Nothing
Beautiful, tucked away up into the mountains, and yet really central for Simondium and the Franschhoek valley. A gem. Charming staff, beautiful gardens and views, the sound of running water everywhere. And a big effort towards sustainability here which is to be commended: a reed filtered natural swimming pool, a conscious effort to limit one use plastic bottles in bathrooms, paper waste bags.
Absolutely nothing.
Beautiful place. Loved our stay . All staff were so amazing in making it a perfect birthday experience Highly recommend for relaxing stay
Beautiful hotel and room in a very tranquil setting.
Loved everything.
Angala is paradise. The location, attention to detail, and exceptional beauty of the surroundings is breathtaking. The staff are lovely and extremely accommodating. We arrived late and were greeted warmly despite it being passed 10:00 PM. The chef had prepared a delicious, beautiful vegan platter for us which we enjoyed in our room by the fire that had been thoughtfully lit for us. The room was exceptional and we can’t say enough about the amazingly kept grounds and garden. We will definitely be coming back here on our next trip to Cape Town.
We loved everything about Angala, it so serene and relaxing in a beautiful environment. Showing outside with mountains on the horizon was a highlight for me personally
It’s a little out of the way. But if it wasn’t it would lose some of its charm.
Beautiful setting, lovely set-up and extremely peaceful.
WiFi didn’t work at all during our 24hr stay. TV in room wasn’t a Smart TV and only had access to basic channels.
Our experience at the hotel was nothing short of remarkable, largely due to its tasteful and inviting decor. The design was a beautiful fusion of simplicity and elegance, with thoughtfully arranged seating areas that offered captivating views, making each moment a delight to the senses. The hotel's spa facilities were fantastic offering steam / sauna / 2 pools / Jacuzzi. What made our stay truly unforgettable was the prompt and attentive staff, who catered to our every need, ensuring a hassle-free experience. The peace and tranquility that enveloped the hotel was the ultimate cherry on top, creating a serene retreat from the outside world. A truly memorable stay!
The only negative was the iron in the room as it didn’t hold water inside so was hard to iron the clothes without steam. But I’m sure if I called the reception they would have brought me one that would be compatible with water, also they did have a laundry service that I could of used.
felt very luxurious throughout and service amazing! nothing was too much trouble. a wonderful oasis
overpriced. no free bottled water. dinner choice non existent but did try and accommodate allergies, yet a long way from anywhere. wine too expensive. poorly signed from the road.
This was a hidden gem! Beautiful surroundings and the staff were attentive and thoughtful.
Long and winding road into the location could be better signage
Stunning views. A hidden gem which was peaceful. An ideal peaceful getaway to escape the busyness of life. Excellent staff. Exceptional food.
Shops are a bit far.
It is a very tranquil spot. The room was spacious and well equipped. Loved the outdoor shower, natural pool and the in-room massage. Left feeling very restored.
It would be nice to have some more varied lunch options.
Beautiful hotel, really incredible rooms with the most comfortable bed and pillows, breakfast was great!
No wi fi
Quiet, relaxing, spacious rooms and bathroom. Delicious food and super friendly staff
The location is truly superb, including the proximity to excellent wine estates. The various pool options are excellent, and the room was very comfortable. Sauna is great. Beautiful sunset views. The complementary wine and Nespresso in the room are great.
Expected a more premium experience for the price. For the steak dinner, we weren't asked about our preference for how it should be done - although it was delicious nonetheless. No guarantee of being able to use the wine-tasting voucher at Rupert and Rothschild when they are fully booked during peak times. Angala should recommend to guests beforehand that they should make a reservation in advance if they want to make use of the voucher during peak times.
Second visit to this stunning hotel and it will not be our last. The hotel is wonderful and the views out of this world. The rooms are fantastic with every possible amenity available. The beds and pillows are so comfortable it was hard to leave.
The only thing I would change would be for a choice on the dinner menu.
The staff was lovely and the place fantastic for a getaway when needing to disconnect, will most def come back !
would be great if the private pool was heated, but that is a minor details
Magical setting with birds, insects, frogs, flowers, scents and dream views. An experience of a lifetime.
The door locks
Views, comfort, food, service - all brilliant!
all : excellent staff, family owned, great swimming, nice rooms, great location, ...
Everything. Angala is incredible. Troye and team were exceptional hosts and made sure our stay was comfortable and unforgettable. The facilities are world class and rooms filled great amenities. Stunning views.
