The cottage had everything you would hope for in a holiday home - comfort, space, clean, fully equipped and above all, an amazing location. In the middle of the Gap of Dunloe, the location couldn't be better! The drive in and out might be a bit of a challenge if you are not used to single track roads and a bit of patience is required when you meet the jaunting cars and horses!
Great location and relaxing. Amazing waterfalls in all directions.
Wifi only seemed to get a little signal in the kitchen and dining area. Booster or stronger signal would be great.
Heerlijke cottage aan de Gap of Dunloe. Uitzicht op bergen, meertje en waterval Compleet ingericht. Fantastische omgeving. Echt een aanrader!
Excellent location. Very clean. Wood burners and reclining sofas amazing for relaxation.
Shower was weak and beds a little too soft.
Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage dieses gemütlichen Cottage war einfach traumhaft. Das Haus war sehr sauber und besonders erwähnenswert war der freundliche Weckdienst der Schafherden. :-)
The location was exceptional - truly stunning! The host was very flexible with us for check-out, and that made for a very smooth departure.
One twin bed was a little uncomfortable, but the other spaces were wonderful.
Locatie was super
Niks
The location was stunning, the cottage had everything we needed.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the property.
Location was perfect..very quiet
Probably one of the best locations I’ve stayed in - stunningly beautiful Spotlessly clean when we arrived Comfortable
There was any basics like milk or soap/shower gel left - for €1200 for 4 nights, you would have thought there mught have been at least some milk On leaving the owner arrived for check out and seemed annoyed there were 5 of us as she had only 2 down on the booking - however we booked the whole cottage and it said in black and white you have the whole cottage which sleeps 5 - she explained there could have been charges upwards of €50 euros per additional person which we were a bit confused about as the booking said we had booked the whole cottage and it was expensive enough for 4 days / so worth double checking this Also a neighbours dog barked very late into the night and early into the mornings each day of our stay - we have a dog so appreciate they bark, but this woke us up before 7am each day and the first night barked until gone midnight
Remote isolated area!
The area was peaceful and beautiful!
Amazing location in the Gap of Dunloe, sheep roaming right outside. Great location for hiking. We enjoyed our stay, and appreciated the apple pie and fresh milk that was provided. Dorothy was very responsive and was easy to reach if we needed anything. Looking forward to returning! Thanks Dorothy!
Beautiful location, remote and amazing views! Very nicely removated cottage
Location and lovely house
Location and welcoming with apple pie and some milk.
No hair dryer
The apple pie. Location. Facilities. Spacious This is the place to stay. Only 16km from Killarney. The views from our little cottage are to die for. Very cosy. Close to everything we wanted to see and do in the area.
Absolutely nothing
Well-equipped three-bedroom house in the middle of the stunningly beautiful Gap of Dunloe. Very cosy and quiet for a get-away-from-it-all feeling (although you are on the road where hikers and horses and carts will pass so you're not really isolated either).
There's no mobile phone reception and the internet is weak - but this was really a plus for us and we hadn't expected to be fully connected for a restful few days away from it all.
This location is absolutely stunning, we went all over Ireland and I’m not sure anywhere could beat this. It was a perfect relaxing place for our family of 5, our kids loved seeing all the animals right outside every morning and night.
The cottage was amazing in a fairy tale location. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was a washing machine and a dryer, which was excellent. Everything was in top condition. We loved being able to walk the Gap at any time. Dorothy, the host, was extremely responsive. We would definitely come back.
The only minor thing is that the mattress was a little uncomfortable. Also, for driving in, it should be noted that before 8 am and after 5pm is best as this is when there are no jaunty carts driving by and a lot less people.
The cottage has an ideal location right in the middle of the Gap of Dunloe. Many great sites are within reach if you have a car. Two bedrooms are seperated, one is a go-through-room and there is only one bathroom in the house. But the rooms are spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped.
~Location was amazingly beautiful but scary to get to. Very twisty one lane road. ~Welcome milk and water were handy. ~toilet paper and paper towel provided. ~Dot was very responsive. ~water pressure good. ~full size, separate washer and dryer. ~heat good. ~lots of storage. ~easy access to Killarney. ~soup at Coffee Pot Cafe up the road!
~ musty smell in sitting room. ~ soft, soggy beds. ~ dated, slapdash decor, furniture and kitchen ware. ~ old tv in sitting room. ~ no instructions for heat, hot water, washer, dryer, door lock, shower, small appliances. ~ would not drive road in the dark. Too dangerous. ~ no cell service but wifi was okay.
If you are looking for a place to plug out, this is it. Scenery breathtaking
Cold when we arrived as all windows were open. No firelighters to light the basket of wood. Oil heating ran out on our second day there. Absolutely no WiFi or phone coverage
Great cottage in a beautiful location. Stunning drive and walks to/from the cottage. Amenities as described.
The connectivity at the cottage wasn't great - limited phone coverage and the WiFi was very slow. However this is a bonus if you want to switch off.
The location- situated at the heart of the Gap of Dunloe. Furnitures- beds are comfy and rooms are spacious, appliances are modern and working, tables and chairs are provided for outside sitting. Overall, this place is a gem 💎
None
Lovely rural setting, great views, no data or wifi so all able to take a time out. Great base for Carrauntoohill, Killarney, Ring of Kerry etc.
Dot's place was absolutely beautiful! She was both helpful and hospitable. I would highly recommend a stay with her. The cottage is a great place to unplug, unwind and relax. Absolutely stunning views all around.
